Amazing selection, super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Any time I compare prices to other stores, Riverview is always cheapest. So you get super fun and unique bottles at the best prices.

Never been steered wrong here. This small shop packs a punch and the staff are really knowledgeable. GREAT craft beer selection. Only downside is you might find something you like and it’s gone the next week, but I’ve requested some a few times and they try to get it if they’re able. This shop has also introduced me to some new, funky wines which I appreciate. Happy to have this down the block!!

The best wine shop in Jersey City is located in the Riverview area of the Heights! Beautiful curated selection of wine, spirits, snacks, cheese (even delicious vegan cheese and kombucha!!!), crackers and local chocolate! Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. All of our neighbors agree, this is our favorite local business in the area.

Great selection of wine, really friendly staff. The way they order their shelves was a bit confusing to me at first, but staff is super willing to help you understand what's going on, and if you're looking for a particular grape, they're there to help. They've got some great selections, including some really tasty Saperavi and some harder-to-find imports. Happy to have this place so close by, even if my wallet definitely isn't. 😩👌

I like to walk to Riverview Park, and on one of my walks, I passed by this store and decided to stop in. It's small and cozy, but has a really eclectic selection that you're not going to find at most of the other local liquor stores. Plus, the staff really know what they're talking about, and can make recommendations based on what you're looking for. I like going here to find unique stuff that I can't find elsewhere.

An amazing array of natural wines to satisfy all kinds of wine and spirit lovers alike. Also a plus that the owners are wonderful people. This is my go-to wine shop, no other shop compares.

My first day in Jersey City having just landed hours before, I asked my friend to show me around the neighborhood and lo and behold we came across Riverview Wine. Apparently, the state of New Jersey didn't allow for the sale of any type of alcohol in convenient, grocery, or supermarket stores which left you getting your libation fix at bars, liquor stores, and restaurants. A real cork, watery red color, cherry earthy sweet aroma, low body, earthy mineral sweet flavor, easy finish, dissipating earthy sweet aftertaste, and low astringency. PARKING (FREE; N/A in this instance) We walked, so parking wasn't an issue. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Bowers St. and all surrounding streets - 'nuff said. I knew my alcohol very well and really appreciated the eclectic selection as I found many unfamiliar products I was eager to try. The products were top-notch, prices were on-point, and the service was excellent. Having already finished the three purchases, needless to say a return trip was inevitable. I am from out of state and needed to send a holiday gift on behalf of the executive I support to a team member in NJ. A Google search of places near Hoboken turned up Riverview Wine & Spirits, and showed a 5-star rating. I called around noon on a Friday, gave Laura some ideas of what I was looking for and a price point, and an hour later she had put together a beautiful basket, and texted me a couple pictures. She even delivered same day for free! Outstanding service! Timing on this delivery was critical as this colleague is flying out of town Sunday for an extended trip, and I couldn't use a typical gift-giving website or even Amazon (options were chintzy for the "next day delivery" on Amazon) so I shopped local. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Love Riverview Wine Shop! We live in the Heights and this has been one of our favorite businesses in the neighborhood. Our dog "makes" me come their way, so what do I do? I tell them what we're going to have for dinner and they help me pick a wine. Zoey (the dog) knows what's good for me, and that's to come see what's new at Riverview! ...and she gets head rubs for her patronage. They leave my head alone though.

If you're interested or curious about wine, but intimidated by its vast scope or the pretentiousness that often comes along with it this is the place for you! Focusing on wines made by small producers with the least amount of intervention or additives, Riverview Wine & Spirits offers an expertly curated selection. You'll find a variety of styles from countries you're familiar with along with many you've never heard of from places you had no idea even made wine. The vibe is friendly and relaxed. The staff is welcoming and helpful and there's always a bottle of something open for tasting. Price wise you'll find several delicious bottles for under $20 and if you feel like spending more you'll have plenty to choose from. This is the sort of neighborhood spot you'll quickly fall in love with and find yourself spending more and more time at. If you're not into wine there's an increasing selection of craft beers and liquors to whet your whistle. Riverview Wine & Spirits is an excellent addition to the neighborhood and just what the Heights needed. Nato sotto il segno dei pesci!

This place has a metric ton of natural/avant garde wines, and the staff knows them ALL. In particular, Kyle will hook you UP! I came here to buy a case of wine for my birthday, and I could not be happier with the outcome. 10/10, will be lying about when my birthday is to do this like, once a month or so forever. (They also do delivery and there is a discount on cases!)

This is a new wine spot in JC, but the staff are far from new when it comes to their knowledge about wine. They will get you exactly what you want with a wide variety of natural wine - as well as cool craft beer and spirits. The whole place has a fun, laid back vibe that takes away any intimidation when it comes to wine. Not only is it a great store - but a great place to taste some new wines and chat with your neighbors. I'm sure at some point you will come in and spend at least 30 minutes chatting away with someone in there. Major score for JC and major score for the ever growing Heights. Hit this place up! (And if you're getting wine- make sure to ask for the funky stuff!)

This is the best wine shop of basically any wine shop anywhere. Awesome selection and outrageously nice staff.

So 3 or 4 months ago, these folks got a drop of Heady Topper and Focal Banger. I ordered one of each. Due to some inventory error, or human error, or pandemic horror error, they oversold Heady Topper and I was forced to whistle away with two 4-packs of Focal (ooooh the indignity). Anyway, I was more than happy with my 8 Focal Banger, I woulda been happy with 4, hell, I was glad to be nominated. Fast forward 4 months, I'd forgotten all about it, and Riverview just called me out of the blue to give me first dibs on their new Alchemist drop. You know, to make up for last time? Anyway, if you don't think that's the pinnacle of customer service, meet me at Riverview tomorrow around 5, and I will fight you in the fucking street. These people are awesome.

Still a work in progress, though I'm very elated that The Heights is getting a long awaited and well deserved Wine, Spirits and Craft Beer establishment. Having lived here for 12 years now, I often have to venture out to neighboring Hoboken or Downtown Jersey City. Often times, I'm stuck getting wine at one of the liquor store bodegas on Central or Summit Avenues which is mainly stock with unusual liquors, Budweiser's, Coronas or Miller Lites. I'm assuming that in the nearby future, they will have some wine tasting events to cater to folks who just moved to The Heights having been priced out of Hoboken, Downtown Jersey City or Brooklyn. Thanks to Steve who pointed us a a few selection of Reislings, Proseccos and red wines. More stock will be arriving in the upcoming week or two. I do wish that their limited hours will be extended; hence the 4 stars. The place nevertheless has a great vibe.

This is the kind of store where the staff will drop everything and spend 10 minutes helping you look for a bottle of wine with a label in comic sans font. Also best selection of beer and wine in JC or Hoboken.

Great place for all levels of liquor love. If you know what you want, they got you, if you don't know what you want, there's tastings (not since COVID-19) and anyone who works there is a magical, non-judging, silly question answering, expert in finding you the perfect bottle/can at the price you want to pay. They've also got a section for lil snacks and cheeses and mini sweets to top off your experience, or be the savior of the party. Glad they're in my hood.

Love this shop! They have a great selection of unique and delicious wines, cheeses and the hottest beer inventory around. The service here is great and the staff really know what they're talking about if you need a recommendation. The delivery option for orders over $25 in the Heights was clutch during the pandemic.

Love this spot!!!! They have an amazing selection of wine, beer, & spirits and they manage to maintain a collection of interesting and quality producers while remaining accessible and unpretentious. Plus they're always happy to help pick something out with you based on style, budget or whatever! Whether you want something easy drinking or super funky, Riverview has it. Truly a gem in the heights.

I cannot tell you how much I love this place... Not only is the selection really unique and affordable, the staff is out of this world! I'm a shy wine shopper, never really knowing what to pick and they are always so helpful and knowledgable in helping me pick out the best wine for the occasion. It's also just really cutely decorated and have a nice selection of cheeses and snacks!

GO. HERE. NOW. I am terrible at picking out wines. I had been meaning to stop by and regret that it took me this long. I've only gotten recommendations and I've enjoyed every. single. one. While I'm only on my 6th bottle, this is truly impressive. I've been to other wine stores and have been disappointed with what they've recommended. This is not the case here. The staff is very knowledgeable and really easy to work with. I wonder if they only carry really great wines. I guess there's only one way to find out. P.S. I'm a sucker for an artistic wine bottle label and they seem to have a bunch that taste great AND look good.

Great addition to the Heights. Outstanding selection of spirits , beer and wine. They even carry some cool cheeses and other snacks that pair well with the beverages they sell. If you love craft beer, small production wine and great booze this is your spot. Not one wine store in the Heights or Union City has a selection like this!!

I am so happy to have a place like this in my neighborhood. The staff is friendly, the variety is great, and the prices are good too! My husband and I go for the free wine tastings every Friday and pick one of the bottles to take home. It is also my go-to when I want a unique bottle of wine or spirits to take somewhere as a gift. The sake juice boxes and provisions are all good too. I honestly can't say enough good things.

A fantastic local wine spot! The staff are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful while keeping your price point in mind. I have tried many different bottles (as well as craft beer) from here and have never been disappointed. They have a good assortment of cheese, crackers, jams, etc. that I was able to put together a lovely gift basket for a friend. Give this place a try, it is completely worth it!

WOW! A very rare gem. The curators focus on natural wines and offerings you will not find in most places. The bonus? The wines are both delicious AND affordable! I am so happy they are in the Heights. What a great addition to the neighborhood. Oh, and if you need your tequila for Taco Tuesday at Tres Chilitos, you can grab your tequila here.

Terrific spot. Can't say enough good things. Lots of affordable bottles of wine that you won't find anywhere else. Chris is friendly and knowledgeable and will tell you something interesting about every bottle in the store. Great place to pick up an interesting bottle for dinner! I will be back every chance I get.

PHENOMENAL experience!! Yes.. I said that word! Went in to buy a last minute bottle of wine for dinner (BYOB). Met the new owners, who were personable, knew their wines, spirits and gave a great recommendation. Actually a bottle from where one of the owners were from in Italy! The selection of wine, spirits as well as craft beers will keep you coming back. I know I'll be there! I knew this establishment as the former Mahnke's from years ago... the vibe brought me back to the old neighborhood, where everyone was welcomed as a friend, if not family. Thank You for bringing back the local establishment, who are clearly now grounded amongst the best.
