One of the best spots with phenomenal drinks AND amazing food. The chef is back! We got the bulgogi nachos and jalapeño garlic wings. Chefs kiss yall. The Blackberry Currant bourbon drink will be one of the best drinks you have ever had. Add in the amazing service with great vibes all around and you have one of the best spots in SF! Was introduced to this spot by my buddy and I was instantly impressed by the very comfortable vibes and incredibly well thought out drinks. As part of the night, we did eventually leave but after a drink or two at that spot, I came back because Rm 212 just felt better to chill at and drink at. Looking forward to another visit soon

One of the best speakeasy craftsman bar I have ever been to. Its not about gimmicks and fluff, its about pure talent and intentionality. The entire team is welcoming, personal and can make almost any drink you want. The menu (food and drink) is incredible, truly some of the best food Ive ever had in a restaurant. Come alone and make new friends or come with friends and blend the group! All are welcome in this sultry easy going bar.

Hidden gem in the heart of fidi! The cocktails are great- creative, diverse menu with most liquors covered. Good especially if you have a sweet tooth, but also have solid shots. Far East Zombie was STRONG, which is why there’s a recommended 2 per guest limit lol. We also ordered fries and wings- warm, fresh, well spiced. We came with a large 10 ppl party and they quickly accommodated. Love the chill vibes and dedication to mixology.

Originally came here for the speed dating event which was exceptional. Came back for cocktails and excellent service. This place is exceedingly friendly, the cocktails are well balanced yet dynamic. 2nd visit was on a Karoke night and I had a blast. Found myself singing with this 60+ year old drummer named Doug. Dude knew every song and it was a riot. Gene, one of the owners treated me to a shot of baijiu. He's a dedicated professional and works diligently to make everyone happy. The bartenders Kat, Patrick, Youngji, and Max make insanely well composed drinks. Never too sweet, or citric, always have something extra that breaks from the mundane recipe they may be riffing off of. I can safely say they're both honoring the "classics", but also evolving them. Notch the chef is always on point. His food easily matches the high end cocktails served. His boudin balls are fire, and the "executive" is some of the best late night food I've had. Ricky is hilarious, a classy professional, and elevates the environment deeply. He also has some of the best recommendations for food in Chinatown. Patrick's Jungle Bird is ahead of it's time and should be studied. Bartenders should make pilgrimages to try it and the Eeyore's Requiem. Kat is the queen of agave. She's also very motherly for a bartender and ensures that everyone's being kind to her, each other, and that the smiles continue throughout the night. Her drinks are incredible, complex, and always go down quickly. Youngji's a wildcard. She made me the best Aviation i've had so far as a dealers choice. She also bravery delves into extremely complicated drink recipes with precision. I'm often quite surprised how she takes delicate ingredient's and doesn't crush them other overpowering flavors. I've only had Max's drinks once but they were beyond what I expected from a seasoned SF vet. Many OG craft folks have let their torch extinguish and have stopped trying at the bars of high reputation. Max seems like the guy who just keeps grinding despite his industry peers falling off in total effort. He also has great bar recommendations that I look forward to exploring. Room 212 quickly became my most frequented bar in SF. It epitomizes what hospitality should be and naturally is to them, unpretentious, dedicated, non judgmental, guiding those less seniored to make great food and drink decisions, a melting pot of folks of all political leanings, races, but with unifying principles binding them all. The average 212 customers are some of the hardest working people in the area. That also have enough glow and charisma to desire a very insightful conversation. Truly a heart and hub of the city. One that all the owners, staff, and community members that enjoy it can be proud of.

This is the place you want. Max capacity of maybe 15, leading to an atmosphere of an intimate speakeasy. Patrick and Lydia were our bartenders and they made the entire experience the best we've ever had. For anyone interested in mixology, or the art behind cocktail making, Patrick is knowledgeable and passionate in that area and made for a wonderful conversation. This is not a bar to get drunk and do shots of fireball. Which is absolutely perfect for us.

Loved this place. Came here for friend's engagement happy hour. Ordered beef bulgogi nachos, chicken wings, & corn fritters with sake shots. Foods are so flavorful especially spicy wings. My friends loved the sake shots. Great customer services. The menu for dinner is only small tapas. This place is more like drinking bar at night. If you are looking for dinner, this is not for you. But have a drink & small eat after work, this is the place. Reservation highly recommended especially for large group of 5 or above because this place is small & pack with people starting at 7:00 pm.

Can't stop my craving from coming here for their wings. Another day after work with coworkers which 212 definitely don't disappoint. Cool workers and owners. Fun place to relax and relieve stress. The owner Patrick is really cool and this is a small but cozy gastropub! They've reduced the size of their menu to just the favorites, and we ordered the smashburger tacos, bulgogi nachos, lychee soju, and jalapeno fried chicken. The nachos were my favorite! This was the perfect amount of food for 3 people.

Best fried chicken ever! My fiancé and I were visiting San Francisco and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat, so happy we found this place. So welcoming and the chicken and nachos, so amazing! I wish I could pack this place up and take it with me!

Loved the food, drinks, and service here. Patrick was a generous, wonderful, and funny host. It made the biggest difference in our experience here. The soju, wings, and bulgogi nachos are to die for. New menu, new great food selection. Tried the salt and pepper fired chicken, fried to a light golden color. Smells and looks delish, don't forget to request the in house home made dill sauce dip and a pitcher of beer to wash it all down your gullet. You can thank me after, cheers

Great spot for a quick bite and drinks. I asked for the salt and pepper wings along with the honey shrimp. Both were delicious. They also have a great selection of soju and sake. Service was great as well and they had a couple tvs playing baseball. I'll definitely be back!

Can't wait to come back! The service and food here are awesome. There was only one guy working the front of house the entire time we were there, and he did a great job. Our glasses were never empty, and he checked up on us multiple times throughout our time there. Ordered a pitcher of cider for happy hour as well as the cheeseburger wontons and Bulgogi nachos. Both were very delicious and well-made.

One word...WOW! I do know the owners but this review has nothing to do with that. This is my honest opinion of the brunch food I had. I was very impressed with the brunch food. Had French toast, curry pot pie, sausage scramble, fish tacos. Each dish's presentation, quality, flavor was on point! Service was phenomenal as Patrick was EXTREMELY attentive, which you only find the attentiveness at super high end restaurants. He was constantly checking in and constantly filling up our waters. Oh, also bottomless mimosas baby! You gotta try this hidden gem! I grabbed the photos of the dishes I had from their site because I forgot to take pics.

Definitely a hidden gem! We were in town this week and had never been to SF. Found this hidden gem off a foodie review on IG. Initially, we were torn about it due to the way the outside looks. It's right at the edge of Chinatown. We went in and who I think was the owner, Patrick, greeted us. Really cool guy. We started with a few cocktails, which were very good. We then tried a few of the tapas, which included the foie gras potstickers, pork belly baos and the honey aioli shrimp and then I washed it down with a Sapporo beer. Everything was awesome! Highly recommend this little spot if you're in the SF area!

Fish tacos, wings, and nachos. All REALLY good. I haven't had a bad thing there. Cocktails and drinks are also very good there. How are things good? You can just tell they pay attention and do things right. You can feel the quality in ingredients and execution, and the chef's ideas and creations are very on point. Awesome spot! Friendly owners and service too.

Came here for HH on a Wednesday after work and had a great experience. Co owner Patrick was great. Food, drinks and service. Definitely will be back.

Ambience: 4/5, feels like a k-town lounge Food: 3.5/5 for the price for restaurant week. The scallop shumai tasted home made, and was delicious. The potstickers filling was dry, and dough too stiff (not the best type of chewiness). The pork belly is on the dry side. The mashed potato and beef stew was 5/5 excellent. For the mango Panna cotta, it doesn't have the stiffness of a good panna cotta, and is on the sweet side. But I saw the waitress bring a broken one to the table next to me, which I thought was unacceptable. Drinks: I can't say because I don't drink. Service: 4.5/5. The waitress appeared new, didn't know what exchanges were acceptable , but the manager was excellent in providing the service.

10 Nov 2019 Affordable Asian fusion fare in a casual setting that can also accommodate groups. Small menu is mostly drinks and confusing to decipher which ones are soju vs actual alcohol. Alcoholic drinks are cheap wells with no clear option to upgrade. Heavy use of TVs as menus detracts from the ambiance and distracts the eye; I fail to see the benefit over paper. I think this place wants to be a sports bar with good munchies and a full bar setup but ends up being a restaurant confused about its purpose. All that said, the food was really tasty, and I hope the talented chef continues to build on his creative menu. By the numbers: Food: 4/5 Drinks: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value: 5/5 Chicken wings - Very good. Nice panko crust fried to perfection came out piping hot and stayed that way. Mango habanero dipping sauce ($2) was not too spicy and a surprise add-on charge. Who orders wings without sauce?! Why is it extra?? Nachos with bulgogi - Excellent. I was initially skeptical, but this stole the show. Fried wonton chips with a cheesy sriracha sauce hits the spot. Butterfish tataki - Excellent. This was a menu special. Yuzu vodka shot - Good. Decent value. Wish I could have paid to upgrade to a better quality vodka.

This was our last dining experience of our trip and I am so glad I ventured out and happened to pop in. Nachos we're light and airy flavorful. The star of the show was definitely the chicken curry pot pie. The flakiest crust above the most spicy ad flavorful curry flavors I ever had. The staff (Patrick and Ricky) saw me enjoying my meal and wanted to check in. I could not help myself but to tell them how impressed I was with my meal and of course their hospitality. This is a meal I will be dreaming of for time to come till I return. 10/10 recommend!!

What??!! Mala( numbing spicy mac n' cheese? Lamb hot pocket with dill yogurt dipping sauce to die for? Curry chicken pot pie? Omg...and the slighly sour brut champagne.? Hella good! A definite must try.

I'm a personal fan of asian fusion and seeing the latest restaurant spinoff of classic foods but I couldn't tell what cultures rm212 was trying to meld together. We started off by ordering off their happy menu for drinks and got what the waitress described as a soju drink that tasted like a lemon drop ($6). We asked for the drink to be served neat and it came on the rocks instead. The drink was very diluted and didn't taste like much besides leaving the burning taste of soju as it went down. We got the korean fried chicken, xo string beans, & honey aioli shrimp. Nothing really stood out to me and the food was mediocre at best..on top of that, this is a tapas restaurant so the servings are small and around $12 a plate. The shrimp tasted like normal candied shrimp such as the ones from panda express; they were good but there was no hint of asian fusion and way too expensive for what it was. I was most excited about the kfc as it was the prettiest dish but that was probably my least favorite. The kfc had a weird seaweed aftertaste, was a bit too spicy, and didn't really have the sweetness that I like about the dish. The xo string beans were actually better than expected! They were juicy albeit a little spicy and limp. The restaurant's super tiny and only has maybe 5 tables and is dimly lit with neon fixtures which does make for a cool ambiance but I won't be coming back again. For the price of the dishes I would have expected something of better quality.

Try the jalapeño fried chicken. Best Fried chicken ever! Service was great and the drinks were good as well.

Another Yelp Elite find - ATTENTION! This place is awesome. Came here for lunch after scouting through Yelp. I was attracted to the interesting tapas in the reviews. Funky cool interior, service was fricken awesome (thanks for the shots Patrick!) The Brussel Sprouts were so damn good, pork belly sliders with Hoisin was yummy, Butterfly Fish was mouth melting good, and the shrimp was like candy. I did order the fritters not realizing what they were, more of a dessert item but good. I love it when an owner kicks ass and takes pride in their dishes that they create, Patrick has done this. You will not get five stars from me unless you are thinking out of the bento box. Bravo!

If it wasn't for the YELP recommendations and reviews, I wouldn't have gone inside this little restaurant that from outside it seems to be a small bar tucked away on a side street in SF Chinatown. The tapas style Asian fusion dinner we tried here was amazing, what an experience?!! Why is t there a line outside this little restaurant which has about 10 tables?!! Great news was, we didn't have to wait to get seated for a party of five We ordered the Korean Fried Chicken, Crab Sliders, Corn Fritters, strong beans, bugogi nachos and butterfish tataki. It was plenty of food for 5 people. Every dish was a pleasant surprise with a nice mix of Asian touch/twist to an original dish. Loved the crispy wontons inside the nacho dish. Butterfish was smooth and soft, corn fritters were nice and crispy and not oily. Crab sliders was awesome. Not sure if I had a favorite dish here. Everything was great!!!! By the time we were leaving the place was packed and seemed the cocktails are a hit as every table was ordering a lot of the mixed cocktails (we don't drink and can't comment on that but must be good that everyone was ordering various cocktails). Seems they opened two years ago and the chef changes the menu each quarter, we will be back in January for tasting the new menu items.

I came here with a big group a few weeks ago and I am pretty sure we ordered everything on the menu. Bulgogi Nachos? Check. Butterfish Sashimi? Yup. Spicy Fritters? We got two. Oh, and those pumpkin samosas... I wasn't kidding; we truly did get everything else they had. Those were the few that stuck out to me. The nachos were fantastic and the sashimi was unlike anything I've had before. Everything came out dish by dish and we shared it all family style. I think somewhere around Lamb Dumplings we started to wonder if our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. The fritter were the perfect way to end the parade of food. They tasted like a really sweet funnel cake almost. Definitely more a dessert than a side dish. And maybe you noticed the check in offer? A 2 minute heart to heart with the owner. They aren't kidding. We chatted about the history of the restaurant and the recipes, ourselves and just a lot more. It was very weird and fun and so different than anything else you'd find. I feel like I am saying this a lot but, jeez, it was just so San Francisco. The space is very trendy and fun but has a vibe club to it. I would recommend for a big group dinner with friends over a date or a family dinner.

I don't know if I've ever felt more welcomed into someone's restaurant than I did here. The owner greeted us, seated us, took our orders, accommodated us, and made us feel entirely welcome into his "home." The space is small, but perfect for lunch with a small group of friends (annnnnnd they take reservations!). They were unbelievably kind to us when we admitted that half our party had serious dietary restrictions. If the menu seems a bit concerning, I wouldn't worry - they went above and beyond in making sure that everyone in our party was fed and fed well. Of the things I ate, my two favorite things were: 1. KFCauliflower (with maple gochujang glaze) - I guess I missed the punny name, but while eating these I was so impressed with their perfect fried coated exterior and soft "meaty" interior. Nice sweet, spicy, and tangy sauce too! 2. Kim Chi Tots (with honey avocado aioli) - It's like a variation of poutine; so, if you like tots, kim chi, and a creamy sauce... you will not go wrong with these. We also tried the Elote Corn Fritter (they were more like a gooey donut hole) and Sweet Potato Samosas (such a flaky, mouthwatering pastry!; however, the flavors of the dipping sauce [truffle and cilantro], didn't really come through the way I was hoping). Good, but not as much of a standout as the tots and cauliflower! It's important to note that the portions aren't enormous (as a solo diner who LOVES to eat but HATES to feel weighed down midday from a big meal, I'd say that two things off the menu would be plenty). One suggestion, RM 212? Offer a vegetarian friendly bao!!! I have great faith you'd make an amazing one. P.S. The owner is serious about the two minute heart-to-heart (it's Check In Offer), so have a chitchat and unburden!

Randomly dropped in this spot on a family trip to SF. The Service was top notch and food was on point. We tried the Jalapeño Fried chicken, Garlic Confit Fries, Lamb Hot pockets and Smash Burger Tacos. All were amazing dishes on there own, but combining them with a welcoming atmosphere and a chill, laid back vibe, it made the experience to remember. I will be back!!!

What an awesome restaurant. The restaurant serves the food tapas style, which is great for small and large parties. I happened to go with a party of 5, and below is a series of what we ordered: 1. Edamame - They took a really interesting approach to this, as it wasn't your ordinary edamame. They had cooked it with fish sauce and garlic, which had a unique flair to it. 2. Ceviche - Served in a martini glass. The presentation was nice and the ceviche had a nice citrus touch to it. It was served with chips that I believe were plantain. 3. Shrimp - Their version of the walnut coconut shrimp. This is one of my favorite dishes in all asian restaurants, so of course it was no surprise that I was going to love this dish. 4. Elote - Fried corn fritters. This, in my book, took the throne! It was perfectly battered and fried with cheese inside! Once you took a bite out of the fritter, you can taste the sweet fresh corn that they put in there. I totally could've had this as an entire meal. 5. Bulgogi Nachos - Loved this dish as well! They used fried wontons in replace of chips in their nachos. The owner took the time to explain to us that their wontons are made fresh in the restaurant, and you can tell from each bite that there was some love put in that. 6. Cauliflower Tots - Pretty self explanatory. It was drizzled with a sauce on top (couldn't remember the name). 7. Pork Belly - Similar to chicharron. Super delicious and crunchy! 8. RM212 Fried Rice - This was my second favorite dish. It was served with duck confit, which I love! 9. Udon Pasta - The noodles were delicious and perfectly cooked. It was presented as well also! My favorite part about this restaurant is the low-key vibe with amazing bites. The owner was super accommodating and attentive as well. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to the Bay Area.

What a super cool restaurant! Note that RM 212 is not the best place to bring a super large group (like anything over 8 is probably pushing it). It's rather small and intimate and that definitely gives it a feel of exclusiveness... But in a good way! RM 212 is definitely hip and cool. Do the kids still use those words these days? Not only are the aesthetics on point, but they're bumpin' the CUTS. I'm talking Post Malone, R Kelly, Wiz Khalifa... Like, they're with itttt. Our menu was pre-determined as we were here for a team dinner and our lead had already figured out what we'd be trying. She's got some good taste, because we had some yummy dishes! I don't know the exact description of EVERYTHING we had, but there were definitely some stand out items that were my favorites. We were first brought some edamame, crab ceviche, and tempura shrimp... The edamame had a kick to them from whatever it was they were tossed in, the ceviche was light & tasty and SUPER generous with the crab. My favorite of the three was the battered shrimp - the batter was light, crispy, and didn't taste like it was covered in frying oil (which tends to happen with a lot of battered foods, I feel). The next dish brought were the Corn Fritters - they may have (debatably) been the team favorite of the night. The outside of the fritters definitely had a kick to them, but the inside was dense, delicious, and cheesy. Shortly after, we got one of my favorites: the Crispy Pork Belly. Ungggggg. Crispy on the outside, STUPID soft on the inside, and so so yummy. I could've had just a plate of that and been happy. Our last dishes were an Uni Pasta and a Duck Confit Fried Rice. The pasta wasn't my favorite, as it was a little on the sweet side and the texture was a little slimy for me. The Duck Confit Fried Rice was SOOOO FREAKIN' GOOD. I can't decide between that and the pork belly for my fave dish. The owner of the restaurant was SO nice. He took time to explain dishes to us, had super genuine conversation with us, and set up the cutest check-in offer for his biz... The check-in offer is a two minute heart-to-heart session with him! Ha! The onlyyyy reason I'm deducting a star is because we had someone in our group that had some food restrictions, and with a couple dishes they said that the dish wouldn't affect her, and that didn't end up being the case. Everything turned out to be okay with her, but I could see how that could've ended up being a bad situation. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're in the area! They've got fun cocktails, too!

That's why, when I find a restaurant in walking distance to my workplace, I will give a good look into its reviews. Eating in Chinatown can get tiresome. After all, how much Szechuan and Hunan food can one eat?! This bar/restaurant borders Chinatown and the Financial District making it convenient for quick lunches. Mostly known for its happy hour menu and bar, I invited a couple friends who also work in the area to join me for lunch. There were only two other tables of dine in customers but a steady flow of take out visitors while we dined. Here's what we tried, sharing everything family style: 1. Beef noodle soup (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XcFXohW891RpqGZpLJ9SEQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Hearty bowl that was a lunch special; flavors were there, beef was tender, and noodles were just right. 2. Ground beef and jasmine rice loco moco (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=lLmgC9INIPU6shCRmFfwPg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Closest rendition of the original style loco moco with the ground beef substituting for the hamburger patty. Egg was perfectly cooked and runny, perfect for mixing with the gravy and rice. 3. Chicken tikka and brown rice loco moco (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_yPsZhThNrW65gtLkl35PA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Not being into brown rice nor familiar with Indian spices, I only found this okay and definitely preferred the other two versions. 4. Pan seared spam and garlic fried rice loco moco (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Cd4tAvBDP3WRYz-SGO21eQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - This certainly the sexiest of the three that we ordered. Unfortunately, it didn't really stand out against the other two rice bowls. Maybe if we tried only one at a sitting, this would have been more interesting. The chef waited on us and described the food as we ate it. One friend gave him frank advice in giving more gravy to the bowls. The chef explained his background and vision, which makes sense in the difficult dining scene in the City now. He is tinkering with the menu to find what works best and the most sense for the lunch crowd. I would come back if I had that loco moco craving and certainly hope to find time in the near future to try the broader evening menu.

2.5 stars. This place is not really for someone who is asian and has high standards for asian or asian fusion food - the food is substandard with that bar in mind. The service is pretty awesome. I had to order food and eat it in 20 minutes right after they opened at 5pm and they completely accommodated me. And when I grimaced at the food, they were willing to sub it out for something better. The better dishes: Edamame - spicy but the edamame is undercooked. Chicken wings - this is probably the best dish here. Pretty good. AVOID: Pork Fois gras dumpling - sounded decadent but poorly executed. Not edible - had to send it back. The dumpling skin is way too thick as well. Tuna tostada - too salty. Best to get a table if you are here. The bar is too high for the stools at the bar.

On a cold windy night on a holiday evening, RM 212 was the welcome refuge with solid bites and interesting drinks. With few late night options on the last day of the holiday weekend, RM 212 was thankfully open. Not easily found off tucked away, RM 212 is much like its namesake a cozy place with a few seats at the bar. With the soundtrack mainly consisting of throwback 90s jams, the place was a welcome change of pace. While they definitely had a few interesting drinks, the menu is more of an Asian fusion tapas style restaurant and I ended only trying the food here. Here is what I tried: - Foie Gras Gyoza - Surprisingly rich and flavorful bites filled with nice inner filling that complemented well with the pickled side. While the foie gras taste is subtle, it does have a nice impact that makes this worth getting. - Kurobota bao - A strong blast of flavor primarily from the wasabi mayo that really gives it a kick to combat the rich flavors of bacon wrapped sausage. Another surprising combination that I would recommend especially if you like a good wasabi kick. - Ahi tuna salad - Frankly a little disappointed but not at all surprised that this was just okay. For a place that does mainly bar food, the salad is probably not the best thing to chose. The candied nuts were a little too sweet and was a little too much sweet on sweet with the dried cranberries. Would not ultimately recommend. The service was overall very attentive and friendly. Overall, if you are looking for decent bar food with a good mix of Asian fusion, check into RM 212!

Disappointed given the high ratings here on Yelp. Located in Chinatown, the restaurant itself was tight seating. Service was fine. There is a decent selection of cocktails, along with an asian fusion menu. FOOD: - Uni Udon Carbonara 1/5 - this was a total disappointment. Pricey because of the uni, but not worth it at all. Bland and boring. - Chicken wings 3.5/5 - these were decent with good flavours, but nothing outstanding. - Cauliflower 2/5 - had better 'kfc' in the past.

Go to this place tonight! What an intimate atmosphere and welcoming staff. The Yelp offer is a must because Patrick, one of two brothers who owns the place, is extremely personable and accommodating. He sat down and chatted with us after dinner, and we felt like we were at his home as friends. The food is creative and easy to share. The nachos have an Asian twist. If you want something different, try this cool Asian Tapas place. It's perfect for a party of four so that everyone could share and taste multiple plates. They offer beer, wine, sake, and creative cocktails made with soju.

If I had to sum up RM 212 in one word, I think it'd be "homey." The waitress was so personable and friendly and if you check in on Yelp, you earn yourself a two minute heart to heart with the owner. Definitely feels like a place for friends hosted by friends. Between two separate trips, I think I covered most of the menu but here was everything I really enjoyed: - Bulgogi nachos: The "chips" they used aren't your average Tostitos but crispy wonton strips that held up well to the sauce and toppings and didn't turn soggy immediately. A little too oily for my stomach but I guess you're not coming here to order a salad. Which brings me to the next dish. - Asian noodle salad: I ordered this thinking it would be good to ingest some greens every once in awhile and it was good ... but (and I hardly ever say this) it could have used a touch more dressing. - Poutine and the curry mac n cheese: The epitome of drunk food. The drinks I ordered were just okay. The Stuyvesant fizzy drink was a little too light and watered down (which I suppose makes sense) and the pomegranate cosmo tasted almost entirely of mint. I like mint in my toothpaste but loathe it in any other form.

Came here for a birthday tapas dinner. Most notable dish was the Poutine! Savory and full of potatoes! Honey walnut shrimp was pretty good, although it doesnt have the candied walnuts. Wings were pretty crispy! Overall, it was pretty good but I don't really have a STRONG craving to come back.

Do you know the difference between real hip hop vs the music now aka ratchet music? (Kanye Shrug) The sounds of bumpin hip hop music coming from a slaying restaurant. I'm in the building and I'm feeling myself lol Met up with good friends for some drinks and of course food. Small but upbeat joint with a modern twist of fusion foods. I noticed their menu is switched up from time to time and I like that. Greeted by knowledgeable staff who were quite friendly and entertaining. Killed a few specialty drinks which I would like to recommend-Korean mule. Think just not vodka but soju and candied ginger. As for food: my faves were deep fried elote, kurobata sausage bao, and thier salt and pepper wings. Nachos were interesting-used wontons as chips but meat brisket was a little tough, which can be smoked more longer but great flavors. Either way we all had a great time and I would definitely make another appearance.

They have happy hour all night and I think the happy hour menu changes quite often. When we went they had wine for $7, drinks such as cucumber gin and yuzu vodka for $6 and truly's + a shot for $10. We ordered off their regular menu just to try some of their speciality cocktails. We got the soju coloada, the lychee martini and the gimlet. The drinks were all really good and $12 each. For food we ordered the adobo poutine which was to die for! The potatoes were crispy on the outside but fluffy in the inside. The sauce and toppings all tied together nicely to create the perfect dish. We also ordered the lamb lumpias which I was not a big fan of. I usually like lamb but these lumpias had this extremely strong smell and taste that wasn't pleasant. Lastly we ordered the curry Mac and cheese which wasn't flavorful or cheesy at all. Which was disappointing because it sounded like a very interesting dish. Overall, their cocktails are delicious and worth coming for but the food could really be a hit or miss.

I planned a lunch to meet with some friends on a Friday (during the work week) - since I am such a Yelper, I chose this spot with good rating and close to both of our offices. There is no lunch menu posted online and the other photo from another Yelper for the lunch menu is no longer correct - so see my photo of the current menu. It is a few "entrees" and a bunch of sorta tapas, or small things to share. The non red-meat eater of the three of us got their version of chicken nachos - the tortilla chips are fried wonton strips and it is like an asian version of nachos. All three of us split the samosas as an appetizer - which we all enjoyed. The other gal and I split the pork belly buns (YUM) and the loco coco (pretty standard). They both ordered the house-made ginger ale - which I tasted, which was delicious. I had an ice tea. The food came out too quickly - like 4 mins - and our appetizer came out AFTER our entrees. It didn't really bother me, but bothered another gal - who said the service was "weird" - but- for a casual lunch that doesn't bother me so much.

"212" is for New York, were the owner was from. "Rm" is just to describe this place as a room. The blood orange beer was excellent. The Egg/Bacon/Cheese thing was unique and tasty. I sat on the bar, drank beer, ate sandwich, and read my book. Very nice (just the music was a bit loud). Most people were like me, only some were just drinking and chatting. So it is a comfy place to hang-out.

After several additional returns to RM212, and consistently good meals, I had a really bad experience today and wanted to update my review. I again ordered through MealPal, and the same tacos as usual, but what a completely different amount of food, taste, interaction with the staff, etc. The staff: same people as usual but with a rude attitude from the man running the food/serving tables. He seemed irritated that I was there? and put out that I had arrived for my food at the time that I was supposed to. I waited 10 minutes for it to be ready, but after it was handed to me I could feel that it was completely cold on the bottom. The food: Inside of the container is supposed to be hot tacos and hot tater tots. Neither were hot. I walked the food back to my office ~5 min away and opened it up, and not only was it cold but the tortillas were dry and not enjoyable to eat. It seemed like they had been laid into the container cold/not cooked whatsoever. The usually moist and flavorful meat was hard and dry. The tater tots were so cold that I literally could not take them apart without destroying them with my fork. I attempted to warm the meal in the toaster oven, and it sort of got better, but it was overall a disappointing meal. I don't know if they were having a really off day?? but I may need to take a break from RM212!

Came on a Thursday evening after work at 4:15 and we were the first ones there(they open at 4). Greeted warmly by the server and seated quickly. We were told about the specials/happy hour and our drink order was taken. Their Korean Mule and their lychee sojutini were a perfect start. Our server Sherri (I believe that was her name) made some great suggestions. We ordered almost one of everything from the menu plus their special duck confit fried rice topped with a fried egg. Everything was delicious!! Highlight was the butterfish tataki! So clean, fresh and made my mouth sing;) Wish there were 50 pieces on that plate. Gives Roka Akor's version a run for their money. The chef and server checked on us throughout to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Service was excellent. Oh, Kim Chee Tater Tots only for lunch, so we will. E back!

If you are looking for "home," this is your place. No need to mention how awesome the food is or how great the folks are. They speak for themselves. It's the place in time that you are... put everything down and breath twice. Relax. Tell Patrick that I say, "Thank you."

RM 212 is definitely the spot in Chinatown for cocktails. They have a decent selection of drinks, ranging from flavored soju, unique cocktail mixes, spirit infused sake, wine and more. I loved that their cocktails are more so on the flavorful and fruity side. My group and I tried the wings (gochuchang and soy garlic) and they were the star of the show! They were essentially salt and pepper wings with a dipping sauce. So delicious! The wings were cooked crispy and hot. We ordered a bacon wrapped shrimp and the Asian peanut noodles too. Both were a little too heavy for my taste buds. The bacon shrimp skewer was too heavy handed with the bacon -- we could barely taste the shrimp! The Asian peanut noodle was tasty but the peanut sauce was overflowing. Ambience was loud yet cozy. Service was friendly and relatively efficient! This will definitely be my go-to spot for drinks and tapas here and there!

Finally knocked RM 212 off my list of places to try. I inquired about hosting a party of 10 (ended up 14) for an after~work happy hour and was able to book the middle seating in the restaurant. The venue is fairly small so I was fortunate that they were so accommodating to squeeze my group in, especially on a Friday night. My group was very intrigued with the selection of tapas and eats that the kitchen had on tap. If I had to pick some fan favorites and dishes to try, they would be: 1. Bulgogi Nachos 2. Korean Fried Chicken Wings 3. Xian Lamb Potstickers It's no surprise that these were a big hit since Patrick and Ricky (family owned) are from the east coast and you can taste the flair from that region in the tapas at RM 212. Aside from the super service (thank you Jenn!) and cold drinks, the food carried their weight in gold and that's what drives the high rating on Yelp.

Throwback hip hop and R&B playing in the background instantly makes me love this place! Our server was super helpful and friendly. I ordered the breakfast baos and those we're really good. I asked for hot sauce on the side and that made them perfect! My favorite part of the meal had to be the Brussels sprouts and tater tots! AMAZING! The Brussels sprouts were shredded, I think, and super crispy. The tater tots were also crispy and topped with kimchi and some kind of sauce. I heard that their menu changes often so I'm definitely adding this place to my rotation of lunch spots.

My wonderful Wednesday lunch companion suggested this spot and the concept piqued my interest enough for us to make the trek from our SoMa office. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and seated straight away. Our solicitous server recommended we order 4-6 plates. We decided on the following: Kimchi tater tots MacWontons Brussels sprouts Chicken wings Everything was enjoyable, but then again everything was fried. How often is fried food not enjoyable? To RM 212's credit, all of our dishes were freshly fried, and I liked the flavors. The kimchi tater tots were the standout for me - sort of an Asian take on totchos. (I love totchos!) I'm not sure I'd come back to RM 212 for lunch, but I'd definitely return for happy hour. This food definitely needs to be accompanied by adult libations!

***3.5 Stars*** From the name of RM212, I thought this was a club or dive bar or speakeasy, but it's actually a great happy hour and lunch spot! I came here on a Thursday for happy hour (not too crowded) and was amazed by their Asian Infused Snacks: +Roasted Brussels Sprouts - great crisp but on the Sweeter side. +Kimchi Tater Tots - just your regular tater tots but with a Kimchi twist! +Elote Corn Fritters - great corn taste but a little doughie. +Salt and Pepper Wings - Great salt and pepper crisp, but needs more of a spicy kick! +Foie Gras Gyoza - the honey or mango sauce on it is good if you like savory and sweet, but wish it was separate. Overall, the happy hour is good, but the food is average. What I really adore is the intimate venue, the really nice chefs and staff, and the menu variety!

An impromptu happy hour brought Peter L and I here last Wednesday, March 1st around 5:45pm. He got there first, so he was able to grab a table for two as the restaurant is rather small. It wasn't super busy when we got there, but it quickly filled up. *Elote Corn Fritters: cilantro lime aioli ($5.75) *Roasted Brussel Sprouts: sweet chili ponzu ($6.95) *Salt & Pepper Wings: XO garlic relish ($8.95) *Kurobuta Sausage Baos: apple & onion slaw, pineapple chutney & wasabi aioli ($9.95) *Curry Shrimp Tempura: coconut crema ($11.95) *Foie Gras Gyozas: mango duck sauce ($13.95) *Hite: Korea ($5) x4 For their HH specials they do $4 Hite and half off wings. I think the wings were for Wing Wednesday, but I'm not absolutely sure that was why. (If you're a math person like me, it's not technically 50% as the wings were $4.50, but I guess it's close enough. Lol!) My favorite dish was the corn fritters. Crispy and cheesy. I also liked the pot stickers though I couldn't taste much foie. The waiter said there was a lot in there, but I love seared foie, so I missed that intense aroma and flavor. They were still good gyozas overall. The brussels were also tasty. Roasted well with a nice salty and sweet contrast. The wings and bao were okay. Good for snacking when drinking beer. I was bummed they were out of the Uni Cream Pasta as I really wanted to try that. The only bad dish was the shrimp tempura. Sooo salty! And I love salt. They ended up taking that off our bill which was sweet. The servers here are awesome! Checked up on us when needed. Even the chef came out and asked us how our meal was going and asked us for some feedback. We told him about the shrimp and he apologized. I guess they were trying out a new batter recipe? Regardless, the customer service here was amazing. You can tell everyone really valued all the diners' opinions and just wanted everyone to have a good time. Great new spot in the Financial District. I do want to come back and try that uni pasta. I do love uni after all!

This place radiates nothing but good vibes. After galavanting through Chinatown, we stumbled upon RM 212. It looked really nicely decorated, so we decided to stop in. The place was trendy, the music was good, and the employees were extremely inviting. We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and decided to grab a seat at the bar. They have some awesome beers on tap, but I was super excited they had ciders, because they're hard to come by. The cider we tried was absolute perfection. Crisp, fresh, and not too sweet. I wish I had this on tap at my house. As for the food, we didn't get to eat here, but the guy next to us was raving about how good the hand rolls, shrimp, and sweet potato samosas were. We're definitely stopping by before our departure to make sure we get to try the food first-hand. The best part of this place are the people running it. The owners, Patrick (and I didn't get the other guys name) were so sweet. Great conversation and genuinely awesome dudes. They gave us some awesome recommendations on places to go and what places to stay clear of. And, they even hooked it up with a shot on the house. Thanks for everything!

Oh man, where to begin.... The food is amazing. Brussels sprouts, nachos, baos, and tacos. I had them all. I enjoyed Sapporo on tap, a prosecco cocktail, and some soju. ALL were superb. The staff here is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and even assisted when a drunk passerby got a little too interested in joining my and my friends conversation. I left full and a wee bit tipsy without a gigantic dent in my wallet. I can't wait to go back and visit my new friends.

Wow, get this chef on Chopped ASAP! Amazing creation Beef Bulgogi Nachos. I love nachos and I love bulgogi, but obviously never thought to mix them together. It was a delicious combo! They use this sriracha creamy cheese that's more sauce than cheese but it's got great flavor and a nice little kick too. The beef was cooked to perfection, full of richness and taste and was a generous portion. Prices were a little high, but I'm not from SF so maybe that's just me. Small place but definitely a hidden gem, and you can tell the chef loves what he does. What was weird tho, was when I got the first receipt (before giving the card) it had a lower amount on the 'suggested tip' percentages than after the card was ran. Weirddddddd
