We had the Zipline Canopy Tour a few weeks ago as a student field trip, and it was amazing experience - especially the last zipline over the water! We had so much fun and felt completely safe with all the gear and guide provided. Our group was quite large and had to be separated into smaller groups, but we still felt connected and enjoyed together. The staff were very supportive and helpful. They made the students feel comfortable, confident, excited to jump. Thank you, River Riders, especially, Claire, Nick and your team.

An amazing experience on the water. I recently tried the whitewater tubing adventure with River Riders and chose the larger individual tube with a bottom. They give you colored wristbands depending on what type of experience you pay for between group, individual tube or sit inside tubes (like the one I took). The trip lasted about 2.5 hours and was both scary and exciting — a real mix of adrenaline and fun. You are given a safety briefing and your life jacket before boarding the bus. The bus takes you to the drop in point where our tube and paddles were provided and then you are on your way. It’s definitely not just a float; the rapids require upper body strength and endurance, so be prepared for a workout. A few suggestions: bring only gear that can get wet, apply plenty of sunscreen, stay hydrated and bring a clear bag for your phone (if you want pictures or music). The ride itself is enjoyable, but the exit point could use improvement. Staff told us to look for a waterfall before the green bridge, but the waterfall isn’t visible from the water, and there’s no clear signage marking the takeout area. That added some stress to the finish of an otherwise great experience. Once you arrive there you have to hike your equipment up the trail to the place where the bus pickles you up. Overall, I’d recommend this for adventurous types who are ready for both fun and challenge.

Google
Amazing! Did the zipline canopy tour and kayaking on the water with my 12 year old son, we had a great time, fun, outdoors bonding! Great staff , very happy, hospitable and lots of jokes (dad jokes) Very recommended. The only drawback is it's a bit over priced, I would say it should be 20-25% less expensive

Lots of great activities to do at River Riders Family Adventure Resort including but not limited to water rafting, water tubing, zip lining across the Potomac River. If you are looking for an RV park then they also rent camping spaces and rv places out at Harper’s Ferry Campground campers may select riverside spots if desired. Vacation Cabins and Homes are also available for rent. Gorgeous views all around! Nature at its finest. Hiking trails and lots of nature to take in.

The location is great, and the views in the morning are beautiful. I stayed in the Riverview tent sites. I did have some minor issues with the service that could hopefully improve. The portable restroom by the site was not stocked with toilet paper, which i didn't realize until after I had sat down. I had a very awkward walk back to my site and then back to the toilet to take care of the mess. I was also the only tent camper, which I loved, but I was assigned a site that was hard gravel and the fire pit was against a hill, so I couldn't have a fire and watch the river. It was very difficult to put tent stakes into the hard ground. There was a site two places down that was on the river front with soft ground and amazing views. My pic is from that site. Im not sure why they don't assign sites better or tell me that no one else was reserved and u can pick a spot. I tried to call the office to ask, but it was after 5 but that time. I also stopped at the camp managers camper, but they were not around to ask. All that said it was a nice walk over to harpers ferry and the bathrooms up the hill are very nice.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience. We had great time with the amazing team. Our instructor and captain was Elijah who was very nice, fun and knowledgeable. Our crew was the most fun and most inspiring during the rafting. TBD is the best!

Google
We had such a great time whitewater rafting yesterday! Our guide, Brady, was fantastic—super knowledgeable about the river and surrounding area. He kept things fun while making sure my family always felt safe. We shared lots of laughs and had a blast riding the rapids!

Google
We visited in August 2025 and had a great time. 90 minutes went by really quickly so we’d prefer a 2 hour or 3 hour pass option. The inflatables were a blast. Staff was friendly, especially the life guards. A few more tables to store things on would be nice, or maybe they should sell a few less passes for each session. A few kids were running a little amuck, but some parents suck and won’t deliver necessary attitude adjustments, not much you can do. The blob/launch pillows always had long lines while people tried for five minutes to get into position on the pillow to be launched, oblivious to the fact that many other people were waiting on them. All in all we had a great time and there was plenty to do! We will hopefully be back again.

Yelp
We booked the flat water tubing experience. Their instructions say to come 1 hour before your appointment and that you're required to wear shoes with a strap around your ankles. However, this seems to only be a recommendation as we saw plenty of people with flip flops. They do have water shoes on sale if you need. You honestly only need to come like 30 min prior to the appointment. If you're early, you have to sit around and wait. After watching the safety video, they take you on a school bus to the drop off zone. There, they will have a lot of standard orange tubes as well as the premium blue tubes for you to take to the river. They didn't have a lot of staff at the entrance compared to the number of tubers so someone could take a premium tube without paying for it, but I guess they base it on the honor system. Floating down the river was relaxing. Be sure to apply sunscreen prior. The tubes also have a drink holder. A staff member was at the exit point to make sure everyone gets out and onto the bus going back.

Yelp
My son and I checked out the brand new water park. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I was surprised to see how large it felt. Check in was smooth. The staff was very friendly. Since this is the first summer it's been open, there's a couple connecting points that feel a little disjointed but not enough to discourage us from wanting to come back. I originally thought that 90 mins would feel like such little time but when you're on the obstacles or in the water, it feels like you're there longer. I do suggest for anyone not a minor to stretch before hand. You're slipping and sliding all over the place I'm sure I'm going to need an adjustment with a chiropractor. But well worth it.

Yelp
I had a great time! I did the low water tubing. Non swimmers, it's safe and you can stand in the water! It's a learning curb in the beginning as far as learning to control your tube however ppl are so nice, they don't mind you bumping them a bit! There are alot of ppl in the river however its a big river! My pics only reflect the end of the tubing adventure, where we got out. I was afraid to take pics in the water for fear that I would drop my phone. You can tie other tubes to yours if you want for a larger party or friends, or couples so that you don't drift away from each other. It's takes about 45-50 mins depending on the waters current. You can bring food, drinks. Some tie their tunes to tree to hang out a bit. You can make it a short trip or make a day of it! The staff is so helpful! The company that we used had a bus to take us 3 mins down the rode to where our adventure began. The waits aren't long. We went down the river twice. I was tied to my guy. Prices are reasonable , parking can be tricky, some areas are reserved. Its best to make reservations. We are definitely going again.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try tubing on the river. We went on a gloomy/rainy weekend. The ride from Silver Spring was a little over an hour. Our group chose the longest route. Not sure how long it should take because some of our group did not have paddles. Honestly, it was a fun experience. Don't forget your snacks and Bluetooth speaker. The views along the route are beautiful and very peaceful. I selected the basic tube without an a paddle. **High recommend getting the red tube that includes the paddle . Otherwise, you will find yourself stuck floating on the river or tired from using your hands to paddle . They also offer a rain jacket and pants available for rent. I used the rain jacket due to the rain and cooler weather. It helps to keep me warm and dry. Overall, I really enjoyed the visit. The staff was very accommodating. They have a separate locker room to change . A restaurant is available onsite on the top floor of the building. I highly recommend a visit. Can't wait to return in the winter to try snow tubing.

Yelp
Before I go in on this review here's something you should know about me. The only kind of waters I enjoy are Steamy hot shower water, Ice cold drinking water, and occasionally pool water. I'm not big on bugs, extended period in the sun, or open bodies of water. Truth be told when we took the bus down to the start of the river ride, I wqas like 2 seconds from backing out and going back up to the bar, but... I had a really good time. I got the Tube Tracker instead of the regular tube, so that kept my butt out of the water and my body about 65% dry, until I feel getting out at the end. I went in a large group, and i'll admit that there was some anxiety at play, but after the first 10 minutes you don't even mind the dragonflies mating on your arms and legs and you come to grips with the high unlikeliness that a crocodile, alligator, or pack of river otters may be lurking. We took a ton of pictures and I played music for the 2 hour ride. My kids got to splash around and have a great time and I got to be there to share the memory, it was great. I know that I kind of just jumped right in to being at the river, but we had no issues with booking or customer service. Everything ran really smooth. The ride was surprisingly more "Big Guy Friendly" than I thought it would be. I maybe felt my tube touch bottom twice, but I was never stuck. I was paddling circles around my family and friends, and the paddle gave me a fighting chance with an "river opps" that might try to slide.

Yelp
Did a canopy tour with my friends and we had a blast! The two staff members were great and very informative. The trail includes ziplines, ladders, and bridges. Highly recommend! Great views! Affordable prices!

Yelp
We rented a campsite #306. Riverview. Quiet. 2nd time staying there. Camp host helpful and nearby (on site). Totally recommend.

Yelp
Hubby and I did the white water tubing and the lazy river tubing. We did white water first and it was so fun. We rented the red tube that included a paddle. Idk how people did it without a paddle, honestly. White water was definitely the better experience for us. The lazy river one was fine, but kind of boring after just having experienced so much excitement. I was kind of nervous but it was really not scary at all. Everyone was so friendly and you just went at your own pace. I gave four stars because we were the very first group of the day and once we arrived at the river, there weren't enough red tubes for all of us who paid for them. A second truck came but there still wasn't enough. I could understand if it were later in the day, but being the very first group is unacceptable. There also weren't enough straps to tie your cooler to your tube. The equipment pickup was just so disappointing and unorganized. It was really fun though and I would definitely do it again.

Yelp
What an awesome experience zip lining with Gibson and Alex. Both of them exhibited professionalism and were a pleasure to zip with. It was an experience my family will always remember. We continued the following day with a riverboat run with CC. She was a book of knowledge regarding the river and local Lore. Very professional and a joy to have as a guide. It was an incredible day on the water. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
KUDOS FOR KYLE!!! Kyle was our raft guide today and I can't say we would've wanted anyone else. At least we felt super privileged as he did excellent in leading us perfectly into the good spots and helped us have a great (safe) time!! (All while taking care of the rest of the group for safety.) He was efficient, knowledgeable and a great leader. So much fun! Thanks Kyle, you're da best! - The Fairchilds from DC

Yelp
Jeff made the day! He got a nervous 5 some singing by the end of the trip and definitely wanting to come back.

Gabby N.

Yelp
I went flat water tubing with a big group, and the experience was nice--took us about an hour and a half due to a faster than normal current. I'd recommend bringing/buying something to tether your group together--we drifted far apart easily in the beginning and it took a lot of effort to get together again. The check in counters had employees drifting around and lines would get held up on customers frequently. While checking in, I asked multiple times about where to collect my rental cooler, and I was told that it would be available to me at the starting point. When I got there, all that was available were rafts for the cooler to sit in. When I asked again where the coolers were, I was told that I needed to buy a cooler at the check in point that we had already shuttled away from. So despite paying for a floating cooler and a bag of ice, I was left with melted ice and warm drinks in an uninsulated raft. If you do pay to rent the Floatable Cooler, just know that you're essentially just paying for a raft--bring your own cooler to put in or be prepared to buy one.

Yelp
This snow tubing place is enjoyable! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it became pretty busy toward the end of my visit. I was there from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., and by 11:00 a.m., it got so crowded that we only managed to go down the hill two more times in the last 30 minutes. I believe that if there were breaks between the time slots, we would have been able to enjoy it more. Overall, it is a fantastic way to spend your winter day!

Yelp
From the check-in to the bus ride to the location, this place runs on a system that was absolutely perfect. I have never been tubing on the river and was really excited to give it a try. This is a relaxing way to not only enjoy the sun, but to see some cool greenery scenery! This was my favorite outing so far this summer we ended up here as it was a group trip put on by our Crossfit gym. It was really fun floating next to people I know, but don't always get to talk to for extended periods of time. Also, I am kind of a scaredy-cat if I'm being honest and at no point did I think I was in any danger. Most of the water you could stand up in. I recommend bringing a healthy amount of snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and such. I say that because you were going to be on the river for a while. we pushed off at 11:37 and we got out of the river at 4:37. Even though we took about a 30 minute break or so I don't think that time would have varied much. It's definitely a slow day to just chill out and enjoy the scenery, I recommend bringing a waterproof speaker , plenty of sunscreen, your favorite sunnies and someone you can vibe with. I will definitely be back! West Virgina is so beautiful wild and wonderful!!

Angie M.

Yelp
not enough instruction on where to get your tube out. They should have signs or indicators way before you get into the current that takes you under the green bridge. there was no sign to to get out. it was fun but very frustrating and dangerous not to mark the "out" well. River riders make enough money to afford a couple big banners.

Kaitlyn G.

Yelp
My friend and I had a great time. We got there late and they let us go with the next group with no issues. One of our tubes did end up popping but we called the number and they sent someone to us with a new tube and then we kept on our way. It was a bit difficult at times but not terrible.

Peter C.

Yelp
Jeff is very knowledgeable and made the rafting experience enjoyable and educational. Johnny, Collin, and Delacy made the zip line a lot of fun for everyone. Would recommend to a friend if I had any friends

Joe J.

Yelp
We did flat water tubes on Sunday and Zip lines on Monday. Our guides in zip line, Alec and Alex were exceptional when a 6 year old guest list confidence. They were fun and professional- I highly recommend and absolutely would trust these guides with the safety of my family! Great time!

Camille W.

Yelp
Went zip lining with my boyfriends family and had an absolute blast! Our guides (Laney, Liam, and Garret) were incredible. Making sure we were all having fun and staying safe. After our tour had completed, we went back to the Alehouse to get some food. I had lost one of my rings which fell under the patio onto a platform under the patio. I went inside the Alehouse to see if anyone would be able to help me. A very nice gentleman named Ian offered to help and he went under the patio to grab my ring for me. The service at this establishment is top notch and the employees are incredible and genuinely care about your experience. 10/10 would definitely recommend and would definitely go back!

Yelp
Checked in went to camp sight. Nice view but no cell service which was important for work. Also wasn't aware they had WiFi. I know the sight says three day no cancellation but in this situation where there's no cell service they should make an exception. Anyway can't recommend. I do have a credit available for the next year which starts now sept 30 2024 and good till sept 30 2025. Please contact me! My reply to River riders Yes my wife didn't mention it was the cell service that was the problem. She was confused by what was happening because there was no service on phone. We had to leave the campground to make a call to the office. Sorry we didn't explain the problem correctly. At this point with what was going on, maybe they could have made an exception. Anyway we'll right if off and call it a day. As far as a credit, it serves us no purpose. We were just passing through for the first time and probably our last. If anyone can deal without cell service for the three days, please contact me and I will sale you this reservation at a discounted rate. I'm sure someone would enjoy. Update. I've been informed that the credit is nontransferable. How convenient! So they get to keep my 278.00. My advice is to go to koa much better place and only 140.00 for the same amount of nights. I'll definitely be talking to my credit card company. Ps lame excuse was in appropriate language was used. I'm pretty sure my wife never said a foul word. Can't wait to see what they have to say to this review.

Yelp
what a great experience white water rafting for the first time with our kids! River riders was organized and on time despite it being a very busy Saturday. Our guide Billy was friendly, and fabulous at getting us down the river safely while having fun riding the Big rapids. We had four kids- two 10 yrs olds, 12 and 14 as well as my husband and myself, everyone had SO much fun'

Yelp
PROS -River Riders is one of the few tubing companies in Harpers Ferry that allows your to BYOB while tubing -Affordable pricing -Large parking lot & free -You can bring your own tube, tube ties, and cooler to save some $ -Buses pick up every 30 minutes so you can come & go at your leisure -There is food and alcohol available for purchase on-site -Many offerings such as tubing, zip-lining, canoeing & ore CONS -Everything is very chaotically run: You will have to ask multiple people to know where to go. We almost missed our reservation because they didn't know how to check us in properly, so we did it twice. They were going to leave without us (biggest con) -Ditch the upgrades: regardless of whether you pay extra you may not get that fancy tube due to lack of inventory & worn tubes -Dirty: Buses and tubes pick up a lot of dirt from entering & exiting the water
google avatar

Rediah G.

Yelp
We went with our kids and were told at the front that kids can go by themselves to the adventure park but once our kids got up there they asked where are your parents. They would not refund us or allow the parents to accompany their kids. Never going back!

Diana K.

Yelp
Campsites very small, expensive Very disappointing . Early check in policy a scam for a tent campsite.

Yelp
I went here for my partner's best friend's birthday party a while ago. It was alright, though my partner and I did get very burnt despite the sunscreen and semi-cloudy weather. We ran into people a lot which is kind of expected. Luckily most people we ran into were nice. There were big groups of people who'd actively block us in a horizontal line though which was annoying. What I wasn't prepared for the most there was the sheer intensity of the damn rocks we'd hit and slip on at various speeds. I'm small and light for an adult with only core strength which causes me to lose control more easily at times. Holding on tightly to each other for 4 hours was tiring, and losing each other made me anxious especially since I didn't know everyone there. At the end of , me and some friends of the group were actively paddling to reach the end. With this review I understand that my experience may be isolated as others may have had a better understanding of what was to come and whatnot. This is just my personal experience i'm sharing. Hopefully others have a better time than I did then. Thanks for reading, have a good day.

Yelp
River Riders is a very well managed place and is full of a lot of fun activities with plenty of staff around to help you and guide you through different activities. I cannot find anything to complain about. Honestly my experience of tubing was absolutely smooth and I had a lot of fun with my friends. I really hope people who visit this place take care of their trash because I saw some mess here and there which breaks my heart.

Beth W.

Yelp
We rented the expensive tubes called the tracking tube. We hadn't hit rocks or branches, but out in the middle of the river two of them, at the same time, developed holes in the top by the handles. The yellow plastic paint stripe got all over our legs and clothes too. We did as instructed and went to the road. Another company stopped and gave us two of their tubes and took our popped ones. We then got to rest for about an hour, when we saw a River Riders employee call out to us to guide us to the take out. Then she started yelling at us in a mean way..."Your bus is here." "No one's going to be waiting on you." We thought we were really late. She kept speaking rudely and I couldn't believe it. I had a paddle and we were clearly headed toward the takeout. She was so rude, one of us jumped out to pull us all in faster. Then the bus driver said,"What's this we got two different companies here." That was AFTER we explained that we had two popped tubes. I thought the other company was so helpful and had no problem helping us but River riders were irritated. THEN we stood out of the bus for a good while realizing we were indeed NOT late or even the last to fill the bus! He told us to get on the hot bus and then he counted how many of us there were...maybe 25 on a bus that carries 55. The poor people he loaded before us had been on the bus who knows how long. A head count can be taken in the shade of the trees just as easily. The only thing said to us, as we were un hooking our tubes and after hearing two tubes popped was, "apologizes," conveyed in an irritating manner. I told it was not a good way to end the trip by being yelled at. No tips. Won't use that company again. The girl at the counter who was helping everyone in the chaos of the crowd and registration was wonderful, helpful with a beautiful kind disposition.

Yelp
Ask about the river levels & the category/quality of the rapids. Work with the staff was excellent!

Yelp
We booked a white water rafting trip (combined with their Adventure Park as part of the Adventure Pass combo) with River Riders as part of our trip to nearby Washington DC. The rafting operation is quite organized. Safety briefing, outfitting, transportation to the let-in location. Our guide, Maddie, was great! It was a smooth trip - she explained what would happen, gave great instructions, was encouraging, conversational, and made it a fun trip. The Adventure Park was slightly less organized, but those in our group who did the courses had a lot of fun! We would definitely go back!

Loïc H.

Yelp
I've been a tubing return customer for the past 4 or 5 years, going once or twice per summer with a group of friends. Both flat-water and whitewater rapids. The staff and team here are great, they're knowledgeable and their safety instructions will ensure you're safe on the river. I see a lot of lower reviews here complaining about some common sense things like checking the weather, and being aware of the rainfall that has happened over the past few weeks which affects water levels... or complaining about getting injured on the rocks which is part of the risks you accept when going on the river. My deduction in 2 stars here is simple: both river segments have gotten progressively worse year over year in terms of trash & river cleanliness. I don't feel like this is enforced enough, and to me, if you're a business making a profit from services on the river, then you have a responsibility to help keep it clean. Adding more strict information about this during the safety talk before people get on the buses would also help. We always bring a large mesh bag we attach to our float to pick up what we can, but this year the flat-water segment in particular was disgusting from beginning to end - and the sides of the river were absolutely lined with trash. I'm not saying this is 100% River Riders' fault (in fact there are several tubing businesses on the same river segments), but it definitely affects me wanting to come back next year. They all need a river cleaning program of some sort.

Yelp
Booked a campsite in October. Beautiful river side camp next to the Potomac. However, we were not impressed by the facilities. Showers and bathroom stalls were not updated, clean, and barely functional - and quite the walk from our campsite. A portable bathroom trailer was closer- but rather disgusting and small. Spacing in between campsites were tight, especially being cramped next to an RV. The train running through the night 30 yards away was an unpleasant surprise, that literally shook our tent. We did not participate in any adventure programs while visiting, simply a space to sleep and we were disappointed.

Yelp
Been here twice now. First time was taking our nephew ziplining. Second time my wife and I went flat water tubing on the Shenandoah River at Harpers Ferry. First the zipline course: its a canopy style tour with several zips from 200 to 1000 ft. in length, ladder climbs, and a free fall rappel from the final platform. Good views of he Potomac River and the Harpers Ferry Water Gap. Gear is solid and the staff are great. For water tubing, we were on water for a little over an hour. They have the basic donut shaped tubes, but we went with Tube Tracker, which is more of a kayak style tube with a paddle. Super fun and relaxing. Reservations can be made online or you can walk in. Customer service has been great both times. Prices are neither cheap nor high. Will definitely come back for the other adventures.

Yelp
I have been to the adventure park three times now and every time I've been it's been a great experience. The most recent time our guide, Gabby, was very kind and explained all the other activities they offer as well as give good recommendations for routes.

Janet S.

Yelp
Overpriced and not organized. I reserved the cabin online and when I got my email it didn't show right for the days I wanted. I called them and they stated what was online wasn't correct because it was a holiday weekend. I don't understand why they don't show the correct amounts during the holiday weekend. I got an invoice stating I owed another 299 dollars, but they charged me another 384 dollars instead. They tried charging me twice for the linen package as well as the firewood package. We showed up and checked in and they had no idea what I ordered. They had my check in there but when I mentioned I purchased firewood, they sent me to two different people and got a small even though I ordered a large. I had to cancel the tubing event in plenty of time. I knew I would be charged 15 dollars per person but did not think they would charge me taxes on something I already paid taxes on. The plumbing both at the cabin and the bath house was the worst. Very overrated and overpriced. Cleanliness is not the best. Found a lollipop and a weed vape in the bunk beds. Coffee maker took an hour to make one pot of coffee.

Yelp
River Rider's Campground is F%^ing terrible. The tent spaces are on top of each other. The campground host is not present on the campground. The campground is not enforcing the rule of 2 people per campsite and there is a group of 7 people blaring music, drunk and swearing from the time we arrived at 3 PM to now which is long last 2 AM. No staff is intervening even when requested. River Rider's doesn't pick up their phone. The other guests are so drunk and rowdy and loud it feels unsafe. This isn't a place for peace and quiet and there is no oversight.

Yelp
We were on site 311. This review is strictly about the CAMPING part of River Riders. Warning to future guests, take their website seriously when they mention the cars honking horns 24/7. Their two river "view" sites are to be avoided. Better suited for 21' or under driveables. VERY difficult to navigate getting in and out w/a camper trailer (took us at least 20 minutes to get out of). We had feral cats conversing under our camper window in the wee hours of the night. The sites are packed in w/no privacy between. Ours was very narrow, not allowing the picnic table to be next to the camper, but in front of it. The internet was non existent on site 311 due to a hill between the router and the site. We could not even text. Old window style AC units on cabins next to us provided a lot of white noise :(. The two hour window to check in (2-4) is a little odd. If you check in 15 minutes early (to a campsite that was supposed to be vacated by 11:00am) they'll charge you an extra $15. WAY over priced. All that said the employees are phenomenal.

Yelp
Me and my buddy had a lot of fun-- we had to do the two hour ride on the Potomac instead of the 3 hour ride on Shenandoah because of water levels. Caroline was the best and the whole River Riders crew was awesome. Just make sure you know going into this that it's a fun excursion out on the water but *very* little white water and is not much of a thrill if that's what you're seeking.

Yelp
Our group loved our experience with river riders! We camped and rafted with the company and would definitely recommend it! Camping: We stayed in one of the cabins on the campground (C3) and it was perfect for our group of five. We did need to get an air mattress but we had no other problems. The cabin had a nice small kitchen area but the fire pit was the best part. We cooked in the fire grate and had a beautiful view of the river. We also got cheap rafts at Walmart and floated on the river right by the cabin. Rafting: The rafting was a fun experience. We had Danny boy as our guide in our boat and he was a lot of fun. He knew the river very well and was funny at the same time. We had some first timers in our group and it was perfect for them as well as entertaining for people who have done it before.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this tubing experience and kinda wish we purchased the all day pass. When I go again, I'd try to stay more to the middle to avoid rocks and probably go earlier in the season when the water is deeper. Either way, it was still a lot of fun. I deducted one star because my friends tube deflated part way through and the communication with the office to get a new tube was difficult. At the end of the trip, they did refund us for her float so that definitely made up for it. Fun lil day trip from Alexandria!

Yelp
I was traveling south for work and stopped in this historical area to hike and take in the scenery. Found this rafting company and booked a ride. So much fun! Gwen, our guide, did a wonderful job and made it a lot of fun too! Will be back soon for sure. Thank you Gwen!

Yelp
This review is for the campground. I'm giving an extra star because we were able to check in early due to an emergency. We paid extra for a clifftop tent site with view of the river - there was no view, only trees. The tent sites were not level. Our neighbors were extremely noisy both during the day and throughout the night. They were up blasting music and talking very loudly until 4am; no exaggeration! The restrooms needed more cooling and ventilation for the hot, humid summertime. You can hear cars honking incessantly because of the nearby single-lane tunnel. The train, which is very close by and runs frequently, is loud 24/7. The campground store was in a semi-truck's metal trailer, but it did sell ice and expensive firewood. Overall, we were very unimpressed and will not be returning.

Yelp
On 6/22/24, one of my fellow tubers from our Facebook group lost her keys. She wasn't sure if she lost them out on the water or in the surrounding area. She was obviously distraught because she was from out of town and was using her parents' vehicle. A few of the riders stayed with her while staff members helped her search for her keys, and to no avail, her keys were never located. Luckily, one employee came through for her by offering the services of a locksmith that he knew. The locksmith quoted her a price and came within a reasonable amount of time, and made her a spare key so that she could get home safely. Thank you so much, Cade, for saving the day as well as all of the staff members who were so patient and willing to assist. Definitely check out River Riders if you're ever in the area or want a fun adventure.

Yelp
When we arrived at the counter to check in for our one tent campsite the workers encountered an issue with us having a party of five instead of the recommended 4 (2 kids 2 adults) it got to the point where they asked if we wanted to speak to the manager because we were not looking to pay for an extra tent site as we all fit comfortably in the one tent hence why we purchased a one tent site. So as we were speaking to the manager, he proceeded to use what most would classify as a yell and an overall aggressive louder tone saying how it's more about how many people versus how many tents, which goes against what the website says as the website states, "Our river front and river view tent sites are for 2 adults & 2 dependent children/1 tent MAX." The way this was interpreted on our end was that if we had more than 4 total people it was okay as long as we had one tent, either way we do not feel as though we deserved to be yelled at. While yelling at us he explained how more than four people could be "disruptive" so some insight into just how "disruptive" we really were, we were all in the tent sound asleep by 9:45 PM which is more than reasonable for a Saturday night in July. Around 11:30 PM we were rudely awakened by a domestic dispute stemming between two people from the neighboring cabin site, as well as that cabin had been playing music at what I would consider an extreme volume. I find this ironic as the manager was worried about us being "disruptive" but i found us to be the disrupted. Very disappointing considering this site is a beautiful campground, but is being held back by management being focused on how many people vs how many tents. PS: Not to mention how this site is very close to train tracks that run at night that are also disruptive but you're right manager man 5 people really is disruptive!

Yelp
Canopy Tour was top-notch- guides were patient, calm, encouraging and very safety conscious. Great set of runs. We did the 10:30 run, but had to wait for several kids in their kid camp, so maybe ask about timing if you have something planned for the afternoon. Enjoyed the tubing, but take note on head wind days and go ahead an pay extra for paddles or a 2-3 hour trip will turn into 5- still beautiful, peaceful and exilarating. Suggestion: In your video, take a picture of the pick up point- using the verbiage "Right " before gave us the impression it was right under the bridge- there is a clearing...with a path- so a video of the spot would be helpful or even drop a pin for those carrying phones.

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Way overpriced, unsafe conditions even in the lazy river. The water level was absurdly low so we were constantly getting stuck on the rocky riverbed. Every member of our party got scraped up terribly and I got a huge gash in my hand from tripping on the jagged rocks while trying to exit the river. There is no one available to help you if you're stranded or injured. At least my innertube waited until the last few minutes of my experience to spring a leak.

Yelp
Ben was the best guide ever! Highly recommend! Thanks for going beyond expectations. Despite rain and storms coming, he was professional and still made an enjoyable trip.

Yelp
This time I came back with a group of friends, we did white water tubing and ziplining. The experience was great! We booked our tickets ahead of time online.Tubing was at 9:45 AM, checking in an hour early, and then the bus drove us to the drop off point. We left three hours in between tubing and ziplining booking , it was perfect. We showered , grabbed lunch, and came back just in time for ziplining. Compared to our last experience white water tubing , it was a breeze. I recommend everyone buy water shoes before coming here, upgrade to the floaty with a paddle, and bring sunscreen. The ziplining was a new experience for most of us, it was definitely worth it the money. Our instructors Mac and Dakota were amazing! They were funny and made us feel comfortable the entire time. Loved their dynamic. We basically ziplined for about 2-3 hours increasing in length, speed, and skills. We climbed to get to higher lines and even got to zipline near the river! Come here for a smooth experience in Harper's Ferry.
