Google
Hands down the best restaurant and best food I've had in a restaurant in a year. This place is simple, clean in its setting but the food is outstanding and delicious. Do yourself a favor and try the food, made fresh and hot while you wait in Rivera 's Restaurant. They have a variety of dishes and flavors on the menu. It was difficult to make a selection. Everything I ordered was phenomenal. Lomo saltado mixto with red beans and rice was so flavorful! Tamales de elote were sweet and yummy. I was surprised to find atole available and had hot and sweet atole de elote. And super happy with the fried yucca! Prices were fair and portions were generous! Staff was so friendly, professional, and kind! I will definitely be returning and trying more dishes.

Google
A gem in the Springfield area. Delicious take on some stapel Hispanic dishes that will satisfy some of your cravings. We've gone here twice in the past week and I'm sure we'll visit again soon. Location is easy to find and there's plenty of seating. Staff is friendly and very attentive. The portions were much larger than I expected and we ordered way too much food, so there were some delicious leftovers. The steak tacos were awesomely seasoned, yuca fries with pork chunks were gone quickly because they were made just right. A large portion of sliced plantains we're enough for three people to share and they also have plantains with beans, rice and sour cream. The second trip we got the fajita style steak and it had a great flavor, not your typical steak flavor. This is a great little restaurant that will impress you with quick and friendly service.

Google
I went to Rivera’s Restaurant today and I had the most amazing food. The plato tipico was delicios. We had flan and atol de elote everything was tasty. I was told that el lomo saltado is also very tasty. I will try it next time. The owners are very humble and courteous.

Google
This place use to be really good. I’m not sure if its under new management but they have changed the menu and do not offer the same good food anymore, very disappointing.

Leslie Giselle

Google
Very delicious lomo saltado 😋 my family has been going here for over 10 years and every time is great! Must go if in the area

Jose Perez

Google
Food was amazing. Not high priced and generous portions. I highly recommend a stop and enjoy the dishes. I ordered lomo de saltado con pollo. Excelente!

Alex Martin

Google
As a traumatized Peruvian that can only eat at his parents house or peru, this is the only place I don’t feel screwed over when spending my money on a lomo saltado. They couldn’t get it anymore right and the beans are a nice touch. Also they don’t skimp out on hot sauce and yellow sauce like all the other places do.

Stacie Peyton

Google
The food I had was just alright. The wingettes were small and although they came with fries, I was still hungry after I finished (this cost me $11.65 after tax). They also only had hot wings so no flavored sauces or anything. The salad was not very appealing either and I ended up just throwing it away.

Yelp
Segunda ves que como aqui y no pues no. Ordene carne asada y me dieron lomo saltado sin cortar. La ves pasada fueron pupusas revueltas y tenian gueso!!

Jose P.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. Saw it on Yelp and because of the start, we went there to try it out. This restaurant was sparkling clean. Dining room is very well kept, super clean including restrooms. We ordered the beef Lomo Saltado, and it was delicious! Rice was well cooked, fries crisp and beef was well seasoned and delicious! My wife ordered a popular and also a ceviche was delicious and , by the way both, mine and my wife dish portions were good size. Prices were reasonable as well. We are coming back here for sure!

Ashley A.

Yelp
The food took a while, even though they didn't appear to be busy and the meat was very chewy. I wouldn't return

Roger G.

Yelp
Great lomo and great staff. The place is a little hard to find at first and next to another restaurant. They have some classic latin sopas and they look great but could not eat two main courses.

Michele B.

Yelp
Back at it... Wanted to try something I've never had before... They say seek and ye shall find Wanted authentic Peruvian food and to Yelp I go Called to place order... Really nice older man answered and I had lots of questions about menu He took the time to explain what I inquired about from the menu Have suggestions and also asked what did I have a liking palate wise (*Sold) I knew from our interaction that he cares about his customers Recommended the Lomo Saltado de Pollo Explained how it was prepared and what vegetables garnished it Food was ready in 10-15 ... He suggested a drink and once again was extremely Helpful I enjoyed my meal... Large portion... Actually shared it with the homeless lady that comes by my job (I always have extra plates/silverware...no contact/Covid) I definitely will be returning and recommend Riveria's

Yelp
They closed at 9pm and my brother and I walked in the door at 9pm because Google maps said they closed at 10pm. We sat down and a man came to tell us the bad news but the cook said to let us stay. I had the fajitas de carne which had a generous portion of delicious meat. The rice and beans were very good, too. My brother didn't eat. The fact that they closed but let us stay, that the food was prepared fresh and they treated us kindly was enough to give them my highest score. Bravo!

Matt F.

Yelp
Rivera's is great! It is a tiny place and it looked like it got remodeled but the staff is friendly and the food is very good, and also affordable! And you get a lot of portion for the money you spend. I got the #9 Pollo with rice, beans, and french fries. Yes french fries with rice is awesome! And throw some green sauce on it, and that will make it spicy!

Kim S.

Yelp
I love the lomo saltado. So much flavor, and they give a green sauce on the side which takes it to another level.

Matthew S.

Yelp
My faith in Peruvian Chicken in the Springfield area has been restored. After my disastrous experience with Cocorico, I was a bit hesitant to try another Peruvian chicken/Latin American restaurant, figuring Veronica's was the only safe bet in the area. Now, I can put those fears to bed. This restaurant did it justice. There is plenty of flavor and juice in this chicken. It was a great price and I got three sides to go with it, plantains (last minute addition), fries, and beans. The fries are really good, and they give you a bottle of the aji and the yellow garlic sauce so you never run low. The beans were meaty and had great flavor. I would not get the plantains again though. They were tasteless and just lacked in other areas where other Latin American restaurants have succeeded. For a drink I got myself a Tamarind, and it was excellent. Maybe next time I will try a Horchata to see how it compares. I also hope to try another dish here, and maybe even a dessert if I am up to it.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed and saddened by my experience at Rivera's. Everything started out great, I had no problem placing my order. I had a pleasant time inside waiting for my order. My disappointment arrived when I got home and opened my bag and started to eat my papusas. I had been only once before and had a wonderful time eating in this small restaurant with a group of friends. I started out happy to be able to find the location again but that's where it ended. At home I opened the bag and the papusas were still hot and you could see the evidence by how the styrofoam boxes had started to melt. I tasted the first one and it was if it was just pure dough no fillings at all. I had asked for chicharrón and cheese. Inside was a very thin layer of something that did not look like either. I post a picture before I tasted them and I had tell everyone in my next post how bad they were. I was there the first time on the weekend and maybe it's a different cook but this time during the week day lunch time I was truly disappointed. I've enjoyed papusas from many different restaurants and places but these were the worst I've ever had. My wife also agrees, she reopened hers and added meat and cheese from the refrigerator to try to improve the taste. I don't go out and pick up food to come home and cook it myself.

Kim L.

Yelp
I have been going here for a few years now and the food has been amazing consistently! It seems family owned and it's never too busy. It seems like a lot of people also order takeout. It is always the same people working and I'm assuming the same Chef as well which is why they are always consistently good! Food: flavor flavor flavor! I normally get lomo saltado which is authentic and bursting with flavor. I also recently got #45 which is steak, beans & rice, with friend plantains, over medium eggs and cheese and this may be my other go to! The horchata drink is fresh and delicious, I've also had their pupusas which were great and cabbage was good (the cabbage can make or break this simple plate) Price: $13.99 for lomo, #45 is $17.99. Their prices seem about average. Ambiance: quiet, it's small and cafeteria style seating but you do have a server. Def a mom n pop type spot. Parking. Parking lot out front.

Hrctor M.

Yelp
Really good ambience great food and staff I love their food as is always freshly made just for you. The restaurant is always clean

Ken J.

Yelp
It was fine. Might have been an off night, but it wasn't anything like four stars, not even close to 5. And it was kind of expensive. Don't get me wrong. The food was good. It was tasty. Just expected better, is all. I had Lomo Carne with noodles instead of fries (saltados - like noodles better). Lots of noodles and light on veggies and meat, which is probably more authentic, but it made the little flavor explosions between mouthfuls of starch fewer and farther between than I like. And the explosions weren't so much "boom!"; more like "poomp". Good, not great. I don't know what it is about Latin American restaurants in the area. I love horchata. When I ordered it here - and when I've ordered it elsewhere around DC - I get a funny look from the wait staff. Maybe because it's a kids' drink. Yah, well, I like milkshakes and Yoo Hoo, too. Maybe it's because I order it and a beer as well, which would be weird because that begs further questions. Maybe because it's hard to make. I dunno. I should ask about that, knowing the wait staff is unlikely to give me an honest answer (good for them). Anyone know? As mentioned by other reviewers, it's a little hard to find. Trust Waze or Google Maps or Bing or whatever your fave get-me-there app is to find it. Should you go there? I'd go elsewhere - try 9 PadThai a few blocks away for some phenomenal food for a similar price. Again, I might have hit an uncharacteristically mediocre plate of food, a problem when I dine alone once at a place. I can't recommend it, but others have. If you go, let everyone know how you liked it!

Major G.

Yelp
Always friendly and courteous. Awesome food - Yummy. Always get the Lomo Saltado. Wife varies and has liked every Alzheimer's gets!

Sara F.

Yelp
Amazing food! Tried it out on a whim and no regrets! The Lomo saltado is delicious. The fried plantains were also amazing and the rice!

Kevin G.

Yelp
Shady place. I've ordered the lunch portion over the phone just to arrive to them saying "oh the cooks made the dinner portion" which is $8 more. Thought I'd give a second chance and dine in. I had a fly in my drink and got the attention of the server and she literally laughed as if it was funny.. then they charged for the replacement drink. No apology from the server or the manager. Wouldn't come back if it was free

Ali M.

Yelp
Very good quality food GIVE THEM A TRY!! Highly recommend. Ordered the lomo Saltado and was hesitant at first but glad I went through with it.

Connor S.

Yelp
If you are looking for good food, look no further. Rivera's is always phenomenal. I personally love the lomo saltado(beef). The staff is very nice and the owner is awesome. I've tried a lot of different restaurants around this area out but none of them Come close. Every bite is better than the last, I can't get enough of this stuff. I am always on the go but when I am around the Springfield area I make sure my employees and I have time to get food from here. Thank you!!!

Nomin D.

Yelp
This was a decent place. I would never thought to come here but hubby knew this place. Their lunch special was great. $7.99 plus tax. And we got the rice with beans, marinated steak with fries, onions... Portion was decent and fulfilling. Inside the restaurant was spacious and decent size.

Theresa A.

Yelp
I am surprised how many stars this place got. I am giving 3 stars because the food was alright. The place is definitely the "hole in wall" place. Tried the cheese and cheese with shredded pork Papusas, not really worth getting. I had better Papusas elsewhere and these were not authentic and they used some type of cheese for the pork that reminded me of queso dip and there was not pork in it.... The tacos were decent, nothing out of the ordinary. The lomo Saltado (steak and combo meals)was ordered, it was decent, a little salty. Chicharron with yuca, pretty flavorful, but decent. The horchata drink was yummy. Service was okay, it was one lady taking the order and bringing the food. She was nice though.

Reubin D.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow. What this place lacks in aesthetic and curb appeal, it more than makes up for with amazing food. That said... The strip mall is gross! I wouldn't stop there if my tire blew out and my dog jumped out of the window. Run flats and a new dog it is! The lady at register was the cutest. She was like my grandma; extremely sweet and helpful. She just makes you want to sit down and order one of everything. There is definitely a lot of love in every meal served. I had the Lomo Soltado with shrimp, chicken and steak. It's was a portion big enough for two and it had rice and fries. The green pepper sauce is fire and the yellow sauce was kind of runny compared to yum yum sauce but still quite good. Enjoy

Josh S.

Yelp
Me and my family have honestly gone here for years (5+), and Rivera's has consistently been the same great restaurant. Family owned as the owners/workers have stayed the same, my brother loves when we get take out as they are always friendly to him! Also whenever I go I never have a wait as the restaurant is never too busy and if I call my order ahead its almost always ready by the time I get there (10-15 minutes). We always go for their Lomo Saltado lunch special and it is always delicious/flavorful! They mix their fries into the meats and it works wonderfully, being a tasty soft fry compared to typical thin and crispy ones. One of my friends asked for it cooked separately so that its crispy like usual, but i recommend trying it the way they normally do it. However, I do take out beans in my order as I don't usually eat them so I cannot advocate for how they taste with it. Lomo Saltado comes with: Steak, rice, beans, fries, onions and tomatoes, with special yellow and green sauce on the side. Overall, this hole in the wall family owned restaurant is one of my go to spots in the Springfield area and their Lomo Saltado is definitely worth the try!

Hannah H.

Yelp
WOOT WOOT! Rivera's Restaurant is a small little Latin restaurant offering appetizers (such as pupusas, yuca fritas, taquitos, ceviches, etc.), soups, tacos, pollo a la brasa, fajitas, fish/chicken/seafood dishes, and daily lunch specials. I tried their #38, which was the Lomo Saltado de Carne (you can also opt for chicken instead), that came with a side of yummy fluffy rice and beans. This was an extremely generously-sized plate, with super flavorful sauteed beef strips with red onion slices and sliced tomatoes - this dish was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The beef was juicy, and the sauteed onions were just lovely! You also receive two bottles of green and the aji sauce. The aji sauce, while more mustard-y, was a perfect pairing for the lomo saltado dish! We also tried a Pupusa de Queso, a cheese pupusa - this was a bit forgettable, as there wasn't much cheese within, and the exterior wasn't as crispy as I usually like it to be. The hubs and I also tried their horchata, which was had the perfect creaminess, not-too-grainy, with a nice little kick of cinnamon - very refreshing! One thing I thought was hilarious was that the restaurant had 2 TVs, one playing K-dramas, dubbed in Spanish - it was super entertaining! AHAHA Service was super sweet and friendly - Ms. Mirna and Ms. Damaris were both wonderful! I'll definitely be back for their lomo saltado as well as to try out their pollo a la brasa! :D +#38 Lomo Saltado de Carne :D +mustard-y aji sauce! +Horchata! :D +ask for Ms. Mirna and Ms. Damaris :D +friendly staff! :D +dubbed K-drama (!!!)

Tay L.

Yelp
I used to come here when I was younger and remember only ordering Peruvian chicken. Omg, I've been missing out. The lomo saltado de carne is the best I've EVERRR had. Ever since the recent visit, I can't get the dish out of my head and drool every time I think about it. It was so flavorful. It didn't taste too much like soy sauce and the fries even though stir fried, still crispy and not soggy AT ALL. I don't know if this place charges for extra sauces when you to go but when you dine in, UNLIMITED green and white sauce to mix in with your rice :ppppp I'm supposed to be going on a diet but damnit I'll be back soon.

Pat P.

Yelp
This is a great place but I will finish my review later Is all about customer service

Isabella D.

Yelp
I remember the first time that my uncle took me here 2 years ago, I haven't stopped going since. The lomo saltado is my go to! You can get it in a small or large size depending on how hungry you are but it's always amazing.

Luel A.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for years. Hands down the best Lomo around. The place is small and located right in front of the five guys. I prefer the beef lomo to the chicken lomo. Great family oriented small business. Service is excellent not matter what time of the day it is. Over all great place to dine.

Kelly C.

Yelp
Not too awful, decent for the price but would not save it in my memory bank. Ordered Pupusas which are usually a hit or miss most places and this place was more so a miss (surprisingly due to all of the good reviews). The pupusas were large but had way more Masa than meat or cheese. Service was decent and pretty quick (we ordered take out) couldn't really complain there. Portion size - I ordered a side of platanos and this was the smallest side I've ever seen.. ever. Literally must have been (1) plantain, cut up extremely small in one of those square small styrofoam containers that you would normally see a side salad in. The platanos barely filled half of the container. Maybe a smaller container would've satisfied my eyes? Interior was as people mention, a hole in the wall - nothing to speak of. Not horrendous but would not waste my time ordering here again.

Ana M.

Yelp
I was really craving lomo saltado and this restaurant hit the spot! The food was very well cooked and it had an amazing flavor. I also have the fish ceviche but I wasn't much into it because i thought it would be a smaller plate and it also had celery, which I'm not too fond of, but otherwise it was also delicious. The atmosphere and service was pleasing in all ways. If you're really craving Latin dishes, this is the place to go. Can't wait to come back and try other plates.

Bridgette W.

Yelp
Family Owned Great Service Great Food THE BEST SEAFOOD CEVICHE I've ever had Along with the Papusas and Beans HORCHATA IS TO DIE FOR Will be going back real soon

Brian S.

Yelp
No frills place serving $7.95 lomo saltado for lunch. It's made with love. Knocking a star off today. The sopa de mariscos aka seafood soup is very disappointing. I've had this at many other places. The majority of the sopa de mariscos had tons fake krab aka crab aka pollack. Why would you add that? It add nothing to the soup. It also contained calamari that was so cooked down it had no texture to it. Kinda weird. The soup had a single blue crab leg, 2 large mussels, 3 medium tail on shrimp, many very small mussels and shrimp, and 1 small piece of yucca. No other vegetables. The lomo is good but I'd skip the sopa de mariscos.

Jasmine A.

Yelp
This restaurant seems to be very popular. When I went to dinner with my family, It got pretty busy. I ordered the Lomo saltado which is slices of beef, fries, grilled peppers/onions served with rice. SOO GOOD! I also got the horchata which was very authentic and not too sweet.

Claudia J.

Yelp
To my fellow Lomo Saltado lovers you need to ven acá! Riveria's is a simple, authentic, Peruvian restaurant, tucked into a dated strip mall in the unrenovated section of Springfield. However, do not let this deter you- this place is legit. The lomo saltado does not disappoint! They did not skimp on the carne, served with a bed of rice and the frijoles were delicious. The portion size for me was enough for two meals. Of course my hunny, inhaled his food and tried to steal what I couldn't finish. While we were there I kept sneaking peeks at the other patrons' plates and planning my next meal. Riveria's also appears to offer an awesome lunch special- Lomo Saltado for $7.50- I believe until 4pm! I can't wait to return and try other menu items. Riveria's makes me want to never cook again.

Claudia D.

Yelp
Unfortunately this restaurant was awful! I went with my family and ordered pupusas, which were made with yellow American cheese?! We are from El Salvador and know what to expect when it comes to authentic food. This restaurant's food was not good at all. The carne asada was a tiny piece of steak with half the plate filled with just plain white rice and a small side of black beans. Horrible!! Please think twice before you waste your money here!!

Alex R.

Yelp
For around 8 bucks you could get a single heartslowing greasy burger at five guys across the street. At Rivera's a good wholesome feast for (almost) two is had for about the same. While getting my oil changed at a nearby dealer I decided to look around for a place to get some quick grub. I started walking towards a "sweets and kabobs" place but noticed a sign on the back of a somewhat sketchy looking building offering lunch specials for $6.99. Forever being the adventurous one my interest was peaked so I continued to walk around to the front. It initially appeared to not much more than a hole in the wall. Walking in I just kind of stood there, and after a few awkward moments of being stared at by the locals I figured out it was a seat yourself kind of place. This place reminds of my ElSalvadorian grandmothers house. A mix of real vines, fake flowers, and random Mayan artifacts adorn the walls. An bit out of place semi bar area is located on the back right wall and later I realized doubles as the cashier counter for take out orders. Alright now on to the food. After about 10 minutes my carna asada with a more than filling portion of fresh rice, beans, onions and peppers came out. I also decided to try the pupusas as I am always on the lookout for a good bean/cheese filled tortilla place. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the steak and the presentation was not bad either. The "horchata" drink was really quite good with a nice cinnamonny flavor. Bottom line if you are looking for a quick place to get your chow on while getting your car worked on at any off the local rip off dealerships this place will fit the bill. It might even make you a bit less pissed off about having bought a used toyota hybrid only to find out it has a bad battery... more on Springfield Toyota later.

Sir G.

Yelp
First off. You will never drive by here and go "Hi, lets go and eat there!". A friend of mine convinced me to drive by Springfield on the way back from Montrose (there is a whole other story there:). We ordered the Lomo Saltado (out of 10 people around us 8 ordered the Lomo). It was to die for!!! A true hole in the wall. Dont tell your friends:). This is our lill secret!

V T.

Yelp
Hole-in-the-wall type sit down style restaurant (i.e. not ordering at a counter like most other Peruvian places) serving Peruvian classics. Pollo a la Brasa: We ordered a half chicken which worked well for our party of two. Juicy, well-flavored, and definitely in line with local competitors. Fried cassava was some of the freshest tasting I've had around here. We didn't opt to choose from their other sides (such as fries, salad, beans, eggs) because we already got some with our lomo saltado. Green sauce is brought to you at the table in large refrigerated squeeze bottles so you never have to worry about running low, so squirt away! #38 Lomo Saltado de carne: Savory beef, fresh tasting fries & rice. I will say that the cut of beef is sub-optimal and slightly on the tough side but the flavor and freshness really make up for this shortcoming. Comes with a side of beans. Generous portion size generally. Clientele on a Saturday morning was mixed but more Hispanic than Caucasian customers. I'd like to come back and try some of their soups which I saw the Hispanic customers ordering. Call me impressed!

Catalina S.

Yelp
Def Come For The Weekly Specials! Great Options & Large Portions! Very Friendly Staff & Quick Service! It's A Hole In Wall But Gem Find! We Def Frequent Here Once A Week For The Specials Since It Runs Till 5/5:30pm Which Is Nice That They Are Pretty Great With Accommodating With The Specials Menu From Lomo To Pork Chops To A Whole Fish! Love The Green & Yellow Sauce Options! Only Downfall Is When I Order I Like My Fries On The Side First Time They Got It Right And Placed It In A Seperate Container But It's Been Hit Or Miss With That Regard Since I Like My Fries Crispy & Not Mixed In My Meal Like Its Written On The To Go Container (Fries On Side) But It's Still Mixed In My Food "/

Brittany I.

Yelp
This place was delicious!!! It was recommended by a co worker so I got off work around 7:45 one night and drove here to have a good meal. Boy was I not disappointed! I ordered the popular meal link carne something and man I devoured it!!!! The trick is when it comes out to mix it all together. So dump the entire thing of beans, juice and all on top of the rice and then stir it all into one big meal. The portion was huge but I seriously had to pull myself away from it to stop eating. The staff was so sweet and SO nice, I loved everything about just sitting in the small restaurant and enjoying the feel and the great food. I'll totally be back for more, I told myself : "hey, take a picture for yelp" but when when the food came out clearly I got carried away....

Julia N.

Yelp
I was expecting this place to be one of those wowing restaurants that don't necessarily look like they can wow. And let's just say I didn't really get that "wow".. When we were seated we were never given menus. We waited for about five minutes, figuring that the waitress was busy and would get to us. But even when she seemed to be available and made eye contact with us several times she never gave us our menus. So we had to get up ourselves and get some and then she kind of just went "oh". Yeah. OH. Service? Eh. Food took a really long time to come out, probably because of the fish. As for the food itself, ehhh. The flavor was good for the lomo saltado dishes but the meat was tough and dry, especially the beef. I actually ordered the chicken lomo saltado but the waitress who took our orders must have not gotten the memo and I was presented with a beef lomo saltado instead. By all means, I didn't mind that, but still. Come on. The beans that came along with the lomo saltado dishes seemed like it merely came out of a can with the water. On a lighter note, the flan was good. And the rice. I guess. Oh and the fries in the lomo saltado.

Monnie J.

Yelp
One of my most favorite Peruvian spots. Their lunch specials are a good deal I normally get the saltado but I got this the last time and it was really good. Well portioned for $9.

Leslie M.

Yelp
Second time hair in food smh used to be a good family spot not sure what went wrong. never going back.

Virginia M.

Yelp
I was traveling and this restaurant was close to my hotel. I love Peruvian food and I wanted to give this a shot. It was pretty good, however not as good as Ceviche Jax, which I love! The service was great and the food was good, I had a large bowl of their mixed seafood soup. I also tasted the steak lomo saltaldo and it was good, but I have had better, but this is a personal preference. Overall, if I were in the area, I would eat here again.

Julieta S.

Yelp
I got the lunch special lomo saltado! BOMB V! meat was super tender and everything was cooked perfectly and flavorful! I never knew how close it was to my house until today! Will be coming back for more! I wasnt a fan of the red kidney beans they put in it though, I dont like beans and never had it come with lomo saltado.. besides the beans everything was delicious and affordable

Michael B.

Yelp
During a visit to the area, I was happily surprised to find El Salvadoran food in Springfield. The Pupusas and Yuca Frita were awesome, and the beer cold. Was looking far Casa Miento, and Quesadilla (El Salvadoran bread), even better if they offered those. Lots of other options looking forward to try in the future.

Christine C.

Yelp
I love it, and I wish I lived closer to this place. It's a small place in a strip mall and it has a perfect sized dining room for an intimate lunch or dinner. The menu is very authentic and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. I stopped in for lunch and had a typical eggs, rice, beans, plantains lunch special under $7. It was delicious, the service was polite and sweet. I took a flan to go for home, and when I ate it, yummo! I loved it, it was made perfectly. The food is Bolivian/Salvadorean, and yum. I also eyed some Peruvian beverages in the fridge. Stop in if you are in the area!

Yelp
I go to this place once every couple of weeks with coworkers and find it to be a great combination of food portions and price. I have tried many of the dishes from the eggs to the grilled chicken to roasted chicken. Everything tastes great. The rice and beans are the best I have eaten anywhere. I wish it was unlimited actually. The plantains are also excellent. Recently I've been getting the 1/2 chicken with rice and beans and with the aji verde green sauce they got and for the price, this is one of the top 10 meals in the area as far as I'm concerned.

Yelp
So glad I found this place, considering i eat a lot of Peruvian food. I used to go all the way to Richmond hwy to get chicken or Coco Rico if i was too lazy to do that. Rivera's is right on backlick tucked away in a little corner... I've lived in Springfield my whole life and if it wasn't for someone telling me about this place I would've probably never known about it. Their chicken is perfect, their yellow and green sauce is sooo good... i always get extra. Lomo Saltado is the best I've had. I always prefer going to small businesses over chains, so this is now my go to place.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover -- Rivera's is probably my favorite restaurant in Springfield. The folks are always friendly and happy to see you, and the food is hot and delicious. I'll join the chorus of Yelpers singing the praises of lomo saltado. What's not to like about a huge, heaping plate of juicy chunks of beef, salty french fries, onions, beans and rice? Mix it all together and the result is just magical. I recently tried the lengua (beef tongue) tacos, and they were some of the best I've had! It's always tough for me to pick between this and lomo whenever I go, but the portions are so big that my tummy doesn't have enough room for both!

Yelp
These reviews were misleading to say the least. If you go there don't I repeat don't get the sopa de mariscos it's full of imitation seafood! GROSS! My boyfriend said his food tasted like microwave reheated food.
