For Oyster Season in Atlanta, the “R” Month Rule May Be Outdated - Eater Atlanta

"Roberto’s Deluxe Oysters and Fine Fish in Woodstock offers the Merepoints from Maine, billed as salty, sweet, and creamy; the Barnstables from Massachusetts, which are briny with seaweed finish; and the best of the bunch, the Hama Hama from Washington, which are clean, crisp, and briny." - Denise K. Google
Amazing experience with our kids! The waitstaff was absolutely amazing, we had Doula and we adored him! We started with grilled octopus, calamari and stone crab claws. It was presented beautifully and tasted even better. I got the green goddess salad, my husband got a soup and the kids ordered pasta and popcorn shrimp for an entree. We can’t wait to go back again soon!

Google
Great restaurant overall! Food was delicious! The calamari was extremely tasty (I would have preferred more of them on the plate vs all the other garnish type things) definitely going to order again! I had the red fish with rock shrimp(underneath the fish) and a wonderful sauce…. It was excellent! I also had a side of tempura cauliflower … it wasn’t my favorite… nothing wrong with the item.. the flavors were not something I liked but they were cooked very very well. Our waiter was great! He was attentive and very helpful! I’d definitely go back… there were so many other things I wanted to try on the menu!

Enjoyed our dinner! Food was delicious! Hush puppies, lobster roll & blackened mahi sandwich plus a variety of oysters were excellent! I will say, we did wait 20 minutes for our 7pm reservation/table. It wasn’t too bad though because we snagged 2 seats at the bar while we waited. One thing that made things confusing with the service was that they had a lot of runners that helped the servers. You’d think that would help expedite things, which it may have for the speediness of our food coming out, but it allowed for little things to slip. Miscommunication with getting new silverware, missing my crackers/hot sauce for my oysters, several asks for more water to the server & the runners who all forgot. I don’t think our server was stretched too thin (he may have had 4 tables?) so they need to work on making sure the communication of service if relayed, beyond just bringing out the food. I wish Google allowed me a 4.5 star selection vs just a 4 or 5 (4.5 is where overall Roberto’s is currently sitting at) because this is a solid, delicious date night spot. Just need some improvements on service (also very friendly across the board too). Thank you! We will be back!

Google
Beautiful restaurant in Woodstock, most especially when the weather is pleasant outside. Gorgeous ambiance, airy, inviting and comfortable. The bar has lots of options for wine, cocktails and mocktails. The roasted oysters are a must - cooked perfectly served over salt rocks, with panko breadcrumbs. Scrumptious. The avocado green goddess was also great- healthy size serving with a fair share of salad dressing mixed in. The pumpkin seeds were a nice touch. Lots of incredible options on the menu. Bartenders were fabulous, warm and hospitable. Will be back next time I am in town!

Google
I had the oysters appetizers, very fresh and tasty. Then the lobster Roll. They used salted butter on the bun which over salted the flavors so I could not eat the lobster withe the bun. The fries were under cooked making them dry and hard to swallow so they could not be eaten. The fried chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly but agian the fries were under cooked. The desserts were delicious. One of the best key lime pies I've ever had. The service was excellent. Would I go here again? Maybe.

Google
Service and food were amazing! It was a beautiful night for dinner on the patio. The octopus appetizer and hush puppies were yummy! The Hanger Steak and Low Courty Boil were tasty. Portions are fantastic and while pricey it was a great value for the quality of the food. The servers were helpful with menu suggestions and friendly. Fantastic experience!

Google
Oysters were awesome of course, but the star of the appetizers IMO is the calamari! Basil, cilantro, scallions, n jalapeños sautéed then mixed in w the lightly fried squid. Who needs the cup of sauce when all the delightful vegetables and herbs are there to combine. Everyone makes calamari, but this is a game changer. Well done to the chef! My two servers were also polite, professional, and well versed in their craft, but Olivia was the best!

Google
First time visit. Ordered Blackened Red snapper sandwich. The fish was so blackened that it was difficult to cut with the knife. The sandwich was tough and dry, it should have been a nice tender sandwich to eat. The fries looked delicious but were very dry like they had been setting out for a long time, ketchup didn't help at all. The restaurant was recommended as wonderful but that wasn't my experience. Not sure I will return. The waitress was very sweet.

Yelp
Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good I'm not much of a fan of fish but the fish and chips here is so good, it's my go-to. Apps are great and salads are fantastic

Yelp
Wonderful setting in downtown Woodstock. Outstanding food, great service and upscale ambiance. Had a wonderful experience. Food was very high quality and excellent. Avocado Green goddess salad was yummy ! Egg, pumpkin seeds, pecorino, onions was good combination along with Blackened halibut sandwich. Enjoyed it thoroughly and coming back again, soon !! Overall experience was memorable.

Yelp
Roberto's always hits the spot. We took the family there for a post-Christmas dinner, and everyone loved their food. The octopus was probably everyone's favorite. We also tried their calamari, but I didn't get a photo of it. Our server (I forget his name) was the perfect balance of attentive, engaging & friendly without making us feel as though he was hovering and retracting from our table conversation. The floors were slightly slippery; that could have been my fault for choosing the shoes that I wore. The interior is bright and lively, and we even got a family photo that made it look like there was snow outside, which was perfect for this time of year. They're still one of the best restaurants in Woodstock, consistent, clean, courteous and cultured.

Yelp
Thank you, Robertos. I honestly needed a little treat for the Spirits, and personally, I really appreciate it. Hope everybody has a great, happy Wednesday. Robertos, thank you so much for the double steak burger with cheese, onion, pickles, and fries, and the wine today.

Yelp
Food is always good the bartenders are always spot on . We used to frequent the sister restaurant, 120 prime. But we kinda like this place a little better. We were in the mood for stone crabs and it's been since 1998 since the last time I stepped foot in Joes... delicious! The we just filled the food around it fo dinner and dessert. Yummy.

Yelp
Super amazing place to enjoy great seafood in an upscale setting. Sitting in the heart of Woodstock downtown, such an amazing place. We ordered Halibut, Fish and chips from entree's and green goddess and smoked salmon from salad section. Service was super. Everything was perfect. Really delicious food and enjoyed the special treat. For sure, coming back again.

Yelp
Great food, great service, excellent location. Definitely recommend Oysters was very good, very clean and delicious.

Yelp
This place was amazing. My husband and I were looking for a local place to have dinner for date night. Roberto's did not disappoint. The bread was so delicious it was almost as good as the optimist. If you've been to the optimist then you know what I mean about the bread. The fresh oysters were so good we had 15 and I could've ate more. I had the Cobb sandwich and my husband had the steak. Both tasted great: we will definitely be back. The customer service was awesome.

Yelp
The lobsters are so fresh according to my wife I had the grilled fish sandwich which was perfectly cooked.

Yelp
A Sunday Brunch to Remember at Roberto's Deluxe Woodstock is a culinary town that always promises surprises, and I've held off reviewing just a few restaurants here, waiting for something truly special. Roberto's Deluxe was at the top of that list, and it did not disappoint. From the moment I arrived for Sunday brunch, I realized this was not going to be your typical eggs-and-mimosas affair. The menu leaned more towards lunch than brunch, which, while unexpected, felt like a deliberate choice. If brunch is about indulgence, Roberto's achieved it in their own way. I began with oysters--a dozen, three of each variety on offer. The Macintosh and Sons from Georgia were my personal highlight, their briny sweetness a perfect match for the slightly unconventional mignonette. It wasn't trying too hard to stand out but had a subtle elegance that lingered beautifully on the palate. The freshly grated horseradish added just the right kick. For the table, I ordered coleslaw. Yes, coleslaw. It's a polarizing dish, but Roberto's rendition struck a balance between familiarity and flair. Creamy yet bright, it whispered of tradition while teasing with nuances I couldn't quite pin down. It was an unexpected star. As for my main, I took a risk and ordered tuna tataki over glass noodles--a choice I might hesitate to make again for brunch but appreciated for its insight into Roberto's culinary range. The flavors were clean and well-executed, if not entirely what my brunch cravings desired. Still, it showcased the kitchen's versatility and finesse. I also sampled the chowder fries--a creative, seafood-inspired take on poutine. Creamy chowder replaced the usual gravy, weaving the dish into Roberto's seafood-centric identity. They were indulgent and impossible to stop eating, the perfect table-sharer that hinted at whimsy without losing sophistication. The kitchen's work was flawless, each dish arriving with precision and care. The Back of House team clearly knows their craft. However, Front of House was slightly less polished. While service was friendly and attentive, there were noticeable differences in the servers' level of training and etiquette. It wasn't disruptive, but the experience could be elevated with more cohesive service. Despite these minor hiccups, Roberto's Deluxe lived up to my high expectations. This is a restaurant that knows its strengths and leans into them with confidence and creativity. I'm already planning my return visit--and next time, I might bring an even bigger appetite.

Yelp
Snuck in for the first time during Happy Hour. Sat at the counter to take in the view and preparation of food, and wasn't disappointed. Ordered a bottle of rosé to complement our meal. Oysters were delicious! Fresh and flavorful for the chef's choice. I would love to go back and try their variety. Chowder fries were tasty. Fries could have been cooked longer, but if they were covered in cheese, then no complaints. The slaw on the Mahi sandwich was well seasoned. The fish was delicate and cooked appropriately. I was very pleased with the offerings. Our server--maybe Kim (sorry!)--was attentive and polite.

Yelp
Sorry it has taken me so long to review one of go to spots in DT Woodstock. Go for the oyster bar, stay for the service, the outdoor seating or the amazing entrees. It never disappoints.

Yelp
Lovely addition to Woodstock! We had a nice time sitting on the porch. Alex took great care of us, loved he cleared all the plates and keep the table clean. Water refilled too! The oysters were soooooo good! The top one on their list Was my favorite. We all ordered one drink, I loved the avocado salad with grilled shrimp, the swordfish was really good and the steak was cooked Perfect. They provide buttery rolls complementary which were good and we even split the berry Sunday dessert which wasn't too heavy and everyone enjoyed the sweet bite. The restaurant seemed really busy. The service was great. The food was good. The price was a little high, but that just seems to be the going right nowadays. There is three of us and it was close to $200.

Yelp
So. Good. Everything was fantastic beginning to end. The mulled wine old fashioned was spectacular. The spiced gin drink yum. The short rib ravioli so yum. I'd maybe skip a salad next time. The grouper was excellent. So good. The scallops were delicious but the presentation equally as good. The blueberry cheesecake was...next level. 5/5. 10/10. The service was impeccable. David was lovely but the entire staff was great. Go. Now. You will love it. I cannot wait to go back.
google avatar

Nadia A.

Yelp
Everything on the menu looks amazing! The noodle salad was light and delicious. The blackened fish sandwich was overcooked so we sent it back but service was amazing and we quickly got a new order. The octopus is a must! I will definitely be back

Yelp

Yelp
Love Roberto's. The service is exceptional and the food is very tasty. Good variety and price decently. Have been back a few times.

Yelp
The food was great! I was expecting at least one thing to miss the mark, but it was all fantastic - the blackberry sangria, hush puppies, swordfish, tiramisu, espresso martini.. all really good stand alone items. The lighting was a bit brighter and more harsh than expected, but the cooks have to see what they're doing! Our server did a good but not great job, but all the employees were really hustling! Will deff have to come back.

Ethan S.

Yelp
Typical fancy food , tacky restraunt name , over priced , small portions !!!!!!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Khadia N.

Yelp
Amazing food! The seafood was fresh and the options were unique. The cocktails were magnificent! Highly reccomend!

Holly P.

Yelp
The drinks are watered down- Also, way overpriced. I've heard it from almost everyone who has been there. I wanted to see for myself. Something's up. Isn't that illegal? I heard the other new restaurant this establishment owns, the Mexican joint- Polama does the same thing. Watering down their liquor. Wtf?
google avatar

Yelp
HAPPY HOUR WARNING--If you are going for their 12 raw oysters special, please note it is only for the Arrowhead oysters. After looking at the menu on their website, I was excited to get the happy hour special for twelve Murder Point oysters. However, I couldn't and I was too embarrassed to simply walk out. This was troublesome since the regular price per oyster was the same and the entire raw bar menu fluctuates by $0.50 per oyster. My server was great but after spending nearly 50% more than planned, I'm not so happy. Highlight was the Parker house roll.

Yelp
Newly open, there are a few kinks to work out. Overall, it was very nice - for sure pricey but I would go back. Any issues were quickly addressed and rectified. All food was delicious and portion sizes small, but just the right amount. This is a sister company to Prime 120. The pricing reflect this. The calamari was very good. The oysters great, but $3 an oyster. My table had the burger, low country boil, red fish, and the scallops. Everything we ate was delicious and the drinks even better. We enjoyed a seasonal sangria. The birthday cake for my birthday was a wonderful touch. I was surprisingly way too full to order my own dessert! It was noisey and a little warm. I do not think the engineers accounted for the open kitchen and the heat that would produce. It was still comfortable. We sat in the back near the door to the patio, which allowed a fly or two in. I'd love to go back when the weather gets cooler. There was even a little bar area with two tvs. The bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking around, especially once construction of surrounding buildings is complete. The restaurant is behind the new Starbucks and before the Pelican Snowcone if coming from the depot area of Woodstock. There is a Kale Me Crazy being built and other cute shops. Overall, a wonderful addition to Woodstock and easily accessible by golf cart via Main Street.

Yelp
Roberto's Deluxe lives up to its name- it is truly a DELUXE experience. Every dish was not only delicious, but unique and presented beautifully. The level of service is comparable to that of any Michelin rated restaurant I've been to. Definitely ask for Michael. As an oyster enthusiast, I'm happy to know I can sneak away from home and sit at a bar for a quick bite. Woodstock desperately needed an elevated seafood house, and this place delivers!
google avatar

Yelp
This new spot in Woodstock is fantastic. Our server Liv recommended a bunch of items that helped us narrow down our choices. We ate so quickly that I didn't have a chance to take photos, but we got the blackberry spritzer and blood orange spritzer as drinks (super flavorful and refreshing) and the octopus as an appetizer. It is soooo flavorful but heads up, it has a kick. Our entire meal was the shrimp fettuccine, American red smaller, avocado green goddess salad, tuna tartar, double cheeseburger, Scallops, grilled cabbage, fingerling potatoes, and half a dozen oysters. My favorites were the scallops, tuna tartar, grilled cabbage and the shrimp fettuccine. We were too stuffed for dessert. There is valet for $5 or you can self park in the back of the building and it's a short walk to the restaurant from there.
google avatar

Merri B.

Yelp
I picked this place to celebrate my mom's birthday, who has passed away, because she loved seafood. I made reservations through OpenTable and requested an indoor table. We get there and no tables were available and we didn't want to sit outside so they sat at the bar area overlooking the soups and where they shuck oysters. Since the floor is tiled, the walls were mostly glass, and a concrete ceiling, with the music playing loudly, it was nearly impossible to have a conversation even sitting next to each other. Furthermore, I ordered the lobster roll. It was tasty however, for $42 it was less than the size of my hand with a huge mountain of fries. I had a lobster roll the size of my forearm in Virginia Beach a few months ago and it was half the price. Our waitress was exceptional, so kind and sweet. Having said all of this, I will not go back because it was overpriced, and the ambience was too loud.
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
I loved the staff and the open concept with tons of light. Shout out to Joshua at the bar and Lola on the wait staff for making our first trip memorable. We sat at the counter so we could watch the kitchen crew. I'll say one thing, don't sit at the low counter across from the Real Wood burning stove. Cool to watch, but hot as Hades!! Dang it was hot. Wow. Really enjoyed the selection of raw oysters. We made it a meal of tapas for two. Raw oysters, baked oysters, crispy octopus, kettle of clams and a nice bottle of wine. I personally found the cooked oysters and the octopus way too salty, but tasty. Price point is right for this type of restaurant, no complaints. We will be back and happily recommend this spot for seafood lovers.
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
Literally, the Best Fish Sandwich that I have ever had!!!!!! The fish was fresh and flaky, with a very unique tasting tartar sauce and a very soft Brioche bun!!! I can eat them daily!!!!

Yelp
WOW! Absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service, will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Food was excellent!

Marc C.

Yelp
Why is it that when you go to a place and have an incredible experience, the second time is a 180.... We went to this restaurant back on November 9, and had an incredible experience. The food was good, the service was excellent, and it just made for an overall great night. Atmosphere was right on!! Shift ahead to tonight, made reservations for an anniversary dinner, they didn't even acknowledge that the anniversary was happening, and I had to let the server know, who as not the greatest server I had had. It felt as if she was trying to rush us out of the restaurant, we did not feel comfortable at all. Our reservation was at 7 o'clock, we arrived 10 minutes early only to be seated 15 minutes late. They apologized and gave us a couple of free appetizers, but the appetizers were missing some of the food. They were half serving. Shift ahead to the dinner, I ordered the same thing I did back on November 9, and this time the redfish arrived overcooked and the portion was so small, not compared to what it looked like on November 9. Not sure what happened between then and now, but definitely not the same as it was. Not sure that we will be back, especially at these prices. They have to remember that this is Woodstock not Buckhead. I wish there could be some consistency!

McKay M.

Yelp
Roberto's Deluxe was a delight from start to finish. The atmosphere is fun and fresh. Service by Brandon was excellent and fast. We stopped by for lunch and enjoyed every bite. The ceviche was well balanced with a gentle hint of cucumber. It was a bowl of vibrant summer chilled in a bed of ice. The fingerling potatoes were perfect. Crispy, creamy, salty, savory. Make sure to order them! My daughter had the lobster roll and liked it alot "the bread was toasty and the lobster was tender." This spot is a highlight of Woodstock.

Jeff A.

Yelp
Three of my family dined at Robertos. We found the accomodations to be slim, menu minimal and the service only modest. After being served water, we were never offered other drinks (tea, soda) and could not order wine until the food arrived at the table. On a positive note, the dishes were 'tasty', but not at the level expected for the price or presentation. Lastly, we all had different fish dinners. Although the meals were 'tasty', by the follwoing day, we each had a varying degree of stomach distress. Cannot pin point to the meals, but certainly suspect. Overall, it will be a while if we should return.
google avatar

Toby A.

Yelp
Went here on mothers day and we had the grouper and the halibut but the grouper was dry and over cooked. Service was great but for the money I would like the food to be better. We sat outside and its nice but we did get seated next to the stairwell so its very busy and interrupting while trying to have a nice meal.
google avatar

Dale W.

Yelp
The food, service, ambience - all were fabulous. The oysters are amazing! I had the salmon and my husband had low country boil. Both were so good. T was our server & he was great. We'll be back!

Rick M.

Yelp
Love sitting at the counter watching the crew do their thing. The food is always perfect, and you need to try anything that is grilled, since it done on a real wood fire. The hand made mussels are amazing. Service is excellent and the room is fun and busy! Really love this place. New ice cream store next door too!

Gwyneth J.

Yelp
The server was a bit slow most of the night. We sat down for for a hot minute before he showed up but was also super polite and knowledgeable. - Clams were excellent - service was slow throughout the night - dirty martini was awful. Watered down so I asked for a shot of vodka and olive juice to bump it up a bit and still it sucked. I think they are using canned olive juice made for restaurants and it's really not good - but I could be wrong on that point. Either way skip the martini. - $141 for two people. I ordered oysters at $3+ each. Way over priced. - my husband ordered a lobster sandwich for $45 . Way over priced. - I ordered shrimp fettuccine $34 and it wasn't very big - my wine was average price and I can't remember the price for my watered down martini. The outdoor patio would be great on a warm evening. Personally I would not go again but I understand a bunch other reviewers love it.

Holly S.

Yelp
81 Health Score. No oyster is worth the risk! You may have to drive a minute, but 81...they specialize in seafood.
google avatar

Anthony U.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in the area. Food and service are superior. Great space inside. We have been for lunch twice.
google avatar

J. M.

Yelp
Super cool atmosphere. Food is A+..service is A+. ..bartenders A+. It's a little pricey but you get high quality food and service. Inside and outside dining. Inside you can sit at an alcohol bar...or infront of the raw bar! Super cool. Open kitchen so you can watch the cooks and shuckers work their magic. Highly recommend.

Gladys E.

Yelp
Was excited for the selection of raw oysters have been here several times and the food is very good and tasty The customer service has always been excellent I will be back They are also have brunch on Friday Saturday and Sunday

JK B.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh worth EVERY penny food! Friendly employees & relaxing enjoyable atmosphere. We had the shrimp chowder, kale salad, lobster roll & fish & chips. The BEST! HIGHLY recommend!
google avatar

Zack W.

Yelp
Was warned by a close friend not to visit this place. They were right. Didn't believe him on how strong the manager's cologne was. Big mistake!! Ruined my entire meal! I don't think I'll be visiting again anytime soon! This is supposed to be an oyster bar not a perfume review.

K I.

Yelp
First of all, food and service were great and we like the location. It's great to have a really good restaurant so close - not travel to Alpharetta or even Canton to get delicious food. Secondly, it is a beautiful spot but be aware of you are seated on the right hand side of the bar near the wood fired grill, you will be HOT. The glass partitions- if there is one in front of you - do nothing to deflect the heat. They don't have enough outside umbrellas yet to make it comfortable during the summer to sit out there for an early dinner either. Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Ambiance - 3 stars because of the heat Otherwise, it was a great meal.

Marty S.

Yelp
Excellent evening. Food and atmosphere was wonderful. Oysters delicious I had the salmon and my husband had swordfish with pork belly. Definitely will be back!!!

Greg W.

Yelp
Incredible!!!! Chilean sea bass was amazing, flavored so good. Basmati rice was also delicious. All of my family loved their dishes as well. Daisy was our waitress and she was phenomenal!! Extremely attentive and friendly. She is a true Rockstar. So much support staff that helped her out during the meal. 100% will be back, keep up the amazing work guys.
google avatar

Pam D.

Yelp
My family and I had an amazing dinner at Roberto's last night! The halibut I ordered was done to perfection. The different kinds of oysters were a hit for all of us. We loved sitting outside and our server could not have been more accommodating. I highly recommend Roberta's!

Ellie K.

Yelp
If I have one recommendation...get the oysters! SO good! Service was outstanding. They have a nice outdoor patio with fans. The smoked fish dip was not our favorite. Flavor wasn't good and also wish it was a dip with a side of bread instead of an open sandwich. The rest of the food was decent. Will come back for oysters and drinks for sure!

Jill L.

Yelp
Great addition to downtown Woodstock! It was probably our best meal in Woodstock in the five years we have lived here. We sat outside and it was lovely. They have added a fan and table thingie, which kept the flies away. Both the fish and chips and blackened mahi were excellent. The fries appear hand cut and were just right. And you have to try the hearth corn! Lola was an attentive and friendly server. And there is easy parking.
google avatar

Breia M.

Yelp
I wish I could say I tried the food but we weren't able to try it. We attempted to visit and as we were walking up I could tell the hostess was looking at us kinda funny. I walked up and stated 4 and a high chair. She began slowly grabbing menus when a manager I guess behind her said we don't have high chairs, and the hostess softly echoed the statement. So we left. Looks like a pretty restaurant guess we will try it when we are kid free.
