London’s New Restaurant Openings

"Riverside East is a huge new cafe, restaurant, marketplace, and terrace from the people behind summer pop-up, Between The Bridges. This Stratford site will be permanent, and sounds like the kind of place you can spend the whole day. The cafe will serve pastries from The Snapery Bakery, there’ll be Happy Endings ice creams, and the menu is being put together by a former St. John chef. Later in the summer there’ll be a rooftop terrace and bar too." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

The quality/price ratio is pretty bad, I went there for brunch and spent more than £12 for literally a £1 worth of food (see pic). While the "Bacon Benny" was a delusion but good, the Brulee French Toast wasn't even cooked properly, it was burned at the top and uncooked in the middle. The atmosphere is quite nice and cosy but it's totally not worth spending 💰 for the food they serve.

We enjoyed a delicious roast with bottomless fizz and unlimited Yorkshire puddings here today. Moni who was our server was lovely, very attentive and great with the kids. Moni and Nick the manager were always making sure that we we were ok and asking if we needed anything else. The food was delicious. Myself and two children had the roast chicken and my husband had the roast beef. Everything was cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire puddings were huge! The restaurant itself was bright, airy and clean. It wasn't too busy which suited us perfectly. The toilets were clean too which is always a plus. We enjoyed our first visit to Riverside East and will definitely come back here to eat next time we are in the area.

We had such a delicious dinner here! Everything was a delight, from the Parmesan croquettes to the perfectly cooked steak with peppercorn sauce, and finishing with the zero-waste bread and butter pudding. The staff were all super friendly too. I can’t wait to come back for a weekend brunch or roast!

Best roast in Stratford! Came here on Sunday and had the beef Sunday roast and it was magnificent. We also had a wonderful server who made the whole meal a delight. Glad this venue is open and will definitely add it to our local rotation!

I didn't eat here and I'm glad I didn't. My friends did and it was a nightmare. None of the staff seemed to know what they were doing, ordering the food was impossible; my friends were sent from one place to the next, only to end up back at the original point to order. The food was not something I would want to eat if I'm being honest. I will say, the location is nice. It overlooks the river and it is just busy enough with an outdoor space.

This place was very underwhelming. When you arrive, go to the bar and ask someone about the cages cause the staff is hard to find outside. The staff were friendly. Youngish vibe The cricket cages are small it kind of reminds me of the glass cage in you, if you know you know. You could open the glass door to get some air in if needed, as it was hot outside. We had it open, but I am curious what it would be like in the winter. When we arrived, we missed out on the food as the kitchen was closed, but opposite, you could still get some food, a nice-sized pizza for 12 pounds. It costs around 12 something per person, which is good if you're on a budget. Would I go again Meh

Such a great addition to Stratford. Had a lovely lunch in the cafe and headed outside for drinks in the sunshine. Staff were super friendly, well priced and lots of options to choose from. Looking forward to my next visit!

Really beautiful little spot! Was supposed to be going to the UCL campus cafe but saw this one and thought 'sod it' as it wasn't packed tight and stressful like the westfield costa i just came from. Sitting in it as i write this review, the prices are very much 2024 east london brunch spot prices but when i could have spend the same amount at costa for a crappier quality i think its a bit of a win. I would also like to point out i was not made to buy something to utilise the toilet which is always highly appreciated and noone attempted to hassle me over going in before i even considered ordering anything. cozy and spacious. got a sausage roll with an oat latte, the young guy who served me was very pleasant and kind and his supervisor(? maybe also chef) was also very polite and humorous despite not even directly serving me. food was really nice, sausage rolls have sesame seeds on them which i personally really love and the sausage was nice and fat, no skimping out here <3 coffee was really beautiful and had a nice strength. they ran me through the little punch card and i've amassed my first stamp, will be back a minimum of 6 times i guess! also because it's so out of the way and I assume mainly used for action on match days it was pretty chilled down with little to no human traffic aside from passerbys and the occasional small group.
