Well-stocked little grocer, their produce is good and they always have fun (kinda crazy?) snacks and drinks. The flowers in the fridge are usually nice. They also randomly carry Diamond Crystal kosher salt which can be hard to find here.

They cheat. They charged $1.1 more on 3 oranges and 26 cents more on one orange I bought in 2 separate receipts. It happened in my one single trip to this store this evening. Price tag is $1.5 per pound. I suspected 3 small oranges cannot weigh 3 pounds, and cost $4.6 as I paid per my receipt. So I picked one orange to test. He produced a receipt of $1.5. I asked is it correct this orange really weighs one pound. The guy challenged me I can check it myself, than folded his hands standing there staring at me, then asked me what I was waiting for. I told him show me where his scale is. Putting the orange on the scale which I had to clear it out from behind boxes of snack bars on the counter, scale screen showed nothing, I reminded the guy, he turned the scale on. It registered $1.24. The receipt he printed before was $1.5. At that point I had to verify the 3 oranges I had paid for $4.6 just 10 min earlier. Now the scale showed $3.5. The mistake this man made is taking customer as being ignorant. I had a routine of eating several oranges a day every day for 30 years. I can estimate by hand how heavy oranges weigh. People who bake often have same ability as they deal either precise measurements frequently. When I came back for one orange he should know that I suspected. He should have come clean when I challenged one small orange cannot weigh one pound. Error of $1.1 on $3.5 real price is not a marginal error. Overcharged twice in matter of just 5 min apart is not an honest error. His bigger mistake was his rudeness and bully manner, he takes any customer as being stupid and he can get away with it. His biggest mistake is he should have apologized even he may not want to, that the overcharge was an error inadvertently made. Even I know it was deliberate I would have let go. He should have shown sincere and facilitated my use of his scale to test. He did not save his face when he had the chance to. See how who is stupid now. I came to this store after going back from work still wearing formal coat and hat from office. The store easily observed I cared for their produce and merchandise each item I picked up and put back gently. I talked nicely, made positive comment about their fresh herbs. At the end that is how they treated a nice customer and who came to their store the first time. Like most people I hate thieves. The act I witnessed here cannot be an isolate or random incident happening at this store. Taking money from people one doesnt deserve is equivalent to a thief’s act. Shoppers should be aware. The store also should know that if customer is determined to escalate, complaint can be heard and processed by more than one consumer protection agencies.

Great spot. They have the essentials for fruits and veggies and the best of every other item (whether it’s hummus yogurt bacon eggs etc) You need avocados? Boom there you go. You need pasta sauce (the good one) - bam, there you go. Boom bam.

Edit again: still they have a nice collection of groceries I cant live without…. Mutti tomatoes, good rice, and double decker 😭 the occasionally not so good customer service is worth it , the staff probably just tired and v overworked —— Edit: Adjusted the rating because the owner seems to be always in a bad mood 💀 Just now my card didn’t go through … thought it did, walked away and he yelled at me 😭 —— original review below: Prices for some items are a bit high but honestly it’s just the economy. Most are reasonably priced. And opens everyday even on Christmas!! Long hours too. A reliable shop

I always try to support local and these folks have been serving this community for a while, with dedication, organization and kindness. Produce prices are the same as bigger stores and sometimes even cheaper some items.

Riverside Market is like stepping into a grocery wonderland, complete with friendly clerks who deserve their own sitcom! Henry and Joseph are the dynamic duo you didn’t know you needed in your life. I walked in for a loaf of bread and ended up leaving with a full shopping cart, workout routine, and a hot tip on tonight's basketball game!

Google
Great selection of products and saved me a couple of times during the pandemic. Organic products are a little pricey but love that they have that option and great produce as well. I see a lot of reviews about the debit/credit issue but that's most convenient stores. Well-mannered and helpful staff as well!

Yelp
I love this little convenience store, I swear some items here are cheaper than buying from wal-mart! But they have some unique snacks from Asia, and England imports too. My fav is the fruit section, it's like they always stock the freshest in-season and most delicious fruits at a lower price than the supermarket (longos) I also love that there is a huge parking lot at the back of the store which is very convenient, don't have to cross the street or anything.

Yelp
This Leslieville convenience and grocery store has everything and anything you could want: fresh produce, organic and vegan options, pet food, cat litter and even fresh flowers. Great local spot!

Yelp
Prices are inflated like any convenience store, but really only slightly. If you stick with produce that is in season, you'll be in good shape. They also stock a surprising amount of organic and gluten free products as well as things like goat yogurt and kefir. They also have a catch-all section that I've yet to come up short in for things like string, safety pins, toothpicks, a pencil case... I usually come in the mornings and have not experienced rudeness of any kind, quite the opposite. There is a lovely lady who stocks the produce area in the morning who would routinely stop what she was doing to come help me find the fullest, freshest pint of strawberries, or hand me the ripest mangos. A perfectly reasonable option for folks working or living in the hood with the same pricing as the Starbank across the street, but ten times the variety.

Yelp
Pari is hard to peg. Is it a variety store? Sure - they sell smokes, pepperettes, TTC tickets, Lotto, and assorted salty and sweet snacks, so yes it looks the part. Is it a grocery store? They have a reasonably good produce section and also lots of staples. They even have bulk baking items and more specialty things such as coconut milk that you wouldn't find at the average convenience store. And the prices are pretty reasonable.

Yelp
Now called the Riverside Convenience Market, this family run grocery is "convenient" in location only. I live just around the corner and find myself reluctantly dealing with the owners often due to the fact that it's the only grocer in the area. The place is overpriced, the products are often expired and owners are unbelievably rude. But tonight's adventure was worth a post. I was a penny short on an ice tea... That's right, a penny. Now I can handle the "I don't give a shit about my job so i'm just going to talk on the phone while I ring you in" and I can even handle the yelling at other employes, but not the penny. Now keep in mind I shop here a lot. When I dropped that hint to the guy at the cash hoping he would say "don't worry about that penny fine patron," he responded with a surly "So... you need to pay more". My advice... try not to shop there and do your best to hold out for a Loblaws. It's small shops like this that deserve to get crushed when the box stores roll in.
