Nice airy brewery around 5 mn. drive away from Newberryport. I love their hazy. I didn't try the food but I saw many people ordering nachos and pizza. It's a dog friendly place. They have a large indoor and outdoor space with seating

Google
RiverWalk Brewing in Newburyport, MA for a few pours of some delicious traditional & light beers. This is my third time here over the past few years & this trip didn't disappoint. Previously on my visits I grabbed mostly IPAs to try with a sour, cream ale & wheat beer thrown in. These guys offer a wide variety of different styles, but as the start to a day with two other breweries & a restaurant planned I decided to keep it on the lighter side. Over the past year especially, I find myself starting off with lagers or pilsners & slowly building to IPAs & stouts to end the drinking session. It's definitely helped me appreciate & get into more styles than just IPAs, plus with now being in my forties I can't drink six 8.5% juice bombs in a row anymore. 🍻🍻😥🔥 I started off this trip with CASK UNCLE BOBS ESB that was good, but I've had much better New England bitters recently. The second pour was better, ME AND MY DUNKEL Munich Dunkel was a delicious above average dark lager. The third beer was the winner in the FALCONER LIGHT Lager which was super crisp & very drinkable. I could definitely see myself throwing back a handful of these on a hot day. 🍻🍻🔥💪 All your usual seating options here with bar, tables & hightops plus a large outdoor patio area when the weather allows. We grabbed some pretzel bites to help absorb the booze, there was a donut flight option with three different donuts & tasters that I'll without a doubt be getting in the future. The service was good & the waitress was really friendly & accommodating, unfortunately I forgot to get her name. Great fun spot to check out for sure within a already massively saturated large brewery hub. 🍻🍻🔥☘✌ BEERGASM RATING - 69/98 NO VIAGRA NEEDED 🍻🍻🍆🍆🍆💦💦💤💤🔥🔥 #wildweekend #craftbeer #supportlocal #beerstagram #BeerGoals #untappd #NewHampshire #newengland #newhampshireeats #beer #brewery #brewerylife #bartender #nhbrewed #nhbrewery #food #foodporn #Massachusetts #beergasm #wildweekend

Google
What a great spot for some food and drink! The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place to drink excellent beer and has great food, try this place!! It’s located next a rail trail!!

Vanessa Rivera

Google
Great beers in an awesome space. Lots of outdoor seating and plenty of indoor space too. Make sure you walk to the back! They have some food options too. The Nachos are huge and great to share!

Patrick Joyce

Google
Great place. Great service. Tasty beers. Good size menu, though we didn't try the food. Looks like a party on weekends. Cornhole boards and disc golf set ups. Worth a visit.

Amy Metcalfe

Google
Great beer, great vibe, and a big thumbs-up for the dog-friendly outdoor area! Riverwalk Brewery is a winner.

Matt Gendron

Google
Came for the beers, but really enjoyed the walk out from downtown and the nachos with chicken. I had the Hit of the Haze, a very tasty NEIPA. Solid beers, very drinkable. My wife had the pumpkin seasonal with the cinnamon rim, and it was terrific. The nachos were intended to be an app,but the full sheet was filling and quite tasty. With the added chicken, we were both full and after our drinks, we were ready for a lovely walk back into the town. The Patriots were on a very large TV, the atmosphere was quite fun, and there were two different parties happening during our stay. Kudos to the great spot

Google
Very nice place. Good people working there. Really good pizza. Very good beer. Nice outdoor seating area. Pet friendly. We're there as part if the IPA 5K

Yelp
Whenever we visit Salem, my husband and I always make it a point to take the commuter rail out to Newburyport to visit RiverWalk. We usually sit outside in the beer garden and relax with some brews. Our favorites are the IPAs, RiverWalk has some really tasty ones. The day they started having pizza on the menu was monumental because the pies are really delicious! We aren't big eaters but the two of us devour the whole pie because it is so good! I always find the staff very pleasant and helpful. I really love RiverWalk, I wish I was there right now!

Michael C.

Yelp
Cool place to walk into as you walk through the door you can see them brewing or canning the beer. Then you walk into the bar and restaurant portion of the brewery where you can sit at the bar and simply the beer they make and get a pizza or nachos which are pretty good service is excellent as well very informative about the beer as well place is very casual and up to date they also are transgender friendly as well good place to eat drink and be merry

Stephanie V.

Yelp
They had a good variety of food. The pickle pizza was a nice surprise to see as a special on the menu for the day. As a big fan of pickles, it could have used more, but it was still good. Nice, relaxing environment. The staff were really nice.

Katie C.

Yelp
Cool place. Fast, friendly service. Pumpkin beer was really good! Food was tasty - the wings were AMAZING. They're beer braised, extremely tender and very flavorful. Pizza was just okay (sorry, I'm a New Yorker) but still enjoyable. My husband enjoyed the beer; he bought a four pack of Hit of Haze. Fun, local place! Worth a visit, for sure!

Jay P.

Yelp
Nice hidden gem in the back of a industrial park. I read many of the reviews and I agree, the waitstaff could be friendlier, but that shouldn't effect the beer and seltzers. We tried three or four different brews and were pleased with the taste and presentation. The seltzers were really good as well, surprisingly, since they are usually an afterthought at a brewery. The cost was reasonable, given it's a touristy spot.

Luana F.

Yelp
First time coming here and it was so nice! We sat outside as I had my dog with me. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I have the sour and it was amazing. We also ordered the wings and a Crunchwrap both amazing. I LOVED the wing sauce Can't wait to come back here.

Ralph S.

Yelp
Always a great beer selection along with alternatives and a bunch nice apps, pizza and sandwiches to munch on. Big outdoor seating area right along the Clipper City Rail Trail with lots of room for the kids and plenty of parking, too. Head for the wind mill and you're there!

Crystal G.

Yelp
This place was a huge highlight on our weekend trip to Newburyport! The service was so friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the beers and seltzers we had were great, and while we didn't eat our friends did and said the pizza and pretzels were amazing! We went here twice in one weekend because we enjoyed it so much!

Gregg S.

Yelp
Pizza is good. Beer selection is good Service also good. They need someone to actually act as a hostess and seat people when they arrive. We always seem to have to wait awkwardly for an extended period until someone can get around to seating us. Parking can be a challenge when it's busy here

Ruth G.

Yelp
Great place to visit! Fabulous pizza, delicious food and awesome beer. Family friendly.

Barry K.

Yelp
Beers were good. We sat on a bench outside. Definitely the best pizza I've ever had in a brewery. Thin crust, crispy, cheesy, and flavorful. Wish there were more toppings. I'd love to come back here

Tom J.

Yelp
Apps are horrible. Pizza and beer is great. Wait staff are horrible. Absolutely horrible!!!!!! They would rather sit in the corner and eat all the mistakes, then wait on people. It takes forever to get a second beer. It takes forever to order food. They all gather around the kitchen, eating food, paying no attention to the dining room. If they only did their job, I'm sure sales would be through the roof.

Harold S.

Yelp
Pizzas looked fantastic, but I didn't get one. Tried 4 different beers on tap. All had great flavor, personal favorite was Tangerine Skies. The Food Menu was impressive for a small brewery; Sweet & Spicy Snack Mix was a bold mix (included wasabi peas, sweet peanuts, and more!) to complement your drinks and is a great tag along if you're looking for a small snack. Atmosphere was nice, lights gave a good vibe and facilities were very well kept. Would recommend. Simply, Simpkins

Vic C.

Yelp
Good place to get together with friends. Beer selections are great and their pizza is really good NY style with a foldable crust and a fresh tomato flavored sauce.

J P.

Yelp
Its taken me a long time to post this review because it pains me. Ive been a loyal customer of Riverwalk since they opened their doors at their first location and had loved their beers. While enjoying my favorite beer, screen door, this past summer I noticed the fine print on their menu. They were taking the money I was spending on my favorite beer and donating the proceeds to a "charity" called the Brigid Alliance. After a quick google search I was shocked to learn that they had put me in a position that I was indirectly funding the barbaric act of Abortion. That will be the last riverwalk beer I will ever purchase. Others can follow their own conscience in deciding whether to spend their money at this establishment.

Erin D.

Yelp
Nice brewery, lots of room. Plenty staff, but let us stand there waiting to be seated. Girls were filing beer cooler. We sat outside, great area, lots of kids...good family environment. But again nobody paid us anymind. Took forever to put an order in. The name of the game is to make money. But they were not interested.

Yelp
During the COVID-19 stay at home advisory, I was so hard pressed to go out to a restaurant/brewery/bar, that the moment the governor introduced phase 2 of the opening, I made a reservation to go and enjoy a beer and a simple meal at this brewery I've long wanted to go to. We had to make a reservation beforehand, and we did. When we went there, we were pointed to the outside area. We were given a paper menu. I ordered the purple label and my partner ordered the flagship Riverwalk IPA. We also ordered a pretzel. The Riverwalk IPA was fine, but the purple label was really delicious. I'm not that much into dark beers, but this one was amazing, with a note of blackberry and dark roast coffee. After the purple label, I ordered the brown label. This one was also good and did have a strong star anise flavor to it, though I couldn't taste the almond flavor. When we were sitting and enjoying the beer, the server brought us an experimental pizza the restaurant was trying out. It was a 4 cheese blend, and it was good. I'd recommend them to sell the pizza. It was thin in crust and rich in flavor. The pretzel was also good, though not out of the ordinary. My rating reverts to the normal rubric with the Corona advisory coming to an end. 50% for food/drinks, 30% for service and 20% for everything else. I rate 5 to everything, so an overall rating of 5.0. Pro-tip: I'd definitely recommend this place after a nice walk by the river and a beer after. Definitely give the purple label a try, you don't find that many blackberry porters.

Yelp
First time having the Riverwalk IPA. Outstanding service, very good beer. Legendary place!

Anne C.

Yelp
Ordered pizza to go, was told 20 minutes Went to pick up Wasn't busy there, and customer service was awful., very rude After 40 minutes he finally found my pizza, listed under wife's name which was not name we gave Got home with pizza only to find it was burned. Won't be back

Sarah M.

Yelp
We make the drive up from Boston every few weeks to get some outdoor space and fresh air. Wonderful beer and service! Our kids and dogs love the space too.

Colleen K.

Yelp
Very cool brewery. Kind of random location, but it is just a short uber ride from downtown which is well worth it. Very friendly staff. Nice size place and they have a bunch of picnic tables set up outside. Lots of room outback, as a group of kids were playing wiffle ball. We opted for the life size jenga. Newburyport actually has quite a few brewery spots and this one should be on your list!

Shauna L.

Yelp
This place is cute. It's a Small place only a few seats at a bar top and a corner table and two old school video games. You can have some free samples. Which is nice, it's about the beer. Try it. Like it. Buy it. Or not. I enjoyed all of my samples. My husband and I both enjoyed the Uncle Bob. And the story of Uncle Bob too. :-) They have growlers, growletts and cans to purchase.

Chris C.

Yelp
Really nice atmosphere. The beer and pizza is great! Thin crust and the crisp is perfect!

Jackie W.

Yelp
This was my first trip to RiverWalk and I was impressed! They had many COVID precautions in place but it was still an enjoyable experience. Super nice outdoor space, filled up QUICK- got there a little before they opened at noon on a Sunday and nearly all tables were full by 12:30. I ordered the EB, one of the most unique sandwiches I've ever had- open face on banana bread, with smoked provolone and came with a hefty portion of ham, pineapple salsa and slaw. It sounded like such a weird combo that I couldn't NOT order it and I was pleasantly surprised! Great mix of sweet and smoky/savory and a large portion. My friend got the wings and said they were great. Beers were decent- we only ordered one but I would have had more if not for a time crunch. The taproom looked like a good place to hang out in "normal" times!

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
Staff is rude. Beer is average. Couldn't try food since they ran out of chicken and that made up 90% of the menu.

Todd W.

Yelp
The bartender with the beard seemed completely miserable. Did not smile once. Our pizza was good, but it took an hour to arrive. Our waitress was less then personable. Forgot a part of our order which happens. But zero accountability or apology. Just shrugged and walked away. The mens room had a bunch of paper towels all over the floor. When I approached a member of the staff about the bad experience, he gave the worst excuse ever. He said they were busy. He was talking to two young women, so he couldn't have been that busy in his vest and tie outfit. I never complain but this was awful.

Gus C.

Yelp
I've been to hundreds of breweries. Service was terrible, the girl working the check in desk was an airhead . The mandatory food was terrible . The large kids birthday party with balloons sent me over the edge. Parents of the year !! And the beer was mediocre at best . One beer and I left . Throwback a few miles away 10 times better .

Andrew S.

Yelp
Large groups beware!! I've been a fan of Riverwalk's beers for quite some time, so I expected to have an equally enjoyable experience visiting the brewery, but that was hardly the case when my group of 10 tried to get some beers as part of a birthday celebration. We ordered our initial beers without issue, chatting pleasantly with the staff, seated ourselves at the picnic tables in the beer garden, and had some pizzas delivered. However, when I went to the bar to order my second beer (the first one out of our group to try doing so), I was informed by the manager that our ENTIRE PARTY WOULD NO LONGER BE SERVED. When asked for an explanation, he simply said that we were a large group and he had assumed that we had already had some drinks elsewhere that afternoon. We had been quietly keeping to ourselves, had done nothing to disturb other patrons or the staff, and showed no signs of being overserved, so this came totally out of the blue. A couple of people in our group had small dogs with them, so a large part of the reason we chose to come to Riverwalk was because they allowed dogs, but once we were asked to leave, our options were limited when it came to finding another establishment that could accommodate us, which in turn led to several members of our party going home much earlier than initially planned, putting a large damper on the evening (it was only about 8:00 at this point, by the way). It's been about 24 hours and I'm still bewildered by what happened; in my 10+ years of visiting breweries, I've never been to one that treated respectful, paying customers this way. If they suspected that one of us was too intoxicated to drive, I would understand if they wanted to stop serving that specific person, but to shut off an entire party after one round is utter absurdity. They can be sure that I or any of the rest of my group will not be returning for another visit, and I caution any other large groups before planning an outing to Riverwalk, because there's a good chance your money won't be any good there.

Molli W.

Yelp
Riverwalk brewing company is the Star of the north shore. Unlike many other breweries who are in it for the money--this company is in it for the pure love of beer! The flavors are unique and crafted by hand and by heart. It's a small space so I wouldn't recommend going here to drink and hang out, but even better I would suggest taking your beer home and enjoying it in the beautiful surrounding that Newburyport provides! Check their facebook or give them a call for hours as they tend to vary, and if you're in the area it's a must try--If they are closed and you still want to try (because you really should) stop by a local restaurant like The Grog or The Deck and grab a glass on draft!

Erin T.

Yelp
We visited soon after outdoor seating reopened. Our table was more than sufficiently far from other people, all the servers wore masks and all the guests wore masks if they were passing through inside (where there is plenty of floorspace, high ceilings and open windows) - it felt very safe and I wouldn't be worried about going back again. We also were very nicely given a free sample of the Old Man By the Sea pizza and it was genuinely delicious. I say this as a pizza snob from New Jersey. Good beer, good pizza and a lovely experience coming out of this long lockdown!

Tom S.

Yelp
As of right now this is just a tasting room, so it is just samples but they are in the process of moving to a full size taproom with a beer garden and everything. They have a handful of beers available to sample (they are free!) and if you like what you try they have it available for purchase. It's a cool little place but not a lot going on at the moment. Can't wait until they open the beer garden!

Lisa R.

Yelp
This place is amazing the 2 reasons I couldn't do 5 stars was 1. The lack of signage making it difficult to find them and 2. Bees other than that the beer service and food was fantastic !!

Matt K.

Yelp
Always been a fan of Riverwalk's beer. Made it over to the new brewery today for a beer and a few growler fills - what an awesome place! Family friendly, plenty of space & amazing beer. My only complaint is it's not closer to me!

Keith A.

Yelp
Great beer, with great local vibe. Don't go when they play live music! So loud that you can't hear yourself think. If you can go outside and get away from music then it's worth it.

Robin W.

Yelp
Mike, our server was outstanding- interested, enthusiastic, fun and one of our best servers ever! Thanks Mike!

Lisa B.

Yelp
I accidentally discovered their beers because I was attracted to the growlette in the package store. What a happy accident! Love their IPA! Blackberry porter! And the kettle ale. I love the richness of their IPA- full bodied, smells like I am standing in the field of hops. Rich aromatic.

Emily M.

Yelp
I recently hosted a fundraising event at RiverWalk Brewing with ~75 people. Planning the event, Chuck was very easy to work with and made the entire process stress-free. During the event, his staff worked tirelessly to ensure that all of the visitors were quickly served food and beer. Their outdoor area is a great vibe with string lights and picnic tables.

Alex S.

Yelp
Good beer, mediocre food & terrible service. You're better off buying the drinks elsewhere if you really want some

Evelyn S.

Yelp
Not the easiest place to find initially- need better signage. Atmosphere was ok, outdoor beer garden looked nice. Beer was just ok, nothing amazing. Food was awful and overpriced. Agree w other reviewer throwback has much better beer and really good food- and outdoor seating not far away.

Mia H.

Yelp
I was here to celebrate a friends birthday, after 1 round of drinks, we were cut off. I would understand if we were causing a scene, or were being loud or something along those lines. However, that simply was not the case. It's too bad because we were really enjoying ourselves and the venue. I was even thinking to myself how I would like to come back, then they cut us off for no real reason. If it was possible to give this pace 0 stars, I would.

Robert P.

Yelp
We have been here a few times and really like the new location. The staff has always been friendly and the also supported us with a fundraiser for 'Bowling for Rhinos' which was much appreciated. The bar food is just that, bar food; I would suggest the frito pie :). They even have what looks to be a new room for parents with young kids. We like that too (much better than having the rugrats running around and causing havoc in the main area) Ted Dibiase dipa is my current fav.

Kate C.

Yelp
They allow dogs outside in their awesome outdoor space. Great beer. Sandwiches were good. We had a fun time and are always happy to find dog friendly spots. We will return when in the area!!

Barbara M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the beer and ambiance but they REALLY need to step up their food quality if they are going to continue offering food. The trail mix is laughable, they charged $5 for chex mix, chocolate chips and CUMIN. Not ONE single nut. The paninis are overpriced and completely lack any flavor. I'd go back to have a beer, but would never eat there again.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this brewery after hearing wonderful things. A group of us went there on a Saturday evening. After ordering 1 beer and heading to the bar for another we were informed that our entire group was cut off. This was at 8pm. I'm 31 years old and have never been cut off in my life. If anyone in my party was unruly, rude, or loud I would have understood this. However, this was not the case. After asking why we were cut off we were told that we "had been out all day". I'm unsure where this assumption came from or what it was based off of. It's unfortunate that a nice venue with great beer has such poor and judgmental management.

Ken V.

Yelp
Please know that this is NOT a "tasting" room. Get your pints, growlers, 4 packs right here. Friendly, helpful staff recommended a flight. I open to try full pints and didn't find one I particularly liked before I got to to the point where I couldn't get home. Lots of IPAs, which aren't my favorite anyway. They swap out old growlers for new, unlike the competing brewery in town which just fill up the old one, no matter how it smells when they pry the sticky old caps off.

Emily M.

Yelp
Riverwalk Brewing - you are so cool. We came here on our quest to complete the Massachusetts craft beer passport. The funny thing is that unless we had done that we'd never seen or heard of Riverwalk beer because they had not yet started bottling (but they have now). This is some good beer. They also have some great stories. Uncle Bob's bitter is a great beer with a great story - so really the best of both worlds. They had a great couple of porters on tap when we visited, and some English styles that we did not think we would like, but ended up loving. A hidden gem for sure!

Noah S.

Yelp
My wife and I had come to this brewery 4-5 times. Even bought beer to go during covid. When the patio opened we brought our own food and sat and had beers without any issue. Today we showed up with our own food and the rude owner told us we weren't allowed to because they were serving their own pizza. No sign on the door or info on the website indicating this new policy. Also tried to accuse us of lying about bringing food last visit. Never been to a brewery so disappointed and rudely addressed. Never going to this brewery ever again. Go to Newburyport Brewing instead, more than willing to accommodate and much friendlier.

Kristi Y.

Yelp
Great beer, friendly staff - can't wait to watch them grow! Went for tastings and a tour - tried 5 of their beers (on the house) and was really pleased with their "Unveiled" beer. Their IPA with citrus and pine was also very enjoyable. Not only do they have growlers, they have growlettes! Looking forward to what they make next!

Jill F.

Yelp
I live in PA and was visiting my niece in Ipswich. This was her choice to celebrate with family and friends for her birthday and her families move to California. Great beer, great food, great staff! We all had a wonderful time hanging outside. My bag was left in all the confusion and they even shipped it to me. Thanks!
