Road Less Traveled Cuisine

I made the trip up to RLT Cuisine after following Chef Gilberto’s work for a while and wanting to experience the Food Lab. Honestly, I loved the whole thing from start to finish. Josue and Gerald were running the show and they completely blew our socks off. You can really feel how much these guys enjoy what they do, and that energy comes through in everything, not just the food but the whole experience. You can tell they’re genuinely proud to be part of the RLT team and what Chef Gilberto and the crew have created. The daily menu rotates around whatever’s seasonal and freshest locally, with some produce coming in from their sister farm project too. It gives the chefs the space to really play and create, I thought that was epic. The food was delicious, thoughtful, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour. What stood out most was the way they made Guanacaste’s local produce feel exciting and elevated, without losing what it is. They also did an amazing job curating the evening and making us feel genuinely welcome in such an intimate space. As someone in the same industry, I left feeling inspired and very grateful. Incredible. The food was incredible with Melisa and Rodolfo! Flavors are out of control delicious. Wonderful presentation. Best meal we have had in Costa Rica. They made accommodation for one person with food allergies. We enjoyed every bite. Pick the chefs choice dinner! You wont regret it. We work in the culinary field and we were so impressed!

Such a memorable night! They bent their 4-person rule for us and set up a cozy, romantic table just for me and my wife. The 6-course meal was next-level — every dish hit perfectly — and they even added drinks, a bottle of wine, and a birthday cake 🎂 with a candle. Josue was flaring up the food like a show, Sebastian was the ultimate host, and Fiorella’s drinks were spot on. It was all so meaningful to me — I left happy, grateful, and a little mind-blown. Thanks for making my 40th unforgettable! Can’t wait to come back for the cooking classes and bring our son next time 🩵

Honestly the best fine dining experience we had in Costa Rica. This is top tier quality with beautiful dishes that solely utilize local ingredients. It’s not only wonderful artistry, but a super enjoyable experience being able to converse with the chefs and your neighbors. Would absolutely recommend this over any resort restaurant. It’s authentic and outstanding.

What an amazing and unique experience! Robert met us in the parking lot and we felt very welcome and at home. We shared dinner with another very kind couple. So intimate and so delicious. Josue took great care to prepare each dish. It’s fun to have him cooking right there and each bite was fresh and flavorful. Would absolutely put this on the top of my list of must do while in Guanacaste. Thank you so much for a memorable evening.

Wonderful, delicious, locavore delights. Super fun to watch h the chefs prepare and decorate each course. We appreciated the flavors and the variety, with layered and complex courses. Very kind and thoughtful chefs explained the history and the preparation beautifully.

The Road Less Traveled Cuisine was a full experience! Getting to watch the chefs prepare everything in front of us made this experience truly unforgettable. The food was delicious too! I would definitely recommend having dinner here if you are traveling to Costa Rica!

We had Road Leas Travelled come to our Airbnb, they were absolutely amazing. So so sweet and kind and the food was wonderful. They gave a story behind each dish and the flavor was AMAZING!! my fiancee and father in law are chefs so they are hard to impress, and they were blown away by all the food. If I ever am back in Costa Rica, or if someone asked me for recommendations around here, i’d recommend RLT any day over the fancy restaurants (we went to a few and while the vibes were great, the food wasn’t worth the price). this meal and service was worth every penny
