I highly recommend this shop to rent an e-bike. I rented a couple of bikes for my nephew and I to ride and it was great. The owner, Dave, was very nice and helpful. He took his time to give us maps, directions, and a couple of free waters for the road. The e-bikes worked great. The shop is right by the bike path and we had a fun time riding the wetlands trail and the river mountain loop trail.

THEY ARE A SCAM! Absolutely worst experience ever. We have been attempting to rent two bikes for a month with our get out pass. We tried four times within the month and every time we called they would deny us a bike rental and say they are not available, no matter how early we would try to come by to use our one hour bike pass. Today we woke up early, to be there at the exact time she said, when we showed up the lady told us there were two additional fees we would have to pay if we wanted to rent the bikes today. The amount of fees they have is crazy. $early pick up fee $25 Cleaning fee $30 And if you don’t pay the early pick up fee then you will not get a bike because the day renters get priority and will take the bikes available for the day. I would avoid. They should not advertise with get out anymore. It is a complete scam and it’s evident they do not want to allow get out pass holders to utilize their bikes.

Google
Great bike hire shop, right on the 10.5 mile marker of the river mountain loop. They loaned me a bike in as new condition, were helpful showing me the route supplying a map and showing places to stop etc. Even gave me two bottles of water for the bike and a free soda when I dropped it back. The river mountain loop is a fantastic traffic route, with amazing views of the mountains, Vegas and lake mead. I took the recommended clockwise route to avoid the steep climb in the first few miles for the more gradual climb

Google
This place is a scam. Asked them to change tire tubes and break pads they charge $111 and add tuneup and cleaning totaling $70 then give you the runaround asking you to talk to the mechanic. Will never go to this place again. Stay away! All this for an $80 kids bike from Walmart.

My partner and I spent our one full free day of the trip on rented e-bikes from River Mountain Bike Shop (5-10 minute drive or 40-50 minute walk from our condo on Lake Las Vegas). We rode the River Mountains Loop Trail clockwise (as recommended by the shop), which took us 6.5 leisurely hours w/ water/lunch stops. We were very happy to have had the electric assist and found the added cost completely worth it, particularly after we stopped in Boulder City for ice cream (it was a vacation after all;) The staff were friendly and welcoming and topped things off with a free beer for each of us after the ride - such a great way to end the day! PS: try their signature honey chili beef jerky...yum!

Kevin Lathers (Nodonn)

Google
The rented electric assist bike worked perfectly. They provided clear and accurate directions as well as a map for the loop trail. Perfect for something a bit different than a regular hike.

Google
Can't say enough positives about River Mountain Bike Shop. They are friendly, knowledgeable, fun, caring and conveniently located right along the River Mountain trail. The ride is scenic, just long enough, challenging yet enjoyable. Highly recommend the eBikes!

Google
Took in my wife's E-Bike for some new brakes. I'm very happy with the service. They even cleaned the bike really nice before I picked it up with no extra charge. I will be taking all my bikes here for any future work

Yelp
When I got there both guys were busy in the back which was fine as I was in no rush but apparently they were. When they came out to help me one of the guys was very short with me and me feel unwelcome. Basically like I was inconveniencing them by being there. I ended up going somewhere else.

Yelp
If you would like to add some great exercise and fun to your Vegas vacation, head out here. My wife and I rented two well build e-bikes and headed out on the 35 mile loop in the lake mead area. Well marked and a great opportunity to see the desert and have enough power to get you through the sun.

Tony C.

Yelp
Tina was absolutely amazing and accommodating. Fixed my bike immediately so that me and my son could continue our weekly bike riding bonding time. Thank you so much !

Yelp
Find another bike shop. The owner will not follow through on agreed pricing. The owner was arrogant and clearly doesn't understand how business works. Apparently he thinks he can treat customers like garbage and tell us that is how New Yorkers do it. DO NOT RENT or buy from this business. You never know how much they will ask you to pay. Horrible business man. Horrible respect for women and just plain rude. After your response I should point out that my wife and I came in on Thursday pre-arranged and left on Sat. I am not counting, but that isn't what was Advertised. I can't speak for all of the arrangements you made as we were just 2 from our larger bike team of over 100 with about 40 traveling for this ride. You flat out lied to us.

Yelp
Found this gem by doing a search online. After some digging found this shop and picked due to location right on the 35 mile bike loop and the fact they had e bikes for rent that didn't require a group tour. We are not cyclists ourself unless you count peloton. The shop owner was very detailed about the trail and went over how to use the bike. Helmets included and he was able to give us extra seat padding. We have a great few hours on the trail and the bikes were amazing. They retail $3500 so they are not cheapies. The e assist was excellent on the steeper climbs on the way back and gave us more range to explore the sights than with a traditional bike. As long as you have some exercise capacity you can enjoy the trail with these bikes. After returning we were offered beer, drinks, snacks from the shop and got the run down on e bikes, would love to purchase one in the future.

Yelp
Such a great resource for this amazing area. We rented nice bikes to ride the 38-mile trail. The bikes were in perfect condition and included two large bottles of water. The staff described the trail as including "1,000 of climbing over nine miles" but unfortunately (we didn't have padded cycling pants) the trail turned out to be 2,473' of climbing!!! Well, we did it and survived. Overall if the staff was a bit more accurate, it would serve their patrons. Rent Ebikes, regular bikes, boats, RV's, or pretty much anything you like at this store.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at River Mountain Bike Shop. The online reservation process was very easy. The staff was super friendly. The ebike was fantastic and easy to ride. There is a nice introductory video about how to operate the bike and what to expect on the trail. Then some practice riding in the parking lot. After the ride they invited us to grab a drink and ice cream. They went above and beyond to make our trip a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Had an awesome experience here. My brother and I love riding the loop. I encouraged my wife to join us. I wanted to rent her an ebike to make the ride a bit more enjoyable. Darryn was awesome! Hooked us right up. Very friendly and knowledgeable. After coming back and turning the rental bike back in, he made sure we had plenty of refreshments. I highly recommend this place to all my Cali peeps. Just ask for Darryn and you'll be good!!!!

Yelp
We absolutely loved our experience from start to finish! To begin with, the owner welcomed us and showed us a great video he had made explaining the electric bikes. He also gave each of us a couple cold large bottles of water to take with us. The scenery it was gorgeous and the bikes made the ride so much easier. They have lots and lots of electric bikes so they have plenty of availability. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Worst run business in Las Vegas!! The owner yells at you on the phone and then yells at you again when you go in the shop. He's the most rude business man I have ever come across. I would never spend one dime in that shop EVER! I would advise you not to do business with him. When I told him I was going to give a bad review, he said he doesn't care and then said they mean nothing.

Rob C.

Yelp
These guys were awesome. Seriously awesome. Took a bike in to be tuned up. The hot Aussie guy prefers to work on clean bikes, so I got it back not only in tiptop shape, but clean and polished! Who does that?! The bike had a dented fender, and they even straightened that out so it wouldn't rub against the tire. Next time I'm looking for a bike - or just to slow down and listen to a melodic voice - I'm going here. I highly recommend this place.

Jeff D.

Yelp
So, I just called this bike repair place for maintenance on my bike. I had bad reception, so this ghetto dude tells me to "learn how to talk on the phone, and hung up on me. After multiple calls, I ask him why he told me what he did. I asked for his boss or manager. He then asks me "Why, Bro? Learn to talk on the phone. Then he went off cursing me out and he got very HOSTILE. I will go by there and confront his Boss, if he even cares. If you hire a shitbag like I talked to, maybe the boss is just as bad. I HIGHLY, and STRONGLY, do NOT recommend this place. There are way too many professional bike repair shops, to give any money to any unprofessional establishment. I'd give a minus 1 if I was allowed.

Patrick K.

Yelp
Hit this shop up during CV lockdown. Combo market and bike shop, who would of thought right? Awesome dude who owns the place, very approachable sociable dude. Excellent service and decent prices. Definitely will reach out again.

Yelp
I had a great experience at River Mountains Bike Shop! I was referred by a friend and took a friend with me today and we both ended up with new bikes. The manager Darryn was great. He wasn't pushy at all. Recommended we come rent a bike for a day to try It out. He didn't try to hard sell and push me into anything. He gave me lot of information. I ended up purchasing a bike and so did my friend. We purchased bikes that were previously used as rentals but had new parts and tires on them. We got a great deals. They also offer service for the bikes and have great recommendations for trails. Would definitely recommend going in!

Yelp
Rented two e-bikes here and did 30 miles of the river mountain trail. Owner made sure we had what we needed and knew where we were going and gave us great advice. $100/day for ebikes which are well worth it. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Given the Covid situation I didn't think they would be open... but they are. I dropped off my vintage road bike that needed new tires at 10am and 30 minutes later it was good to ride. Very reasonable prices and quality service.
google avatar

Yelp
Find another bike shop to rent from. The owner did not follow through on committed pricing once we got to the shop. There are plenty of other places around. Do yourself a favor and skip this place entirely. Not only is the owner completely unethical, but he is also arrogant and rude. He won't be in business very much longer with his tactics.
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy little shop that doubles as a bait/tackle shop as well as a convenience store. Makes sense in this economy, honestly. Anyway, Darryn (the manager) was helpful and informative regarding the local cycling trails and he provided me with a couple of maps for reference. He also told me that the shop has a recovery service for riders on the River Mountains Loop Trail. If you're stranded on the trail and need some help (mechanical, out of water, or just want the suffering to end) you can call the shop and for $50 they'll come get you and bring you to their shop (where you can catch an Uber/Lyft or have your friends/family come get you).

Yelp
I've been working with Darryn Padfield for about 4 years and riding twice as long as that. I've tried four stores for cycling service and maintenance in Las Vegas/Hendo during that time. I always had problems and would often have to for back for unfinished work, poorly installed components even missing parts! I live between Denver and Las Vegas and there are only two mechanics I trust with my life and my bikes. The other one is in Denver and I'm grateful for both of these guys. I own 4 bikes and they are expensive bikes, I service them regularly. This store was recommended to me by a client of mine due to the quality of service and pricing. Darryn is a gifted mechanic for all my bikes both MTB and Road. They may not be as big as some stores, but the experience, knowledge and value for money is hard to beat. They carry and use my favorite FinishLine products. What more can a girl ask for. I'm happy to drive the 30minutes to Ride Safe.

Yelp
Two big thumbs up for this place and Darryn the manager. Super friendly and informative. Quality bikes at fair prices . Free water /drinks a nice perk. He gave great advice and put us on the appropriate path for our skill level. We will be back at our next trip to the area.

Yelp
I brought my sons bike in for some adjustments and the gentlemen there was very friendly and knowledgeable. He did the adjustments in about 10 minutes and my kid was ecstatic, and he did it for a very fair and reasonable price. I'm thinking I'll be back to rent a couple bikes to do the trails. I'm sorry I didnt catch his name, but I'm sure his accent was english. Thank you anyways for making my sons day and making it possible to enjoy his birthday riding his new bike!!

Dale K.

Yelp
I took my bike over here yesterday to get a flat tire fixed. The guy in the store said the guy who does that won't be back until the 1st. Guess I should have called first.
google avatar

Joseph G.

Yelp
Darryn who works there is cool and down to earth. Always hooks it up with fresh cold water during the summer time and a warm heater when it's freezing cold out. Love coming in here and chatting when I have time. I buy a couple gels, bars, and bottled refreshments from time to time. Never a bad experience. Kind of a bummer that a large group left a bunch of bad reviews. These are good guys and don't deserve that.

Mariza K.

Yelp
DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD AT THIS SHOP!!!! Recently supported this local shop by purchasing bike items on a Saturday. By Wednesday I was receiving fraud alerts from purchases at PacSun, Ralph Lauren, and supreme New York website. Beware of your card use.

Rick S.

Yelp
They did a really good job replacing my tires, tubes and doing a tune-up. Done exactly at the time they said it would be done and the price for the work was reasonable.
google avatar

Johanna S.

Yelp
This is an awesome bike shop! We just rented 3 bikes and did the wetlands lake loop. Our 11 year old had a great time. Darren at the shop is super friendly and helpful and gave us waters and cold drinks afterwards. I highly recommend this as an active day trip in the Vegas area.

Yelp
I rented a beautiful Trek Madone for a week. $250 plus tax. Took it to Paso Robles for the Great Western Bike Rally and it served me well. Darryn was awesome to work with - totally hassle free experience and next time I'm in LV I'll be heading back here!

Ross C.

Yelp
Excellent service, well-maintained and equipped road bike. Great location just off the River Mountain Loop Trail. Highly recommended!

Yelp
DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. THE OWNER IS MENTALLY DISTURBED. I called before Christmas or buy a gift certificate for two all day bike rentals as a gift for my husband. The man who answered with English accent told me they do not have gift certificate. I said no worries, how about you charge my card and email me the receipt. I'll create my own gift card with the receipt in it. He agreed and said he was leaving for vacation. January 8 I called as the receipt never was emailed yet they charged my card $167.22. I tried to explain the situation to the owner but he never let me finish a sentence. Called me a fraudulent liar because they don't have gift certificate. He wouldn't take a breathe between his screaming and ranting to let me explain. He wasn't just angry, his words weren't making sense and he rambled on. I said you've charged my card what am I to do. He basically told me to F off and then hung up the phone. Absolutely the craziest call ever. I had to contact my bank and open a dispute. The time and hassle to deal with this shop, insane. RUN!

Craig L.

Yelp
I just pick up my wife's E-Bike at Rive Mountains Bike Shop I had the Hanger & Derailleur replaced with new parts, did a great job thanks Craig

Yelp
Very rarely in life do you meet someone with such a working knowledge of what they are doing. But Darryn is truly gifted when it comes to bikes. I will not take my bike anywhere else in town. I highly recommend taking your gear into him.

e d.

Yelp
My friend Bill and I rode the Loop trail on March 11. It was my first time renting an E bike and I was a little nervous. Darryn was fantastic; incredibly helpful and confident that I would have fun. He was absolutely right. The Trek was in great condition and very easy to learn how to ride. I had a wonderful time and would definitely come back to River Mountains Bike Shop again!
google avatar

Yelp
Multiple members of my cycling team were overcharged. We had a pre-arranged group rate but when several of our group got their rentals, they were charged an extra $50 apiece. Since we were from out of town, we had no choice but to pay. Don't get caught in the same position. We certainly will never rent from here again.
google avatar

Bruce O.

Yelp
They have an attitude. If you want to drop big money on new bikes I think they will. Treat you nice. Otherwise not so much. I've been here several times because it was close but I am NOT impressed. Fair inventory.

Heidi D.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. What a pompous jerk! I called this shop today to ask if they do repairs. The jerk on the phone responded sarcastically and said "We're a bike shop so yeah." I asked him when I could get an appt to get my brakes bled and looked at. He talked over me the whole time, constantly stating "We're busy like every other bike shop in town." When I asked my question again (hoping he'd actually listen to my question) he said his repair guy would be in tomorrow at 9:00 so I could drop my bike off then. When I asked how long I should expect them to have my bike, he again talked over me saying "We're busy like every other bike shop in town." I asked my question again and he said "I don't know. Just bring it in." I needed this info before committing to that shop so I asked if I could get an approximation at least. A day...? A week...? A month...? He condescendingly reminded me again that "We're busy like every other bike shop in town. There's no way it'll be the same day or even the next day. Maybe the day after that." To make a short story long...I don't care if they did the work the same day and for a huge discount. I will not give this shop a minute of my time or a penny for their work. They just lost a potential client and several of my friends. Jerk!

Yelp
We are avid cyclists and renting from this shop was an awesome experience! We stopped in the day before we wanted to rent to check it out. All of our questions were thoroughly answered and maps were given to us so we could decide on a route. We came back the next day and were warmly welcomed and fitted with super nice high end road bikes. We did the paper work and were on the 36 mile River Mountain Loop (which is literally across the road from the shop) 20 minutes after we walked in their door. It was nice that the bikes came with well supplied repair kits and plenty of water and nice helmets. Everyone there was extremely pleasant. When we returned from our ride, had our free beverage in the beer garden, chatted with the owner and bike mechanic a bit about the area and were in our way. The previous negative reviews surprise us. There was not a single negative thing about our experience. We would highly recommend using this business.

Nickolas F.

Yelp
We rented two of the electric, power assist bikes on Friday, April 24, 2020 for the 34 mile river mountain loop trail. We had an absolutely wonderful experience. The bike rental place was extremely helpful and friendly. We are in our 50s and do keep fit, but the power assist bike option was a very smart move. We would not likely have finished the entire loop without it. The temperature was in the high 80s which was a bit warm so I would not recommend doing the loop may - sept. I also understand that the trail can be very busy on the weekends, so I would go during the week if possible. There are many trail options and spurs off the river mountain loop but we opted to stay strictly on the loop trail our first time out. The loop is well marked but you do have to keep focused due to the many optional offshoots along the way. The bike shop will give you a map which was very helpful to know where on the loop you are. In addition there are mile markers along the way. The ride itself is a workout. There is one uphill stretch that starts about mile marker 24 with a gradual incline for about 7 miles or so. But once you get to that point there are very long stretches where you can just sit back and coast downhill. The last 1/2 mile back to the bike rental is uphill but by that time you can see the finish line. If you like outdoor activity, adventure and exercise, this is a must do. We stopped twice for breaks of about 20 minutes each for lunch and snacks and a few more short breaks for water and photos and we finished the loop in about 5 hours. Our hineys did get very sore as we are not used to biking, but this was the only negative part of the experience. We do highly recommend this bike rental shop.

Patrick C.

Yelp
We are NOT riders, but found this place to be great. Very helpful getting us started and made sure we knew what to expect. We only made it to the Vistors Center (15 miles away) and they stayed open late to make sure we got back and on our way safe. 5 stars all day long!

Trisha A.

Yelp
I called this place to fix my son's bike at 9:25am. For one they say they open at 9am, but the guy who fixes the bikes are not in until maybe 12noon. The guy couldn't give me a straight answer. Then I asked if they had time to fix a flat today because I need it back the same day. The guy was extremely rude and was belittling towards me and treating me like I'm a complete idiot. I was trying to explain that I would simply call back and talk to the bike tech when he was there, The guy was trying to get me to just drop if off. I can't describe how frustration this awful service was. I will never use this shop and will not recommend this place to anyone! I've been in customer service all my life in many industries and this rudeness was not called for.

David D.

Yelp
Great experience. Top quality bikes that are well maintained. Courteous and attentive. I would recommend if you have interest in the near by Historic Railroad Trail.

Kiera L.

Yelp
A friend told me about this bike shop after having frustrations with a few other shops. (He kept getting an odd noise, was told it was fixed and kept having to return because it wasn't.) My friend said the guy at this shop figured it out right away & that he really knows his stuff & pays good attention to detail. I don't have time to play around and I value quality work on my bikes. I've been pleased with his work and never worry about things getting done right the first time with him... I thought it time to finally do a review.

Neil S.

Yelp
Went in and inquired about some prices, bike performance and so forth. Found the guy (Aussie or Kiwi I do believe) to be kind of arrogant and condescending. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Doesn't seem to care about basic customer service. Not upset, though. McGees has WAY better prices and customer service.

Bruno P.

Yelp
Very good and friendly shop! Helped with my flat tire and gave instructions for the bike trail around.

Yelp
Great service! We rented trek electric bikes and rode the rive Mountain 34 miles loop! We had a great time! We stopped for lunch in Boulder City and rode back to the shop! What a day!!

JJ F.

Yelp
The service was very good prices and the owner is nice and gave the three of us cliff bars for the ride back home

A M.

Yelp
We wanted to ride the mountain loop trail and get outside. The River Mountain Bike Shop is right across the street from the trail entrance. The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable of the trail. We rented the electric bikes as they recommended - super hilly trail. We had a blast and the scenery is over the top. We will be back and recommend this shop & the trail!!

Paul D.

Yelp
These guys are awesome. We arrived at 9 without a reservation and Darren quickly set us up. We planned to ride the full river mountains loop (35 miles) and he gave us excellent info. The ride is so doable if you have a base level of fitness. There is climbing but as long as you take your time, it's good. We spent 6hrs on the trail stopping for lunch and photo ops. And that was with Birkenstocks. I think that if I really wanted to push, I could have done it in 2 1/5 hours. Bit take your time, pack a lunch, rent your bike from the guys at River Mountains Bikes and enjoy a fabulous day away from the Strip.j

Yelp
DO NOT TRUST the OWNER (David). He reneged on an agreed upon pricing for renting bikes to approx 10-12 cyclist in town to do some early season riding/training. The agreement was for $199.00 for 4 days (comes out to $50/per day). Some individuals got to Vegas early and picked up their bikes a day early so they upped the cost to $249.00 for those individuals. Apparently David thought is was a great opportunity to up the charges to $249.00 to everyone on the team whether they picked up the bike early or not. We tried to discuss in a civil manner to David but he immediately started berating and yelling that "this is how they do it in NY". Suffice to say we realized we weren't going to get anywhere with this "NY" guy so we are contacting the LV Better Business Bureau and other means to make sure David gets to deal with them with his "NY" ways of doing business. There are many great Bike shops in Las Vegas give any of them a chance before you call River Mountain Bike shop.
