Rocco’s Wood Fired Pizza

Yummy food but definitely pricey. A large group of us came in and took over the lounge area the one bartender was very helpful with service throughout the group. The other 2 were not very friendly. Over all we all had a great time. It was very hot in there.

Great place to meet and eat, great service personnel, classy uniformed, stylish environment, different settings for group dining or lounge dining, accommodations for kids. The pizza is high quality and easy to eat, the wings are next level subtly delicious. We have had full Family dining celebrations there always a memorable experience, highly recommend.

I ordered extra crispy chicken wings and they were soggy and tasted horrible. I also doubled checked and asked..”you guys can do extra crispy wings right” she goes yes! Not for nothing but spending 60$ on a pizza French fries and wings I expect A lot better also not for nothing but for the prices you could at least make homemade ranch instead of using that hidden valley garbage

A really fun place! We were not expecting the restaurant to be as large as it was once we got inside. Recommend reservations on the weekend.

We went for early dinner. The restaurant is really nice inside. There’s plenty to order off the menu. I have the fettuccine Bolognese. It was wonderful my wife had the rigatoni à la vodka. She enjoyed that as well. The kids had a small margherita pizza they said it was OK but nothing special. Overall the meal was pretty good. Here’s my only problem. We ordered soda for my wife and kids, it came in bottles. For a fine dining location I thought this was very weird. Definitely felt off. With all the food we ordered over $20 you would think you would have soda in a glass. Overall the service was excellent from Donald G. He was pleasant and polite.

Chicken marsala needs improvement, did not taste the wine and no sauce on the plate. Chicken had no flavor. Pizza not bad, pretty good for what it is.

First time here, for dinner. 7 of us. Fairly busy for a Thursday evening. Our server was very sweet, knowledgeable & attentive. I thought prices a little high , the dinners included nothing extra. My fiocchi pasta very good, would have been better with some garnish or a small chef salad. $28 is a lot for pasta. The butternut ravioli also served with nothing else! &27 Next time may try the pizza & wings

I really love the ambiance and food here. Everything I’ve ordered here including burgers, pizza, mac and cheese etc has been amazing with no complaints. Their service is amazing as well. I’ll always pay attention to how people treat my daughter. They are always the sweetest! Highly recommend!

Made reservations to celebrate a good friend's birthday. When we arrived, first thing I saw was the young man behind the prep window playing on his cell phone. The manager was to the right of both him and I, I looked at the manager and stated that not ever being here before that that was not a good first impression. He looked at me and never said a word, or said anything to the young man playing on his phone in front of customers. We were seated, waited about 10 minutes before our waitress came to our table, figured that it was alittle busy , okay let's get in a drink order. Took another 15 minutes before she came for our dinner order. By the time we actually ordered, a few tables that came in after us had already been served drink and appetizers. When our dinner finally arrived about 60 minutes after being seated, those tables were already finished with their dinners. Did noticed that if you were a regular that they knew, they seemed to spend alittle more time making sure you were being taken care of. Must say that the food was excellent, always looking for a nice restaurant with a wood burning oven. Since it was my first time there, it probably won't be on my go to list, unless someone else wanted to go.

Food was amazing! Ordered meatball pizza, margherita pizza, eggplant parmigiana, Parmesan garlic bread, and cookies. They were all delicious. Server provided excellent customer service! Outside looks like an old place but the ambiance inside is quiet and relaxing and lights are dim. Everything was perfect for our dinner! At the back there's a bar area with lots of tv screen. We stayed at the dining area. Highly recommend their food and ambiance and the server's excellent service! Sorry, I forgot her name.

The food is so good and the ambiance is perfect. It is comfortable and relaxing and the staff is amazing. They have gluten free options that are sooooo good. It is hard to find places that really impress u with gluten free food that is super yummy but they do it here. Do yourself a favour and go here. U wont be sorry.

Rocco's is a great spot for an easy night out. Whether you want a sandwich, pizza, or pasta, you can find it here. We dined here on a Friday night, and it was particularly busy and lively. The vibes were good, and we enjoyed our food. They gave us the wrong pizza, but it was still tasty. overall, it continues to be a good staple in the Clarence/East Amherst area.

We had a great dinner here. Fun atmosphere. Awesome wood fired pizzas with great dough! We really enjoyed the special (can't remember the exact name) steak with pasta; the steak was really good and the gravy/sauce was amazing!!!

Came with friends on a Sunday evening. Most tables were filled but not loud and frustrating like some places. They must have scaled back the menu as I didn't see some of the items that I've ordered in the past. Two of us ordered pizza and one ordered a pasta dish. Friends also ordered fries, cookies and specialty drinks. A decent meal but with the cookies as an exception, I feel that the prices are pretty high for a casual night with friends.

Food, Service outstanding as always! Full house friday night but all was memorable! Presentation, quality of food was excellent!

Awesome Italian experience. The pasta was covered in a delicious bolognese and the chicken Milanese portion is huge and crispy with a big old pile of greens on the plate. Great service at the bar

We used to love Rocco's but they have really increased prices, reduced their pizza size, and have become a more pretentious "high end" restaurant.

Paper thin, luke warm pizza for $60.00. Digiorno makes a better pizza. Got offered a "sorry" and a coupon for our next order (that we likely won't use). Not. Great.

Went to get some pizza and it was amazing, met two of the nicest employees Diane and Bethany! They are amazing! Would highly recommend!

Asked for a black and tan beer, waitress told us they could not make one. Then got our pizza and it looked like they forgot to put cheese on it! Asked the waitress about the lack of cheese. She asked "want me to bring some cheese to sprinkle on your pizza?" Yikes.

We hadn't been back to Rocco's in a while and we were excited to visit and our whole dinner was perfect! First off, the restaurant is perfect for small or large groups. Secondly, our server was awesome helping us with all of our food and drinks. For food, we got a few large pizzas and wings with fries and an eggplant Parmesan to share. Everything was so good and my personal favorite is the oven baked wings. They're like nothing else in the area for wings, I swear! They fall off the bone. We topped the night off with two bro okie desserts for birthdays and this blew everyone away, they were SO good. Can't recommend this enough!

We should have known from the pretentious way the host asked, "Do you have reservations?" It was 5 pm. on Friday, so we understood. Even though the place wasn't even half full, we realized that it would get busy. We were banished to a high top in the bar area. I'm not kidding; the way this guy acted, it was as if it were a 5-star restaurant. Relax, it's a pizza joint. We ordered a wood-fired pizza, chopped antipasti salad, and the worst baked clams oreganata I have ever tasted. The service was very good. The food was mediocre. When we left, the place was still half empty at 6:30 pm. We had fond memories of this place, especially the baked chicken thighs they no longer have on the menu.

My fam and I went for my son's 13th birthday because that's where he chose to go, mainly cause it's his favorite place!!!! The server was amazing, as always, the food was phenomenal, as always, the ambiance was great, as always and we had a wonderful time, as always !!! Thank you to our server who brought out a cookie or two with a candle and she sprayed whipped cream on a plate that said 13! On it ....how adorable and she offered to take our picture as a family....how sweet!!! Literally one of the best places in town! Thank you! You made our day and my son's bday

Went to Rocco's to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We started off with salads, both of which were delicious. I had the Linguini with mussels and my daughter had scallops. The food, service and ambience were wonderful. And the wine at $19 a glass was perfect with my dish. But really, charging for bread when we're paying so much for food and wine, that lost you a star and probably not a customer. BTW, the leftovers from the generous serving of linguini and mussels was still delicious and fresh tasting heated up for lunch the next day!

My friend and I stopped here for a before dinner drink. When we arrived at around 5:30pm on a Friday, the bar was empty. As soon as we sat down, the bar quickly filled up. Get there before 5:30pm on a Friday and you'll grab a seat without a problem. I ordered this tequila and vermouth drink and it was lovely. It was called silver lining. I would come back for that drink alone. Their cocktails aren't listed on the website, or else I'd try to recreate it, but I can't remember all the ingredients. The service was sort of slow, though. We had reservations at a different restaurant and didn't really have time to dilly dally and when we received our drinks, we had to sort of chug them, and couldn't really sip and enjoy them as they should have been sipped and savored. Rocco's is a cool place. I haven't eaten here in years, but I like that it is like a mullet; business in the front, a nice chic, family atmosphere, but then in the back it is a completely party, club style.

I'm no pervert but the one waitress was hot AMAZING FOOD AMAZING SERVICE nice to watch sports at while enjoying a good meal

Rocco's isn't the same anymore. First they stopped serving large pizzas in the dining room. They were only for take out. What??? It was our favorite restaurant until all the changes. We ordered a large loaded pizza the other day for take out bc we missed it so much. It was as flat as a pancake and they cut out lots of ingredients. Even pepperoni is extra on the "loaded."' Good way to run yourself out of business. We won't be back and we were regulars.

This might have been the pizza of my life. I started low-carb after but I've been literally dreaming about this pizza since I had it. We got the traditional with mushrooms - mushrooms were hearty and definitely seasoned - delicious. My only negative- they took away my truffle fries to box them up (love truffles anything) and never came back. :(

We showed up without a reservation. We were told it'd be an hour wait!! We asked if we could go to the bar and were told the bar was full but we could try! The bar was barely filled and easily found a spot at the bar! There were a lot of tables available in the bar area (2 tops and the community tables were empty). Loved the vibe in the bar area! Pizza was great! Marinated wings were ok! The greens and beans with sausage were bland! Service was ok! Once we got our appetizer it took almost an hour to get our entrees! Maybe it was just a bad day but wouldn't rush back!

I'm from Long Island so I have strong opinions on what good pizza is. We ordered the Margarita pizza & arugula pizza. it was really yummy, a fancy little pizzeria. our server was very helpful as well.

What a perfect meal and perfect service. My friends (more like family) took me to celebrate my birthday because there's always something for everyone at Rocco's. And even though some went looking forward to a specific item, the menu had been changed and their item wasn't there anymore, but they still found something else that we all managed to help them consume. There was a lovely Caesar Salad, spinach bread with sauce and truffle fries to start. The bread was fresh and crusty filled with fresh spinach and delicious. The fries were shoe string and crispy yummy. We didn't share the salad but it looked great. I got a white pizza which came with tomato, ricotta, romano, oregano and onions. Thin and chewy crust with a slightly sweet flavor and light. Much lighter than traditional red sauce with heavier toppings. There was another pizza that was divided with peppers on one side and pepperoni on the other. There were several pieces missing before I got to take a picture. Oops. Also on the table was a chicken cutlet milanese sandwich with a side of thick cut fries. And a veil cutlet sandwich I'm not certain of all it's toppings but there was lots of oohs and aahs coming from all around and lots of French fry borrowing off the sandwiches plates by the pizza eaters!! These fries were thick and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which usually doesn't equal the need to steal them but in this case we all made an exception! Finally even though we were truly painfully full we had to try the special which was crispy waffles with sweet cream cheese filling, apple compote and gelato!!! And the other dessert was a brownie with a cookie baked inside it and it was covered in some ice cream deliciousness that we couldn't possibly reach because we couldn't move. Our server was incredibly good at his job. He was attentive and kept everything at a perfect pace. And we never felt rushed. It was a wonderful evening and you could really go casual or dressy as a group of friends, a family or a couple. It's just that kind of place.

Best pizza in Amherst. Smoked chicken wings and sausage pizza are so yummy! We are always happy with our dinner.

Flew in from Austin, TX and was recommended this place not even 15 minutes from leaving the airport so I had to bring my parents in to try it out. Atmosphere was laid back and subtle with an open view of the brick ovens where the pizzas get freshly made Ordered some local beers, hot wings and a large pizza to bring it all together and to my surprise it was just the right amount for the three of us. Amy S., our waitress, was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu and guided us on what would be best. Highly encourage going in and having her give you the best experience you can. So we walk in on a Sunday about 5:40, four of us. The hostess tells us if we want to head to the bar for 5-10 minutes. As we walk through the restaurant, there are 6! Or more tables for 4 available and a couple larger tables too. The hostess arrives at the bar about 15 minutes later and leads us to one of the empty tables we passed on the way in. Our order was taken at 6:16. Easily 6 tables still available. When we have two empty glasses from the drinks we've ordered and finished from the bar, the waitress never asked what we were drinking and didn't bother to bring water. That's okay, I'll simply go to the bar and get it myself. Then when the bill came, the waitress actually charged us for the wine that I had already paid for at the bar! Although you will enjoy your foot at Rocco's, the hassle is what you'll have to determine is worth it or not. I'm a pretty decent cook, so we often go out for the service and if that service isn't half-way attentive, we may never return. Further, I don't see the benefit of seating adult tables intermingled with tables w/ small children. It's just good sense to help create the best environment for all guest. Parents won't feel so stressed over children's behavior and adult only tables can enjoy pleasant conversation without interruption.

First of all I'm going to say the whole "This is buffalo and we don't serve ranch" thing has gone too far. This is the response I got here when I asked for some. So I like ranch with my veggies and fries. Sue me. What if I was from out of town or allergic? What if I wanted it for a salad? It baffles me that a catering business and restaurant wouldn't carry it to accommodate what I believe would be a large percent of customers. But honestly you can serve what you want it's your business sure. But the response from the wait staff was a little condescending for assuming I wanted it for wings. On a positive note - The wings were pretty good I ordered hot and they were closer to medium. Average stars for WNY wings. The pizzas looked good but I wasn't able to try it this visit.

Pizza here is always delicious. My friend was given a regular pizza accidentally instead of gluten free, staff and manager were incredibly apologetic and took it off the bill as well as made her a new GF pizza, free. Yes, a mistake, but handled very, very well.

We've been coming here for a few years- love the pizza. Tonight we ordered pizza for our family of 4 and were shocked when it came out. They no longer sell large pizzas and we didn't realize they switched all of their pizzas to 12 inch. $25 for a 12 inch pizza. It looked like a kids pizza. My family of 4 each had one tiny slice and there were 2 tiny pieces left lol. The waitress told us they could quickly make us a 2nd pizza but honestly $50 for 2 tiny pizzas? LOL no.

We hosted a surprise birthday party here and it couldn't have gone better! The service was fantastic (Diane was incredible to work with while planning), they were incredibly accommodating and food was delicious. We were able to order additional food to be brought out, the bar service was quick and organized, and the section of the lounge area we were able to reserve was perfect! Will definitely be back :)

Been to Rocco's a good handful of times. The atmosphere is awesome. I love the back bar area, dimly lit and intimate, feels upscale. They make a good quality wood fire pizza.. a fairly thin and crisp crust pizza. Some of the specialty pizzas feel a bit busy and overkill. But overall, the pizza is great. It's a little on the pricey side and especially the prices to add toppings on a "build you own" are not competitive at all, $4 per topping on a $25 base plain cheese pizza, c'mon.. Still, you get what you pay for, it's one of the better wood fire places in the area. Over all I would recommend this place, on atmosphere and how friendly and accommodating the staff is alone. A good time!

This was my first time and Rocco's and the pizza is SO good. We got a traditional large and it was more than enough for 2 people. We also got 3 beers, truffle fries, and a "Brookie" (cookie brownie ice cream) and our total was under $70. My take away from Rocco's is nice atmosphere, big bar, and great quality for the value too. I will be coming back.

The food is great. But, can we talk about the restrooms!? Yuck. SMELLS HORRIBLE. I make sure that anytime I come here I do NOT need to use the bathroom! Smells horrible!! You are doing well- Fix the plumbing!!!

Went out of dinner on a Sunday night. When walking in, the pizza ovens and ambiance makes it seem like a cozy upscale pizza place. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We split a large meatball pizza and woodfire wings. The pizza had peppers which weren't too spicy, and the meatballs seemed homemade and flavorful. The wings were pretty disappointing, lacking flavor. It came with a marinara type sauce but overall needed more flavor. I was blown away by the pizza and we were served quickly!

Had a gift card to use for this place so we tried it tonight . So I'd have to say the food was fantastic . We ordered a pizza called the loaded , had veggies and Italian sausage on it , was delicious . We also had the Cesar salad and it was fantastic too .we will definitely be back . The restaurant was super nice inside and the staff were very nice . Well done Rocco , you've gained a regular customer !

SOOOOO disappointed! Rocco's is my "go too" it's my yummy happy place. So this past Saturday our friend was celebrating their 50th birthday. HE LOVES stuffed hot peppers. Everyone was in charge of bringing one of his favorite dishes, from his favorite joints. I took the hot peppers and PROCLAIMED how delicious Rocco's stuffed peppers were. I WAS THE ASSH&)E! They were BURNT...no cheesy deliciousness. COMPLETE TRAINWRECK. Overdone, stuffing melded with top into a coagulated crap show. Not to mention the peppers were paper thin, "WHAT PEPPER?" SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT, not to mention my embarrassment for bringing the travesty. They were thrown away. What a rip off and complete disappointment. Two thumbs down!

I love wood fired pizza and had to try this! We got take out from here and ordered their small Margherita Pizza and their baked wings. I honestly had such a great time eating it that I forgot to document pictures.. This is my type of pizza, thinner crust, not greasy, tasty pizza. It didn't feel too heavy either. I didn't think the pizza had enough basil so I probably should've gotten the "extra basil" option. We also enjoyed their wings - didn't feel as if we over ate. The single portions of wings seemed adequately priced but we felt the pizza was a bit pricey. Despite that - I'll be back because of how much I enjoyed it. I have yet to dine in so this review is limited to take out (they were timely with having our food ready).

Came here with a group and ordered a few large pizzas, wings, salad, and fries to share. Everything we had was pretty good. Pizza - cut into large slices but it's flatbread, so it was easy to eat a few slices :). We got: Fig pizza - (fig, prosciutto, cheese, arugula, etc) which was my favorite! It was sweet and savory and so cheesy! Pulled Pork pizza - sounded better than it was. The piece I got had one, large piece of hard pork on it, so it wasn't what I had expected. Margarita pizza - keep it simple, always a hit! Wings - they have traditional wings and their own version, which sounded more like grilled with a marinade. We had the traditional, they were good not great (I'm ok with that because they're not known for their wings). Truffle fries - shoestring fries with a little oil and hardly any cheese. Wasn't impressed. Drink menu - lots of wines and beers to choose from, including local beers on tap, but no local wines unfortunately. I started with a cocktail, the rose lemonade. It was good. But I wouldn't recommend since it was so small, it was basically 4 sips. :( it was served in a tiny glass of mostly ice. Service- waiter was extremely nice and stopped over regularly. Kitchen was extremely slow. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed even though it was a weeknight.

There's a lot of good pizza in buffalo these days, but I swear people always rate places located in the city, higher than the suburbs. And I'm it's not warranted. This is one of the very best pizzas in all of western NY and probably the very best woodfire/Neapolitan style. Just do yourself a favor and try it. The dough alone has more flavor and crisp than almost any pizzeria around. I could go on and on but just try it. I saw some bad reviews on here and when I read them it's all about service and pricing. I haven't had bad service here ever but as far as pricing, stop comparing it to a pizzeria. It's not a pizzeria, it's a restaurant. If 2 people can go out to dinner and have a absolutely delicious meal, be completely full, have left overs, and it's around $50 (without alcohol) that's a win in my book!

They stole from us. They took our food to box and stole 2 slices from the pies we purchased. I say this with complete confidence, as I am writing this immediately after returning home with our leftovers. This is the reason they earn 1 star in my book. That's unethical to say the least and taking away food we paid for and asked to have boxed. Whether it was our server himself or someone else in the back of the house, I hope they're enjoying the food they didn't pay for. That aside, Rocco's wouldn't deserve more than 3 stars. (I was going to give them 3 stars before noticing they took some of our food.) Rocco is good, but not great. We came here for a Sunday afternoon lunch and the place was empty. Nevertheless, service was sloooooow. Friendly, but slow. We ordered many things: Loaded pizza - This, like much of the meal, was good but not great. It had meatball, sausage, and peppers, but still managed to lack flavor. It's a shame, because it has the potential to be so delicious! Custom pizza - One of my dining companions ordered a pizza and added a bunch of olives and peppers. He was very satisfied with it and sad it was great. Caesar salad - The homemade croutons were good, but the salad was small for the price. The dressing was also very sparse. I hate salads that are loaded down with dressing, but this salad didn't have nearly enough. Chicken Caesar salad - A different dining companion ordered the salad with chicken and liked the chicken and croutons, but agreed that the Caesar dressing/flavor wasn't as strong as it should have been. I will say, however, that both salads were really fresh and green. No gross, wilted leaves in sight! Arancini - Delicious, but absolutely not worth the $12 price tag based on the amount of food you get (AKA one baseball-sized arancini ball). "Kids pasta" - Meh. It's some average spaghetti with sauce. There was also randomly a rogue piece of chicken in there (clearly from a different meal) which was sloppy. They didn't have an official kids menu to show, so you're definitely just overpaying for a smaller version of the spaghetti meal they offer on the menu. When ordering drinks at Rocco's, there are no fountain drinks. Everything is brought out for you in a bottle that you have to pour yourself. It feels very "mediocre pizza joint" esque and it definitely seems tacky given the fact that the establishment isn't cheap by any means. As for cocktails, they're overpriced as well. You're definitely paying for the demographic/area and not the food/quality. $11 for an Aperol Spritz are prices I expect to pay in NYC, NOT Buffalo. I will say that all the food was plated and presented very skillfully. Everything was pretty to look at, it just could have tasted better. Lunch was decent, just nothing I am planning to come back for -- especially since they stole from us. If you're going to Rocco's, ask them to bring the boxes to you and box your food yourself.

Wonderful evening at Rocco's last night! Diane helped me coordinate a night out for our local PTA volunteers and it went so smoothly! Our area in the lounge was ready when I arrived, food served on time, all tasted great and bill was exactly what we discussed prior to event so no surprises. She was easy to get a hold of during planning phases and her guidance on food choices was helpful. She even clearly marked our gluten free food items which was a big help. This is my second year working with Diane and her team and I highly recommend them!

Wonderful spot for a meal, regardless of what you're in the mood for. The dining room is very big, so you can always get a seat. It's size also makes it versatile: sitting by the bar and TVs is a great venue to watch a football game, and the back is perfect for a classy or romantic meal too. The pizzas are consistently great. Today I tried the chicken Milanese, which was phenomenal too - perfect texture, juicy, deliciously breaded.

This pizza!! On occasion we get a take out pie from Rocco's for lunch at work. Today we got the amazing meatball pizza with hot peppers and ricotta drizzle. As usual, it did not disappoint! It took about a half hour during the lunch rush, which was no biggie since we called ahead. The staff was friendly and I only waited a minute longer than the quoted 30 minutes. We'll be back again soon!
