Best Indian Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"At this Round Rock restaurant, find Southern and Northern Indian food, including goat and mutton dishes to pakoras (fritters), spicy fried fish to tandoori (grilled meats), paneer entrees, and dosas (savory thin South Asian pancakes basically). The menu covers practically every corner of cuisines found in the country, and even offers unique drinks inspired by places beyond India’s borders, like the Irani Chai, made with a black tea from Iran and mixed with boiled milk and sugars for a distinctively different and delicious taste. Expect plenty of tables should you go to dine in, or rock out and order in with Uber Eats and Doordash." - Deven Wilson

I am on a work trip and wanted to try new restaurants. I found this place after searching Round Rock restaurants on Instagram. Ritu, our sever was kind, responsive, quick, and offered great suggestions. The food was so delicious! We ordered chicken lollipops, goat curry, schezwan style chicken fried rice, and garlic cilantro naan. Everything we ordered was great! The food is a bit spicy, but I like spice, and they allow you to pick mild, medium, or hot. I’ll definitely return here when visiting the area again.

If you ask people where to get good Indian food in Austin, Rock N Grill inevitably comes up in the conversation. I know, I know, it's in Round Rock, but after visiting them for lunch for the first time, the hype machine for their cooking is spot on. I love Indian food. From the North and South and West and East.  I love the country's spice profile, and I love the heat of their dishes.  I always laugh when they tell me a dish may be too spicy...bring it! I came alone, so I was only able to try a few items.  I had the Gobi 65 Sauce as an appetizer, and then the Home Style Chicken Curry for my main meal with the Peshawari Naan.  I was also going to try the Goat Kizhi Paratha, but I ran out of room. The appetizer is a deep-fried cauliflower dish from Southern India. While there are many variations of the spices in the batter, typically, it has red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, and coriander. After frying it, the cauliflower is often tempered in oil with cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, dried red chilies, curry leaves, and yogurt. Rock N Grill's take on this street food was perfect.  I had it very spicy level. My waitress Maya suggested I try the Home Style Chicken Curry since it was my first time at the restaurant.  She said it's a classic curry recipe that has tons of spice variations depending upon what area of the country you are in.  Cardemom, cinnamon, and ginger are highlighted in Rock's version.  I went with a medium spice level.  The dish disappeared quickly, and the Peshawari Naan made sure I soaked up all the juice after the chicken was gone. I really wanted to try the Goat Kizhi Paratha.  It's another Southern Indian dish that takes a flaky parotta bread and wraps it around a flavorful goat curry.  It is then steamed in banana leaves to enhance the taste and aroma. The "kizhi" aspect refers to the wrapping and steaming method, which helps the flavors meld together.  Note: I had to look up this cooking method since I have not tried it at home. I also passed on a whole counter of Sweet desserts treats.  I took a picture to entice you to visit Rock N Grill if my descriptions and other pictures of the food were not enough.  Excellent service.  The restaurant is located in a small strip mall.  More than enough parking.  #MattGoodEats

The food was really good, especially chicken juicy mandi, tandoori chicken. Even mysore dosa and biryanis are good here. The spice levels are on point as per indian taste. If you ask for spicy food, its gonna be indian spicy. The management are awesome too. It was my 5th visit. Mainly Ritu, she is helpful and very friendly. We asked for a bday cake and they made and gave us one spontaneously. Ill definitely comeback for the juicy mandi, its my favorite in the area.

Maya was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the whole dining experience better. She had great timing, always made sure I had what I needed without hovering, and carried herself with professionalism and warmth. She recommended an appetizer to me which was outstanding. The food was fresh, piping hot, and delicious. If you get a chance to dine here, ask for Maya you’ll be in great hands. She’s the kind of server that makes you want to come back!

Google
Quick summary: food is pretty good. They do a decent job on North Indian dishes with touches of indo-Chinese. Menu is extensive. (Maybe too extensive.) They have cute lil robots that bring your food out. Decor: Place is a little odd looking inside. Looks like you’re in someone’s 1970’s basement. Seems like they’re working on the place next door for more space. Fixes: I do not like the chicken they use. It’s always fatty and slimy? So I try to order the dishes vegetarian where I can. I also don’t like this new addition of using iPads for menus. It doesn’t make sense because you can’t submit the order from them and they’re being passed around from table to table so it’s just unhygienic given we pretty much eat the food with our hands…. Feels like forced technology where it wasn’t needed. Recommendations? Veg Monchow soup, samosas, try the dosa, egg biryani, you get the point.

Google
Food was the best tasting Indian cuisine I have had in several years. Ritu is an amazing server, talk about service with a genuine smile and very attentive to our dining needs. Will definitely return when I am in the Austin/Roundrock area.

Google
The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We weren’t sure what we wanted, so Kishore, our sever made amazing recommendations! Ritu was also very sweet! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience with both the food and the service. Maya went above and beyond to help us with our orders, and we truly appreciated her kindness and support.

Authentic Indian food of great quality. Family loves it Went back again Nice decor too.

Yelp
It's one of the top rated Indian restaurants and the food is great! The tandoori chicken is my favorite- unlike other places, the chicken here is not dry, and it has the spice masala chunks which I love ! It's good for a take out order but we have mixed reviews on the dine in experience, especially the wait times! Ambiance is good but service is a hit or miss, based on whether they have a bigger crowd or not ! Overall it's a good place to try Indian food.

Yelp
The dine in experience here is horrendous (bad service, cramped, not a great ambiance), I wouldn't recommend. However we have had good success with takeout and delivery from this restaurant. The food is of great quality and very tasty for all palettes. Favorite items to order from here: 1. Tandoori chicken. This place probably has the best tandoori chicken I've had in the US. It is so delicious and reminds me of the tandoori chicken I have had in India. 2. Aloo paratha. Fantastic flavors and especially tasty when eaten fresh + hot! 3. Goat Fry Biryani - My husbands favorite thing to get from here. He believes it's the best biryani in Austin. I recommend trying this restaurant for an authentic Indian meal!

Yelp
Hands down the BEST Indian cuisine in the greater Austin area! At least out of all of the Indian restaurant I have tried and by my past reviews you can see that I have tried many. My first experience was through Doordash and I was a little intimidated by the large menu. I ordered way too much food because I didn't realize the portion sizes were so big. No complaints though - I had delicious Indian food for days! I usually go with garlic naan but I decided to try the Lacchadar Paratha bread and it was really good. I also got the Chili Egg appetizer, Goat Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala. They were all so delicious. The Goat Biryani was huge and had lots and lots of goat meat. I wasn't sure what to expect with the Chili Egg appetizer as I have never had this dish before, but it was spicy and flavorful and I would definitely order it again. I spent the next couple of weeks raving about Rock N Grill to my wife (who was out of town when I first tried it) and she was skeptical. But then we went and ate at the restaurant one evening and after just a few bites she agreed that it was the best Indian food around. We ordered the Crispy Baby Corn appetizer, Tandoori Pomfret Fish, Lacchadar Paratha, and the Home Style Chicken Curry. Once again, everything exceeded our expectations and was a larger portion than we expected. I highly recommend the Crispy Baby Corn and Tandoori Fish. We also ordered a side of achar and it was a perfect compliment to the rich flavors. The menu is large, but you really can't go wrong. Just writing this review is making my mouth water for more Rock N Grill! I just might have to stop by for dinner tonight...

Yelp
It's surprisingly difficult to find good Indian food in Austin, even when I'm visiting north Austin and Round Rock. Someone recently mentioned this place and I decided to give it a try. They actually surprised me in the best ways! Food came out hot and fresh, quantities were generous, flavors were true to traditional recipes and delicious. We enjoyed the Indian Chinese dishes as well as the daal makhni and lachha paratha. Service at all Indian restaurants is lackluster but in its peer set, this was slightly better than the rest. We were checked on a couple of times and the robot delivery was a nice touch.

Yelp
Service and cleanliness were top-notch. The food was superb. Spicy, yes, but super tasty. You have to try their smoothies, this really made a difference to balance out the spice of the food. Chikoo Shake became my best friend with my meal Tried the Goat Goan mutton style. It was sweet and spicy. Delicious! My friends had the lamb curry and rice. I want to go back to try new dishes, but as soon as I recover from the spiciness of this meal .

Yelp
Rock N Grill Indian Cuisine in Austin was an absolute delight! A friend and I visited, and it felt like a trip down memory lane when we saw Haywards 5000 beer on the menu--nostalgia in a bottle! The food was equally impressive. We started with the chicken lollypops, which were crispy and full of flavor. The mutton masala was rich and tender, perfectly spiced, and paired beautifully with the delicious naans. We also couldn't resist the paani puri and papad, both of which added a fun and authentic touch to our meal. The lively atmosphere and attentive service made it a fantastic experience. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine!

Yelp
Came here today with my parents and loved it! Indian food always holds a near and dear place in my heart. The food was both fresh and delicious. So delicious that my photos came after we began eating!! My mom is gluten free and many of their menu options could accommodate her. Our server was helpful and attentive. The ambiance was great, and they have a automatic robot to bring food to your table that resembles a roomba. Pretty neat touch if you ask me.

Yelp
Probably some of the best Indian food I've had. Ever. We live in central Austin, and will definitely be making the drive back up just to eat here. The biryani is out of this world! I love they have boneless chicken biryani for those who don't like picking bones out of their rice. Insane flavor and comes in a bowl overflowing in a mountain of rice! Onions and lime served on top really balance it out. The saag paneer was so flavorful I don't know what sorcery they do in the kitchen. The chicken coconut curry was so good I was practically drinking the gravy. Garlic naan was superrr garlicky good - vampires beware! The menu is super extensive and we only got to try a few things with just two people. Will bring friends next time to try more things. HIGHLY recommend! Great service, great food

Yelp
I highly recommend this wonderful little Indian restaurant in Round Rock. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken corn soup, the chicken, curry, coconut entrée with garlic naan, so good! In the hospitality was top notch.

Yelp
First and foremost, the service is phenomenal. We had an issue with an incorrect delivery, and the owner was kind enough to drive out of his way to deliver us the correct food. We are truly grateful for his service, and thought others should know. Food: the goat fry biryani was a favorite of ours and the medium spice was just right, the gobi manchurian was a wonderful cauliflower side dish that paired wonderfully, the tandoor chicken was flavorful and spicy, the kadai chicken had a wonderful amount of masala and the spice of medium was perfect. All in all, 10/10 food; even better service. I hope you visit here. I will be. Cheers!

Yelp
Love their food. I have always done to-go, never dined in though. The staff are friendly and their service is prompt. The food is always ready when we arrive. We also did catering one time. The quality of food was great.

Yelp
Let's start with the good: Mango Lassi was perfection. They nailed the yogurt to mango ratio and it didn't taste too sweet or artificial, it was the best. The chicken schezwan noodles were great too, could do with some more flavor but the quantity was amazing and it wasn't bad at all. Parking is easy to find and service is fast enough. Decent: The chicken chettinad curry was pretty decent, the flavor was good but a bit too oily for my taste. Glad it came with zeera rice though. The chicken biryani was decent, tasted like almost every other Austin Indian restaurant's 'Hyderabadi' biryanis, would love some originality and more flavor. The eh: idly vada combo left me feeling dissatisfied. I was excited for tiffins as it's my favorite thing to get in South Indian restaurants but none of their combos were appealing to me. Usually you'd see some idly/dosa/pongal combo here they had none of that and there was no way of getting even a dosa and idly combo! I even offered to just pay for like a side of idly for my dosa but nope. Idlys were not bad but the vada lacked any flavor and needed salt. The sambar was quite watery and bland too and not a fan of the peanut chutney (wish they'd done a mint or tomato one like some other places) coconut chutney was ok. All in all a not bad restaurant but doesn't really excite either.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a low key night with my wife on recommendation from many of the folks I work with and it did not disappoint. Our waiter recommended we ordered from the tandoori grill they are known for. The tandoori tikka chicken was cooked perfectly and we were pleasantly surprised to see it was boneless white meat. We ordered medium, which I thought was perfect for a little kick, but my wife would have probably preferred mild. We also tried the butter chicken and the saag paneer, both were good and were perfect with some of the naan. We also tried the bullet naan, which had a ton of flavor by itself. Probably unnecessary if using with sauces. Our waiter was quite attentive and made sure we were taken care of. Of course you have to beware the robot runner which is fun to watch as you wait. As you may have noticed, we clearly over ordered, but it is all good as left overs too. Will definitely be back. My mom's favorite restaurants are Indian and will plan on bringing her here when she next visits!

Yelp
Horrible place with a pathetic and arrogant manager. Stopped going there a long time ago. Food quality is not consistent. Once they missed out some items in the takeout order. When we went back, instead of being apologetic, the manager sounded very rude and unprofessional. Would never recommend going there especially for the customer service.

Yelp
Amazing, authentic Indian cuisine and good service. The robot food delivery is cute, but seems out of place here. We had the Tandoori spicy chicken and Paneer Tikka Masala with butter naan. All of it was delicious. However, we were sitting close to the television on the wall and it was waaaay too loud. Water was served in a warm bottle so we had to ask for a glass with ice for it. I still feel like any ethnic restaurant that serves cans and bottles is just cutting corners. We will definitely go back though for the food, and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Update: We have been back to Rock & Grill three more times this past month, which is obviously a sign that we really love this food! The TV volume has not been an issue and I've tried four different entrees, all of which are fantastic!

Yelp
Crazy good food! One of my absolute favorites for Indian food. Never ate inside but have picked up to-go several times.

Yelp
Now officially my top tier Indian restaurant!!!! I came in for lunch with two of my friends and was blown away with the flavor of the food. We ordered the Papadom and samosas for the appetizers. We ordered the chicken khorma, chicken chettinad and shrimp masala for our entrees! The papadom was served almost like a tostada but it was full of flavor. I will definitely get this everytime I come. The shrimp masala was my entree and was amazing. I sampled all three, each with medium spice level which is all I can handle. The chettinad was my favorite of three, but I would order any of them hands down. Oh and don't forget the cheese naan !!! As many of times I've had Indian, never seen cheese naan .I will definitely return. I couldn't finish, so I now have dinner. I will be recommending to all my friends! The only con is that the staff doesn't speak English as their first language so i unfortunately I couldn't ask about menu items! I would suggest reviewing the menu before you come so you can do your own research if need be.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Rock N Grill in Round Rock. We were greeted at the door and sat down right away. Our waitress Maya was very helpful making suggestions on which dishes to try. We ended up trying the Chicken Coconut Curry and the Shrimp Tikka Masala they were delicious!
google avatar

Vivian F.

Yelp
Loved this place! Enough food for two meals for two people - worth. The garlic naan was the best. Lamb biryani and butter chicken - can't go wrong. It also seemed like the place got busier as the evening went out, with large groups trickling in. Parking is limit but there's enough in/out activity.
google avatar

E J.

Yelp
Check it out- you won't be disappointed! Many in our family avoid spicy foods at all costs, not a concern here as there is a very accommodating menu with tasty food offerings for every palate. Glad to have them as an option when we are able To dine out.
google avatar

Rishi P.

Yelp
This place was so busy, they had multiple catering vans and constant pickup and to go orders. The seating was wooden and not cushioned but plenty of seats otherwise. Chicken was very tender and seasoned especially the pepper pan. The chicken Andhra was too chunky and not diced but because it was tender it was easy to chop up. The robot was cool as I'd never seen that in person. Already planning to bring friends here

Yelp
I wish we had read more reviews about the service prior to ordering here. We placed an order online at about 6:45 PM on a Saturday. The online app said the food would be ready in about 20 minutes. We arrived a little bit later maybe 715, and there was a line out the door already with several abandoned orders on the back rack. When we inquired about our order, we were told it would be 5 to 10 more minutes, so we waited in the car. We then returned and we again told 10 to 15 minutes. After waiting another 15 minutes we inquired yet again at which point the server finally returned to the back to ask about my order. He came back and let me know that they were going to offer everyone that had waited over 40 minutes 20% off of their order. Honestly, the food smelled really good which is the only reason I even waited as long as I did. And to be fair, we did order at probably the busiest time. However the real issue is, they don't know how to run a business. They we're clearly understaffed, at some point who ever I assume is the owner came out to yell at a customer. They continued to accept orders and seat tables even while people had been waiting well over an hour to receive their food. Several customers were very angry and decided to leave. Ultimately, we decided to cancel our order and we ordered somewhere else. I don't know that we will be returning, there are several other good Indian restaurants with better service. Disappointing experience, especially considering we had never been here and this was our first impression of this restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant is my go-to place for some amazing Indian tandoor dishes. My top recommendation is Tandoori Chicken Tikka. I have always done a takeout from this place, and the dishes are always packed and sent in great condition. As a perk to getting takeout from here, they always send an additional sweet dish . I'm not sure if they do that when you dine in, but I always enjoy their sweet dish with the takeout. It's mostly gulab jamun or sheera.

Yelp
In a run down strip mall on north Mays in Round Rock. One of the highest rated Indian restaurants in the area. A friend and I took lunch there today. I ordered the coconut chicken curry and he ordered chicken korma. When the food arrived, both entrees looked identical. Even the waiter couldn't tell which was which. My friend ordered mild and I ordered medium. Both tasted medium but the flavor tasted okay. No idea why this place has such a good rating. Bayleaf Indian restaurant in Round Rock is far superior.

Yelp
My new favorite Indian restaurant in the Austin area. Everything is piping hot and fresh. You can actually see the spices and strings of saffron. The flavors are on point. It's a little pricey but the portions are substantial. We usually pay $70-80 for takeout but we have dinner the next night.

Yelp
Food: We got Gutti Vanyaka curry and Paneel tikka masala. All curry are served with rice. I really liked the combination of these two. Gutti Vanyaka is curry had eggplant in peanut sauce and balanced out perfectly with tangy paneer tikka masala. Tried bread options as tandoori roti, onion kulcha and garlic naan. All were really good. Quantities were more than sufficient. With above order, we were not able to finish among 3 people (and we ate a lot) Order style: There is no physical menu (atleast when I visited), We got to see the menu by scanning QR code, server came to take our order. This part was standard. Then there was a robot who brought the food. Server is there to transfer from robot to your table. (I guess it will be fun to pick ourselves from standing robot). Ambience: Ok for eating food but nothing fancy. Expect a good crowd on weekend dinner. Place gets little clumsy but food is worth it.

Yelp
Interesting dining experence. Food was a 4 1/2 service was a 0. Our server took our order and then we never saw her again. All the other servers brought us more beverage, answered our question after the food was delivered, gave us to-go containers and ran our credit card. Our server was in the dining room, but never came by our table.

Yelp
Awesome food. We thoroughly enjoy RnG. Rom and Sam were great servers. Good recommendations for appetizers, main course and drinks. We'll be back soon.

Yelp
We ordered takeout and got garlic naan, chicken tikka, chili chicken. All the dishes were very good!

Yelp
We ordered Uber eats from here tonight and we're really excited to try the butter chicken and goat biryani. The biryani was flavorful and the sauces were good however the goat was all bone- hardly any meet and super fatty if anything. Very difficult to eat. The butter chicken was good, but was missing that depth of flavor. It did have a nice subtle spice. We got medium on both dishes and didn't really taste spice, definitely surprised at how mild it was. The naan was burnt and dry. I think it all would've been much better in person inside to get the full affect and warmth. Would try again! Will plan to eat in person next time to get a feel of service and experience.

Yelp
Warning!!! Deceptive practice, Server ripped us off! We are regulars at Rock'n Grill for dine-in and for takeouts. A group of us (7 in our party) went there for dinner last night, foods were delicious as usual. The server we had last night was disappointing, she wasn't attentive. We constantly had to flag her down or trying to get her attention to order more beers. (The servers we had in our previous visits were wonderful). At the end of the night, she ask my husband for a credit card. My husband ask to see the bill. Waitress told him there's no bill, receipt will print after it's paid. I believe that is their normal operation. My husband ask our waitress if gratuity is automatic added to our bill, she replied no it's not automatic added. So he add the gratuity thinking it wasn't added and didn't think to check his receipt, took her for her word. The next day he looked at the receipt, he saw the Large Party (18.00%) is already added, plus my husband's added gratuity. We feel ripped off, very deceptive practice. I'm wondering if that is the reason why they don't let us see the bill before it's paid. I will be posting this all over, any place I can to warn folks about this deceptive practice.

Yelp
We came here over the Labor Day weekend because we were told it was the best Indian food in Austin. As soon as we came in we felt like a herd of cattle being moved around coz that's how they treat their guests. The place was super packed with people and there were only 2 servers serving at least 25 tables. The servers were overworked and constantly distracted by other folks asking questions or takeout orders and they would forget to get us what we had asked for. The food came out extremely greasy and lacking any flavor. I'm definitely not coming back here again and don't understand all the crazy reviews this place has got.

Yelp
VERY GOOD & PLENTY of food. My Wife and I stopped in for some Chicken Tiki Masala and it was delicious! Highly recommend. We had enough to take a full serving home for tomorrow.

Yelp
Kavya not only DID NOT help with my to go order she took my phone as if to look at the order and wrote herself a five star review on here under my name on my account. Which means she went through my phone to find yelp, pulled up my yelp account and wrote herself a glowing review, the managers excuse was that she is new to the country. Invasion of privacy and writing a false review should be understood across countries and cultures to be wrong. Not only did she do this on yelp, but on multiple platforms.

Yelp
I'm no Indian food cuisine expert... but this place was delicious!!! From this new fried spinach appetizer, to the delicious samosas- yummm! Then I tried something new and my daughter got the one I always get (chicken tikka masala) and our friends got 2 more other yummy plates that I sampled- bad thing is I will not be able to order them because theirs were spicy and I do not know the names! The Naan with garlic and butter was to die for! And this yoghurt drink with mango? Oh my goodness- it was amazing! Everything was very good and tasty ! Be prepared as it is on the spicy (hot) side, even when you order mild! It just is hot- I could feel the burn! Also... they have a robot server!! It is the cutest thing!! I was so entertained by it that I accidentally made a mess by knocking my rice out! So so very sorry!! Anyway a fun experience and great food so: Enjoy!

The food is amazing. The service was excellent. Our server, Sam, was very helpful and one of the nicest people you will meet. I highly recommend this restaurant. Be careful, the food is highly addictive.

Yelp
We only always get take out so I can't speak to the ambiance and service at the restaurant. The food here always hits the spot.. we have so far tried their butter chicken , malai kofta , Apollo fish , Hakka noodles , garlic naan , manchow soup and chicken 65. All dishes have been great. Soup is not exactly manchow but will do, this is definitely one of the better Indian restaurants in Austin. Warning: their spicy is really spicy, if you aren't comfortable with spicy food I would stick to medium or less.

Yelp
So I ordered them off of Uber eats & tbh the food is pretty tasty I like it & look forward to trying other items . I ordered mushroom soup, baby spinach pakoda (least favorite I thought it would be soft not hard & fried it was my first time trying so just unexpected), baby corn stir fry (favorite) , and chicken lollipops. So my only gripe is my driver informed me upon arriving to the store that they were out of mushroom soup & instead of canceling the order at the store like most restaurants do they charged me anyways so now I'm fighting with Uber eats to prove I never got a soup my delivery person literally informed me they were out of upon arrival so that's the only annoying thing I guess if you order Uber eats with them late just be careful & I guess my future service will just depend on what happens all the best.

Yelp
I can't remember a time I've been so floored at a restaurant. We went in open minded and left enlightened. We had four dishes each had their own individual distinct flavor, best FN Dosa ever and that's just where it started. We can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Robots delivering some of the best Indian food money can buy in Austin. So happy to find this place. Everything we ordered was great, which included the grilled pomfret fish, chicken biryani, channa masala, chicken tikka masala. The naan was excellent as well. Will be coming back soon!

Yelp
Really weird service, I got up multiple times to get a server's attention because they werent coming to the table but each time I got up I was urged to sit down at my table and wait for them to come. But I had to wait a long time that way. The food was really good, and prices were not bad for the quantity. Would get takeout from here, but probably wont eat at the restaurant again.

Yelp
It was very busy in there which is a good sign. You have to be assertive when asking to get a table because people will just cut you in line. Other then that I didn't mind waiting for a table and our service was very good! The food was delicious. When I go to places like this I almost don't care about anything but the food and the food is worth coming back to . The best Indian I've had since I've been in Texas!

Yelp
Blend food and fake food. Won't spend my money here. Service sucks balls. Charge for expensive fish n cook cheap fish. Disgusting environment.

Yelp
Food is good, service is bad. Ambience is ok. Panner biryani is great. Boneless chicken biryani is good but is not consistent

Yelp
The food is Superb !!!!! What an unexpected delight. I stopped here because traffic was heavy, Its location is unassuming and the exterior is plain. However, the food was phenomenal and authentic. I can't exclaim enough. If you are anywhere near Round Rock and like Indian food, I highly recommend eating here

Yelp
Came here on Sunday night around 7pm. They were busy as usual, but we still got seated right away. A lot of their business seems to come from takeout orders if you prefer to take it home :) we ordered quite a few dishes for 3 people and it was more than enough food. We got the chicken andrah 65, chicken vindaloo, garlic cilantro naan, chicken korma curry, lamb biryani, and the pomfret fish. I recommend ordering biryani at a medium spice level so you can get more flavor (not super spicy) and with the yogurt sauce, it's so good. For the chicken vindaloo, I recommend ordering mild since it's already spicy. I love their naan but which more pieces came out lol. I really loved the chicken andrah 65 (under apps) but it's def a bit spicy so keep that in mind. They use robots to bring out some of the food and a server will usually come out to bring place it on your table. Service has been hit or miss for us, been here a few times, but yesterday was pretty good! If you're looking for some decent Indian food up north, I would recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
After having Rock N Grill - Indian Authentic Cuisine and Bar on my list of Indian restaurants to try and I wasn't disappointed. I came inside and and ordered take out. The gentleman that helped me was very helpful in helping me understand the differences between the different curries so I could have select the one I wanted with my Chicken. I ordered the Chicken Chettinadu, Butter Naan, Goat Fry Biryani, and the Goat Leg Soup. Just be mindful The curry chicken Chettinadu was very good. I ordered it mild but it still has a strong kick spice wise to it. However the curry was very flavor robust and delicious. I would try it again with less spice if that's possible. The Butter Naan was also good, well baked and had a nice flavor to it. The goat leg soup was good too, not a lot of meat in it however. I didn't like the goat fry Biryani, it was dry as in over cooked and not flavorful. Perhaps it was an off day for that dish since my Chicken Chettinadu was so good. I'm looking forward to trying other stuff in the menu as well as trying the dine in experience. However I would definitely recommend this Indian restaurant for Indian food.
