One of the few few true all year round outdoor markets, the Riverside market is always pleasant to go to. To. Are some great vendors there, most notably several bakeries and coffee vendors. It's also exceptionally pet friendly which makes it lively, and in a good way. It's also situated within the Idlewild Park which in itself is a beautiful place. The Truckee River runs through it. It's a really, really nice place to go on a nice day where you can take your time and enjoy the people, the dogs, and the park as well.

I love this market and attend almost every Sunday year-round. It's amazing. Fausta sells amazing baked goods near the entrance corner of the baked area and I chat with her every week to support her and enjoy her baked goods. The meat sticks are amazing and seasoned so well. $5 each. Get the lamb. The mexican taco truck is amazing. The breakfast burritos and quesadillas are amazing. When the market sells fresh produce, enjoy it. It's incredible and fresh.

This place is the place to be every Sunday, every season. It offers all the typical vendors you expect at a farmers market like seasonal produce, baked goods, crafts, books and second-hand clothing, but the vibe they curate is what makes it so special. In the warm months, they offer two sessions of free yoga, there is a dedicated play area for children, they provide blankets to sit on as well as tables and chairs. It’s located right on the Truckee river. It’s 5 minutes away from downtown by car and easy walking distance from the casino hotels. It’s the perfect location for a tourist to see the best and most beautiful of Reno. If you are a local, this is the ultimate 3rd space.

Google
Not the type of farmers market I’m use to. Coming from North Idaho and Montana we were expecting more fresh vegetables, fruits, meats. A few vegetable vendors and a couple places selling meat. Everything was definitely overpriced. More baked goods than anything else. Seems to be real popular but definitely not what we expected. Spent 20 minutes walking thru and bolted.

Google
It's a great way to spend a Sunday morning! Browse fresh, organic produce, baked goods, and many other products. Chat with vendors and pick up a bite to eat. There is something for everyone. Go check it out, I promise you will enjoy yourself.

Google
I've watched this farmers market grow from nothing to a whole lot of fun for all ages. Bread, produce, meats, and so much more fresh every Sunday from 8am-1pm. I'm going every Sunday now. Also, I love the fact that if you brought your kiddos, you can take them to the park, which It only 5-10 feet away from where they do the farmers market. Obviously, go with your kids and don't leave them by themselves.

Google
I lov it!! Wonderful breads, veggies, fruit, and pastries. If you're looking for homemade crafts; you will find them as well. Also food and drinks to enjoy right now! It's located in the beautiful Idlewild park. Yes, the goods are expensive but a wonderful place to try organic and homemade crafts.

S. Park

Google
The only year-round farmers market in northern Nevada. A true community space where you can buy your food from the honest people who grew/made them. On the fancy side as long as farmers markets go.

Yelp
FUN! Mother's Day was a total success here, spent far too much and came home with all kinds of snacks and trinkets. Lots of food vendors to choose from, then everything else from clothes to art to dog treats, next time I might go ahead and bring my dog as well. The ambiance in Idlewild park is absolutely fantastic and this was a great way to spend the morning and afternoon. Coffees turned into mimosas.... Mimosas turned into mead and cocktails... The service at every single vendor was absolutely fantastic and selection was great. Can't wait for the next one.

Yelp
I have been to this Farmer's Market a couple of times, the past 12 months. My goal is to go more often. I like the fresh food and supporting small business. This is a good location. So many great vendors. There is local artist, music, food, things for pets, and more. It is open all year long, just hours of operation slightly change with season. Parking can be challenging, but don't let that scare you away. Carpool, take public transportation , ride a bike, or walk if you live close.

Yelp
Visited this Farmers Market a few weeks back and I was surprised and excited that this market is year round. Have been waiting for clearer, less wet weather so I can return. What caught my eye was the assortment of mushrooms, especially the oyster mushrooms. I plan on returning to pick myself up a bunch to make some mushroom soup. They also have homemade kombuchas, microgreens, winter vegetables and home made breads. I enjoy the ability to get out, take a walk in nature, and commune with the locals. Plus purchase home grown, made with love goods!

Yelp
Great variety with local vendors that all seem to be happy and glad to do business with us. Everything from fruits and nuts to honey or lunch plus local service pros. Loads of parking, shade, and outdoor activity. Did I mention it is year-round?

Yelp
We frequent this farmers market pretty regularly and are always happy with our time. The parking is an absolute nightmare as it usually is for any event in idlewild, so that is definitely something to consider. The amount and variety of vendors is always great. I think they have a great mix of farmers booths, crafts, and food trucks. Hard to not find something you love everytime you come! The vendors will switch out so there is always something new. The Mother's Day market was incredible they really knocked it out of the park. The live music is nice and on days with good weather there is so much grass to pick from to pop a squat and enjoy the day!

Yelp
I don't know if there are enough words to describe how much I love that Farmers Market and how great it is. Happening every Sunday morning, all year round, no matter what the weather is like, and being all about bringing community together and supporting local businesses. All that happening in the middle of beautiful idle wild Park next to the ponds. Sounds like heaven to me. Each single vendor is truly amazing and deeply passionate and committed to what they do. From arts and crafts to Baker's to Farmersand not to forget the many delicious food trucks and coffee/drink trucks that show up every weekend. On top of that there is life music happening. And during the dry warmer months, there's free yoga classes happening on the grass. And they always build up a free little kids play area

Yelp
Today (Sunday, May 25) was a perfect day for the Farmers Market. Mid-70s with a lot of green grassy areas with lovely shade from the trees. Plenty of parking even when arriving after 10 am. People are chill and enjoying the weather with their kids and dogs. While there aren't a ton of fruit and veggie vendors, it was great to see strawberries, stone fruit, and mushrooms for sale. Seemed like there were more arts and crafts vendors than food vendors but there was a nice variety to peruse through. We tried a $6 peach lemonade from Peachy Queens, a $17 combo plate of beef, chicken, and lamb skewers from Asian Street, and bought some Blue Oyster Mushrooms from Mountain Mushrooms. All of the vendors were friendly!

Yelp
We came to the special Mother's Day event, and wow what a hit it was! There were so many vendors there that it took hours for us to see all of them. Fantastic food, beautiful crafts and live entertainment, what a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day. We left with so many delicious treats. I can't wait to go back again and try out some of the vendors I missed!

Yelp
Love The Riverside Farmers Market. They have a good selection of vendors and you can find so many quality goods. For produce come early for the best selection as this market is a popular one.

Yelp
Instead of taking the freeway home, I decided to drive down by the river and noticed the farmers market at Idlewild park and decided to go for a Sunday stroll and see what they were offering. A nice handful of eats (hot apple cider, local brewery, crepes, tacos, Filipino food) and local artisans and the sorts: cute dog booths, a knife sharpening, several bakeries, local honey, tea spot, Lavendar, and it looked like only 2 booths with produce. It was late in morning and the crowd was chill and plenty of space for strollers and decked out fur babies in winter wear. Parking took all of ten seconds to score with easy exit back on to the street.

Yelp
Visiting the Holiday Bazaar this last Sunday was really fun. We bundled up and headed to the river for hours of shopping and enjoying all of the different vendor booths. This farmers market has grown so much, the variety and number of booths is impressive. It was nice to see food trucks as well. I know I really enjoyed a Cafe de Olla from La Victoria Coffee. Wonderful way to kick-off the Holiday week.

Yelp
A year-round farmers market in the high desert of the Sierra Nevadas!? I am so grateful to have incorporated Riverside Farmers Market into my weekly routine. The type and quantity of vendors does ebb and flow based on the season, but this market puts the effort in to provide the community a varied mix of goods and services. The best way to keep tabs on what to expect at the market is to follow their Instagram, because they post updates and vendor features regularly. I love the annual Holiday Bazaar, which is a huge weekend with all of the regular vendors plus dozens more artisans just before the holiday season. Even though I don't buy from the same vendors week over week, some of my favorites are Prema Farms and their arugula, Sasquatch Foods and their filling Snackers, No City Coffee for a hot latte, and (a new favorite) Honed by Jones for knife sharpening. Riverside Farmers Market continues to evolve and improve and keeps me coming back as a pleasant end to my weekend. I would recommend checking it out even just to window shop or enjoy the beauty of a lively community event in Idlewild park.

Yelp
3/17/2024- First time visit- and now I know it won't be the last.. I think the vibe for me was more like an artisan market.. and have no problem with that-.. As for produce only a few vendors.. which is not a problem because we have farmer's markets in our neighborhood.. As for breads and pastries-oh my! Probably bought way more than needed, (but my son can indulge while visiting).. Purchased from Lowenkind- marmalade jam and the chocolate matcha cake.. Long line for Beloved Bread (never heard of).. and picked up a few more pastries and bread- Customer behind me, was saying how the country sourdough bread and empanadas, and focaccia were really good.. If you're visiting, stop by.. it's a great fun visit..!

Yelp
I woke up early to experience the Farmer's Market in Reno, not knowing they moved it close to the playground in Idlewild Park. But not complaining in the distance from the car where I parked. I enjoyed the walked to location of the Farmer's Market. Maybe it was just me I was expecting to see a lot of fruits, flowers and samples of a specific delicacy. I'm so happy the owners of pinkelephant kitchen in Carson City insisted to try their curries, it was honestly so good. My friend ended buying one and I bought their mango sticky rice. It was so delightful. I had fruit danish in Beloved's bread it was delicious too. Maybe it's difficult to harvest fruits and vegetables this year around, but I'm glad I saw a bit of it. My friend had a ham and cheese crepe that was. It was more organized, they have signs, and seats where people can sit. I appreciate the whole year farmer's market. Just sad not to see fresh flowers, fresh produce. I see more pastries, cookies and breads. I feel like it needs more vendors to join the Reno Farmer's Market. Can't wait to check it out in Summer time.

Yelp
On #ThankYouThursday I want to share my gratitude with Riverside Farmers Market and all of the incredible local businesses that show up to showcase and share their produce, products and passions with our community. You simply won't find a more diverse market anywhere else in town, and the best part is there's always something new and exciting to discover here. Lately my favorite stalls to visit have included Rising For People Coffee Co for their weekly single origin coffee tastings, The Wheyfarer Cheese Shop for the fantastic and ever changing selection of exceptional cheeses and free samples, Beloved's Bread (soon to be opening a full service bakery at Reno Public Market) for their epic array of incredible breads and pastries, and Terroir Herbals for their tonics, elixirs, shrubs and remedies made from locally sourced, functional and medicinal flora! Riverside Market is an incredible platform for makers and growers in our community and I am so grateful that this exists weekly for us all to enjoy. If you haven't visited, it's a whole vibe and you must do so soon!

Yelp
I have been going to the Market about once a month since I moved to town. I go sometimes to do some serious shopping, other times just to get some fresh air and see what local vendors have for sale. Follow the market on social media or sign up for their emails to get a sneak peek into upcoming events. Most Sundays there are the usual vendors which is nice because you know what to expect. The special events feature a more wide variety of booths which I enjoy because it mixes things up a bit. When there are special events the market is packed and be prepared to park and walk a distance. I appreciate that the market is rain or shine. The market is geared for everyone- there is a designated kid play area, yoga, and usually a live singer or performer.

Yelp
why does the website say "open 8am sundays year round" but in bold red lettering it shows "CLOSED" at 9am this sunday morning?? where's the/any "farmer's" produce? why are vendors still setting up at 9am when it opens at 8?? why does a bread vendor tell me "vendors only until 9" - seriously?? and it was 3 minutes to 9 - pretty lame experience overall...

Yelp
I finally went to the Riverside Farmers Market in Reno on a warm Sunday morning in June last week. i'm from the Bay Area and I love farmers markets! I've always wanted to go to this market at Idlewild Park in Reno and never made it because we used to check-out on Sundays to return home. Now that I'm retired, I love staying for the whole weekend! I love the vibe of this market, located by the ponds of Idlewild Park. Live music, lots of food trucks, artisans, and seasonal produce. Free parking, clean bathrooms, and lots of open spaces. We enjoyed our tasty Filipino Tapsilog breakfast from Malaya Eats food truck. We also liked a savory breakfast crepe from Olivier's Organic French Crepes food truck, and our lattes from a nearby coffee truck. We found a table and totally enjoyed a perfect Sunday morning brunch outdoors in the park. Energized with coffee and full bellies, time to go shopping! I got some fresh Lion's Mane and Maitake mushrooms to cook for dinner as well as a couple of bottles of mushroom tinctures to take home. My daughter got a beautiful handcrafted ceramic mug (dishwasher and microwave safe!). Also got some fresh nectarines, peaches, plums and tomatoes. I will definitely come back to enjoy Sunday mornings at Riverside Farmers Market next time I'm in Reno.

Yelp
Farmers Markets are always a good idea. Fresh air, generally nice weather, supporting local and small businesses. What else do you want?! Plus it's currently located at the quaint location of McKinley Arts Center just a stone's throw from the Truckee River. Lots of good vendors; baked goods, prepared foods, hot and cold drinks, craft items, and a few produce farmers as well. Everyone is happy and vendors are selling their wares and bringing together the community. I can't stress enough how important it is to support these wonderful businesses and the people that run them!

Yelp
What a fun place to go to on Sunday. Went with the family to take in the sun, people, and the offerings from dozens of vendors. Lots of local businesses that share their products and crafts. Add to it, lots of people to meet and an amazing location at Idlewild Park. Brought our dog with us and he got to meet lots of other four-legged buddies. The new location provides lots more parking and allows for lots more vendors. Pick up some organic produce and meats along and some coffee, different foods and you've got yourself a great way to start your Sunday. I do have to say I have one particular vendor I yearn to purchase from and that is Carson City's Pink Elephant. They absolutely have the best curry sauces I have ever had. My favorite is the Green Curry, but the Red and Yellow are sublime as well. See everyone next week!!!
google avatar

Yelp
1/22/22 Yelp 1 of 3 Needed some local honey. Best/closest honey we found here was from Fallon, First Fruits Fallon, and they were selling a 1lb honey jar for only $10. Quality/Quantity - All was good, but today we wanted/needed local honey. In my opinion, the hit of the market was "Smokin Joe's BBQ;" you could smell their BBQ throughout the market. Atmosphere - Year round farmers market, every Saturday from 9am to noon @ the McKinley Arts Culture Center. Fun, cool, and popular farmers market. Live music. Outhouses. Plenty of free private parking and street parking. Dogs must be leashed. Service - Everyone was friendly. Price - All was reasonably priced, especially for a fresh and local farmers market. I expect to always pay more at farmers markets. Owner Suggestion - Good job creating and marketing this farmers market; it is poppin'! We will be back.

Yelp
We were disappointed when we arrived, only to find more vendors selling goods than an authentic farmers market selling fresh farm goods such as vegetables, fruits, etc., which you would typically expect to see. However, the location is ideal, although it was a bit windy on the day we went.
google avatar

Kelly L.

Yelp
Very good place to visit! I love the BBQ Skewers Good service, good ambiance. I love it
google avatar

Geralyn H.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and the variety of vendors. But don't sleep on Beloved's Breads. Got the lemon rosemary bread last week and it is HEAVEN. Been toasting it all week, sometimes with honey. Can easily imagine using it at the holidays for bruschetta with ricotta, figs and honey. Oh, and Prema Farm is our go-to for fresh garlic ever since meeting them at the Garlic Festival.
google avatar

Joanne E.

Yelp
I finally got here and am very pleasantly surprised. It's a lot larger than I thought. And it's not just produce although that's all I was interested in today. The prices are reasonable and the quality is impressive. I'm going to have to add this to my regular shopping spots.
google avatar

Yelp
I finally made it to the farmers market this year and am so glad I did! I was a bit disappointed to see that they moved it to Sundays as my family and I do attend church and unfortunately the hours aren't conducive for me to be able to do both. But, overall I had a wonderful time and definitely plan to come back. It was much larger than I expected it to be and quite busy! Parking is hit or miss as there are so many people, but it's not terrible. The location is perfect and everything is laid out so you can move about the vendors easily and not feel overcrowded. Everyone was friendly and kind and quick to answer any questions I had. There are so many different vendors and I love to see/meet new people who share their craft/foods. I was able to find a few places that I can't wait to purchase products from again. They also had a couple of food trucks for some extra options to eat at if you want a quick bite while you shop.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
I absolutely love coming to the market! The array of vendors is always amazing. Parking is definitely rough as the current location is a hot commodity! I love being able to stroll around with a yummy cup of coffee as I peruse the goods from vendors. I can't wait to see what the new location will offer and the new time. (Not really looking forward to it as its during prime church time on Sundays).
google avatar

Rochelle S.

Yelp
Great Saturday morning farmers market! This market is right by the river and has produce, baked goods, crafts, jewelry, and food trucks. I definitely recommend coming here. All the prices I saw were reasonable; most vendors took card but I brought cash just in case, especially for those lower priced items. I went at 9:45 (hours are 9-12) and some items were already sold, so go early!
google avatar

Ann O.

Yelp
So I went on Saturday and the market was sharing the park with another event. This meant that the vendors had been reduced and there were not alot of fruits and vegetables. There was pizza, bread, mushrooms, cider, tea, soap etc. Still a fun day out but I'll double check next time so I get my heirloom tomatoes as I should.
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
A nice walk around the park. Music and prepared food. Lots of shops selling trinkets and decor. I do wish there were more market food items. I wanted to buy fresh veggies and fruits and the few times I've gone, it's been sparse and extremely expensive. Still a nice time being outside and taking in the sights and smells.
google avatar

Francis H.

Yelp
Great market specializing in featuring locally sourced products. Wide variety of products and some great prepared food options. Even some local made products to choose from.

Yelp
1.19.19 I love going to any farmers market. One Saturday morning, my room mate told me about a nearby farmers market and wanted to pay a visit, so we did! This market was called the Riverside Farmers Market and is usually open 9am - 12pm every Saturday. There stood about seven to eight tents selling various goods and produce. We didn't realize it until we were strolling through the tents, but we forgot to bring CASH. If there's something that is essential to bring to a farmers market it would have to be cash. We did, however, have just enough to purchase a refreshing juice concoction from one of the tents. Our visit to the Riverside Farmers Market was short and brief, but we thought it was the perfect way to start our Saturday morning. It was great to see people come and support all of these local businesses. We both agreed to make it a point to visit and support farmers markets more often. Call it a New Year's Resolution.
google avatar

Curtis H.

Yelp
This place is fast becoming a Saturday morning routine for me and my daughter. I love that it is open year-round (in the winter the number of vendors is understandably smaller). There are food trucks serving everything from coffee to pastries to tacos to BBQ and in addition to the produce stalls there are specialty purveyors selling bread, pasta, seafood, exotic mushrooms and even a guy who sells microgreens. Parking can be a challenge especially as the weather warms up but it is not an insurmountable problem, you just have to be patient and ready to nab a spot when you see one ( but don't be that guy or gal that swoops in front of someone. Play nice!)
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Crowded and not many interesting stands. Only one sold fruit and it was a ripoff. $2.50 a piece for average peaches. Even the Sparks Farmers Market is better.
google avatar

Tom W.

Yelp
Fun place to be at Reno during the weekend. Go for a walk & there are many food vendors to try. Summer time may be a bit hot. Bring a water bottle, or you can purchase local flavored beer
google avatar

Anne S.

Yelp
You never know what you'll find at this farmers market. Crafts, fresh bread, produce... Bring some cash (lots of small bills) and a sense of adventure. In the winter, the market is held on Saturday mornings. See you there!
google avatar

Reilly W.

Yelp
I am addicted to this farmers market. I am someone who used to get $20+ coupons from my Raley's rewards each quarter and ever since I found this place I have bought almost all of my groceries here and barely rack up any grocery store points. The scallops from little fish co have become a weekly staple, to the point that the girl working the stand knows what I am coming for each week. Their Market Box is a fantastic deal, just $25 for 8 types of organic locally sourced produce. If you're feeling generous, they also have a gift box program, the same $25 fee and a family in need gets the box of produce. The people working the market have such a positive attitude, they are always helpful and a pleasure to work with. The man who works the First Fruits Sustainable Farms stand is so knowledgable and willing to educate shoppers on the benefits of regenerative farming. If you haven't attended the market its an absolute must. Make sure you arrive early if you plan on shopping the main market because a lot of the best items sell out fast. The mobile markets don't sell out as fast and are so convenient for those of us on the edge of town.

Thomas S.

Yelp
New location for this market over the past year, now much larger. The market remains more of a flea market than a farmers market having only four vendors selling fresh vegetables and fruit, but that is an increase over the two vendors they had at the prior location whereas there are over 20-30 vendors selling bread, honey, jewelry, etc. The selection of vegetables is fresh and there is a good variety for fall and Winter growing season. They continue to allow animals in the market which I am surprised the health department does not sanction. Parking is much improved with many places available.
google avatar

Jay J.

Yelp
This is not a farmers market. It's a market. There was only one produce stand. maybe the summer one will be better.

D M.

Yelp
Went here today. Wow, what a great place to visit. Great vendors. A great experience. Our first time at Idlewild Park. Will bring our dog next time we go.
google avatar

Alex M.

Yelp
By far the best farmers market I have ever visited! I love that it is year-round, and that for the summer months it switches over from Saturdays to Thursdays so that we don't miss out on farm fresh foods due to Saturday summer events keeping us away from the market. Everyone is wonderful and friendly. It truly is a community within a community. With more than just food, this market is fun to bring the whole family to. I also love that they have a WIC-type program for those who qualify. Being on assistance when I was a younger single mother, I very much disliked that the majority of foods the government helped me buy were processed and horrible for me and my child. I love that they have found a way to keep healthy, farm-fresh, locally produced foods in the pantries of those in need. If you haven't been yet, I highly encourage you to check it out. A fun way to spend a couple hours of the day.

Yelp
Found some sweet deals on fruits!!! I came across this stall with mini yellow grapes and it was sooooo juicy!!! Seeeeeett! I'm definitely coming back to find them!
