AVOID FOR KARAOKE! TERRIBLE "DJ"! FEMALE, 40S?
I invited my friends out and told them I knew this really good spot. I would go there often with my Husband. We LOVE karaoke! They all arrived (all 10 of them), and we ordered drinks. The first part that had taken me back a bit was finding out that we now had to pay the DJ $5 if we wanted to sing for the night. Then, once you signed up you were not allowed to sign up twice until you had sang your first song. This left some confusion. So, my Husband said "I signed up and then I also signed you up so we can sing a duet". I was excited. I went up after about 5 songs, signed myself up to do a solo and the DJ started to yell at me saying I needed to pay her. I explained that my Husband paid for me already. She then proceeded to say that I am not allowed to sign up because I have my name already written down for the Duet. I explain those are two different situations and that there would definitely be at least 30-45 minutes between the two. She scoffed at me, rolled her eyes and said "write it". I went back to my seat. An hour went past and I still have not sang my solo. I gave it another 30 minutes.. Then my friend who just signed up, was up to sing. The problem is that now, I have spent two hours waiting to sing my song. I was finally in queue after 10 minutes. My friends were already calling their Ubers, and I had just enough time to sing and then we would all leave. Once I was finally up, she threw my name back on the bottom of the list. Heated, I went up to her and asked what happened. I explained all of which I had just typed on this post. She very rudely and aggresivly said "I told you already!!!- You are not allowed to sing until everyone else has!! I said I would have to put you on the bottom of the list!!". Then I asked what system she had in place to account for "being on the bottomw of the list", considering that I had just been queued to sing next. She started yelling at me, throwing her hands in the air- I cut her off and said that her way of doing business unprofessional. We brought in soo many customers. I waited- they ALL waited for me-spending even morreeee $$ on drinks to kill time. Tactic??? Idk. Also- I forgot to mention that in between waiting over the 2 hours, she would yell at the customers after their song screaming for them to give the mic back (which was attached by a wire and the song would literally just be diminishing). Another situation was she took a mic from a customer, snatching it aggressively because she wanted to give an English lesson to us saying that Lady Gagas " You and I" was improper and she hates when people choose to sing that song because it drives her crazy. I have more, but you get the point. Long story short, we all left. What was supposed to be a night out with friends turned into dud. So many missed opportunities. 10000 out of 10 never going back and never recommending again. YOU LOST LOYAL CUSTOMERS. GOOD JOB.
