Yelp
I will be the outlier here. Each of the three times I've been here, the place was packed. The service is very good, and it is obvious they've invested in the decor. Sadly, from my experience, the same cannot be said about the food. I've had their street tacos, their house tacos, and their nachos. Utter disappointment each time. It seems they try too hard to have a gourmet edge and completely overshoot and miss the beauty of simplicity. The first time, I ordered street tacos, the pork belly was delicious enough, but it came falling out the tortilla, creating a mess. The second time, I had the house tacos. They came overly 'condimented' with all sorts of gooey stuff piled on top - so much so that I could barely eat it. This last time, I ordered the plain nachos. who can mess up nachos? Well... They came out cold, with some sort of novelty cheese that wasn't melted, with cold black beans. I tried ti make it work, but gave up. $17. For nachos. cold nachos at that.
This was strike three. I'm out. Granted, by how busy the place was, I won't be missed. Seems many are fine with their cuisine, which is a head scratcher to me. I regularly travel throughout Latin America, and dine on everything from Michelin rated restaurants to street food, and this place.... SMH. I do not understand the hype, and I have certainly tried, but the image they project and the food they serve does not add up.
