UPDATE!: thank you so much to the owner for reaching out to me and taking swift action prior to my review. I’m so excited to go back and patronize! ————— This review is about an employee at the store and not about River street as every time and patronize the store, the service and desserts are always amazing! This is about one specific employee and I’m very upset about the experience I had the other night with a worker there and had never experienced anything like this in my life. I walked into River street at 10:30pm as the door was open and got behind a customer at the register as I was just going to grab a pretzel and rice krispy. A young African American male comes up to me telling me that he can’t help me because they’re closed. Confused because they don’t close until 11pm, the door was open and there will still other patrons were in the store and purchasing desserts, I brought that up to him and it was met with aggression. As a woman who goes in there often alone as I live in the area, I was looking side to side to see if someone was going to come to my defense the way he began raising his voice telling me it didn’t matter, just leave. In shock, something told me to start recording for my safety, I just kept asking if this was really happening and was he serious. He then said he’d call the cops on me, so I said “okay”. He took off immediately and then came back with the cops who were also confused as to why they were there. I began crying because I just couldn’t believe someone would treat another human this way, he then comes out and says that he’ll give me a free pretzel(which confused me and the cops even more). Mind you, I have all of this on video and looking back over it, I’m disgusted even more by this young man’s behavior and I’m honestly scared and embarrassed to even go back there in fear of this employee being there. I have debated posting the video on my TikTok and Instagram and am still processing this internally. Like I said, the customer service and desserts are always 10/10! This is about the one employee that met my questions (with a calm demeanor) with aggression and threats. The cop even mentioned that he didn’t know why he was trying to kick me out when the door was still open and it wasn’t even time for them to close up yet. It seemed as if he was trying to leave early as erratic as he was acting. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name (I was just processing that this was really happening) but this is what he looks like. Please beware of him you guys and I strongly suggest that River street takes action to prevent anything similar happening to another woman!

My family and I love to stop here every time we visit this area and get a treat. We love the fudge and pralines.

Google
Pebbles and Grant were the BEST! Pebbles greeted me immediately walking in even while she was stirring. She stopped and gave me a hot fresh sample. It has been about 3 years. Glad to see that the customer service was on point and so is these pralines. I prefer the regular over the chocolate. I did the buy a lb and get half free.

I have waited 17 years to get back here. The last time it was in a mall. I came from Alabama. Online it said they were open. I made it there beyond excited. They were closed for maintenance. Make sure you call if you are traveling.

Google
A pretty nice shop of handmade streets. Not all that expensive and tastes pretty good.

Google
They have the best candy apples ever. They have some great tasting pralines candy also. They have a broad variety of candy to choose from. The customer service was appreciated as well thank you.

Google
It was all delicious BUT it is ridiculous how expensive a turtle or praline costs. Like one small circle of peanuts with white chocolate was $16. So I would not say it is not worth the money but it tastes good. I probably won’t go again though.

Yelp
We had just finished having dinner at the Battery and decided to get some pralines; the place smell great! BUT there is no price menu. We asked the employee how much was the cost of a pound of pralines and he said he could not tell us the price because it was by weight. REALLY? If you work there you should know the price of ONE pound. But more importantly the prices should be posted; it's like going to a restaurant with no prices. Pralines were good but way overpriced. I did notice that there was a price menu for the ice creams...

Yelp
Finished having dinner and was checking out all the cool places in the Battery and came across this candy store. Went in and it had a steady flow of customers coming in and out but wasn't overwhelming. Everything was very neat, clean and well organized. I grabbed a half pound of assorted candy and it may or may not be gone already . All really fresh. I'd come back.

Yelp
This place smells yummy! I felt like I had been to somewhere similar and turns out I had been. There's a location off of Broadway in Nashville, TN. This location is smaller but still has lots of yummy treats and goodies. It's located in the Battery in Atlanta, GA. My friend and I just looked around. Neither one of us bought anything; I think because we had just finished a delicious brunch at a nearby restaurant. The staff appeared to be hard at work. Unfortunately, no one greeted us or asked if we needed any assistance. Overall, this was a cool little adventure. I am happy to know that this candy shop exists and is in closer proximity than the one in Nashvegas!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The staff was friendly and helpful. With so many options to choose from it could be overwhelming but they explained everything well and had great recommendations. The candy was amazing. I got the chocolate covered praline, some chocolate pecan clusters, and two chocolate key lime truffles. Everything was amazing! I havent had a good praline since i was in New Orleans at Loretta's. The shop itself is livelt and colorful. It has a fun atmosphere and definitely can bring out the kid in anyone. I def I recommend

Yelp
River Street Sweets is a candy and sweets shop at The Battery. If the store's doors are open, customers can just smell the sweetness flowing out toward The Battery walkway. The store isn't that big, but it has a lot of product packed in there, and still has space for customers to walk through without running into each other. Lots of sweets here: a wall full of unpackaged loose candies that customers can dispense by themselves from canisters and bins (at $16.95 per lb!); ice cream and gelato scooped up by employees; hand dipped candy and caramel apples, and Rice Krispy treats; various flavors of fudge; sweets made with fruits; hand made chocolate clusters and candies; their "World Famous Pralines" and so much more! The owners should train all of their employees how to provide great customers service. Only one of the four employees that I saw was actually assisting customers. This guy was helping all of the customers, answering their questions, scooping up ice cream and gelato, and other tasks, while the other three even disappeared off of the sales floor for a while, leaving only one employee helping about 15 customers (not all together). R stopped another of the employees to tell her he wanted to get a caramel apple, and she turned to the busy employee and told him to assist R, and then she disappeared from the floor. This store has a lot of sweets and candies that many people love, but I think that most of the items are overpriced, especially the $16.95 per pound candies along the candy wall. Customers dispense or select the candies by themselves, and there is a scale to determine the weight of the candies, but, seriously, you still have to pay for everything you've already dispensed, so keep this in mind when dispensing candies from the canisters.

Yelp
I love this place 1000%. If I'm at the battery, pralines are a absolute must for me. They're delicious, fresh and good!! I get the original pralines every time and try a new one each time. The original is my favorite. The turtles are next.

Yelp
Myself and a date came into the Braves location store on Tuesday, April 16 around closing time. Instead of being rushed or hurried out (like some other places nearby) we received excellent service from the staff and more specifically a store employee "Cal". Cal took the time to answer my date's questions about the difference between gelato and ice cream and he even offered her several samples until she made her final selection. We are new to the area from out of town and will be returning to get our sweet tooth fixes on our date nights, hopefully, we will get to be served by Cal again.

Yelp
Quick friendly service for a Wednesday afternoon! Had exactly what I've been craving and then some! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Every time I go to the battery I go in this store. I'm a sucker for their pralines but they also have so many delicious treats in there. Even today I went in with a friend that got some goodies and I just salivated in the smells. Delicious.

Yelp
Came here for ice cream and just browsing with the kids while waiting for our movie time. I'm giving them four stars because the kids enjoyed themselves and the staff was nice and friendly. However this place had a 87 health score and I was scared. But we had passed on the other ice cream shop for this one because Savanhaa's had more kid friendly flavors. I bought a prepackaged pecan log and a bottle of water. My daughter enjoyed her birthday cake & cotton Candy ice cream cup. There's outdoor seating, but it's for the Battery in general. It's a cute tourist type of place. If they had a better score I would have tried some of there in house Candy, treats, or ice cream.

Yelp
River Street Sweets is located in the heart of the Battery and while they are famous for their pralines, they have a plethora of other things that are sure to satisfy that sweet tooth! Parking - The Battery is full of decks, but the Red Deck is the easiest in my opinion. River Street is a small place, but they definitely pack a lot into this place including a Jelly Bean and candy wall where you package yourself and pay per pound, a souvenir candy wall with prepackaged favorites, gelato and ice cream station, sweet treat counter where they have macarons, chocolates, rock candy and more, and of course they have the famed praline station where you can see the magic happen as they make them and countless other items right in front of you! Additionally, they have tables set up around that have random gift sets and such as well. We have ventured in for the candy wall and ice cream on occasion, and I cannot resist a good chocolate peanut cluster! The ice cream/gelato is always quite tasty and the chocolate is fantastic. My partner loves the candy wall as he gets carried away easily and ends up with a pound of random gummies quicker than he realizes! Overall, River Street is a great candy store and fits perfectly in the Battery. My only gripe is pricing...as it can get really pricey really quick here. There has been times where we have walked out with a scoop of gelato and a bag of gummies and spent close to $40. So, this is certainly a special occasion type of place for us!

Yelp
Never seen so much candy. Awesome selection of all kinds of sweet things that would send me straight to a sugar coma. Nice clean store and staff seems to be friendly too. But one thing was missing???? Wanted to get my Hubby some black licorice, and I was told that "It is the least liked licorice, and they do not carry it." What candy store does not carry Black licorice.??????
google avatar

Kiah R.

Yelp
Nice store if you want sweets. They have everything from ice cream to truffles to candy. The store is small but clean. The fastest way to get to it is to park in the red deck. Parking is free for 2 hours except on game or event days.

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop that sells a variety of ice creams to my demise (I have to lay off the sugar). But it satisfies the sweet tooth. On a hot summer day, nothing will do but a good ol' fashioned milkshake, ice cream cone, or a few scoops in a cup So if you are ever at The Battery on Cobb Parkway, stop right on in and grab yourself a slice/scoop/cup/cone of heaven I love Pralines and Cream but they only sell Pralines Ice Cream...no worries every bite satisfied my Praline craving...the ice cream was fresh and smooth The service was 100%...I was greeted right away, COVID protocols were followed, and the store was clean Go get yourself some ice cream, and enjoy

Yelp
While we were waiting for a table at the Yard House in the Battery, we stopped into River Street Sweets. Patrick enticed us with a free sample of warm, fresh pralines. They were amazing. We also sampled a few flavors of gelato. Everything tasted great. After trying the praline samples, Sidney enticed us to purchase some. I had intended on purchasing one, but Sidney convinced me to buy two. They were soft and super sweet. The prices are a little high in the candy store, but the fresh pralines are definitely worth it. I'll be back the next time I visit the Battery.

Yelp
I'm from Charleston so I'm no stranger to pralines. The pralines from River Street Sweets/Savannah's Candy Kitchen are very good and can satisfy the strongest of sweet teeth! Those of us from the lowcountry know that praline shops are generous with the free samples, and there's no exception here. Today was opening day and as I walked up I was greeted by plenty of smiles & lots of buzz. You can walk right to the praline window to get your sample before perusing the rest of the store. I ordered a dark chocolate covered praline and a giant rice krispie treat. I'm not even a rice krispie fan but it was really good! This is certainly a fun, yummy sweet shop to visit.

Yelp
My friend is obsessed with their caramel apples, so I've been here several times. I've tried both the caramel apples, and the pralines. The caramel apples are my favorite. The apples are always fresh and crisp, insanely huge, and the caramel tastes homemade. We always get ours covered in pecans. I'm deducting 1 start for customer service. I think they hire people who lack some common sense. For example, we asked for the apple to be cut, and the person behind the counter looked confused and said he couldn't do it. We had to remind him that the store has an entire machine for this purpose. They may need more training. Also, I wish they had a salted pecan option that would be a nice touch for the caramel apple. Nonetheless, those caramel apples are incredible.

Yelp
This place has everything sweets! From ice cream to chocolates to pretzels and pralines. Wow! Let's just say you can't come in here without getting something or everything. I went in for a chocolate treat and left with having tried a praline some pretzels, bark, and dipped marshmallows. The service was great, the man at the stand was so kind and patient with us since it was our first time there. He even offered us a sample of the praline, which I had never tried. Honestly such a sweet treat having come in here, I didn't expect it. Thanks for creating and having some sweet treats and service!

Yelp
The Pralines are thee best! Candied apples are amazing. Reminds me of Savannah every time!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Stopped by for pralines. Used to live in Savannah for a few years and always loved going to River Street specifically for this store for the sweets/pecans. So much to choose from...how can you leave empty handed. Everyone wore a mask. They will fill your bags with your choice of whatever you choose. Also got multi sour belts.

Drew S.

Yelp
This is the absolute best place in the battery to go get ice cream and candy. If you haven't tried the banana pudding ice cream it is highly recommended.

Yelp
River Street Sweets: Savannah Candy Kitchen in the Battery Opening Day February 7, 2020! Wow! I had an amazing experience at this of River Street Sweets. I have perviously visited the location in Savannah, and though this location is much smaller, it is much better in my opinion. They have a wide variety of homemade sweets and treats including Freshly-dipped candy apples, rice crispy treats, all types of pralines, gelato and much more. Also, this location has an entire wall of over 50 types of candy. You can fill your own bag of candy for $15.99 per pound. They also have lots of individually wrapped candy, most of which is hard to find anywhere else. This location handled their opening day of this location very well. They were fully staffed, and were giving out free pralines. I had a great experience at River Street Sweets, and can't wait to visit this location again soon!

Yelp
Ice cream was good, but the cashier looked like she was either mad with an attitude, no smile. Pretty disappointed.

Yelp
Our go to place for the pralines I love! A little bit pricey, but, omg, they are my favorite treat!
google avatar

Yelp
A very beautiful place with a nice set up! Variety of different sweets and more. That's what the two stars are for. I wish there were more options as far as the candy though however, the sour candy that my bf got were yummy. Anyways, the short stubby young lady working on Thursday, December 31st around 9:30PM was extremely rude. I asked her for a dark chocolate pretzel which I was excited for until she ruined it for me and I didn't even get it. She was being sarcastic and made it seem like I was being the slow one. She saw me standing right in front of the pretzel I wanted and continued to ask me "which one" as if I was standing next to any other! Then, after she grabbed it, she rolled her eyes and gave a slick look to the cashier to further instigate the situation. I'm sure she was talking smack after I left but that's fine because I didn't buy the pretzel after all.

Yelp
Two words--KETO CRUSHER, but so worth it!!! The aroma of the caramel and butter will draw you in!!

Maureen N.

Yelp
Stopped by this charming candy shop while visiting Atlanta and got a cup of ice cream, chocolate dipped rice crispy treats, and chocolate caramel pecan candy. Everything was amazing, especially the ice cream! I tried some of their praline and it was fantastic, I would have bought some but already had my other treats. I normally don't shop at candy stores but this was well worth the visit.

Delores G.

Yelp
I love River Street Sweets and decided to visit the store in Atlanta at the Battery today. The customer service was awful! I bought a caramel apple and wanted to get pralines too. I mentioned this to the girl that was assisting me. She went over to an old tray of pralines as I was looking at some fresh ones. She then added two of the pralines to the scale and proceeded to ring me up. She never bothered to ask how many I wanted or if these were the pralines that I wanted. I took the bag and left knowing that I would NEVER return. First time going to this location and I will go out of my way to visit any other store but this one! The receipt shows the name as Will W but not sure if that's who helped me.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
I had toffee and a peanut butter cup from here. Both were great! The peanut butter cup was over priced at $8

Taeleab J.

Yelp
I went in because I love dipped apples. When I approached the counter the lady act as if she did not see me initially. When I asked for an apple she did a deep sigh as if I was bothering her. She had a nasty attitude and was not welcoming or inviting to me at all. I continued to be polite and have manners, although her attitude sucked. If you don't want to work in a customer service place maybe you should choose another profession. Her name was Jasmine!! I hope she gets her attitude in check. Smh
