Mitsou Endo’s new Toridokoro Raku focuses on all things chicken cooked on a robata grill | Eater Vegas

"I note the space previously became Tatsujin X, a teppanyaki grill with an omakase-style menu that opened last March and closed in February, before Endo took over the space and converted it into Toridokoro Raku." - Susan Stapleton

Google
Best Ramen (TanTan is my personal fave) and Fried Rice hands down and Spicy tuna. Service is always good. Smaller space but the food is always great, very consistent which is what I love the most about this place! Not to mention it’s very affordable.

Google
Really enjoyed my first visit! It's quite difficult to locate an authentic Japanese-owned ramen shop in Omaha. The service was friendly, the price was reasonable, and, most importantly, the food was exceptional. I plan to return with my family in the future.

Carrie C.

Google
Food was amazing. Everything came out hot fresh and quick service was friendly and helpful With good recommendations as I’ve never been here. Highly recommend

Google
Delicious food, great portions, and didn’t break the bank. Nice to find that nowadays. Had 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and spent under $40 (tip not included). Water glasses were constantly refilled, which was really nice! We will definitely be back

😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I don't want any other ramen shop. This is the PLACE to be! Honestly, don't like sushi, can't even stand the smell, yet I tried a piece of my husband's shrimp roll and I wanted to beat him up and take it for myself. Idk what kind of magic happens in that kitchen, but please don't ever lose it. The pork bowl, ramen, gyoza, and sushi are so dang good. I will always recommend this place whenever someone asks. The atmosphere is also 💯. Everyone is so chill, love the anime soundtracks always playing in the background. I hope this place sticks around for years to come ❤️

Google
Awesome, cozy ramen spot that blows away much pricier local competition. Great attention to detail and service. You can feel the pride of ownership. Simple food done right. Extremely fair prices, great ingredients, beautiful presentation and plating. The staff was very quick and attentive.

Google
It's our first time to try this restaurant. We had Shumai and gyoza for the appetizers, which were really good and filling. It was a little big serving for an appetizers, so I was kind of half full when I had the ramen. I ordered thr shoyu ramen with additional nori anf boiled egg and my husband had the spicy pork belly bowl. The broth was ok, average, I would say. The serving size is just about right. The price is less than I expected. The overall service was good. Store is clean. I would still recommend it.

Google
Amazing service, Even better food. The best bowl of ramen i've ever had in Omaha. Prices are good and the menu is easy to order from. Will be back!

Yelp
I recently visited Rizin with a friend for a casual dinner for the first time and I was pretty impressed. The food is very good and our wait staff was friendly. There is a great value for your money here for what you are getting. It was t very busy at the time we went on a weeknight so we were seated and served quickly. The location is great and there is plenty of parking in the village. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
If you don't want to do to-go orders, just say so. Food to go - "15-20 minutes". Took 39. Seriously, 39 minutes?!? (see pic). Pic of other food was sitting for over10. "Which item is taking so long?" "Oh, there was a problem in back. Ok decor and staff. Nine four-tops, so the place can fill quickly. Surprised by the number of people eating here.

Yelp
Quick, easy and affordable. Excellent service and quick food. I love the pricing, very reasonable!! Casual, few tables full this time . Perfect timing!

Yelp
Had rizin again for lunch today. As always so good. The Tan Tan ramen with spicy sesame miso broth and ground pork is delicious! Love adding shredded leeks to it. Not as fancy as others in town just simply better!

Yelp
Rizin Ramen is pretty close to our house so we have been there many times, but I just thought to review them now. Let me tell you, if you are a fan of traditional ramen - this is your spot! The interior is bright and clean with a black, white, grey, and red color palette. When you walk in there is a cute little waiting area with a booth and their logo (and we have had to wait a few times we've went so I appreciate that). There are several tables in the dining area, and they're ALWAYS full when we have gone and that's definitely how you know it's good (along with the waiting area they need to have LOL) The service is fabulous, with our server (on our last visit) checking on each table so many times - and considering they were so busy with patrons - she was killing it, keeping up with everyone! My husband and I will usually each get a ramen bowl and one or two sushi rolls to share. Our favorite sushi options are the Vegas Roll and the California Crab Roll. They are both crab with the California Roll being more refreshing and light and the Vegas Roll being deep fried and having cream cheese in there with the crab. Both are amazing! For ramen, I usually like the Miso Bowl, that has chicken and pork broth. It comes with a large piece of pork inside that literally melts in your mouth. The broth is super tasty and smooth with the mixture of the two flavors (chicken and pork) kind of cutting each other and making their own little creamy chicken-noodle-soup style taste. My hubs will usually get the Tonkatsu, which is in a solely pork broth, and also has the mouthwatering pork pieces, but he orders extra of the pork and also adds corn (which is a good idea, I might do that next time). If you're in the mood for authentic ramen that won't break the bank, definitely give Rizin a try!

Yelp
Love coming to this place. A very simple menu and atmospheres the staff is always very kind and the wait isn't usually too long. The best ramen in town as the place is owned by a Japanese team. If you haven't checked our Rizin you've got to put it on your list of places to eat! Food is great and the price is right.

Yelp
Delicious food. Best Ramen in Omaha, with the best price too! Sushi is also good, as well as the Gyoza!

Yelp
Yum! This is my third ramen spot I have tried in Omaha this week, and it is my favorite so far! Coming from the west coast, I was really interested to see what the ramen here is like. Plenty of parking, quick service, good prices. I got the tonkotsu ramen ($11.45) and added a soft boiled egg ($1.50). Definitely add the egg! I am a big broth person, and the other spots I tried here in Omaha didn't really satisfy my ramen broth cravings. The tonkotsu broth here was good! Seems like a small local hole in the wall type of location. Would recommend :)

Yelp
Very nice and friendly staff. Clean and neatly decorated restaurant. I like when you can see the kitchen... it was very clean and well organized. I ordered the Tan Tan, which is the spicy miso base with chicken & pork broth. I thought it was perfect and everything complimented the next to make a perfect dish. This is the perfect dish to eat on a cold Omaha day. I also ordered the Kara-Age, which is fried chicken and I thought it was cooked very nice, seasoned perfect and tasted great. Prices were reasonable and I thought the prices for add-in were fair. Warning, the only protein they serve with ramen is pork. But this was fine for me. I look forward to returning and trying other items on their menu.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped in on a recent Saturday night and loved the experience! One order of ramen easily feeds 2 but we also ordered some potstickers and a roll. Everything was delicious, price was exceptional ($28 total) and service was amazing

Yelp
Might be a new favorite ramen spot in town! I just happened to pass the store one day on my way elsewhere and decided I should try it one of these days. It's located at a strip mall in Rockbrook next to a Scooter's there's plenty of nearby parking. The inside isn't too big but there's enough seating for the amount of traffic it seems to get. Not super trendy but has standard ramen shop decor. This seems to be run by a couple and the wife is the server. She's pretty friendly and prompt. The food here is pretty reasonably priced compared to other ramen places. I ordered Chicken Karaage and Tonkotsu Ramen. Honestly, the karaage wasn't what I was used to. Most places I've been to serve it like popcorn chicken (like here and SoCal) and that's usually what I see on the internet too. This Karaage was certainly fried chicken but it was interesting that they used like cuts of chicken to fry them. Still tasty! One of the main reasons I'm rating this place so high is that this is like the only place in town I've tried with actual pork chashu and that does it well. It's super tender here, while some other places fry it to the point of being dry or it's not legit chashu and they just throw in a slice of ham. It only comes with one slice, so in the future I would add a slice. Would recommend this place for sure!

Yelp
I just wanted to update this by saying that, after having traveled to Japan, and also gone down the West Coast eating Ramen in different places, this place is possibly the closest you can get to a small town authentic Japanese Ramen place in terms of flavor. That being said of course there's many varieties and flavor profiles in Japan but coming here takes me back to rural Japan any day.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my fiancés top 3 Omaha restaurants. The service is always stellar. The imported drinks 10/10. Personally love the ramen, he loves the pork bowl. Always leave full and happy while barely spending any money. A must try:)
google avatar

Randy C.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite ramen place! This a low key place but don't let that fool you. The ramen is amazing, the appetizers are packed with flavor and the service is outstanding. We order two ramen orders with some appetizers and the food came out quick and in a timely manner. The service was excellent and they answer any questions we had. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Kimberle B.

Yelp
The appetizers were delicious and the ramen were delicious! I got tonkotsu ramen, very very tasty and the amount you get is great for the price. We go extra noodles and she asked if we would like to share we said not but please listen to her! There are enough noodles already in the ramen! Service was amazing! And food came out fast. I will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Rami O.

Yelp
The service is always great and the ramen even better! Definitely will continue to always go back.
google avatar

JoJo N.

Yelp
A great place to go if you want authentic ramen at a reasonable price. It is a small space that seems to be short-staffed, so please keep that in mind and be patient. I got the tonkotsu ramen with a few added items. I definitely want to try their spicy ramen next time!

Augusto H.

Yelp
Tonkotsu ramen, and Dumplings were phenomenal! 8.5/10. Great ambient and nice customer service.

lexi k.

Yelp
Had their Shoyu ramen and Takoyaki and it's so good. Both is a 10/10. I also appreciate them putting the sauces for the Takoyaki separate so it doesn't get soggy during the drive home. Lowkey, this is a hidden gem

Yelp
Favorite ramen in town!! We tried Rizin after our previous favorite shop disappointed us 3 visits in a row (bland broth). Definitely happy we gave Rizin a go.. it'll be our new go to place! Seems like a husband/wife duo running the place- she runs front of house and is incredibly sweet. We sat at the bar and got to watch the chef prepare all the ramen bowls- he's a machine! Too fun to watch. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the bowls were.. all the pictures online look deceivingly small. Checkout my pictures to see how tall they are! The paitan shoyu broth was incredibly rich, savory, and creamy. Best broth I've had and would even be good with added chili oil. The noodles had a great chew, and the bamboo shoots were nice and tender. The interior setup isn't super unique, so if you're big on ambiance this isn't the place for you. But if you love amazing food with a chill, small environment, this is it! 10/10 recommended

Yelp
This might be my favorite ramen in Omaha. The space is small, but cozy. The hostess greeted us immediately and is super friendly! We were able to order quickly and got our food just as quickly. We ordered the spicy ramen, miso ramen, and shio ramen, with additional soft boiled eggs and spicy chili oil. Everything we got was delicious!
google avatar

Betsy S.

Yelp
We LOVE Rizin! Always delicious and fresh! We love the Shoyu ramen and get it with an egg and extra sprouts. This is our regular go to for delicious comfort food!
google avatar

Yelp
This is by far the BEST ramen in all of Nebraska. I had the tonkotsu ramen, which was surprisingly light and refreshing compared to versions I've had at other restaurants that give me a food coma. The noodles were cooked perfectly; they were chewy and very effectively carried the delicious broth to my mouth. I just wish there were more toppings included like an egg and seaweed, but you can add them to your order for a slight cost. The takoyaki was also excellent. It was crispy on the outside yet soft and pillowy on the inside. They were even generous enough to put two pieces of octopus inside, which I appreciated. The service was also very good; the waitress was attentive and food came out quickly. The restaurant was clean and cute, but was not very special otherwise. The owners appear to be a Japanese couple, and their quality cooking reflects the pride they have for their heritage. Considering everything in addition to their reasonable prices, you cannot get a better bowl of ramen anywhere else. If you are craving ramen, you need to come here NOW! I will definitely be back to try all the other items on their menu.
google avatar

Patty D.

Yelp
So good! I almost dot. Want to review it because I don't want it to get too busy! Dining area is small but they are pretty quick and you don't have to wait long. I got the Miso Ramen and hubs got the pork belly bowl. Absolutely fabulous!!!
google avatar

Quyen P.

Yelp
This ramen place is so much better than Jinya and Ika. The broth is less salty and more like authentic
google avatar

Andra B.

Yelp
This spot is amazing. Me and my bf randomly stopped in. We walked into friendly service and One Piece playing on the TV so we knew we had to stay. They have Ramen and sushi and Japanese beer and etc.. we tried a lil of everything. All delicious. I love there sushi and the atmosphere they have. It not that big on the Inside but I think that actually makes it better. Just a cool spot to eat some great food and watch anime if that's your thing. Or if not, try it, you may find out it is. Or just get take out lol.
google avatar

Cam V.

Yelp
Delicious Ramen here at fairly affordable prices compared to the rest. When I looked at their menu from a year ago before coming the other day, I was surprised that they hadn't changed prices. Many of their bowls were under $10 at their base offerings which is about $3-$4 less than Jinya and Yoshi Ya. On a Friday afternoon, the traffic slowly shuffled in until this quaint establishment was packed. A single woman took care of all the tables while I believe one man did all the cooking for the whole restaurant. They definitely hustled and still served everyone in a reasonable time given the circumstance. Onto the food...this was one of the better Ramens I've had but I felt it was maybe a smaller quantity than at other places. The sliced pork for sure was less than I've had at most and it tasted ok at best (unfortunately really fatty). So I ordered my 2 year old the fried rice and that was one of the best fried rices I've had and again, It was a bargain at under $5. While I enjoyed the ramen, I definitely prefer Jinya or Yoshi Ya...probably Jinya. But I'll be back for the fried rice!
google avatar

Caroline K.

Yelp
We decided to get ramen because it was a rainy day outside and thought a warm bowl of ramen might be good. Overall, the ramen was yummy but boy was it SO salty. I left the restaurant feeling so yucky because of how much salt i felt like I ate. The spice level was perfect though and the flavors were great---just waaayyy too salty for my taste.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
NOTE: the food itself was probably 4stars! I am more so taking into account the entire experience, food, pricing, service, and environment. This place is pretty small (maybe 8 -4 top tables) so conversation from everyone else's tables could be heard from ours. We were sat quickly and ordered fairly quickly as well but the Friday that we went, there was one server and one cook on staff so it took a decent amount of time for our food to come out. A party of 8 came in before us so we were in line for meals after them. The menu had I believe 8 different broth/flavor options for their Ramen some including soy sauce, chicken/salt(fish sauce), soy/miso, and more. Fried rice options, additional toppings for your ramen, and a small sushi menu were among other things that they offer. Each additional topping was at least $1. Sushi was about 4-6$ a roll, the ramen was $10 per bowl, and the fried rice was under $10. Our server was sweet, and the food tasted better than I expected. I think just with the wait for our food and the funky atmosphere from the crammed dining space is why I chose 3 stars but like I said, the taste and quality of the food itself was 4 stars so if that's all you care about in a restaurant, then ignore my commentary.
google avatar

Victoria V.

Yelp
Simply quiet, small warm restaurant and very active server. They serve Japanese ramen and their new items are on the menu. If you are looking for an authentic Japanese vibe, look no further. Their menu contains ramen and small amount of sushi. I love how their toping is very accurate. I love their ramens. But I do think they could do a bit better on a takoyaki.

Guillermo E.

Yelp
Super fire ramen. I went here with my friend from Japan and he said it even holds up to his standards. Great staff and great food. A must try in Omaha.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food here. I had three colleagues visiting from Japan and coming here was a hit. Very authentic, and their spice level was on point.

Jamie L H.

Yelp
Great ramen and rice bowls. Small restaurant with freshly made items. We enjoyed it all
google avatar

Lesley M.

Yelp
My friend told us about this restaurant, and I had to try this. We've been really missing Okinawa the past few weeks so this made us hopeful. The owners were so friendly and were excited to learn we had been to Japan. We talked about restaurants we miss and how much this restaurant reminded us of Oki. My shoyu ramen was delicious and tasted just like soy ramen I used to get. The gyoza made my mouth water. I can't wait to go back and order more! Our boys will be super excited to come here as well.
google avatar

Kitty B.

Yelp
We happened across this ramen spot on a rainy day and couldn't have been more thrilled. The hostess was very friendly and walked us through how they do ordering. We started with a sushi roll and each has ramen. For lunch everything was moderately priced and delicious!
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Solid place and good addition to the Omaha ramen scene. Staff was very friendly and knowledgable and the ramen was a good portion given the price. We also tried the "fried rice", and I'd pass on that in the future - ordinary flavor. Next time I would try some of the other apps in addition to the ramen
google avatar

Carrie M.

Yelp
We stopped for lunch based on previous reviews and so happy we did! Delicious Great food and service! Traveling from out of town. On our next visit through we will be back!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
This is a fantastic ramen shop that's sort of hidden away, but don't be deceived, it's the best ramen I've had thus far in Omaha! The ramen was flavorful, the noodles were delicious, and the price was just right! I'll definitely be coming back
google avatar

Derek M.

Yelp
I was craving authentic tasting Japanese ramen. This place hit the spot! The gyoza and spicy ramen was delicious! The two employees (I think the owners) working welcomed us with Japanese, and made us feel like we were back in Okinawa. I can't wait to go back soon with my boys.
google avatar

Grace H.

Yelp
This is our 3rd time returning. It's becoming our easy, comfort food place - where we feel at home. Food is always as expected. We get the Tonkatsu and Shoyu ramens with added corn and eggs. We tried Gyoza and Taku-yaki, they were ok, good to try once but not all the time. Recommend trying Calpico original/lychee/mango drinks.

Lanette G.

Yelp
The Food was fabulous. The restaurant is apparently handled by a couple. He is working in the kitchen and you can see that. She is working at the tables. My son loves all things Japanese. He had eaten here before and gave us awesome suggestions. WE had 3 appetizers and 3 different entrees. What a great meal and evening.
google avatar

Tanner S.

Yelp
Small gem place for Ramen if you want good food for reasonable prices and no gimmicky frills. There was only one server but service was still great and didn't have to wait too long for food. Ramen was super yummy and decently big(the bowls make it look smaller than it is). The Ton Ton had a good spice level for medium spice lovers, maybe add the chili oil if you want the extra kick.

Trent L.

Yelp
Had a horrible experience today at Rizin, usually I have a good experience there. Got to the door and was told they had a table but were running 20 minutes behind. After 1 hour of waiting, still no food. Owner came by and told us our food was next, multiple times, but it wasn't. Finally walked out and saw that our food In fact was Not anywhere near being ready by looking in the kitchen. If we weren't constantly lied to every ten minutes the experience wouldn't have been quite so bad. Not sure I will be back.

Mitsushi M.

Yelp
As a Japanese person, I recommend this place first in Omaha if you are craving for a good old school ramen bowl! Their bowl of soup always comes out hot, I mean temperature hot unlike other restaurants around the metro somehow cannot manage to do so, I mean so far by the time of this post. Only one thing that bothered me to give 5 star though, they close the restaurant on random day.
google avatar

Joey T.

Yelp
This hole in the wall/Scooters neighbor is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Omaha. It is not easy to spot right off Center and the 680 North, but worth the visit for the reasonably priced ramen, generous portions, and excellent Japanese food. I always order the pork belly bowl with green onions, chicken karage, and miso ramen. Each are delicious and I recommend getting each for the consistency and quality. Sushi can be good but I don't think sushi is the highlight of the menu, most of the time I skip for the ramen.
google avatar

H A.

Yelp
Beware. If you eat here you may acquire an addiction for Ramen, and all that's served here. It's that good. I get takeout at least once a week. I could live on this alone. Well...maybe not, but it might be worth trying. Delicious.
google avatar

Angela C.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Everything we tried was very good. When we ordered food the waitress was nice to say it is a lot for 2 ppl but my step daughter and I wanted to try different items. We did have left overs. We will be back!

Makinzie B.

Yelp
Great food, great price, and amazing service. Tan tan ramen is the perfect spicy ramen, and their sushi is always super fresh and delicious.

Yelp
A simple restaurant in Rockbrook that has me as a fan. I've been there twice - once with my wife, and once, recently, to pick up soup and some sushi to pick up my spirits. I thought it would be the delicious ramen and spicy sushi that would do it. I thought that would be the biggest pick up. Nope. The chef was. The CHEF! That delightfully cheerful, upbeat man, who doubtless prepped the meal. Who answered my call to take my order. He provided me this tasty treat and gave more. He cheered me while I gave money for my take home meal. Next time I tip him just for that. Before I sit down, or order take out. Tip him because that smile and bright spirit followed me home. It's a simple place, nicely decorated and comfortable. Food's great. That cheer, though. That was everything. In my previous review, I'd noted the tastiness and environs, the excellent noodles. The chef. I'll come back just to see if that wonderful feeling is still there.
