Long-Running Bar and Local Music Venue Rock & Roll Hotel Closes on H Street - Eater DC

"Rock & Roll Hotel, known for cheap mixed drinks and live music, has closed after a 14-year run. The venue ceased all operations immediately, citing rising competition and sluggish bar tabs as reasons for its closure. The venue featured a year-round roof deck and bar. D.C.’s concert scene has grown with new arrivals, but Rock & Roll Hotel could not keep up with the changes in the market." - Tierney Plumb

Cool venue with 3 stories. The 1st floor Has a stage for live music. The 2nd floor has a couple of rooms for private parties with your own bar tender. The rooftop is another spot to gather overlooking the city. Throughout the hotel there's art & rock history. Lots of local food choices within half a block like Sticky Rice, Pow Pow, & the Pie Shop.

Great mid size venue with super staff and super schedule. Bands play on the first floor djs on 2nd floor and a rooftop deck on the third Food is decent if you are in need of a bite before or after the show. They used to have bathrooms on the first floor but now you can’t use them during shows. Kind of annoying that you have to go upstairs to use the restroom while the band is playing. But it’s not the worst thing ...

The sound system was A1 considering all of the wild sounds going on for the show I was at. The bar was reasonably priced and we had no issues picking up tickets from the box office. I nabbed a spot pretty close to the stage so I can't speak for being further away from the stage, but I enjoyed my view

Loved seeing two small indie bands, the stage was raised a bit, high enough for me to see. Don't bother looking for parking, I took Uber from Union station to the venue and back. Drinks were pretty good, and merchandise tables being upstairs was really helpful for not crowding the band at the end if the show. A fun place, would definitely go back again.

Very fun venue. Good drink prices and it was fun to be able to go to the second floor after the show.

It's a small venue but it's good for small shows, the best thing is that you can meet up with the bands easily upstairs and there's a bar upstairs as well as downstairs. Overall its small and alright.

Seen some of my favorite bands there! The venue is intimate and dark, but clean and the staff are very helpful and attentive.

Venue is small but perfect for smaller concerts. Beer was relatively cheap and the artists they bring in are great.
