"Roam Burgers, a San Francisco favorite for grass-fed beef patties and french fries topped with shaved truffles, founded on Fillmore Street, is headed to Marin County. The Bay Area business will open its newest location in the Corte Madera Town Center, a homecoming of sorts for owner Joshua Spiegelman. This marks the sixth location for the burgeoning burger empire. The restaurant unveiled its house-made vegan burger in November 2022. "We have had our eyes on Marin for a long time and have received many requests from customers to open a location," Spiegelman says. "We believe we’ve found a great one." - Paolo Bicchieri

I don’t understand the negative reviews! My burger came after 5 minutes and was delicious! The outdoor area is cozy. The fried zucchini and onion is such a cool idea. The prices are also fair!

Google
Overall delicious burgers and fries, wide variety of menu options to choose from, the option for bison burgers for example. However, the price is a little high for the portions of the food, even when considering the area it is in.

Very Very Very.....oh, forget it. It's AWESOME. Burgers are tasty and dripping with juicy goodness that could prolly be used to grow burger trees and make everyone happy. My favorite burger and finally it's in my backyard. No need to go across the bridge and dodge zombies anymore! Marin Roam is just what we needed and we got it!!! Oh yeah. The seasonal Spicy Chicken Sandwich is also a winner. What about the milk shakes? Oh, they are superior quality. I think they use Strauss milk so right off the bat they are hitting 1.000!

Google
This is strictly for an order that we received via DoorDash. We tried the classic chicken sandwiches . They were very blah and maybe a tiny bit overcooked. So if you like seasoning and flavor don’t get the chicken sandwich. We also had the haystack the zucchini and onion dish, it was so so salty that we couldn’t even eat it.it was so salty it gave me a headache and I had to drink 3 cups of water after that. On the flip side the burger we had last time were pretty good. I will say that much.

Google
The burgers are good, i’ve tried a few options on the menu and no complaints there. Solid but nothing amazing. Unfortunately two fails on chicken. We tried a fried chicken burger. It was really dry, and the bread was borderline stale. Then next visit tried the spicy chicken strips and they are just weird. The spicy sauce was OK but the meat was tasteless & texture wise.. not convinced it’s chicken… could be some kind of texturized/processed protein.. The seasonal vegetable at the moment is broccoli with Parmesan on lemon and that is very good. Great service. Very efficient and thoughtful floor staff.

Google
I enjoyed the food and thought they had fantastic customer service. The cashier with a mustache was very kind and professional. There was an upset customer and he was very kind to accommodate them. On top of that he was kind to the other customers as well. I will definitely be going back there multiply times based off that experience, but along with this the food was good.

Google
Waited nearly 30 minutes for 1 burger and parm fries. Had a shake while waiting...it was delicious! But i drank it all before my food ever got to me. The parm fries were fresh, smelled great and tasted even better! Tasted like REAL potatoes! Burger was $38 after adding an egg and bacon. Ridiculously priced and extremely underwhelming! Burger wasnt seasoned well, arugula was bitter and off-putting because the burger was bland to begin with. The meat patty was thin, but the caramelized onions were tasty and made up for it. And the atmosphere seemed welcoming, as opposed to the other reviews I read. The cashier was hospitable and instructed me where to go and what to do after I ordered. She was polite, friendly and very helpful and "hands on"; and so were all the other staff. They did a great job! Overall, decent burger, but not worth the price. I will be back however for the fries and shakes!

Google
The kids meal was a joke. $14 for a 6 ounce lemonade, 3 chicken tenders and a half full tray of fries. I understand Marin prices are high, but the value of the kids meal is stupid. The Nashville hot chicken sando was good, but $15 with no side. Maybe they could have spent less on the remodel and kept the prices lower.

Yelp
As a regular patron of the Roam Burgers in San Francisco , I was happily surprised to see them in Marin County at a shopping center that we frequent . We stopped in on a busier friday evening after the holidays. The line to order initially looked daunting as many families herded together to get thier orders read to the cashier . I briefly thought to leave and try when less crowded as it can be problematic in getting your order prepared correctly or consistently. At one point the clouds parted and the queue got smaller and we got our orders in . Granted this is a higher end burger place that has a myriad of options on how you want your burger to come out. You can choose different Breads, proteins, cheeses , sauces ...a fry cooks nightmare ! Our order came out exactly if not better the n we expected. The staff working there all seemed to be in snych with everyones order . Unlike other similar places nearby , the staff seemed to be "on it" cleaning tables , bringing to go containers and taking away plates that customers had finished . Having worked in restaurants in my early years , I tend to be more critical of gaffes if staff is indifferent or poorly trained . The cashier was very patient and thorough with everyone . The quality and preparation of the burgers was excellent. We sometimes order extra items as "insurance" if our inital order is not great . We also ordered a glass of cab which was super . We tried the zucchini and fried onion rings as well . Loved them . Overall they hit it out of the park for a new opening. Lots of restaurants come from other areas to Marin and can have hiccups . I think the management at Roam came prepared to make a great first impression.

Yelp
Got the standard, basic burger for $13ish. Definitely pricy for what I got. It's a regular size burger, with regular toppings. Nothing fancy, except the price. Took a bite, and the beef flavor was good. It could be rarer for my taste. Still, I couldn't get on board with the price for a Roam burger. Service was straight forward, and ambiance pleasing. I'd like to come back for another try, and get more of the offerings. I'll just have to bring a lot more money next time!

Yelp
Ive been to a lot of burger spots in my day and still enjoy trying new ones, but man was I better off just grilling my own at home.. First off, the menu is incredibly misleading. My wife ordered the classic fried chicken sandwich, which contained absolutely everything that wasn't listed on the menu. My wife ended up going to the hospital cause she was allergic to 90% of what was in that so called sandwich. I created my own burger, since I prefer to do things myself to avoid having them mess up my order.. yet they still managed to do so. They selected the wrong bread, and made me pay an extra 10 bucks for bacon and cheese that I didn't even receive. Come here if you want to enjoy a headache and if you're okay with leaving unsatisfied. I think this spot needs to have their staff review a basic handbook on taking orders. Kitchen needs to review a basic handbook on reading the orders and actually comprehending what goes on the sandwich. In addition, furthermore, and last but not least, I wouldn't recommend building your own burger here... unless you bring in every ingredient and take it to the kitchen yourself

Yelp
I have been to Town Center Corte Madera several times by now, but never have I seen this place! I like the name haha. Roam makes me think of adventurers exploring new experiences :) anyway, I got their Tavern Burger and Russet Fries with chipotle maple seasoning. It is straightforward: I got what it sounds like. Good burger with tavern vibes, and fries with the taste of chipotle and maple flavors! They did not go overboard with the salt and I like the textures and taste. They seem to have seasonal menus and salads/soup too, which is already more than most burger places, so that is a plus. They also have nice music to groove to while you are enjoying your meal. Friendly staff too. I shall return!

Yelp
Incredibly slow food delivery and the staff don't seem to care. Not a good option if you actually need food.

Ruth R.

Yelp
I was expecting this place to be a small burger but very tasty and filling! The burger I had was nothing special and I felt was lacking seasoning on the patty. The fries were not my favorite but I did love their root beer. Overall I felt like it was heading twords super duper vibes but lacking all the flavor. If I'm going to spend that much money on a burger I much rather go to super duper where the price is high but you never regret it because the burger is up to par. Maybe one day I will come back just for another try but as of right now u wouldn't. The customer service was okay as well.

Ada T.

Yelp
Tomato soup was amazing burgers were also amazing. Food came quick and we had a really nice waiter.

M A.

Yelp
Unfortunately this is our third time trying the Corte Madera location and the food is not great. The SF location is good so it may just be this location. The service is attentive and the place is clean its just the execution of the food isn't that great. There was not any salt added to the fries, which is best added when they are hot. The fries came out 5-10 minutes prior to our burgers. The Chalet burger was room temp, the Swiss cheese wasn't fully melted and the mushrooms were cold. The veggie chalet burger had the same issues and the classic burger was lukewarm. I walked away thinking there was just no real thought or care into our meal and this wasn't the first time.

Tricia C.

Yelp
Absolutely what our little mall needed! I have been a huge fan of Roam burger for years and this place is no exception! The price point is great with fabulous kid options. Plus the various high quality meats give the perfect diversity of dietary needs. The food came out fast, delicious with excellent quality control.

Yelp
Ratings: Bison Burger. 10 Chicken Sandwich. 10 Brussel Sprouts. 9 Sweet Potato Fries. 10 Ice Cream. 9 Service. 10 Maybe the best burger and chicken sandwich I've had in years. Excellent preparation. High-quality. Sustainable ingredients. One of my favorite recommendations because this place, the food, taste, totally worth it.

katie d.

Yelp
Establishment is good services. Good people are friendly. The food is ok overpriced over cooked chicken is hard not juicy more of a fast food setting but over 70 for 2 meals

Jan F.

Yelp
I had the classic burger, which had very little flavor. The meat was not flavorful. I prefer dill pickles on my burger, not butter pickles. I like a slice of onion not chopped onion. I could not taste the tomato. I thought they forgot the tomato until I saw it half way through the burger. I did enjoy the sesame seed bun. I also had the zuccini and onion haystack which was too salty. I took the leftover haystack home and made a frittata with it the next morning. I might order that dish again to use in other dishes at home.

Rita S.

Yelp
FOOD Where's the beef? Seriously...for all the hoopla about their beef sources, the Classic Burger was too thin, overcooked even tho I asked for pink in the middle. To the cook's defense, it's hard to achieve medium rare when the patty is only 1/3-inch thick. The burger as a whole is sloppy...the special sauce and chopped onions completely overwhelm the experience. I ended scrapping this off, which made it less wet, but still not very tasty. I took a bit of the patty and found that's it's very under seasoned (not salted). The fries came out lukewarm. AMBIANCE It's fine. Nothing special. SERVICE It's fine. Nothing special. Would I come here again? No. For $20 for the basic burger and fries, there are better choices. If you want a truly special burger, go to Perry's in Larkspur. Now THAT'S a burger!

Yelp
Went back to Roam Burger for a second time today. Great menu. Burgers, fried chicken, Veggie choices. Soft serve. All with a nice foodie twist. We had to have our same order from first visit it was soo good. Their house-made garden Patty. It's not a burger, but it's a tasty sandwich...a veggie patty that wins over a beef patty any day. And while I'm sure the sweet potato fries are good (many people ordered them), we stuck with the Onion Strings & Zucchini Loaf. Light, crispy, well-seasoned. It's always nice when you try something you've never seen before and it becomes your go-to item. The place is clean. The help is actually helpful. 2Thumbs Up!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Great cheeseburger. Small but that's what I like. Expensive but worth it. The sesame bun is chewy and yummy. Homemade real lemonade, yay!

Autumn H.

Yelp
They are trying very hard to be fancy "artisan" burger spot, but the food is not good, and overpriced. You would do much better to go to in and out. Very disappointed.

Annie D.

Yelp
As someone who can't have gluten I appreciate ROAM so much!! I crave their GF fried chicken sandwich, it's absolutely delicious. They do a great job with menu originality and allergen thoughtful ingredients, and while yes the service is getting its kinks worked out because they just opened, it's worth it. Give them another chance in a few weeks if you feel their quality wasn't what you'd hoped (honestly shocked at some of the reviews), food really is delicious! Staff is super sweet too, we have had nothing but good experiences with their attentiveness and kindness when we've been in. So glad there's finally a ROAM in Marin!!

Kenny O.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time the other day. The burgers aren't bad, however they aren't great, and for the price point ($15), I think you'd be better off elsewhere. I also tried the spicy chicken sandwich which left much to be desired. The shake I had was delicious, I let the clerk talk me into the added marshmallow brûlée, and wasn't sure what to expect, but for $3-5 extra dollars or whatever it was , I got a this tiny little marshmallow melted. Oh well, not to mentioned the shake was also $12 for such a small size, the straw they give you is actually bigger. I got the truffle fries, and they weren't anything special, kind of bland in my opinion, but they tasted like fries. The service was good, and friendly, the place looked busy as people were interested in the new restaurant. However to $60 dollars for four items, I don't think this place is for me.

Yelp
Here's the updated review: "I've been a loyal customer of Roam on Chestnut Street for years, so I was excited to try their new location in Corte Madera at Town Center. Unfortunately, they're still working through some teething pains. A short ordering line grew longer due to awkward service from the cashier, who stopped to assist someone else mid-order. My table received the wrong fries, and when I tried to correct it, the kitchen staff had already left. I waited for more than 15 minutes, even though it wasn't very busy at 4:15 PM. While the manager offered to fix things, he didn't realize I had also ordered a burger. For a place that charges premium prices, the mediocre service was disappointing. The food is good and I'm willing to give it another shot while they work out the kinks.

Nancy C.

Yelp
Loved the burger. Really really tasty. Through no fault of anyone I just wasn't crazy about the noise from the children. They were cute but so LOUD! Couldn't wait to leave but will definitely go back.

Malcolm R.

Yelp
Had lunch there today and ordered the BBQ Burger. They ask how I wanted it, and said pink inside. That's exactly what I got, in a very large and juicy burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had.

Mark P.

Yelp
BBQ and Tavern burger were great. Russet fries, crispy and wonderful. Great service, highly recommend.

Liana C.

Yelp
Had high expectations and was extremely disappointed. Confusing where to order and the food took forever. People behind us got their food first. The burger was tiny and the chicken sandwich was just 1 chicken tender that only filled up half the bun. The fries were cold when they handed them to us and so was the burger. All the tables on the patio were empty but dirty and nobody came around to clean them. All around very disappointing and we won't be going back to try again.

Katie O.

Yelp
All good things here! One of our favorite spots for burgers in SF, finally a little closer to home. Best burgers and these things they call haystacks, onions and zucchini fried amazingness! All I can say is you will find something for everyone here and you will want to lick your plate clean. Check out the website and see for yourself and wash it down with some ice cream!

nader v.

Yelp
Lackin..... basic burger is 6.5/10..Overall presentation looks great but first bite was disappointing unfortunately... Hope they get it right...if not that mall is a tough gig to keep going. In

Nicole P.

Yelp
Delicious! Food is outstanding, the salads are well portioned, and so good. I have tried a few different burgers, and ingredients are fresh and tasty. Got to try their soft serve, the best I have ever had. I have yet to try the milkshakes but those look good too. Highly recommend.

Sandra O.

Yelp
We LOVE burgers and will try them all. Been to the Chestnut location once and was disappointed, but thought we'd give this location a try while shopping in Corte Madera. Such a let down. Classic Burger was flavorless and Medium temp was overcooked. Butter pickles? What?!? No!!!! And the prices- crazy. 3 burgers, 1 fry and 1 shake almost $70. Yikes. And a serious lack of seating. Staff was all very kind, so that's where they get an extra star.Won't be back, sorry.

Gabrielle H.

Yelp
We were excited about Roam's opening in Corte Madera, but every time we drove by, the long line discouraged us from waiting (no online ordering). We finally caught them at a not-too-crowded time and got our burgers and fries to go. HUGE HUGE disappointment. Ordered the burgers medium-rare, got them dry and over-cooked. Not juicy. Meat and pickles tasted weird. Awful, mealy tomato slice. Fries (smallish) were covered in parsley, yet curiously tasteless. The bun was OK. This sad meal actually cost over $40.00 for 2 people! yet it was bagged like McDonalds. If you're craving a good burger, roam somewhere else.

Greg C.

Yelp
It was getting late and we needed a bite, drove past the mall to see what my options were since it was close by I saw Rome burgers which appeared to be new. I have never seen it before so we gave it a try. It was brand new being only two months old and of course, very clean, modern and comfortable, helpful, friendly staff, and we were able to order burgers that we wanted with custom add-ons a highlight that I liked was that the food being served was unreal China and not plastic plates to cheap in it. Prices were average for the quality. They are reserving and I will be going back because I like it a lot.

Leafy T.

Yelp
Horrendous service and quality. We got 2 burgers (kids meal and one specialty burger w/ fries) and it costed $40. Outrageous. Wait time was over 30 minutes, which is ridiculous for 2 burgers. They also only put one fry in our bag when there was supposed to be 2?.. Burgers were okay, mediocre at best. Don't recommend this place to anyone who's looking for burgers.

Sandra M.

Yelp
I can only give this place a 3. It is on a par with super duper or shake shack. I appreciate that they use pasture raised beef, but the burgers are only so so. The counter had a far superior burger which was charbroiled and tasty. F3 was next in line for a great burger. Those 2 restaurants are the best burgers I have had in Marin. I would like to find more places that cook their burgers on an open fire, as I prefer that taste better than one fried on a greasy grill.

Jen S.

Yelp
Our family has been looking forward to trying Roam burger since it opened, especially the house-made veggie patty for the 2 vegans in the family. Well tonight was the night and we were sorely disappointed. Not only was the burger red and looked like raw meat, it was mushy and oozing off the bun. Into the compost they went. Please create a veggie burger that actually holds up like a burger and tastes/ looks good. Ugh.

Zach G.

Yelp
If youve just won the lottery and want to blow half of it on a mid burger this is the place for you. Just paid $40 for a burger, fries, and a shake. Burger was under seasoned, shake was tiny and mediocre, and fries were flavorless. Unbelievable.

Hayley M.

Yelp
I've eaten here twice with family and have tried a few different burgers from their menu. My favorite is the one with truffle fries and brie! So fun and delicious. Also cannot get over the haystack and truffle fries, both are stellar. While pricing is slightly higher than some may prefer, the quality and portion size justifies it for me. Not sure why people are surprised by the price of milkshakes when they're using Strauss. Same price as a shake at Super Duper

Eddie R.

Yelp
Everything was fabulous except the vegan bacon burger which was way over flavored and fucking awful. But no one's perfect.

Theresa C.

Yelp
The food here is terrific. Burgers are my favorites in the area. The service is gratuitous. The ambience has a modern touch. The outdoor patio great for bringing the family.

SF Native M.

Yelp
Food is OK, burger patty is small. We stood in line to order, and then waited and waited for the meal, which wasn't hot when served. The kitchen must be tiny or totally inefficient. Everything extra is $$$. Overall - way, way too slow . Serve the food hot.
