Love this park. Especially the green patch in the back, it’s the only and last true green spot with true grass left in the area. After they completely changed and ruined independence park, this is the only place left for people to have nice picnics or play with their kids and pets. I always encounter people enjoying that little grassy patch.

My family and I love this park, I just wish they would honor the bathroom hours , it’s 5:33 pm & the bathrooms close. The hours are up to 7 PM. But they are close . As a mother with little kids this is sad and disappointing because they have emergencies .

Has a work out section along the river , also has a soccer field and playground. There is a small parking area for anyone going. Good view of Harrison side with a lot of history. One of the factories there help put together the Statue of Liberty 💯

It has a nice playground, games in good condition and good green zones. It has courts to play with balls.

Park was nice my girls loved it. Especially the bear in the treehouse under the slides. I don't like how the edge of the park was set up near the ship on the playground when the mulch has a drop off straight down to the fence. It was very clean. Bathrooms were open , we left around 3. Most bathrooms close at 4pm. So we got lucky there. No trashcans inside of the bathroom not even in the stalls.

A beautiful place of recreation for all ages. Children play ground, basketball court, lawn tennis courts, football field and a mini stadium...

Great and safe place for kids to play. They have fun pirate ship setup which amuses kids. So happy that I explored this place.

Parking is tough because there is no lot. You have to find a spot on the street. Bleachers are cement so bring a chair or something soft to sit on. Baseball field is in good shape and there are good sightings from the bleachers.

Yelp
There's something for everyone in this little park. If you want to stroll around and see the Passaic River at it's best, or worst (depending on how you want to look at things). The Red Bull soccer Stadium is also right across the river here and all the brand new apartments in Harrison the town accross. The park has tennis courts, baseball stadium, basketball court, soccer field, runners track and a little kids playground as well. The park is fairly clean and you can even watch the teachers take the pre-schoolers on a little walk as well weekly. In my opinion this is a great example that with little changes and everyone taking pride in their community the city of Newark can be restored to the great city it was back in the time of the great Industrial Boom.

Yelp
Riverbank Park in the Ironbound has a number of sports-designated areas. There are a basketball court, a soccer field with AstroTurf, a baseball field, lighted tennis courts, and a small track. A playground and fieldhouse are also in this park by the Passaic River. If you are not into sports, it's worth visiting at least once if you are into history. It's on the National Register of Historic Places because Riverbank Park was designed by the Olmsted brothers. It's a nice park for sports-aficionados and history buffs.

Yelp
One of the first parks in the Essex County Park System. Great place for sports, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, and jogging. Good for just walking or sitting. From the time of it's very beginning, Riverbank has attracted visitors throughout every season. From children who come for the new snow of the winter to those who cool in the sprinklers in the summer. The popularity of the park and its history have earned Riverbank Park a place on the National Registry of historical landmarks.
