Good experience. Micheal was our service and he was perfect. Drinks and food came at a perfect time. I ate the Rock Elm Burger which was juicy. Fries were great. My Stella’s was good. My mother ordered the Brisket Taco which we both very much enjoyed (got it without cheddar). We will be back when in the area for more tacos and cheese curds. Thank you!

Jill Pavlak

Google
The food is delicious. Excellent beer selection- especially like the Cowbell Cream Ale. Enjoyed a tasty mocktail. And they donate to worthy non-profits! If we lived near Rock Elm, this would be our neighborhood joint!

Anna Mier

Google
The food is good A delicious burger, the signature tots are fantastic. It is pretty expensive. 17+ for a burger. i got take out for one person and it was 50$. The decor is pretty boring. The broccoli skae is good too but not worth the extra $ to order it

Google
Service was great! Food was good. Got a bacon cheeseburger and it was just that. And the brisket taco was good. The toppings and the sauce made the taco as the meat was a bit on the dry side, yet oozed grease. Cheese curds were super good.

Google
Patio is really nice, food was mediocre. It would have been nice to have some butter for my English muffin but the waiter never came back until I was finished with my food to see if I needed anything, however he was very attentive prior.

Google
One of my favorite spots to grab a bite! I have never had a bad experience at Rock Elm! The service is top tier. Food always hits the spot whether it’s for a light dinner like a good salad or app, or steak or pasta. They have great weekly specials! Save room for dessert because me and my boys are NEVER disappointed. Most recent visit we had Jonah as a server, pesto pasta, brisket melt, kids burger, and the strawberry crunch cheesecake dessert special. Chefs kiss. See you soon!!

Google
Just an FYI, Rock Elm is not your typical bar food, case in point, the hummus was quite elevated & accompanied by a bright little cava hit the spot. Shout out to bartender Cooper who made multi tasking on a busy evening look easy. Great food, great service, warm vibe.

Google
went here for a family dinner, great american restaurant! we ordered the mushroom swiss burger, pesto pasta, buffalo shrimp, and steak. all were good (especially the burger!!) except the pesto pasta, which had a very strong grassy taste and was chunky. environment was nice, albeit a bit cold and noisy.

Yelp
The food was very good here, and I thought the value was reasonable. We really enjoyed the patio seating, it's enclosed nicely with foliage, but there is still quite a bit of road noise with it being so close to HWY 55. The service was friendly, and overall I would certainly recommend this place. They had a lot pretty good variety of options on their menu, while keeping it to one page to make the choices feel simple. I would certainly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Good happy hour spot Untappd verified and badge They could rotate more They have a progressive happy hour every day from 3 to 6 depending on how early you can get there. $4 off beers, spirits, wines, starters & wings from 3 to 4! Amazing deal! $3 off from 4 to 5. $2 off from 5 to 6. I work nearby so have only been able to indulge in the bottom tier 5 to 6 prices. They have had an Untappd Badge as long as I can remember. Slowly leveling up on it. They give you a free ten ounce beer for every even numbered level up on Untappd. The first time they let me use it on any beer. The second time it was more restricted as to what I could choose from. The food has been hit or miss for me. I definitely recommend the Mahi Mahi Tacos!

Yelp
Checked out Rock Elm for a late lunch! Sat outside on the beautiful open patio. Tons of seating in the shade and the sun! Boneless wings- honestly tasted like cut up chicken fingers. Couldn't really taste the lemon ranch dry rub. Bloody Mary- pretty good but only served with an olive and a lime with a beer chaser. VAT 19 burger- really good! Lots of fresh arugula on it. Fries were ok. Watermelon salad- so yummy and the watermelon was very good this day! I would recommend getting some protein on it to make it more filling. Also a great thing to share! Our server was great and talkative and recommended a few things to us! Checking in on us and very cheerful! Service was quick!

Yelp
I live in Golden Valley and was excited to finally check out this place! I've always been hesitant because the prices are pretty high for tavernesk food, but if you're looking to treat yourself I'd say the quality was well worth it! My partner had the Dry Heat Burger. He NEVER compliments food, and said it was great! It wasn't too messy and packed a punch. I had the beef Stroganoff ravioli. Holy cow - two of my favorite things combined for this absolutely delicious meal. We also split the boneless wings. Well worth it! The sauce was tasty but not hot. They were crunchy which I loved! And the ranch on the side??? I need more of it next time for sure! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The speed of the service was super fast! There was no wait on a Thursday night, though it was busy! Drinks were expensive too, but they had a great selection of beers on top. Overall would visit again for another date night!

Yelp
Excellent service. Beautiful space. Great food. Main fair was burgers and fries which looked amazing. The other half of our group ordered veg tacos or salads. All were delicious and large portions! Triple chocolate cheesecake was divine. 100% would go back again.

Yelp
Had a client lunch here and enjoyed the place very much Menu had good options I had the squash salad and added salmon for the protein A bit expensive as I think the meal was $ 20 but didn't seem outrageous Staff was pleasant and attentive The outdoor space looked nice with little lights which I always enjoy Tucked into a strip mall and right off the highway so easy spot to get to stop in if you are in the area!

Yelp
Great service, app happy hour is very reasonable and good. The patio is big and not noisy as it is by the highway

Yelp
First, I loved the vibe. You walk in past the entryway to an open bar area with big windows, or there is an option to sit outside in a large patio that is still seemingly secluded from the busy traffic nearby. It was warm and welcoming and the service was top notch- our server, the manager and someone from the kitchen- everyone was working and helping each other even though it wasn't particularly busy for a lunch. That kind of team work is outstanding. The soup of the day was a miss for us, it was a broth with some veggies and possibly rice or potato bits and was bland. Our burger and French dip was good and a good size for lunch. He had the Vat 17 with tator tots that look like hush puppies and I had the French dip, which was very good with the toppings. I enjoyed the atmosphere and service and the food was good, I would definitely go back for another try.

Yelp
Busy place! Great service! Loved the tots! They aren't anything like the ones you had in your school lunch as a kid. I promise they are waaay better! Stick with the burgers though. The fish was thin and dry. The beet salad was just ok. (Obviously I am not a meat eater... and this is a meat eater place.) Fun vibe in a neat part of town. Next time there are still a couple veg things I can try. I will probably be back. Just not the top of my list.

Yelp
Nice decor for a suburban joint. Our waiter was great, prompt, attentive, good suggestions. Loved the Chilequiles, mahi tacos and breakfast sandwiches tacos. The Gouda hash browns were killer too! Great tap selections, this place is a winner.
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch on a Saturday They were understaffed but not real busy around noon. Took a long time for service once we were seated. I was looking forward to some Gouda hash browns. They were undercooked and cold. Eggs were over cooked and cold. No offer of jam or butter for toast. Hubby ordered biscuits and gravy - biscuits were rock hard- thank goodness for the side cup of extra gravy. Very cold feeling inside- they should add some warmth in the bar area to have a cozy feel. Luckily, they didn't ask how everything tasted. We've been here a handful of times and are not coming back.

B B.

Yelp
Our server, Matthew, was outstanding. There when we needed him....left us alone when in deep conversation. My hummus/veggie app was yummy though few shrimp on top were "limp" - frozen prior to cooking?? Hubby loved his chicken entree. Came with Brussels sprouts, which he hates, so bonus for me! They brought him nicely seasoned fresh green beans as a substitute, which he loved. Hard to find much on the menu that you may want to eat, if you don't want a burger.

Yelp
Nice restaurant. Food was good. Nothing really special about the food. Went for happy hour. Was shocked at the prices. Ridiculous. Had 2 glasses of wine, split chips and guac/queso with my friend and a bowl of soup. My bill with 20% tip was just under $50. The wine happy hour prices are not any deal. $11/$12 per glass is not a deal. I will not be back. So many better happy hours.

Yelp
Tasty food Good motto Good deeds Fast and friendly staff Nice Rustic atmosphere Happy place I want to go there

Yelp
Ambiance is good, a low key place with good sound management. The service is nice and prompt, got my food quickly. I had the Desert Heat burger, you can feel the heat but cannot really taste it over the other items on the burger. The burger was requested mid-rare but was not brought out as such. I also had the sweet potato fries which were fresh and crispy. I was not informed of the up charge for the fries, I figured there was one so I didn't mind, but keep it it mind. Around $23 without tip for a burger, fries, and a soda, with the $2 up charge for the sweet potato fries. Overall a decent place to go for lunch and dinner.

Yelp
We went as family during the week night; the food is good. Kind of a the pricy side for a burger that is good but not anything to write home about. Service was great they were friendly and quick. Family friendly and it was pretty busy when we stopped in.

Yelp
Food was good but I really felt it was over priced. Breakdown: Mic golden light $5 for happy hour French dip $17* Tater tots $3* Key lime pie $10 * I did not realize the French Dip did not come with anything else. I was asked if I wanted Fries, tots, and a few other items. I guess I am just used to having a side with a sandwich. The tots were extra. I must not have paid attention to the menu if it was listed. The French Dip was good but overpriced at $17 for just the sandwich. Same with the key lime pie, although good, the slice was quite small for $10. They also charge a wellness fee of 1.99 (1 person) My bill totaled $39 + 20% on the bill ended up to be $46. This was the first and last time I will go here. The biggest issue I have is this is a bar, it is not a foodie type place like Cafe ENA or Boarders pasta. Those places can charge that because you are paying for ambiance and amazing food. It was quite loud if you are next to the bar which is where we were. Just be aware of the prices.

Yelp
Rock Elm has great seating outside, just watch out for the mosquitoes when the sun goes down . Our waitress was very attentive and conversational providing us her recommendations when we asked. The VAT 17 burger which contains white cheddar cheese, candied bacon and a garlic aioli was right on point. Loved it. Oh and the fries were on point with a nice crispy outside and soft in the center with ranch dipping sauce. The starter house made tots were good but too different from your regular tots for me to think of them as tots. They were more like deep fried creamy balls with a rich brown crunchy skin that you dipped in a tomato cheese sauce. Try this menu out, because they are challenging the typical tavern/pub menu.

Yelp
I was very lucky to get an early preview of the new Rock Elm menu and wow. Color me very impressed. I'd first like to thank our server Michael, he was outstanding and really elevated our experience here. And as for the food, I was very pleased with it. For an appetizer we ordered the cheeseboard which was filled with goodies and honestly I could've just had this as my meal that's how good it was. But, I did order the walleye fish and chips, while my friend ordered the Rock Elm burger. I wasn't overly impressed with the fish and chips but they definitely weren't bad and I did enjoy them. My friend looooved the Rock Elm burger. And because we just had to try it, we ordered the Rhubarb Tart for dessert. There's also bacon chunks inside the tart and like oh my god. It was heavenly. So amazingly good. Anyway, I'd say my faves were the appetizer and the dessert hands down. I want to go back and try their smoky Mac and cheese!

Yelp
I enjoy coming in here for lunch when I have to make visits to the county office down the street. Lunch service is always fast and I like that they have a decent menu for its lunch offering. On my most recent trip, I tried the blackened chicken sandwich and upgraded to the homemade tots. Man, those things are excellent. If you like potatoes and cheese, these are for you. The dipping sauce that is made for them is also tasty. Wings are also delicious!

Yelp
Holy yum! Came to Rock Elm specifically for the Burgers. I'd seen a post where a boatload of people said they have the best burgers. Decided I'd be the judge of that, and off to rock elm we went. My fiancé had the vat17 burger which was specifically named in the post I'd seen. He loved it. I tried it and also liked it. I ordered the bacon blu and was NOT disappointed. Absolutely delicious. Worth every calorie. If you're on the fence about this place, let me vouch for their burgers. They're delicious!

Kris L.

Yelp
I have lived in Plymouth for nearly 30 years and have been going to Rock Elm since it opened. What historically was a neighborhood gathering place where friends and I could find our favorite wines, a few select favorite dishes, and reliable service has lost its flare. The wine list is mediocre (nothing drawing us there anymore). The food quality has become meh. The new menu items are pretty basic. The best menu items are gone. I ordered a strawberry spinach salad tonight and honestly, it had just one strawberry sliced on it... had to ask for more strawberries. Server mentioned they were adjusting to a new menu :) unfortunately our long history of going there may be at its end :(

Aneesa K.

Yelp
I thought I DID write a review! Such a good place. Family owned their 5 th year! Keep them busy. Super friendly, efficient, delicious. I had the Vat 17- yum! And their tator tots to DIE FOR. Would love to get back there.

Yelp
Really good food made from scratch. Nice ambiance. Nice patio. Staff is really good, but sometimes slow when they're packed.
google avatar

Ronald R.

Yelp
I like me this restaurant its location and the menu suites my palate. I would definitely recommend for first timers to try .
google avatar

Dennis K.

Yelp
It's a little expensive for what it is...but it's also one of the few good and reliable options in Plymouth. So that's worth something. I find the food highly variable. Sometimes if feels like it is chef inspired. Other times it seems like they bought some pre-made cakes, drizzled a sauce over it, and charged $8 a slice. But, the service is always great. Everyone is friendly. There's always a good crowd, but you can usually get seated. And there aren't many options if you're looking to do dinner and a movie in beautiful, cosmopolitan, Plymouth Minnesota.
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
Great little burger spot. Good service, pleasant ambiance. The Buffalo wings are quite flavorless or maybe it's that Minnesota spicy you hear of... the old fashioned is a strong pour and worth the price. Like to stop here when we're in the area but I prefer the Maple Grove location.

Yelp
Rock elm tavern is a really chill place to go food comes out fresh 10 out of 10 well recommended

Yelp
They have happy hour twice a day, 4-6 and then 9-close. That is a great benefit, and the items are varied. Unfortunately, Rock Elm falls short on execution and flavors. I have been here for happy hour, both earlier in the day and late night, as well as the burger special day, and also to try the steak. DO NOT GET THE STEAK. I asked for rare, and got medium with about 1/3 fat and 2/3 overcooked meat. Unhappy. And honestly, this was the worst of the meals that I have had here. If you are coming to Rock Elm, then get the burgers. The Rock Elm Tavern burger was delicious, and actually executed medium rare. Tender, fluffy and perfect textured bread to encase a paddy of hamburger with a nice pink center and still juicy. The arugula, cheese and mushrooms and candied walnut aioli gave a perfect bite of savory, peppery with the arugula, earthy, and tangy with the aioli and cheese. Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend the tavern fries, which are really hollowed out potato skins then baked or fried and yet, still a bit soggy. For the execution of food, the fact that I've been here about 4 times and only found one or two meals with absolute satisfactory, and yet the excellent service, I give 3 stars.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
The service today was much better from 4 weeks ago. I can now leave a five-star review out of five stars. The food has always been good. The wait staff was more attentive and had excellent service. I liked their happy hour prices for guacamole for $5, I feel that was a great value for guacamole. We recommend for happy hour we will go again for happy hour. Happy hours 3-6pm $5 drinks beer and appetizers.
google avatar

Jim E.

Yelp
The food, service & setting was great. Seemed busy but we didn't wait long for our food, waiter continued to check in throughout our dinner. Wide variety of food to choose from menu.

Keith E.

Yelp
This is the nearest bar/restaurant to us. Neighbors rave about it. We've gone 3 times in the last year or so. Service is good, place is usually always busy. The food is OK but not great, or wasn't for us. And it's pricey like most places today. I would go back but for the same or less money, there are some other places on the west side of town that I would rather go.

Tiffany V.

Yelp
The house made tots were really good, the pesto cavatappi not so much. I've had excellent service each time I've been in.

Terri G.

Yelp
Good food, but a little too pricey. Service is always great. It's the local favorite, so get there early or expect to wait.

Yelp
The ambience is great. I would prefer to have more displays/TVs. Food was awesome. This is the only restaurant in my life who gave a perfect double scotch and a single scotch on the rocks. Highly recommend this place for foods and to hangout with friends and families.

Yelp
I love this place. Great local spot for drinks, food. Great staff Vat 17 Burger is realer than real-deal-Holyfield

Yelp
Last night I was invited to the Exclusive Preview at @rockelmtavern in Plymouth to sample the menu and get eyes on restaurants beautiful refresh. Rock Elm gave the interior a little GLOW UP & is bringing the menu back to it's roots with elevated tavern fare. They Are distinguishing @rockelmgrove and @rockelmtavern to simply provide different experiences. You will always find the environments warm & hospitable. Serving up scratch food with a craft bar. While being centered around supporting the local communities. The burgers are always well made. I tried the Rock Elm Burger and the Vat 17. The combo of the roasted mushrooms and candied walnut aioli are a knockout. On the Vat 17 the white cheddar seals the deal for me. A nice sharp cheddar is my favorite type of cheese. And those Sticky Ginger Wings we had for an app were fire! Rock Elm has a several flavors of wings and I can't wait to go back and try more. : STICKY GINGER Wings sauced, hoisin glaze ROCK ELM BURGER montamore cheese, roasted mushrooms, candied walnut aioli, arugula VAT 17 BURGER Deer Creek Vat 17, white cheddar, arugula, candied bacon, roasted garlic aioli

Marko L.

Yelp
Service was great except for the the part the manager decided to harass my friends and I because we are younger and had hats promoting our friends cannabis business she was rude and pressing us and asking what our intentions. I do not recommend you eat here as you may also be harassed unless you're dressed like a red neck hick. I do not and will not recommend this spot to anyone!
google avatar

Stacey D.

Yelp
The story around here are the burgers. My husband got the dry heat burger. He really enjoyed it and was very resistant to sharing. He was disappointed that the cheese wasn't more melted. We looked at other burgers around the bar and they all had the same half melted cheese. I decided on the turkey club. Overall it was good - nothing mind blowing. Upon our next visit, I'll probably stick to trying out another burger off the menu! The bar has a good selection of drinks to pick from, including many taps from local breweries. Large parking lot in front!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous beef rib but i guess they don't have it anymore We were all happy with our meals
google avatar

Philip C.

Yelp
Great menu!!! Great service. The bar area is very friendly, as are the servers. Deserts are delish.
google avatar

Cindy O.

Yelp
Service is great...except for the two hosts who look rather disgruntled for having to seat you or say goodnight/thank you for coming. Food is so-so. The home made tots are delish, but the Vat Burger was not what I remembered. It used to be the best burger I have had. What I was given was dry and tasteless...it almost made me cry after a few bites because it wasn't like it was before. The burger was suspicious like the ones you get frozen at Costco...perfectly round with no crispy edges. I mean it wasn't horrible but it definitely wasn't the same. What is with the $3.00 Wellness tack-on? I don't know if it is to do extra cleaning or helps to provide health insurance for their wait staff.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Took out whole family there for supper. Excellent food little on the spendy side. They only had one stake option my son had it. It was like butter in your mouth. The rest had burgers they were very good.

David A.

Yelp
Rock Elm is a fantastic restaurant in Plymouth. Great menu, service and decent prices. Decor is trendy and they have a great patio space. Great bar area with plenty of high tops and even a space in the back for for larger groups. Rick Elm is the place to go in Plymouth to be with your friends and meet new ones.
google avatar

Ramya K.

Yelp
Very good burgers. I noticed the increase in price since my last visit. The service was very good. I wish they would add a few more seafood and vegetarian items to their menu. Nice atmosphere for a get-together lunch or dinner with friends and family.
google avatar

Blayr A.

Yelp
This is a step above your average tavern, in my opinion. Covid19 guidelines are followed and this family of four couldn't have felt more safe during a pandemic. Ryann was our server and she was very accommodating. Although they did not have a cherry coke as an option she made one - and it was delicious. Jason was the Manager on duty and he came over and greeted our family. Very pleasant and easy to talk to. I had the Rock Elm burger which was great. My wife had The beyond meat Rock Elm and our two kids had grilled cheese and buttered noodles. We all thought the food was great and will be back! If you're in the Plymouth area. . TRY IT!
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
So many good things on the menu. I always order the Brussels sprouts and a different main dish. Braised tacos are delish, Vat burger mouth watering, watermelon burrata salad hits the spot. Really you cannot go wrong with anything. Good drink selection too! The MN spicy drink (cannot remember the exact name) and G and Tea are awesome. Perfect local spot for lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Montessahall H.

Yelp
While this place has a nice decor and outside dining option the food is mediocre at best. The waitstaff were attentive and eager to please. I was intrigued by the Scallop Taco. It is nearly impossible to get decent, fresh seafood in land-locked Minnesota. This dish was an epic fail. The scallops smelled foul and were on the verge of rotten plus the were under cooked. Not enough good about this place to make me want to go there again.
