The Best Cocktail Bars in Seattle

"Owner Anu Apte describes Rob Roy as “a cocktail den celebrating classic drinks with a bit of punk cheek.” Drinks like the Old Soul (bourbon with Jelinek fernet and Genepy Des Alpes) and the House Martini (a split base of vodka and gin, with river rock tincture and fino sherry, garnished with olives, a twist, and pearl onions) demonstrate that bit of punk cheek in action, and showi why this bar has remained a Belltown favorite for over 15 years while frequently earning James Beard Award nominations along the way." - Mark DeJoy

The Best Holiday Bar and Restaurant Pop-Ups and Events in Seattle

"Drop in as this space turns into Miracle for the holidays. The name of the pop-up is cocktails and there are quite a few to try here, all designed by award-winning cocktail makers. New this year are the Stocking Stuffer (bourbon, sherry, amaro, cinnamon syrup, and iced hot chocolate) and Crooked Antler (brandy, port, hazelnut liquor, and chestnut orgeat)." - Courtney E. Smith

I was there for one night. Camped in a tent. At first, I was going to camp at the Rob Roy campground, but there wasn’t any sites close to the lake. I drove around for less than 20 min around the lake and found an awesome spot (and for free). I recommend you bring a lot of bug spray lol There’s also no service at all and will drive around 10 miles in a dirt road to get to the lake so be prepared.

Pristine reservoir with car access around most of it. Hiked around a portion and could see lots of fish. Not much boat activity for a Saturday and it was extremely quiet.

Always primitive camp on the East side which limits the size and noise of neighbors. No 5th wheel in their right mind would attempt it. I used to camp in the campground until the generators, porta-mansions and road parasites took over. 8am-10 pm (and beyond) are quads and other screaming, dust raising road lice, relentlessly going back and forth on the county road and through the campground. You can easily follow the course of these Mad Mad wannabees between Albany and the dam by the clouds of dust rising above the forest. John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt would be enraged to see what has become of our wilderness. Shameless, thoughtless, selfish. The Forest Service should intervene, but won't. But, like all things, it will self-correct. Someone will hurt themselves and others, and they will be sent packing. Peace and the natural balance will be restored. On a brighter note, our tenting neighbors were so kind and generous in sharing space and resources with us. We had a beautiful spot near the reservoir, active fishing and plenty of time and bourbon in the hammocks, s'mores and Frito pie, and good conversations.
