"This former food truck and James Island staple has a new home on Johns Island that’s still dishing out the renowned she-crab soup and a variety of fried items — from green tomatoes to shark bites to alligator. The fried shrimp arrives lightly battered and pairs best with a side of red rice." - Parker Milner

Our friends from Charleston took us here when we were visiting. It's a small place with a healthy wait time around dinner, but it was well worth it! We started with the crab cake bites, which come with what they call "Roadie" sauce, and they were excellent. I ordered the "pick any two" basket with fried shrimp and calamari, coleslaw and corn on the side. This was definitely some of the best calamari I've had, nice and tender without being rubbery. Prices were great as far as seafood goes and the staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely eat here again!

New location. We have been to the original location off Folly road and was blown away with that side dishes but not so impressed with the new location. Food was still good, fried, but the sides wasn't as good. Staff was friendly and even spoke with the cook who was very appreciative of our visit.

Amazing! Fresh seafood, cooked and seasoned great. All of it was good, try the gator and shark bites for sure too if you're feeling frisky. Staff is lovely and the vibe is perfect for some seafood.

Had to find some fresh shrimp so we headed out to Johns Island and had a great lunch at Roadside Seafood. Onion rings are killer but the she crab soup was amazing. Had the poor boy with shrimp and fried green tomatoes.

Absolutely phenomenal food. We had the She-crab soup and Gumbo. Both of these soups were perfectly seasoned and were very tasty. Everything was lightly fried to perfection. Great sized portions. The staff was also very welcoming and friendly. We will be returning!

Pretty run off the mill fried seafood. The alligator tail was solid. Everything else was just ok. The sweet tea should be ashamed to call itself sweet tea. Not a bad stop if you know what you're getting. The fried shrimp was actually good but it's still just fried shrimp.

Our group of 10 was searching for a laid back local seafood spot outside of Kiawah & Charleston. This place fit the bill. Several locally sourced fresh fish options prepared grilled or fried, coupled with traditional southern sides. Our group ordered a blend of their specialties and although everything was not served simultaneously, our attentive server offered additional items to compensate for the timing. Delicious fresh fish. No frills decor could use a slight update to feel a bit tidier and welcoming.

Very good food and service. Diverse menu so you can find something for everyone. Very light fried food. Great wait staff.
