Fancy Hagood’s Favorite Places for Delivery in Nashville | Eater

"“Stage Divers appetizer, Volcano Roll, Thriller Roll, Sweet Home Alabama roll — for me, this is the perfect stay-at-home date night meal,” Hagood says. “I love it for a Netflix-and-chill kinda night because you’re gonna want to melt into the couch once you’re done.”" - Stephen Rubino

Google
Me and my husband are visiting Nashville and wanted some good sushi. Found this place and came to have dinner. We had the crab wontons and the shrimp tempura, and the pot stickers! Super good and flavorful

Google
Trivia on Tuesday is my favorite part of the week,we have a large group of people and were always win a little something. The sushi is fresh, hibachi is spot on, and the wait staff rocks it out !

Shana

Google
This is one of our favorite places to go to in Nashville. Who would've thought strawberries on sushi would be so good 🍓

Google
I’ve never had just sushi for a meal as it’s always been on the side or an appetizer but Rock n Roll changed my mind. The menu and ambience of the place was great & very creative. Over the 4 courses of different sushi we got, it was all incredibly delicious & the staff was absolutely fantastic (especially our awesome server Mike! 👏). The live music was top-notch as well. Looking forward to coming back & enjoying more! 🧑‍🍳🍣🍱

Google
Love this sushi/hibachi place! The environment is a 10/10 due to the music and the respective videos playing on the TVs. Food comes out HOT! It’s amazing. If you’re in the Nashville/Vanderbilt area you gotta stop by! Some of the best headbanger shrimp, rice, and sushi this dude has eaten. *Went during the Spooky Season and MCR was playing.*

Google
Honestly, Good little sushi restaurant. I don't really think rock n roll when I think sushi, but it was a pretty good experience overall. Prices were reasonable, food tasted good and were good portions, not too busy, service was great, drinks were great. They even had glutton free soy sauce. I also liked the fact that you can still find nearby street parking around this part of town that isn't going to cost you money. Overall, it was a good experience.

Google
Honestly I've been coming in and out on a regular basis from work. Not too expensive and I am happy say the food is above average and not to mention the good vibes the place sends to the customer makes you want to come back. I have tried every roll on the menu and I can say that they do not have bad rolls at all ... except for the ramen, too salty for me. Wish they can redo the recipe and I could come back and change my mind (not sure what it is but the ramen in the United States is always been salty, overseas is a different strory). Overall good experience, good atmosphere and good food for sure 👌

Google
Hands down the best Japanese and Sushi I have EVER had in all my years the Hibachi and Volcano roll was very Unique and Delicious..our server Savanah was Wonderful explained exactly what was on and included and even recommended the tempura fried chocolate Hall of Fame brownie that melted in your mouth. Next time you're in Nashville you HAVE to visit them at the Vanderbilt location. Yum Yum Yum...

Yelp
Great service and great food! The chicken teriyaki and fried rice were delicious and picky kiddo approved. So was the eel roll and fried salmon roll! The ambiance was fun too. I prefer this location over to the Donelson one. The Donelson location seemed heavy handed with salting Ramen, during my only visit there.

Yelp
Really cool concept for a sushi restaurant. Overall enjoyed my experience here. Services was not the best. They only had one server working whenever we went. She was really nice though! Sushi itself was just average sushi. Would say everyone needs to go to experience it but probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere (they played rock music videos on the tvs while your ate) of this restaurant. I thought the food was reasonably priced and good. I loved the egg rolls in the appetizer sampler. Our server was funny and attentive. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was pretty open. They allow you to seat yourself which is nice and they also allow for pick up if you're in a hurry. Parking is hard though, you will need to find street parking for free (which is rough in Nashville) or pay in the lot behind the building.

Yelp
Let's start with the service, it was amazing! The dude was working his tail off. The not so great, an automatic 18% gratuity. I was going to leave much more, but I hate the automatic charge. And a sign said that to-go orders were subjected to a 6% fee. Also, a double Tito's and soda was $18, that is more than at the airport. Seemed like a money grab for an average sushi place. A+ to the server though.
google avatar

Madeline P.

Yelp
Wonderful sushi! Best I've had in a while. Everything is clean and the service is very nice. They automatically add gratuity which wasn't my cup of tea but the food was worth it. Ambiance is great if you're with friends! Great for a quick eat!

Yelp
I came here for a recent work trip on the recommendation of a local bartender. I'm a sucker for sushi and this place had me worried when I walked in. Think Rock And Roll and sushi?? But it worked. The rolls had cool themed names, and the vibe could not have been cooler. The walls were lined with guitars, and the two girls working the bar were extremely friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Want amazing sushi?? Come here!! Besides the AMAZING food, some highlights are the fun rock and roll decor and vibe, several TV's showing music videos, attentive staff, cocktails, wine, beer and (of course) sake. Located in the Hillsboro Belmont area. We arrived between the lunch and dinner "rush" times and sat in the bar area. This is my second experience at the restaurant within the last year and enjoyed perfect meals both times. Can eat there or order to go. Now every trip we take to Nashville will include a visit to Rock N Roll Sushi. The owner Jennifer is just as fabulous as the food and she chatted with us throughout our meal. For people worried about fish parasites, Jennifer assured us that all fish from vendors is flash frozen and the fish tastes so fresh you would never think "frozen", and we now know it's super safe.
google avatar

Beth G.

Yelp
Awesome sushi and variety! Service was adequate-ambiance dark limited seating options. Prices typical-extensive menu options. Fried rice decent nothing mouthwatering-rice dry.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
This was a nice, pleasant surprise. Two visits in the same week. Each time, we enjoyed great service, drinks, and good food. The place has a nice vintage/modern vibe. The egg rolls are fantastic and the MetalHead roll is the best!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Tasty steak fried rice but a bit salty. The sushi was good but not the california roll, too much rice and the roll wasnt tight enough. The service was friendly.
google avatar

Alan H.

Yelp
Excellent service, decent enough sushi. Super conveniently located sushi chain restaurant. Sashimi ($13.99) salad is always a good choice, nice portion of sashimi with greens and either a spicy chili ponzu or ginger dressing (both good). Rolls are average priced and many varieties - I appreciated that the sushi rice was a little warm. They really did go all in on the "Rock N Roll" theme - TV's with old music videos playing and guitars on the walls. Overall good, casual sushi joint.

Yelp
Ok I must admit I was skeptical after looking at the menu. How could the food be any good at these prices? OMG the filet and chicken were both amazing and served by two great ladies who were a lot of fun. Definitely coming back

Bakhodir I.

Yelp
The worst place to order, they work super slow for delivery orders!!!!! If you want to wait forever u r good to order
google avatar

Nicholas O.

Yelp
Perhaps the worst sushi I've ever had. General ambiance was on theme yet the speaker/pa system would randomly play something other than the tv audio at a much higher volume and pitch. The service was also bad; very inattentive and slow.

Devin E.

Yelp
Food was great, and the restaurant has good vibe! The owner Jennifer was also very helpful at resolving an issue we had with our order. We had some food tampered with by a 3rd party delivery driver -- she made the order right and made us feel seen & heard with her resolution on an important day! 10/10
google avatar

Kieran M.

Yelp
Really good sushi, Easton was very helpful and patient. I will be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Stefanie J.

Yelp
Love the various rolls and their attention to detail for my food allergies to dairy, egg and peanut! It's a staple that I order bi weekly.

Cheyenne Y.

Yelp
Electric Roll was really yummy. The top is loaded down with crab which makes each piece really heavy/falls apart but overall really tasty. Tuna crispy rice was great.

Juliette P.

Yelp
Absolute worst place ever I called over 200 times to try and place an order and every time they declined me every single time I've ever eaten there their food is disgusting and they do not accommodate and are way overpriced for the quality of their food because they are so nasty and very rude service and the slowest place I've ever been to
google avatar

Kristin P.

Yelp
It was really good; however, most of the roles were fried or contained something fried such as tempura. I'd like to see more variety in the rolls. The vibe of the restaurant was really cool and the staff were very nice and knowledgeable of the popular dishes.

Yelp
I read reviews before going and I should have listened... ended up spending over $80 for two people on a bunch of sushi we had to throw away. We met the odd waitress everyone talks about, but she was more lazy, less odd. Just didn't care. Never came to give us refills or anything, ignored me when I tried to call her over, etc. it is a forced tipping establishment so maybe that's why she doesn't care, she's getting 18% no matter what (but did have the audacity to ask if we wanted to add more). She also loudly complained to me about how it's the kitchens fault I didn't get my sauce (which by the way, you will also be charged for half a ramekin of any sauce you ask for) Anything that came 'topped' or garnished with something, don't bother, you're not getting it. Lettuce under the crispy wontons was OLD. No sugar rim on expensive cocktail, no jalapeño or green onion topper when stated on menu. Almost everything on the menu is fried. Even so, everything was just kind of lukewarm (like... should this be either hot or cold?) mushy, and just bad. We took the rest home (we both only ate a few bites) and threw it away immediately because we both got sick. I have two stars because the owner really did try to create an atmosphere, and their Branding, decor, attention to detail was very cute. Literally rock and roll themed. And it was clean. My husband was blinded by sun coming in a window, as was the person in the next table, but nobody could get the waitresses attention long enough to ask her to pull down the shades (not accessible to guests). Also.... There's a giant neon sign that says ramen on the window. They don't serve ramen

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE Rock N Roll sushi. Super fun to hang out with friends there and they have the best servers! If you get Easton as your server, you know that the service is going to be top tier. Got all my food in a timely manner and felt comfortable.

A M.

Yelp
Food is nothing but fantastic, but I feel differently about the service I have had twice now. I am not one to write reviews, but the waitress we have had has made us uncomfortable with several strange instances and comments. The first time she was incredibly unprofessional and knelt down to lay her head on our table and complain about her coworker not coming in. The whole evening was uncomfortable-but tried to give her the benefit of the doubt since we all have bad days. But, It made us not want to come back for a while. When we did, we had her again. The most recent time she made an uncomfortable and inappropriate comment about her appearance and spoke extremely openly about an inappropriate experience she had just had with another customer. I am all for a little camaraderie, but we will stick to ordering out from now on to avoid the discomfort.

Dylan C.

Yelp
Oh what a shame. The food here is incredibly mediocre. I've never seen shrimp so undercooked in sushi rolls in my life. The edamame had no seasoning. Incredibly overpriced. I Love Sushi is a much better restaurant choice. Service was odd, waitress had many weird sound effects after every question.

David W.

Yelp
Easton knows his Sushi!! Recommendations and service were on point. This will become my regular

Yelp
Would not recommend. Didn't expect much and still got less than what I'd expected. Ordered the tuna tartare and few rolls, all of which were very off in terms of rice-to-fish ratios. For example, the salmon roll (which is normally like half fish, half rice or maybe even slightly more fish) had SO much rice in it. It was like 3 times the size of a normal salmon roll (and not because there was too much salmon). All the rolls were also just drowning in sauces, which I think takes away from the actual highlight of sushi - the raw fish. Also, some of the rolls were not very well constructed. Like the rainbow roll would just fall apart when I tried to pick it up. Anyway, not very good; would recommend elsewhere if you're looking for actual sushi.

Sofia S.

Yelp
Tuna roll, edamame, and drinks were delicious. Service was also very good and everyone was nice.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
We have been here 2 times. We had some friends interested in sushi after a day of craft beer crawl. The service is astounding, so at tentative and friendly. Price for sushi is similar to other sushi place in the area. I think the menu has two many tempura and cooked options would like to see some more variety in fresh fish options and not cooked or tempura based. I got the unplugged roll, very good, it has cucumber and fresh fish, loved it. My husband got the Groupie roll, and we got the appetizer tuna taki.

Cristal S.

Yelp
The waiter had an awesome vibe and was very attentive to our needs as customers. The food was delicious and really great quality. Loved the restaurant theme - I would recommend this place to anyone!
google avatar

Yelp
Got RocknRoll Sushi delivered through door dash so not the full experience but the food was great so definitely want to go in person to the restaurant soon! The Crispy Crab Wontons are a must for an appetizer! The Volcano Roll was also very tasty although it fell apart when separating (again delivered so it happens). Looking forward to a restaurant visit!

Yelp
I love Rock'NRoll sushi, they always have great food and wonderful service...we usually eat at the Huntsville location. Today I am in Nashville and decided I wanted sushi for lunch. They did not disappoint. T, my waitress was wonderful. She was prompt, helpful and very friendly. I received my food quickly and it was delish! I will def recommend this place and eat here again should I be in the area. Great job.

Jarrell H.

Yelp
The restaurant and staff is amazing! Easton made sure that I was well taken care of! He was kind and funny! Thanks, Easton! My Spicy Shrimp Roll was awesome! 10/10!!!

Ken Z.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews. I've lived here in Nashville for 7 years and this is the worst restaurant I've been to. I ordered a drink off the menu and the waitress/bartender didn't know how to make it. The food was old, warm, and I couldn't finish it. The music was cool but the manager sitting in the corner listening to his music from his IPhone on speaker ruined it. The waitress gave herself an 18% tip on the bill and asked for an additional tip. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK! This place will be out of business soon.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a fun, modern but somehow vintage vibe at the same time. The menus are slotted inside old vinyl record album covers and classic rock and indie music videos play on the various big screens on the walls of the restaurant. Everything from Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" to "Origami" by The Rare Occasions. The sushi is excellent and adventurous. I had a sushi roll call The Experience that was a tasty combination of Shrimp tempura, cream cheese and cucumber inside w/ sliced mango outside & topped with sweet chili and eel sauce. It was so good! We were in town with other families for a baseball tournament, and I heard all of them compliment the different rolls they had. The service was also good w/ the manager pooping out from time to time to check on everyone.

Gradea L.

Yelp
Great place! Great atmosphere. Mike and Roy were awesome hosts and bartenders I come here all the time and highly recommend to all of my friends

Yelp
This is my third Rock n Roll location to visit. I've had average service at all 3 but the food was very good. Today I stopped at the one near Vanderbilt Hospital. I stopped because i had a coupon to buy one get one free. When I walked up to the door, It had a sign that said "No Vandy discount cards honored" I knew, I might be in trouble using the coupon . Agtet being seated i asked the server if they took the coupon. The answer was No! "" Then i felt like I was being ignored because i had a coupon. Lol i Finally stopped a different server and he did a great job taking care of me, It's just sad that we buy these books to hrlp the schools out! Thrn you find out you can't use many of them.

Yelp
This place was amazing the lady that was there and the food oh my I really enjoyed it. The egg rolls were the bomb I've never had egg rolls in this fashion.

Yelp
*This review is for takeout only* Post COVID times I am looking forward to eating in their storefront. For now at least in music city, rock and roll is dead and our venues stay empty. The show must go on and the rock and roll stays alive with these musical sushi rolls. RocknRoll Sushi was one of the deals of the day on Uber Eats (no delivery fee) so I thought I'd give them a shot. Sushi happens to be one of my greatest foodie indulgences that I allow myself once in a while so I try and vet a place before trying new sushi. RNR sushi passed the Yelp test as well. Their menu sticks very much to the rock theme with every category and every sushi roll name making me think of the songs that go with the artists. I'm not sure what the two have to do with each other but I dig both so I'm not complaining! I ordered the Pearl Jam roll ($13.95) and the Scorpions roll ($13.95). The Scorpions roll does not have any rice--it has yellowtail, albacore, salmon, red tuna, crab stick, and avocado and has cucumber on the outside. It came with a side of sauce that was yummy drizzled over it. This is a guilt-free roll that was delicious and fresh--just fish and veggies! The Pearl Jam roll had yellowtail, albacore tuna and spicy mayo on the inside then the outside was topped with red tuna, crabmeat, eel sauce, sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds. What can I say, I'm a saucy kind of gal. Will definitely get sushi from here again, and even though I did takeout the presentation was still beautiful and the rolls traveled well. Round of applause and some whistling for these rolls.
google avatar

Dee Y.

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting Vanderbilt Medical Center. This is my second time. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll (strangely first time with out the tail but I don't eat it so‍), the filet mignon solo, and a Philadelphia roll for my sister. The shrimp tempura roll was good - just a normal roll. Initially I thought the portions for the hibachi were small especially the steak since I was spitting with my sister but combined with the roll it was enough. I will say there was quite a bit of oil in the hibachi tray but good tasted ok.

Rhonda D.

Yelp
I don't write reviews but as an avid sushi lover, I must let the rest of you know to stay away from here. Very unsanitary conditions in the visible sushi prep area. Sitting at the sushi bar, I could see ungloved hands assembling rolls, handling raw fish, handling dirty sauce bottles, wiping their hands on dirty rags, then using them to wipe the prep table off. One preparer (I could never call this gal a "sushi chef") kept wiping her sticky hands on her apron. When another preparer told her to get a fresh rag, she simply went in the back (where I could observe) and washed it off in a sink. I asked for a glass of chardonnay while I was waiting for my California roll and watched as the server washed off a glass in soap and water, wiped it down and poured warm wine into it. Not even chilled. I rejected that. The roll was served to me; imporperly made with rice so thick you could hardly see the other ingredients. I did not eat it but just paid the bill and tipped the server (because she might get stuck with the cost) but let her know her management needs to fix this nasty environment. I will never go back. Ever.

Antonio R.

Yelp
The service was fine but the food was of poor quality and was not good at all. It had no flavor whatsoever. The sushi came in tin foil, the fried rice was mushy and unseasoned, edamame tasted like it had been poured out of a can and warmed in a microwave. If you want real good sushi, please spend your money elsewhere. It is not worth what they charge at all.
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
I ordered through Door Dash so I can't comment on the environment or service but the food was great! I ordered the super crunch roll, eel roll and fried rice. They must be extra speedy in the kitchen because our driver arrived with our food 30 minutes after ordering which was easily the driving time during rush hour. The super crunch roll had the perfect balance of smooth and crunchy with the smoked salmon and crunchy flakes. It also was not spicy at all despite the spicy mayo. The eel roll was also very good! The eel sauce adds a ton of flavor. The fried rice also hit the spot and made the meal a bit more filling. Both rolls were from the classic section from the menu which were $8-10 per roll. They did have a speciality section with more exotic rolls for ~$15 a roll. For takeout sushi, I am very happy with the quality and presentation.

Michael B.

Yelp
Don't bother coming here. The sushi was not good. The food was also completely overpriced especially for how underwhelming it was. Plus service was not good and it has forced gratuity. If I don't get good service I should not be forced to tip.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
Super cute and fun atmosphere. Loved everything about it.... especially the songs! (and the cool purple and pink lighting) Food and service was also wonderful. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Janett was our waitress and she was just the best! So kind and attentive! Food is always so good too! Can't go wrong with the chicken hibachi!!
google avatar

Ray R.

Yelp
My son wanted sushi and this place sounded fun. The decor is awesome from the large painted Slash on the wall to the album cover menus. This is a fun unique sushi bar indeed. The bloody Mary's were awesome and I decided to try the Micheal Jackson roll. I'm usually not into cooked sushi but this was definitely a good choice. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun unique place to eat sushi.

Yelp
Ordered online for curbside pickup. Email said it would be ready at 7:27. We get there and realizes there is no parking near it so I pull down a side street and my partner runs in to get it. It's not ready, we wait about 15 minutes for the order to be completed. Definitely within the Vandy zone so lots of college kids is the vibe. We got two rolls, two miso soups, and the crispy crab wontons. The crab wontons were amazing. We got one regular roll and one cucumber roll. I love the idea, I thought it would be sushi fish wrapped in a thin layer of cucumber. Instead it was a large, thick piece of cucumber. I am not even sure how one eats that. It was delicious, just not functional to eat.

Yelp
Tucked in the little strip on 21st before Hillsboro Village proper, right next to Taco Mama, step into a cool little spot that makes you feel like you are in another city. ***** Five stars for decor and atmosphere: black, red and white sleek clean interior, menus that look like laminated album covers, and music videos playing on 5 or 6 screens placed around the space (but not so loudly you can't hear your neighbor). ***** Five stars for service: Whitney and the whole staff were really sweet and eager to share about the concept and menu specialties. **** Four stars for the food: I had sushi (tuna and albacore nigiri), hibachi and miso soup. The miso soup was really miso-y and flavorful; it was my favorite. (The main specialty here on the menu is lots of maki rolls named after rock bands with lots of ingredients which I did not order as that style of sushi is not my preference.)
