My husband and I came here on a date as someone told him about this restaurant. We love the location nice spot for a date with a clean, upscale atmosphere and good service. However, the food was just okay and didn’t quite meet our expectations for an upscale restaurant. Caesar salad was delicious though, my crab cake taste good but have had better, his steak was not to his liking. But we had a great time nonetheless. Presentation was nice, but the flavors lacked depth. Overall, it was decent, but it could have been better. Love the outdoor lake view would be perfect for summer. I will definitely try again hopefully it can be a better experience next time around with the food.

Excellent!! We were at a Family Gathering within a Banquet Room. I observed and spoke with several patrons that spoke highly of Their experience. Definitely worth a visit, also the grounds overlooking the River and Skyline of Phila(parking and Picnic on the banks) for free are worth the visit.

Youd figure an upscale place would have good food but after our dinner I had to stop at pizza joint to make up for it. Charcuterie was a bit lacking, salads were the only thing done right which is kinda sad, and the entrées were honestly the worst. My risotto was a bland mushy mess with green onion thrown on and rubbery scallops. Also their colossal shrimp are just jumbos lol. Definitely not getting what you pay for here and you're paying a lot. Only saving grace was the wait staff and its location on the river. Honestly I'd save your money and go somewhere that isn't afraid of a spice rack

I have attended multiple private events at Riverwinds and each time never ceases to amaze me. The food, the drinks, the service, and the overall atmosphere has been nothing but spectacular. The serving size of the dinners is not only well over enough but absolutely delicious. I am so happy with every event I’ve attended.

The food and service is really and the views are really nice. There is a walking path down by the water, you can watch the planes coming in Philly airport

We had thanksgiving dinner here and it was excellent! The place was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. We had a table water side. It was really nice. I opted for the filet instead of traditional thanksgiving dinner, and my wife had the fish. One of our other part members got the thanksgiving feast. Everyone loved their meals. I had a pear old fashioned that was absolutely amazing! With drinks the meal worked out to roughly $100 per person. I look forward to coming back in the summer months to enjoy the view while it's still light outside.

I've been to Riverwinds several times over the years, and it continues to impress me every time. Nestled right on the river, the setting is absolutely beautiful, whether you're enjoying a sunny afternoon or a peaceful evening, the view always adds something special to the experience. The staff are truly exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, they create an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The service is consistently superb and efficient without ever feeling rushed, and always with a personal touch. As for the food, it's delicious, every single time. The menu offers a great variety, and everything is always flavorful, and beautifully presented. No matter what you're in the mood for, you’ll find something to love here. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors alike!

Always liked this place. Bar area: A Outside Views: A+ Food: B Ambiance: B Value: B+ Service: A+ It's a bit loud inside, which is fine if your party matches. If trying to do a quiet brunch with your folks, maybe not. Extensive wine list is a plus. Bartenders take good care of you. Servers are also attentive. The best part of the restaurant is the view of the river and Philly. Overall, and enjoyable experience.

Hello Darlings! A get-together with another couple brought us here last weekend. We had a splendid time catching up on life over some pretty good eats at this spot in West Deptford. Hubby and I have been here once or twice before for special occasions and had a marvelous dinner on each of those outings, except I committed a serious transgression by not writing about it/them here in Yelpland. So in an effort to set things right, it's time to share this most recent experience with my dear readers. Let's get into that now, shall we? Riverwinds is part of a golf course / country club and has a fantastic view of South Philly and the Delaware from its wall of windows facing West. The restaurant is on the main floor of the building and they also have banquet facilities for weddings and other gatherings. The building itself and its interior are attractive and as stated, the views are fantastic. However Darlings, the atmosphere is loud; the space on the main floor is very spacious (high ceilings, etc.) and the acoustics don't allow for those quiet intimate dinners for two. For us, we had a challenging time hearing each other. Riverwinds does, however, have an outdoor patio that also overlooks the Delaware and if your party wants a bit more quiet it may be worth your while to seek a table outside when the weather is nice. Service here was outstanding. Our server was a lovely woman who looked after us without being annoying. Fare is pretty much American and while it's good (filet mignon is wonderful...although Your Host didn't have on this go-round), be warned Darlings that it IS a bit on the pricey side. The four of us all ordered from the $35 section of the menu and we were all satisfied with our selections. Bevs are the stand-bys (beers, wines, cocktails, soft drinks, etc.); Your Host and the Hubs had Pina Coladas, which were sublime. Take it from moi that they come HIGHLY recommended. So, Darlings, hope that this the 4-1-1 on this place is informative (you bet is is!!) and know that Jonathan would approve! Give this place a visit, and get back to me... Your Host

Food is great with scenic waterfront by the Delaware River . High capacity restaurant with wonderful staffs providing good customer service and experience. Place is huge and spacious with huge parking spaces too. Celebrated my son's birthday there with a group of 12 people.

Came here for a baby shower. Host and servers were great. The restaurant looks over the water. A wonderful view! The food was just okay for me. They give you large portions. I am a plain eater but they slather everything with a sauce. I had a large crab cake atop smashed potatoes covered in sauce. I looked around and saw that the other available entrees were covered with sauce. Next time I go, I'll order all sauce on the side.

Decent place for dinner, has a great view of the water. A bit expensive for my taste for the quality of food. Folks seem to really enjoy the bar.

Great place to eat and has amazing service. Whether it's a business meeting or just going to have a nice dinner, you will not be let down. Ambiance over overlooking the river and watching planes land at the Philadelphia Airport is pretty cool sit back and watch. The crab cake and the fish choices are all very good.

The food is always suburb, flavorful, and consistent. My parents always come here and we usually celebrate family events and milestones at this restaurant. This one was for my father's bday. They booked the private room and it seats about 10 people. My only drawback is that they do not have a kids menu and they made it very clear. It makes it hard to order something for children in your party. I did feel like on a Sunday night we could have had two people but I don't know how their deployment works in this case. The gentleman was attentive, but we usually have multiple servers when we book a private room. I have tried most things on the menu and I'm glad to say that I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

For a $150.00 + check I was very disappointed. The place is beautiful, the waitress very pleasant but I could have had a better mesl at any South Jersey diner.

Has my Mom's 75th Birthday party here at Riverwinds. We had a private room which was much better than being in an open seating setting. The food was awesome. The Sangria was overly sweet and could have better chilled, but was beautifully presented. The appetizers were good. I wish there could have been little signs indicating what was on the platter. Thanks for making sure my Mom had a memorable event.

Probably the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. Cleanliness: all of the dishes were filthy. Wine glass had someone's lip stains still on it. All of the water glasses had specs of dirt that looked like bacteria buildup. Service: Our server was completely absent. Took 15 mins to be seen by one. She took our drink order but not food. Shows up 15 mins later with drinks and only asks us for appetizers. When I flag her down another 20 mins later about the dirty wine glass, she neglects to take our entree order. Food: For appetizers the mussels were not properly cleaned. They were covered in sand and some were still closed. The broth was not flavorful whatsoever. Also got hummus which was pretty underwhelming. The crab cake sandwich entree was decent, but nothing spectacular. Only saving grace was the key lime pie that honestly looked like it was made elsewhere. I think another reviewer was spot on. This was borderline diner level food but had higher end city prices just because of the view and neighborhood. My family came here to scope it out for a potential graduation party, but there is no chance I would ever consider this place.

The food was good (cheesesteak egg rolls, beef teriyaki, and Diablo seafood linguini) as was our waitress, who was lovely. Issue was one of the hostesses, who was SO rude, when we asked for a picture she completely ignored us for a few minutes (leaving us standing there super awkwardly) and asked the hostess next to her to do so in the most demeaning voice possible. That hostess who ended up taking a photo was so kind and lovely (a redhead with glasses), but her companion left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. We didn't ask her to perform neurosurgery, and the least she could've done was be polite. This was the reason I knocked two stars off, because she was so rude and arrogant that it kind of ruined our night because everyone else here was so polite and nice.

Horrible went on Mother's Day was very disappointed sat in a bar area and an obvious attempt to have more people in the building. However, it was chilly. The service was OK. Acted as if she really didn't want to be there cause she was tired in the room is very nice, but by the outside bar area it was just so so.

I always loved Riverwinds for their spectacular view, but tonight I got a different type of view of the manager, cursing out her staff member. It was so unprofessional and very uncomfortable to hear. I just can't believe you let your manager treat employees like this and this isn't the first time I've witnessed this. I've never seen the same waitress twice and I guess there's a reason.

Riverwinds has one of the most gorgeous views out of every restaurant in the area. The ambience is amazing and you feel like you've been transported to a completely different place upon entering. I just really wish the food matched the ambience. Now I'm not saying the food is bad, it's not. It's just not fantastic. It doesn't match the vibe that Riverwinds seems to try to convey. I have been here for dinner for many family celebrations, but never for lunch. My mom and I decided to dine outside on a gorgeous September afternoon. The weather was perfect and we were seated in a shady spot out of the sun. The views were immaculate, but then all of a sudden the spotted lantern flies began landing on the table and on us. I can't blame the restaurant for this, because those things are everywhere and I don't think there has been a proven way to control them yet, but everyone around us was swatting them and stomping on them the entire time. We enjoyed our cocktails and were given warm bread, which consisted of torpedo style rolls and whipped butter. Bread says a lot about an establishment. I feel like even if they change their bread style and give an herbed butter it would take the whole experience up a notch. We went with the cheesesteak spring rolls as an app and I will say they do them well. They pair them with ketchup for dipping and what they describe as a smoked tomato coulis. I would love to see a creamy horseradish crema as a dip option, I think it would pair amazingly well and give the option of a non tomato based dip instead of two tomato based options. We each got salads, I opted for the Cobb, and again, nothing wrong with it, it just could be better. A cob salad is usually served with a creamy dressing, like blue cheese or ranch, but this had an herbed vinaigrette. My mom got the very berry salad with the lemoncello vinaigrette and she raved about her dressing. Overall the experience was relaxing aside from the lantern flies, but I just would love to see more unique food options and a bit of fun added to the menu to make this place truly stand out among the rest.

This place is awesome! The crab cocktail was a must get item. I did a surf and turf and added shrimp which was all very good. The views of Philly are great. Take advantage of the outside patio on a nice day. Service was good and food came out quick. Dinner rolls were just okay a little stale. Cesar salad was just okay a little soggy. Baked potato was just okay. Mojito was just okay. Overall I'd recommend this spot.

Very disappointing. Dined at Riverwinds many times in the past but everything changed. Tacky inside and the food was terrible. I had the Branzino and it was filled with bones. They use to filet at the table but no longer. Plain, boring white rice and bland spinach. Two other family members had the shrimp and only had three on the plate. Only positive remark is the view. Won't ever go back.

It was a sunny Sunday so took a ride with some friends to enjoy the wonderful view and delicious food. I ordered the special which was a fresh flounder over grilled vegetables which was very good. Two orders of the scallops. My wife liked them very much but wished there was one more scallop. There were three. Our other friend had the crabby delight and substituted vegetables for the pasta. She liked it very much. Apps were the calamari which was very good and Buffalo shrimp which I really liked. Service from Vinny was friendly and efficient. He added to a wonderful experience

We love River Winds! Fabulous! We enjoyed a fantastic meal on Saturday night and had a great server, Kim. She was outstanding and she said it was her last night of training. Well she provided excellent service with a friendly, professional attitude! Please commend her for a job well done!

We celebrated my Aunt birthday at Riverwinds Restaurant. This restaurant have several different dinning areas. The service is top notch, and the food is tasty and fresh. The ambiance was pleasant and the scenery was awesome. My Crabby Delight was delicious. There was a lot of crab meat, sun dried tomatoes, and small amount of spinach on angel hair pasta. I asked for the lemon wine and garlic sauce on the side. I had no leftovers, the meal was delicious.

I've only been here to use the community rooms for events and take photos by the water. I must say that I have been awakened, and this will be one of my new favorite spots. It felt like my crab cake was melting in my mouth. I probably shouldn't have finished it all, but I just couldn't imagine it tasting as amazing the next day. The lobster sauce was simply chef's kiss. The mashed potatoes and asparagus a wonderful complement. I will be back!!

I think the exorbitant price of things has been normalized to the point that it reflects more poorly on me for complaining about it, then it does for the business charging these ridiculous prices. I just don't understand why it's standard practice to charge $11 for a GLASS of Mark West Pinot Noir, when a BOTTLE is $12. I can understand SOME of the entrees; I had the ahi tuna noodles at it was like $25. I figure after buying an ahi tuna steak, some soba noodles, sesame seeds, seasoning and sauces, and cook it, I've spent close enough to that cost to justify the extra expense. But how hard is to open a bottle of wine? I say all that to say, Riverwinds is overpriced. It's decent. The outside view was really nice, the wait staff was ok; (our waiter was pleasant, but didn't bring our bread [I had to ask for it, after seeing other tables get it], didn't tell us the specials, and didn't really check on us.) But it just wasn't a $90 lunch, which is what I paid. As mentioned, I got the Ahi Tuna noodles, and the wife got the "crabby delight," which is like a crab meat pasta dish. Those entrees, one glass of wine, and one chocolate martini came out to over $75. After tip, we spent almost $100 for lunch. The food was good, but it just wasn't a $100 lunch day. Parking is free, and there is a little trail and stuff that you can walk, if you're so inclined, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. Maybe when I just come to terms with how much things cost nowadays, or if I decide to come here for dinner and not drink anything. Eh.

Service is usually slow. Bartenders are rude , only seems to pay attention to the regulars. Need to get a little upbeat servers that want to talk to people. If it wasn't for the view that place would be boring

Really enjoyed my meal here! We were in a private room overlooking the Delaware River and Philadelphia skyline for my brother's rehearsal dinner. View was spectacular, particular on the attached private balcony. Appetizers consisted of calamari and cheesesteak egg rolls which were self-serve on the back table. Both choices were tasty. My main was filet mignon, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested. My wife had stuffed shrimp, which was also delicious. Table service was a tad slow, but very attentive. Bar service was disappointing, I think the bartender may have been new and was clearly overwhelmed. I wouldn't hesitate to have a private function there again, the views alone are almost worth the price of admission.

I went here for dinner and let me tell you the food is delicious. I had the Jack Daniel's Pork Chops and it was great, it was tender and had great flavor, I would suggest you try it out for yourself. Our server was awesome as she attended to all of our needs. Great views looking on the water. When the weather warms up you can also dine outside.

Went to celebrate a birthday and this spot is quite nice. The view is amazing. The skyline beautiful. Can't wait to go back on a warm day to eat outside. For a starter we had the CheeseSteak Rolls and Buffalo Shrimp. The rolls were delicious and came with two sauces, I preferred the ketchup. The Buffalo Shrimp weren't really spicy and had a light sauce on them, I would have preferred a little more Buffalo. For my main entree I had the Lamb...so tender. The mashed potatoes were good not a fan of the broccoli rabe. Overall, I would go again and would definitely try other items on the menu. Service was average. When a staff member was unable to help he was quick to get someone the could until our server returned.

Another fantastic experience at one of my favorite go to spots! First time celebrating Thanksgiving out, and it was awesome to spend it here! We opt as a party of four, for the whole turkey carved at the table experience. The turkey was tender and moist and came with five sides plus desserts. Our sides included, stuffing, mashed potato, mashed turnips, green beans, and cranberry sauce. Lots of leftovers for home, even though it was very busy, our waitress was excellent, and delivered in a timely manner. Would we do it this way again? Most definitely!

Wow great ambiance but WAY OVERPRICED for the quality served. Great place to eat if you are on a diet. Small portions with a BIG price. We had a birthday event so there were many variations ordered. The food was AVERAGE and the portions were ok if you were not hungry. Next year anywhere else!

The view is incredible especially in the evening hours!! Riverwinds offers one of the very best visual experiences of any restaurant on either side of the Delaware in the Philadelphia area. My dining partner noted that residents of Philadelphia should consider crossing a bridge and eating at Riverwinds where the parking is free AND SAFE, the road traffic non-existent, and the view of the Delaware River and Philadelphia at night amazing!! Dining out should always involve the visual and Riverwinds clearly provides the view but the interior is truly appealing as well. Someone gave a lot of thought when designing the restaurant's interior and lighting; a perfect romantic setting. And, the food presentation is so eye appealing that you almost don't want to ruin the image by eating but .... the food will make you want to come back over and over again! When you enter you are greeted with smiles and warmth!! Throughout your meal you are cared for as if you matter!! It just adds to the entire experience!! So, so good! If you already aren't planning a trip to West Deptford New Jersey then perhaps you need to know how good the food is! The menu has a variety of options that should offer something for everyone. WE chose the lobster-shrimp bisque (Ok, I chose that.). My entree was the Asian Ahi Tuna and my dining partner went for the $33.99 House Selection Grilled Angus Ribeye. We both chose the Caesar Salad. Starting with the bisque was the right choice because it was luxurious with the perfect hint of lobster (Not quite sure where the shrimp was but given the choice give me lobster!). Now you may have noticed a surprise rating below the fifth star that you might think would be shining due to this review well it starts with Mr. Caesar's salad. Perhaps the Riverwinds' kitchen thought the salad should be related to the famous comedian Sid Caesar rather than with Caesar Cardini because the dressing on top of this salad's romaine was unusually sweet. There was no Parmesan on the salad but Parmesan would have made the taste even more unusual. It was passable and we both ate the salad but Caesar it wasn't (No hints of anchovies, garlic, Dijon, pepper, Worcestershire or Parmesan)... we were disappointed. Another disappointment were the croutons that come from the pedestrian football shaped rolls served with dinner; bland and non-descript but we didn't come to dinner for the rolls. Now the Asian Ahi Tuna was truly perfection on a plate with more tuna than I would have expected prepared exactly medium rare. The soba noodle salad's soy/saki wine glaze was yummy and the snap peas added the needed "crunch" texture to the dish. The House Selection ribeye featured flavorful melt in your mouth steak over a smashed blend of red bliss potatoes with "snappy" asparagus. We were both smiling ... until ... the discovery moment of the meal. The kitchen somehow thought that a 1 inch by 1/2 inch piece of grizzle would be an attractive touch to a delicious steak. Perhaps someone thought it was "eye candy" to be added to one's selfie of the night because everyone enjoys seeing grizzle, right? Little bits of fat cannot compare to chunks of grizzle for meal satisfaction! So, we decided to just enjoy the meal and leave the grizzle for the chef's photo display. That grizzle combined with the salad eliminated any possible fifth star to this rating. Now, the House Selection came with dessert so we chose the strawberry ice cream and it was creamy smooth and served with a good strawberry sauce. The meal was filling so two desserts were not needed. We learned a long time ago to skip the bottle of wine when eating out due to inflated prices. So, this commentary is just an advisory ... RIVERWINDS, like all too many restaurants, triples or quadruples the price for their bottles of wine. When I arrived home I did a search on more than a half dozen of their bottles and found the same bottles at my local liquor store for prices well below what we might have paid but we are smarter than that. So, if you are looking for a romantic dinner out or if the world has worn you down and you just want to escape for dinner or lunch think the RIVERWINDS! If you want to escape the city ... think the RIVERWINDS!! Just ask that the grizzle remains in the kitchen and plan for your wine once you get home.

Beautiful ambiance, new server, not the best service, but most of all poor front of the house management! It was my grandmother's 77th birthday. Just 3 of us for lunch. We were seated promptly and given options for table preference. For that, the host staff was great. the server came to the table promptly to offer us drinks, but took 15mins after the drinks came to actually take our order. the server was nice and bubbly but seemed to forget many of the details of our order. We were also not given proper place settings at the table, and told the server but she forgot until we reminded her. the restaurant was not busy, so im not sure why she was so forgetful. We did not get bread until we asked. My mother and grandmother enjoyed their dishes but it was nothing to brag about. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli which did not taste good. I sent it back and ordered the Bronzino pan fried crispy and substituted the rice for mashed potatoes. the server came back with a soggy fish and white rice. i again had to remind her. Finally she brought a slice of cheesecake for my grandma with no candle. She said "oh wait i forgot the candle I'll be right back". she didnt sing, no one made it special for my grandma. We asked for a manager and after 20mins of a waiting for the manager to come to our table, in a nonbusy restaurant, a short woman with dark hair came over with attitude. we told her about our experience and it being our first and last time here. The manager seemed not to care bur apologized foe the issues and credited us for one glass of wine, on a $200 bill!!! Needless to say, we definitely will not be back. we traveled from Eastampton to dine here and it was not worth the drive. Couldve had much better service ans perhaps better food at Bonefish Grill!

I moved away from NJ years ago, and I always wished a nice restaurant would open up in the Paulsboro-W Deptford area. The River Winds area had so much potential, and they are definitely capitalizing on it. What a wonderful addition to this area. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or just going out with friends. Others love the cheesesteak springrolls, but I found mine to be somewhat dry. The roll was did not have much flavor, or than a deep-fried taste. I liked their twist on bruschetta, with the mozzarella base. The soba noodles compliments the ahi tuna perfectly....one of my favorite dishes. The salmon was perfectly prepared. Thankfully, not overcooked. It was moist, flaky, and flavorful. My buddy loved the shrimp tacos, but they're just not my thing. I am glad I got dessert. The balance of flavors with the peanut butter chocolate cake was perfect: mostly chocolate flavor with the background taste of peanut butter. After all that, we walked off the filling meal with a stroll by the river and then the jogging trail through the woods. Ahhh....Can't wait to do this all again.

Riverwinds is definitely a place where you get five star food every time! I've been there a few times and hope to be going again since it's quite local to me. Myself and the people with me have never been disappointed in the food or service. It can be a busy place and a bit loud when crowded but nothing you can't tolerate. When it isn't crowded and still light out, it is a delight to view the river while dining. I would consider this a rather fancy restaurant but it doesn't feel "stuffy", and you do not have to get all dressed up in your Sunday clothes to go. Great place to go to celebrate a special occasion!

Beautiful location. Excellent service. Fair prices. Only downside of the experience and it's not of the restaurants control is the overwhelming amount of spotted lantern flies outdoors which makes it impossible to enjoy dining outdoors near the river. The food: ordered the crab cake sandwich with steak fries and grilled chicken stir fry. (Lunch menu items) Crab patty was meaty and full of crab..little filling. The stir fry over jasmine rice was perfect. Nicely seasoned and not too salty. I found it very tasty and filling. Pricing was decent considering the type of environment. Well worth it imo. Service: wait staff was super attentive, friendly and personable. Some of the best service I have personally received in any dining experience. Overall 5 star experience. Maybe some people have call had a less experience during crowded times. I came during a Tuesday afternoon around 3pm so it was pretty empty.

Atmosphere and service were wonderful! The food is very good, but definitely not worth the price. I would say the same for the drinks, overpriced!

Celebrating the start of the Christmas season with the Riverwinds manager Fotte. Always a fun evening listening to the beautiful voice of singer/entertainer Vic Rubino. Riverwinds atmosphere is beautiful, classy, and the staff and food are superb! Love it there. Check Riverwinds ' schedule for Friday and Saturday night entertainment...lots going on to enjoy. Went 3/9/23 for dinner. This place is fine dining cosplay. Got the cheese steak rolls as an appetizer. I got the porterhouse special which had a type of dark sauce and blue cheese crumbles on top of it, some asparagus and mashed potatoes. GF got the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat with some vegetables and mashed potatoes. The cheese steak rolls were pretty good but nothing to write home about. The vegan steak rolls at Monster Vegan in Philly were actually better. The shrimp were good but the vegetables and mashed potatoes all around were totally bland. They weren't even salted. I ordered the porterhouse medium rare and it was a complete rare. But what really annoyed me was that when the food came out, it was obviously sitting on the kitchen pass long enough for the food to lose all heat. The porterhouse entree was barely lukewarm, so I sent it back. It was brought back most likely nuked for 2 minutes, with a bunch more sauce dumped on top of it to make up for the drying of the meat. The restaurant wasn't even crowded so I don't know what kind of idiot was running the kitchen pass. For the prices the steak was really mediocre. If you want a steak don't go here. Go to a place like Steak 38 in Cherry Hill. Probably not coming back here unless it's for someone holding an event here. Other than the nice views, the food wasn't worth the price.

Ok...so brought our family of 10 here for a birthday. The service was excellent. The food quality and portions don't warrant the prices they charge. Grouper special was mediocre. Was bland looking/tasting and the serving was very small for $37. The chicken marsala was tasty and the mushrooms were fresh cut but for $35 I expect more than a very thin 3oz piece. Rack of Lamb($45)was good and plate looked great. Steak and potato were good. Swordfish was good. Nice serving. Crab cake was good. The clam chowder looked and taste like it came out of a progresso can and add to that they burnt the the bottom of the pot which makes the whole pot taste burnt. Soup 101...stir the bottom or turn down the heat. Gross. Deserts were from a box im guessing. Nothing special. Salads were good. Food was near diner quality for a really pricey menu. I wont go back. River view is nice and I dont want to make the place sound awful but their quality of food does not match the setting and prices. Oh and there were chairs stacked up and tables and other things randomly stacked around the place. Felt like I was in a storage area where we sat.

Unfortunately, I cannot give Riverwinds more than two stars at this time. We've been there several times and this last time was really bad food wise. . This as well as the last 2 times the food was terrible. The place is beautiful. The service is excellent and the people are so nice but they need to get a new kitchen, staff and chef. The food is bad diner food at top dollar pricing. We had calamari that was small little pieces over breaded overcooked and tasted terrible. I had a chicken dish that was tough and lacked a lot of flavor. My wife had a shrimp dish she could not eat. We are not people who complain about Restaurants I give restaurants and the people who work in them a lot of credit, but this was bad. but with all due respect and I never leave reviews like this. I go to a lot of restaurants because I entertain a lot of customers places like Italian Affair in New Jersey as well as several others are excellent as far as food. Every place has a little ups and downs, some of the new restaurants in Delaware are excellent, especially along the riverfront and I'm not promoting anyone so I'm not naming names, but Riverwinds has to change. I won't eat there ever again, but it is a beautiful place and the people who work there deserve a great review.

The food was very good. Mussels and clams was yummy! There was nine of us and no one was disappointed with their meal. The waiter was very knowledgeable and served our every needs. We weren't rushed, the view of the river and the city(Philly), airplanes flying by across the river, sun setting, boats zipping by. It was a wonderful evening!!! I would come back in a heartbeat.

This is a restaurant that proves advertising is important. There were several times when I had intended to dine at this restaurant however so many other restaurants came to mind before this one. So one day on my way to an Atlantic City casino, I see the big sign as a reminder. This large billboard boasted a beautifully picturesque waterfront. I'm in! When I arrived at the casino I made sure to make a reservation to dine on my way back home the next day. After giving up on my GPS navigation I found the restaurant off the beaten path. The grounds are beautiful the view is spectacular. Everything about this restaurant is large I mean things are really big. The entrance is large the foyer is large, the chandelier is large the piano is large, the host stand is large. You get the picture! LOL but everything is bright. pretty, extremely clean and open. And that picturesque waterfront scene? It can be viewed from almost each angle or room. NICE! I started with the mussels in a picante red sauce absolutely divine and more than one person could possibly eat. They were leftovers and shared later that day with a family member who also thought they were delicious. For my main course I had steak it was good however, I believe it was finished with a port wine sauce it wasn't wet but the next time I dined it was omitted. DELICIOUS! The service was very good and timely. Would I go again? Yes, already did and will again soon!

Celebrated a family friends 60th bday party and was absolutely in love with everything about this restaurant. The venue itself is beautiful, service was great, food was outstanding and drinks were delicious. The room had so many windows and offered a beautiful view of the Delaware river and Philly skyline. I noticed the entire restaurant itself offered great views wether you wanted to sit inside or out. I would highly recommend coming here for a special event or dinner to celebrate a special occasion. Portions were large, food was flavorful, every hostess was so attentive, and the drinks we're phenomenal. I look forward to coming back bc I definitely will be!

I wanted to love it. Pretty view. Nice staff. However, the food was not to my liking. My food actually came out burned. Over $40 for a pork chop and it was burnt. Very disappointed.

The food was delicious and very fresh. For starters my husband and I shared the Lump Crab Cocktail and the Shrimp Cocktail. We then had the Stuffed Flounder topped with Cajun Cream Sauce and the Chilean Sea Bass. For the prices they should serve a better bread basket. Great ambiance and service!!!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. In the past we had always had decent if not exceptional meals at Riverwinds Restaurant. Not so on our visit on Sep 12, 2023. It is now barely diner food at upscale prices. First of all, the place was nearly empty, so we should expect careful attention to our service and food preparation. The Service was fine. We had a nice window table with a lovely view of the Philadelphia skyline and jets landing at the airport. We had a trainee waitress who did a fine job, and was accommodating when needed. The food prep left something to be desired. Let's start with the salads. One of my companions ordered the house salad, which she reported was very good. My wife and I ordered a Caesar salad. I do not know why restaurants in general believe that Caesar salad must be swimming in dressing, but many do and Riverwinds is no exception. I could stomach the excess dressing and I ate my salad. My wife could not stomach the amount of dressing and sent hers back. The staff cheerfully provided a Caesar Salad with dressing on the side, which solved the problem. Please. You wouldn't serve a tossed salad with that much dressing, why do you insist on ruining a plate of good Romaine lettuce by applying two to three times as much dressing as appropriate? The lady who ordered the house salad was the winner of the night. She ordered a Grilled Angus Ribeye steak. She reported that the steak was prepared properly and was very tasty. My wife ordered Crabby Delight. The description reads: "Jumbo lump crab meat sautéed with spinach & sundried tomatoes over angel hair pasta in choice of a lemon wine & garlic sauce..." The other choice is immaterial, as my wife ordered it with the lemon, wine and garlic sauce at our server's recommendation. The "jumbo lump crab meat" was anything but "jumbo." The largest piece of crab was about the size of a pea. She also found the spinach and sun dried tomato to be well, hard to find. The predominant flavor was lemon. She didn't even think that the leftovers were worth bringing home. I ordered the New Zealand rack of lamb with dijon herb crust and port wine demi glaze. I ordered it medium rare, and asked for French fries instead of mashed potatoes. The lamb was medium well, the herb Dijon crust was in hiding and the French fries were cold and soggy. Come on people! A supposedly upscale restaurant who can't serve up hot and crisp French fries? This is a basic staple of the American diet. Fire the sous chef in charge of French fries, please!! The tab was about $160 before tip but after two glasses of wine and a beer. When Riverwinds opened, it could ask these prices and serve up food that was worth the money. My, how the mighty has fallen.

The service was ok, I'm thinking since it was Mother's Dat that our server was exhausted as it appeared she was dragging herself to make it through the day. I thought the main dining rooms looked nice and had a nice ambiance, however for making a reservation 5 weeks ago I was surprised that we were shuffled off to the outside bar area, which was closed to the outside (good , it was chilly)had tables added to the bar area in attempt to seat more people. That area would be nice for outside drinks in the summer, but not for dinner. The lighting and feeling was horrible. Really don't know what all the fuss is over the food, at best it was subpar. As far as bread on table goes, it was an onion bun. Food wasn't hot, or even warm. The NY strip ordered med rare was dry. One more thing, we originally had reservations for party of five but my grandson decided not to go, the waitress whispered something to the blonde hostess, who looked over at us and made a face. She needs to conceal her looks. Definitely won't be returning, we'll stick to our staple favorites in Collingswood. The dinner was not serving of it's $225 price tag

I have to say I was a little nervous when I first got here with a reservation considering it took a while for a waitress to come over. However, the night turned out to be a pretty pleasant one after all. I enjoyed my drink and starter salad. I got the crab cake as my entrée- it comes with lobster cream on top so I ordered it on the side. The dish was so yummy. I am very picky about crab cakes, but they were perfectly full of lump crab meat. There was very little filler in the cake. The view here is beautiful as well, and they had live music- I'll definitely be coming back again!

There's nothing worse than having your high expectations of fine dining dashed by a simply mediocre meal. Recently, my fiancé and I decided to give Riverwinds a try. The reviews looked pretty good, and some of our friends even recommended this as a dinner spot. So on a quiet Tuesday evening we ventured over to West Deptford hoping for the best. We arrived just before sunset. The place was pretty much empty save for a few patrons at the bar; there were only two or three parties in the dining room. Upon entering the building, the strong odor of Pinesol greeted us in the lobby. We were then greeted by the hostess who took us to our table by the window. By the way, a grand piano sits in the lobby, but I'm told it's only played on Fridays and Saturdays. After being seated, our server was quick to welcome us and take our order. She was, for the record, the highlight of this visit, and we made sure to tip her well. Friendly, professional, and on task. The disappointment soon began as our bread was brought to the table. In my opinion, if one is expecting to spend upwards of $100 or more on dinner, the bread should be freshly baked in the kitchen with homemade butter and olive oil on the side. Reality soon began to set in as a small loaf of not-so-freshly baked or warmed bread was placed on the table. Nothing special about it or the butter. Just average. The French onion soup came a little bit later, and to be honest, it wasn't all that bad. But again. Nothing special about it either. Just average. We also ordered salads with our meals; I had the Caesar side salad. So many opportunities to make something special out of this, but again... those opportunities were squandered. Just basic salad with a touch of flavor. We would have expected something like homemade croutons, scrumptious dressing, and even anchovies for the Caesar. Instead, it was just as appetizing as one of the salads from any of our local diners. Our mediocre dining experience continued as the main courses arrived. She had the crab cakes; I had the chicken marsala. Just one word to describe the whole thing - underwhelming. The portions were good, but just like the rest of our meal, it was nothing to write home over. Very little flavor and a truly basic presentation. Not at all worth the $100 that we would spend that evening. Dessert was a basic bowl of vanilla ice cream. Most likely Hershey's or whatever the Sysco food truck might have delivered earlier that day. My last complaint is directed toward the management staff. I have been to a great deal of "fine dining" restaurants. In almost every case, I was greeted warmly at my table by the manager on staff. In some cases, it was the owner themselves that made the rounds every night. There were at least two or three managers spotted talking with each other in the lobby. Not once did they come by our table, and they said not one word to any of us as we entered or departed for the evening. One might understand if they were busy with a rush of customers, but as I have written earlier in this piece, the place was just about empty. As with the food itself, I would have expected so, so much more. Instead, just an evening full of disappointments and wasted opportunities. If there is one other bright spot, it would be the sunset view of the Delaware River. The truth is, however, that you can enjoy the same view for no cost at all - just by driving down to the riverside park by Riverwinds. Will we be going back for dinner? Absolutely not. It is just not worth the cost. Save yourself the time and money by going to your neighborhood diner. Who knows? They might even have a good view of the water, too.

Overall average at best. Calamari appetizer was aggressively floured and served with only one small slice of lemon. Ordered the 11 Oz rib eye and it was dramatically underseasoned. Asparagus and potatoes were ok at best. Would not recommend this dish. Wife ordered lobster ravioli. Was good. Shrimp was good and fresh. Overall ambiance was very cool, super loud. Super crowded. Would be in no rush to return for dinner or event. Perhaps a happy hour would be worth my time.

Only one thing to say...."EAT THERE!!"...Its GREAT place to dine and celebrate any occasion.

I attended a birthday dinner at Riverwinds restaurant for my Aunt's birthday. I was my first time visiting the restaurant but I was told by a few of my relatives that they visit the restaurant often and that the food was good. A few of our dishes weren't the cleanest but the chicken Marsala was good and the view of the waterfront was amazing.
