Robertacos

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought a California burrito has carne, guac, and fries. I have something on the menu they call it California burrito but instead of guacamole it has sour cream and cheese. I'm sure there are food is okay but I made an extra trip and I was very disappointed. I have never had a California burrito anywhere that didn't have guacamole on it. They were willing to do a substitute but charge me $2.50 extra for the guacamole. Is my expectations were wrong, that's one thing but like I said I've never had a California burrito that did not have any guacamole on it. Extremely disappointing

I bought a burrito fries were harder than a rock the meat was dry and the tortilla was burned. And the cheese fast over heated. First and last time i eat in this place. I rather eat dog food thank this

Absolutely terrible. I got a California burrito that tasted good then I went again the next day and I got food poisoning. I guess my stomach was able to handle it once but the next time it couldn't. The lady takes a while to answer to take your order. My guess she barely has any customers and leaves the meat out and it starts to spoil throughout the day. Other reviews talk about the meat being undercooked so that could be another option as well.

Five stars!!!! By the border tacos??? I'm in loveeee- so in loveeee! I ordered like... Over $30 in mini tacos😭 sooo good...i kept going back to the counter to order more....honestly...just go...so worth it+ great price!!! I loved it! I am just visiting the area but I would make this a regular low-key taco spot. Not fancy just good food and kind people. ❤️❤️ thank you for the amazing tacos, y'all! ❤️❤️

Great taco joint for a quick meal! We loved everything we had. A #12, #17, #6, and chips and salsa. The horchata was yummy too. Between our meals we had a variety and it was all good. The rice and beans were great too!!

I am a very forgiving person as I own a restaurant too. But when I ordered an 8 dollar Torta and got just barely AN OUNCE ( yes I weighed it) of ham a few teaspoons of guacamole and a little lettuce. No tomatoes, no onions. I lost it. I don't mind paying, but give me some meat. Should have gone to subway

Just got carne asada chips. A litt bit of meat and a lot of sauce. Got aqua fresca and it was watered down too much. Paid almost 20 to get ripped off

If I could 0 stars I would. I ordered 10 beef and chicken burritos from Robertacos for a senior citizen event, and it was a complete disaster. The burritos were delivered within 10 minutes, which should have been a red flag right away. When I returned to the senior citizen property with the burritos, I discovered that the chicken had a foul smell and both burritos were pink inside, indicating they were undercooked. I immediately returned to Robertacos with the untouched burritos and requested a refund, but they refused to give me my money back. The lack of quality control and customer service is appalling. I would not recommend ordering from Robertacos if you value your health and your money. Stay away from this establishment at all costs.

"The Big Plate" and "The Grand Plate" are two of my favorites. They are a lot of food--like two meals worth really. Pictured is the Grand Plate. They are cash only. Open 24 hours.

The Cali burrito amazing things like 3 1/2 pounds filled with everything you want wasn't able to eat at all so I ended up eating the other half for breakfast and had to go back the next day just to get more food service was pretty good we were the only ones there that day

Bad reviews need to give this place another chance. We've been going here since my conception, so 26 years and counting, and their food has been consistently good. Sure, they have their off days, and you can prepare to wait in the drive thru line for forever if there's more than 3 cars in front of you, but it's a solid taco shop. I've actually never been inside the restaurant, only drive thru, but I know it's just a small mom and pop and the main lady who takes care of us is always cordial and remembers us every time, but it's true, no small talk haha. I give it 5 stars cause it's a reliable place for a good meal and I will continue to come here til either 2 things happen: I die or they close.

******WARNING FOOD SICKNESS ******** went to Robertaco and dinned in ordered Two chicken tacos for my friend .... One order Asada burrito for myself ..... two drinks and chips and salsa... everything seemed to be ok the lady behind the register seemed ok and the cook looked mad. We ate and finished food, said thanks and drive a few minutes down to motel 6. Within that short drive my partner was throwing up out both ends shaking sweaty. ! he got sick from the chicken tacos. I was very concerned I would suffer the same fate but the burrito must have had less special sauce beacause it hit me later a day late, sicker than a dog!!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING CLEAR OF THIS RESTAURANT! I WILL NEVER EVER EAT @ ROBERTACO again in my life! We both missed a total of six days of work on our death beds..... in recovery! I'm rating this Buisness five toilets

I don't understand the bad reviews. Been coming to this place for years. I usually go through the drive thru. The cashier is always friendly never rude. Sometimes I get the carne asada chips and had them add sour cream. 5 stars all around, Today I got a machaca burrito. Now let me tell you this breakfast burrito was well worth it. It tasted incredible, when I got home it was still hot, you know when you go to McDonald's and order a combo and you get home 5 minutes later and the fries are ice cold? This was not the case, the burrito was still hot when I got home. Try it and you won't be disappointed. Shout out to the cook.

This used to be a go to when in the South Bay, but unfortunately it's not worth it anymore. The carne asada in both the burrito and chips ordered was BURNED. I'm talking burned pieces mixed with cooked meat. Like they scraped the grill and served that. I don't understand how the cook doesn't take his job serious or care about the quality of food being delivered to customers. Don't waste your time on low quality food. Customer service has and always will be the same cold tone when ordering. Since I was a child. Same lady. Same service.

I came the other night to check out their food since it was the only taco shop open at the time where I was at. To tell the truth I did see bad reviews but I decided to give it my own review honestly. The food was good actually they get 3 starts for the food nothing extreme just well cooked food, but unfortunately their customer service does suck they is no real contact from the lady taking your order in the drive thru pretty blah tone honestly even in person pretty blah, not even a smile to make the experience at least a bit more better the only thing I did not like was is that they do not give u a receipt, so I am not sure if 27 bucks was a good price for 2 items carne asada burrito and fries.

So my girlfriend was hungry, I haven't been on this tacos shop for years but decides to go because the taco shop next door closed. To begin, the customer service was horrible, then I asked for lime and looked like she got mad, and this is what she gave me like really woman ? less than half a lime for a F-ing california burrito? Do you put that amount of lime when you eat one? The taste is okay not that bad but still wouldn't come back for this s*itty service

The lady was pretty rude, i called her twice because there was as a side i wanted to add, she had seen me but she ignored me twice. Other than that, the torta i ordered inmediately dissolved and barely had any asada. Plus they extra charge you a dollar for paying with card, they abuse drive thru. Dont go.

This is my 13 years here as customer, but today is my last day here , because the very bad customer service from this old lady, first she's very rude and second she is very meen person and always over charge the customer. Daily I buy breakfast burrito eggs & fries with out meat with beans I pay $8 & some change daily this old Lady she charging $9 something almost 10 packs this is an believe, I did ask her why you over charge me she said because the beans !!!! Is the beans more expensive than the meat , any way I asked to speak with the owner or the other person who work with her she said I'm the only one who's working and she closed the drive through window in my face , unbelievable very impolite way and the worse customer service ever i have seen in my life !!! By the way I went to other restaurant in my area they charged me even less than how much I was paying normally see this picture at approve , Very sad for all the time I'm sending them all my customers to buy food then they ask about a good Mexican food I always send them customers because we are neighbor but that's is this not my place again ,

I ordered 5 roll tacos from here and they were pretty decent but when I got done eating them I picked up a severe case of an Arab accent that I couldn't get rid of for hours! Ps I'm 100% white. Going back tomorrow for more! 10/10 recommend this place!

I just went thru the drive thru and got some carne asada fries i have ate here for years now i live in az so its a long ways away now i get food and find a pair of tooth picks in my food i call to give them a chance to make it right and no answer here ya go

Been coming here since I was a kid. I grew up in the area. The past 5 years this place really went downhill. Last time I was here was about a year ago and that is when I decided to not come back. Not only is the lady really rude and disrespectful, the food was awful, cold and very bad portions. I had to bite into the burrito 3 times into hard cold tortilla before finally getting to the table spoon of meat they put in there. Anyway, I was in the area and passed by so I stopped for old times sake. Big mistake! Not only was the lady rude again. The burrito was exactly the same as last time. Cold, dry and with a table spoon of meat. It was like going back in time, only this time my wife and I got food poisoning. Eat at your own risk! Also, they charge $1.50 to use your card.

The customer service is the worse especially the lady that takes your order here name is Monica she was aggressive and disrespectful WILL NEVER COME BACK TO ROBERTACOS !!!! And I don't recommend it at all

I ordered a beef taco and a burrito. The taco was put in a styrofoam rectangular shape container upside down and vertical in the bag. The bag got a greasy puddle and it ended up on my car seat. I called to notify them but they are not answering the phone.

Worse taco shop in San Diego. Ordered a carne asada quesadilla and carne asada burrito. The quesadilla hardly has any meat, or cheese, as you can see in the picture. It has NO GUACAMOLE, NO sour cream and NO pick de gallo. EVERY OTHER TACO SHOP has that in their carne asada quesadilla. The bitter lady who lacks ANY social interactive skills gave me 2 salsas. 2 tiny little containers as you can see in the picture. When I asked for more she gave me 1 more. When I asked for green salsa she snapped at me and said "They are $.99!!" I did not like the way she yelled at me, I wasn't asking for a substitution in my meal or anything impossible, so I asked "One little container is a dollar?" She grunted and said something under her breath which i think she cursed in Spanish and handed me ONE small green salsa container. I hope someone in charge of that taco shop actually reads the reviews. I am NOT the only one who has complained about that woman. Something needs to be done regarding her "customer service." The food was like warm and the taste was lackluster. It is without a doubt the LAST TIME I GO THERE! SIN LUGAR A DUDAS, este es el peor establecimiento para querer saciar tus antojos de algo de comida "Mexicana" encargue una quesadilla con carne asada y un burrito de carne asada. La quesadilla cuesta igual que un burro, y como pueden ver en la foto, CASI NO TIENE CARNE NI QUESO! Aparte de eso, no tiene NI guacamole, NI crema agria, NI poco de gallo! En eso gruño como perro, algo que al ver su actitud no creo que le cuesta trabajo hacer, y dijo algo en voz baja lo cual capte que fue una grosería, y me dio 1 salsa nomás. This place is TRASH! Paid $18 for basically tooo big ass tortilla. There is nothing in the burrito and they serviced dry meat. There is another Mexican in the same plaza right next to yum yum go there ‍.

I don't understand why this Mexican food shop has such low reviews . Yes the lady may shun the customers a little bit , and not make small talk. She sticks to serving customers and shes quick .Besides the food is amazing . So delicious especially the carne asada fries which I order all the time. The Fortas are bomb , the carne asada plates are bomb , the rolled tacos are bomb and Cali burritos are bomb. Not to mention they have cream avocado that you can get in a little container . Not guacamole! AVOCADO ! Which my two year old loves to eat . I have never waited for a long order . Very fast service I love this place .

I ordered carne asada tacos and some chicken tacos and they gave me a broken chicken taco with a toasted tortilla ???? Their food is still good though

Came here because my preferred taco shop for carne asada was closed and this place is open 24 hours. Ordered a carne asada taco and had a few bites of my niece's carne asada fries. Prices are decent compared to other spots and the food is pretty decent too, but it's not the best I've had. I can see how it could be someone else's though so I'd give it a bronze medal. They're quick and they have a drive thru. They have a restroom which is clean and appears maintained. Customer service and chef are kind. My brother said this place was bomb but i wasn't impressed. I probably won't be back 'cause I know there is better in San Ysidro, but hey...give it a shot for yourself, your taste buds might be happy. They seemed to have a lot of regulars that they knew by name coming through which says something.

Should be called "ROBARtacos" $1 to process a credit card/debit card is outrageous. They won't give you your total until you come up to the window. Rude customer service at the "Drive-Thru". ...went across the parking lot to JALAPEÑO paid less for a bomb burrito and fresh salsas.

So, I work on the 911 side of city of SD ambulance provider, anyways after my shift I decided to get some food from this place. I check on google what time they close and it said midnight ( I arrived at 10:50 pm ). I get out my car and go to open the door which is already locked, there is a lady with glasses a bit older looking. As she's cleaning I knock on the glass door to ask a question if they were completely closed or if I had to go thru drive thru. I thought it was open because google said they closed at midnight and they had the open led sign lit up. So I knock on the glass door and that lady that everyone is talking about looks up at me ( and I'm in full uniform) and I wave my hands signaling I've a question, and she completely ignored me, looked away and continued to clean some tables. I knocked again a bit harder that even the cook took a peak and the lady did the same thing and ignored me. So I hopped on my car and went thru the drive thru, and waiting for someone to take my order, a sat there for a good amount of time and got nothing. I pulled up to the window where you pay and that lady was taking an order... when she finished she just stared at me with this face of disgust, not even saying sorry, or may I take your order. So I say hello, and asked excuse me miss did you not hear or see me knocking on your front door a couple minutes ago? And she did not say anything, and I said I just had a question and you could have at least acknowledged me or waved me that it's only drive thru, but I got absolutely nothing from you. All she said was "no, because the doors are closed". I asked why again and just kept saying that the doors are closed. Horrible attitude by this lady, and horrible customer service. Did not end up getting anything, she never apologized or nothing.

Was in the area.. and we were hungry. This spot showed up on Yelp! We came here and ordered: 1 Chile Relleno - without the sauce and cheese on top 3 Taquitos - Beef (99 cents each) 1 Carnitas Taco 1 Tamarindo Drink The Chile Relleno was good. The shell was crispy. Although, I felt that there was a little too much oil in it. Maybe that's why it was crispy. I'm usually used to mushy ones. When you bit into the chile relleno you could taste the oil seaping out of it. There was a little too much cheese in it. Still, it tasted good. The carnitas taco was good. The meat was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. There were no dried pieces of carnitas at all. Each bite was good, and it came with pico de gallo on top and some guacamole. The only thing I didn't like about the taco was there was a little too much carnitas with fat in it. Their tamarindo drink was delicious. Not too sweet. It didn't taste artificial. This place accepts debit cards.. for an additonal fee of I think $1. Parking: They have a medium sized lot .. shared with other stores. Or you can just go through the drive thru.

This isn't the most amazing place for food in San Ysidro to be honest with you but it has a the drive thru. That's about the only think that's convenient about this place. The food isn't flavorful it's pretty basic. The drive thru honestly takes a long time sometimes but it's understandable I guess. They change you fees for processing your card. So if you're super hungry and want to get some food on the go this is the spot. But keep in mind that it may be pricey, slow and basic.

You have to assume that your Garmin is lying to you when you try to find this place or you will overshoot it when heading west on SY Blvd. If it wasn't for me assuming that a local was also heading to the same spot, for the same reason, I would have driven past it, and wouldn't have figured out where the drive-through was (it's behind the building and not marked). The drive-thru service was slow, even at 8:15 in the morning with only one car ahead of me, but the resulting ham/egg/potato/cheese burrito was tasty enough that I am glad to have given this place a try. If you are heading to Las Americas in the morning for a day of retail debauchery, stop by for breakfast. You'll enjoy it. HINT: Sign at the drive-thru says that there is a 99 cent charge for credit/debit transactions. Bring cash or pay up.

I have been coming here for years for their drive through carne asada fries. However today we sat in for breakfast after our morning trail. The lady who took our order was so welcoming. I ordered the huevos a la Mexicana which came with tortilla, rice and beans. The kids got scrambled eggs with bacon, hunny got a shredded beef taco and a enchilada. Everything was good.

Food is great older lady in the front taking orders has a horrible attitude horrible customer service resting mean face you can tell she hates her job she doesnt even greet her customer which anyone in customer service know is key the owners of this place should really reconsider her being there business front because man she makes you all look bad !!!!!

While I feel giving a negative review after only one visit, I find little about Roberto's to encourage me that another visit will change anything. Happily, I had no problem with the lady at the counter. But I ordered a California Burrito (pretty safe choice for a first time visit) and it was a disappointment. I don't know how the cheese got melted because the meet and french fries were barely warm. No particular flavor to the meat. The burrito was assembled like a stack. Meat all in one area, cheese all in one area, fries all in one area. I can't believe one would leave Tijuana and come to San Ysidro to buy tacos.... I've passed by this place many times and wanted to try it out. Now I've done it.

Not sure what the deal is, but it's always a struggle to get salsas from this lady that works there. Not to mention the lady is super rude about it. Like what I'm asking for is unique. On top of this they charge a dollar for using a debit card. A single burrito ends up costing 9 bucks. So ordering a bunch of food and ending up with 4 little cups of salsa is super frustrating. You can't eat their food without salsa, there's no point. Only reason this place gets any business is because they have a drive-through and they're open 24 hours. This neighborhood has nothing else. Too bad.

WARNING!!! Either pay with exact money or don't give the old lady at the window any extra time to give you back your change. I paid with a $20 dollar bill and 0.59 cents in change for an order that totaled $15.59. The old lady at the window took the money and went to the back without handing me my $5 change. When she returned with my order she rudely handed me the bag saying nothing at all. I told her I needed my change and she acted like she already gave me my change then began acting like she didn't understand English. I told her in Spanish and she just kept saying "si" and "no" and staring at me. I asked several more times before leaving without my change but made it clear I would not be a return customer to this location. So, if you decide to patronize this location for their mediocre food just heed my warning to either pay with exact money or be sure to get your change right away.

Know the difference Robber-Tacos or Robert-Acos when arguing on which of the many Robert Tacos around the county. Average burrito size, reasonably priced. Good rolled tacos. Good spot to hit up when munchies hit in the A.M. Big fan of machaca burritos and they are quality here.

worse service eveer!! three times i told the lady that my order was TO GO and she gave it to me in a plate to eat in, plus she wasn't even paying attention to me, the fries were burnt, it barely had meat, the guacamole and the salsas were very watery. i went to complain and the lady told me that there was nothing she could do...... i've been going there for more than 10 years this is the LAST time. BAD FOOD & BAD SERVICE!!!!

This place served some of the best tacos I've ever eaten! The 5 of us in the family got an assortment and tried them all. They were so good, very fresh tasting, the price was very reasonable, and the food came out fairly quickly. I'd go back here in a heartbeat!
