Indoor roller rink with skate rentals and free lessons

"Opening Monday, Nov. 26 above the Commercial Center’s Sahara Events Center, this adult-focused venue revives the retro skating-rink experience with a restaurant serving comfort food, classic cocktails, live music, and roller skating. Owner Darren Corsatea teamed with local hospitality consultants Rx2 to create a menu that includes shareable beer-cheese sliders; the Devil’s Down South burger topped with pulled pork, applewood-smoked bacon, sweet-and-spicy slaw, and smoky house barbecue sauce; a cinnamon pork chop seasoned with a house-made cinnamon rub and served with Angry Apple Cider compote; plus fish and chips, a BLT, a chopped chicken sandwich, grilled salmon, a rib-eye steak, and an assortment of burgers and salads. Diners can also order shareable vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate milkshakes. Drink highlights are playful beer-and-shot pairings—such as an Old Fashioned Beer with Bulleit, Blue Moon backed by an Old Fashioned shot made with Bulleit Rye, and a “Stella and Tom” (a pint of Stella paired with a Tom Collins shot). The historic rink, which previously hosted acts like Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doors, Carlos Santana, and Led Zeppelin, reopens for open skating Fridays and Saturdays (4–8 p.m. all ages; 8 p.m.–midnight 21+), with $10 admission and $5 skate rentals. The facility also offers Duckpin bowling, a redesigned snack bar with snacks, beer and wine, and social games including beer pong, darts, pool, and classic board games, plus free live music on Fridays and Saturdays and an open jam on Tuesdays at the upstairs stage." - Susan Stapleton
