What a wonderful spot! Went up to Mulholland drive for a cruise and stopped here for some food on the way down, tried the fish tacos and was absolutely delighted, my partner also tried the tri tip sandwich which was fantastic, and absolute must stop for anyone into bikes cars or just a spirited drive up the canyon, support this buisness!!

One of the best motorcycle destinations. Getting there, via the "Snake" makes it an 11, on a scale of 1-10.

Dining establishment is the Stoneside Diner and the Rock Store is the merchandise shop next-door for clarification. We stopped at this biker hotspot (I am not a biker and pulled up in my EV) deep in Agoura Hills for our first time this morning and had a very nice breakfast. It’s definitely the sort of place that is filled with locals, far traveling bikers, and people searching for a Cheers type of experience where customers are called by their first name. All of the food is served on paper plates and it really feels like a camp experience in a sort of way. It’s quite large on the inside and there are many different tables available. The kitchen is small and they only have one chef cooking, but he did a great job. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. For my meal, I ordered the special of the day which was the Eggs Benedict and thought it was pretty good. Everything tasted kind of packaged versus made from scratch, but the eggs were perfectly runny and overall it had some nice flavors so I can’t complain. We also got the Biker Breakfast and the eggs and bacon were very good. However, the pancakes were a bit dry and kind of cakey instead of fluffy. But still we had a nice meal and the drive out there alone is worth the visit. I would recommend to anyone in the area or to anyone searching for a place that requires a beautiful drive to get to it.

Sundays are usually pretty busy with a diverse crowd of motorcycle riders. I like to order the biker breakfast with French toast when I visit.

Great ride through the canyon roads to take a pit stop at the rock store and had a delicious chorizo breakfast burrito that was served with a smile. Awesome to check out all the bikes after our meal.

I went here for the hang out with other bikers and I was hoping to ride the snake, but it's closed a little deli they had inside seemed busy and people were eating outside on the patio under umbrella umbrellas, and they look like they were enjoying their food inside is pictures of all the famous people that have come by with signatures on them and I heard Jay Leno comes out and holds with a different bike or a car every time he shows up. It was a good ride where I was from where I was staying at and I had other things to do so I didn't stay long. I talked to the owner and he told me hopefully the snake will be open in September 2025 but we'll see you there in no rush as probably a lot of rookies end up dying on that road and they're not in a rush to get back to people crashing off the side.

The Rock Store is the quintessential motorcycle stop in the Malibu hills that is a must stop for any motorcycle enthusiast! Grab a bite to eat and hang out for a bit and you'll get to see generations of motorcycles, lots of Harley's but ranging to unique sport bikes as well!! The food and service reminds me of generations ago, as American food as it gets. But the food is pretty middle of the road good, that said some weekends they do bbq and smoked bbq, so I gotta come back and try that

Got to check off a few items in my bucket list yesterday. And our visit here (left San Diego at 4am sharp)- on a late Sunday morning- was definitely worth it. Prior to our visit, I already scoped out the parking situation for motorcycles. It is a very small lot- and if you're not fully aware- the paved parking is limited and gets cramped, real quick. Didn't realize til the day before- the cafe opens at 7am. But, when we arrived at 8am, we were able to snag curb side parking. I got the Biker Breakfast (2 pancakes- which I think had cinnamon batter), over medium eggs and crispy bacon. I ordered a side of hash browns with shredded cheese- because cheese is LIFE! The lady at the register was so friendly! If you walk up the steps- there's additional booths and wooden picnic tables to sit at. It's such a chill vibe- patrons are so friendly. Tons of different motorcycle enthusiasts. Single restrooms for men & women with an additional UNISEX. I was a bit bummed when I went to the souvenir shop. I was hoping to buy some rocks... like crystals or precious whimsical things... so, no rocks. Would definitely stop by again. Can never go wrong riding Mulholland Hwy towards Malibu. Shiny side up!!

This is a great motorcycle riding spot. The food at the diner is great for the price. I would say better priced and taste than Neptunes Net. Over-all a great atmosphere!! Food was made fast also

It's been like 10 years and I've come here 10,000 times, it only gets better. The food is good. The people are awesome great place to ride your motorcycle., if you're investigating the rock store, try the inn and cold springs, Neptunes net. All worth the ride!

Cool spot for bikers for sure. We were hoping to Stop off for a drink and some lunch after our hike. It's off mullholand, not in a residential area. You would have to know this place or stumble upon it. First impression, it seemed happening with all the bikers parked outside. Walked in hoping there was a bar which it looked like there was one outside but wasn't utilized. They did have a fridge inside with beer. Food wise, looked at the menu and wasn't to impressed. More of a diner type of place. There's plenty of seating outside which was great. People watching and mingling with the bikers. As this was a main stop along the road. Cool vibe and cool place. Not really a restaurant if your looking for something like that. Did notice a grill on the patio so they may have bbq but not sure.

First time here and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing tour and learned so much history. If you belong here you can feel it. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious! Felt like being at a backyard bbq, but with friendly service. This will be a regular spot for us. Thank you for the hospitality!

The good is that it's a cool ride to get there. .... The bad is the food, the service and the quality, it has definitely gone down hill.

My first time here. Great chorizo breakfast burrito w an incredible house made verde hot sauce. My wife had the pancakes which were also excellent. Cool vibe with all of its history. Will definitely be back soon.

I don't like that it is self service. If I am going out to eat, I prefer to be served. And ... not to eat out of a paper plate.

Great little dive up in Topanga Canyon. I'm all for an understated dive bar where everybody knows your name kinda vibe. One of my favorite drives on a weekend. Cruise through Topanga canyon, pass the art wall & the flying pigs and you will come upon the rock store. They don't have anything on tap. Basic beer in bottles & a good stock of hard seltzers. Cheap and perfect! Regular hang out for bikers, but everyone is very friendly. Belly up to the outdoor bar and grab a drink and enjoy the scenery. They are also dog friendly on their patio which is a huge plus! They offer typical basic bar food in the Cafe that is attached to the bar. Pulled pork, burgers and fries. Haven't given the food a try yet but will once we go back for another drink. A great little spot to sip a drink and socialize a bit. Nothing fancy, older biker crowd and Plenty of patio seating with shade.

Best biker hang out in California. All bikes are welcome. Sport bikes. Harley's, vintage collectors bikes. Standards, you name it. You may even see a movie star. Get a drink, breakfast or a burger. Great destination. I've been going there for 40 years and I live in Vegas.

I don't blame these guys. They're a victim of the times. First CA closed Mulholland to stop people enjoying the road. Now COVID has everyone outside. The burger was pretty good. The bikes were cool. You couldn't help but feeling the scene is dying though.

Such an iconic place for a motor enthusiast like myself! I have heard about this place ,but this was my first time here. Located at the end or beginning of the famous snake road (whichever way you take it), it embodies the vision of a true biker pit stop! Originally a famous stagecoach stop Vern (Veronica) bought the Rock Store in 1961 with a solid vision of the future and what she knew it would become. She transformed the property into a small town grocery store and gas station with two retro pumps that still stand today (now non operational ,but great for photos). The property is now home to a quaint cafe and biker bar come here on the weekends to meet some of the top "who's who" in the moto world!! The food simple ,but hits the spot. I really loved my patty melt and would recommend it to all that come. It's fast and quick with a kind staff. I want to come here for breakfast the menu looked spot on for my liking! Both Rich and his mother Vern (the owners) were there. It happened to be her birthday-- lots attended for the special occasion and it made my first time something truly special ! Rich and his wife give tours and went out of their way walking us around and sharing with us the knowledge of the past, present, and future! The Rock Store is a remarkable place- never before have I been to a place like this and I am looking forward to returning!!

Love this iconic hangout. Great riding to from and around it. A great place to hang out, grab a bite and talk with other bikers. Been coming here for years and never get enough of the Rock Store.

Spent $45 on breakfast, realized we didn't have water, didn't have cash, and they did not have any tap water to give out, so only option was to buy a bottle, but there is. $4 card minimum. The water was only $1, they wouldn't give us a water. Forced us to buy at the $4 minimum. Seriously?

The food was decent, but the service and atmosphere were AMAZING. It was my first time going, so many beautiful bikes, and the owner gave us a tour and told the history of the place. I look forward to going again.

I drive Mulholland Dr from Old TopangaCanyon every Sunday and love stopping by the Rock Store. I try to get there before all the motorcycles get there around 8am. The menu is simple and affordable. Coffee is good and the people are friendly. It feels a little bit like you're not in LOS ANGELES but you're reminded when the various car clubs pass by. Good for a date or alone. Fun driving up there too!!

Anyone that comes into Southern California I make sure that they go to the rock store. It is an iconic biker bar set and the Malibu hills. J Leno, and many other famous folks take their cars and motorcycles there on the weekend. Great place to check out if you're looking for a fun canyon drive on a early morning.

The Rock Store is a fantastic weekend excursion from Los Angeles. Turn on your Waze app and drive up the 101 to one of California's most sought after Biker Diner's. The place is literally made of old rocks--and the bikes outside range from Harleys, dual purpose, Ducati's, to Cafe Racers. Folks also bring their sports cars and drive up the scenic road nicknamed "The Snake." I gave the Chili Burger a go, and it was earnestly made. The chili was good, but you are really there for the storytelling. Owner, Rich, gave us a thorough tour of the structure, and shared tales of a variety of film, TV, and commercials that have been shot on location. He was a delightful guide, even stopping to offer to take pictures for us. He pointed to a large structure in the hills belonging to Mel Gibson. Apparently he built a private church not too far from the Rock Store, with a Latin service. Rich went on to tell us about the cyclists, skateboarders, motorcyclists, and car enthusiasts that frequent the area. For a weekend destination, this place is one of your best out-of-LA choices!

I'm on a short road trip from Bay Area, Mulholland hwy is a great biker road. The place is beautiful. I order a biker burger w fries, the burger was great, but i would expect a bit better or unique sauce not just mayo and mustard.... Service was excellent, quick but only 1 person for inside and for the garden, its WoW, she tried her best, cleaning of the tables, service , payments but its a lot for 1 people when a place is busy. Food service: paper plate, plastic cup and canned soda??? seriously... no comment i'm expect more from any restaurant. 2star becouse the burger was really good,even sauce in could be better and for the tireless waitress , she's rock.

The Rock Store isn't so much about the food as it is the atmosphere and novelty of being around many different bikes/bikers as you take a break from your ride through the twisty roads. The food's not bad but that's not why you're here. You'll find every type of bike here throughout the day; street, touring, cruiser, sport and standard. I don't remember seeing any mopeds or scooters though. Everyone here has stopped for a break on their ride and/or a bite to eat. The crowd here changes from moment to moment as the bikes come in and out. They have a nice breakfast menu. Most are here during lunchtime when they have the BBQ going with typical fare like burgers (turkey too), tri-tip sandwiches, teriyaki chicken sandwiches, homemade chili and more. Ride safe.

Delicious spot. The breakfast burrito, my favorite. Ask for bacon I woke up to a 68 degree weather so I decided to ride to this spot. Many of my colleagues kept telling me about this sweeet spot and it was worth it! Thank you so much!

Iconic spot for iconic people. Located off of Mulholland, this place has been a hang out for celebrities and motorcyclists alike. Its simply a good vibe with a bunch of bikes. The bacon breakfast burrito was delicious and the salsa was super flavorful. If I lived closer I'd order this every day. It's affordable and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Beers are reasonable at $5 each and the bartender is super nice. They accept cards and everything is covid compliant. Plexi glass, face shields, and 6 feet between customers.

A tasty diner meal and lots of LA folklore and history is what you'll be greeted with here - its worth a stop to spend a little cash and support the locals as this place has been around for quite some time. The 1930's gas station and original rock building must carry lots of stories. The drive around these parts is absolutely gorgeous - although the Snake stretch of Mulholland is currently closed due to the fire from years ago, it doesn't take very long to get to from the 101 or PCH. Make it part of your next weekend outing as its a reminder just how glorious our City of Angles truly is - especially once you leave Hollywood lol.

I can't in good faith recommend this place. Yeah it's "historic" and people with bikes come here but so what? Their food is horrible and so is there selection of beers (bud, coors, blue moon is about it). There's no point in going here unless you want to show off your bike to a bunch of boomers. It's not really a restaurant and it's not a bar so wtf is the point? It's kinda like a rest stop? Take your money and ride into the city if you want quality food and drinks. It's a cliché biker trap that doesn't even try to give off the impression of being known for anything else.

've been riding to the Rock Store since 1987. Been both ways, from The beachside in Malibu, and of the 101 Freeway (Topanga Exit North) Not sure if there is parking for cars, but a lot of parking for bikes. This place is a bike heaven.  You will meet a lot of friendly people here.  I normally ride up on a Sunday, have breakfast, then ride up The Snake. I've been here once on a Saturday, and it isn't as crowded.  Great Weather, very cool during the summer. If you are a biker, this is a "must visit" location. Iconic Los Angeles biker stop. Mostly Harleys, but many sport bikes as well. Solo riders to MC's at this location.  Restaurant serves breakfast and Lunch. Outside Patio. (Smoking) Bar and Music outside

On a curvy road, leads you too a biker joint called the rock store. The restaurant is inside and the bar is outside. You can however order food if you sit outside. I've been here numerous of times when it's been super busy and really slow. When you walk in you sit yourself, the people at the counter don't even acknowledge you half the time, the service to wait on a waitress is beyond slow. Even after you order, they don't check back up on you too see how the food is, and if you need something or even a refill, you're gonna be waiting for a good solid 5+ mins before they return. However I will say the food that I have eaten here has always been good, though the last time I came most of my food was cold. I prefer to not eat a cold plate of food if it was meant to be hot. Also my BF asked for coffee and got a cold cup, why would you even serve that to your customers ?? when we tried to flag down a waitress to exchange it for a hot cup it took awhile, we waved at some and all they did was look at us and kept walking. I get it there busy and always seem short of staff, but it be nice if for once they acknowledge you in the restaurant. However, I will come back to this place, but it's gonna be a pit stop on the motorcycle or in the car. I'll go eat somewhere where the staff actually comes around and you're not waiting to order for ever.

I love this place it's a home away from home when I come with my boyfriend. You're greeted by the most amazing people, they're like family! The atmosphere is great and the food is just as good. I could spend all day here taking in the beautiful bike and cars that come through.

The Rock Store is a great bikers meet up place. The food is decent but a little pricey for what you get. I do like their Burgers but they are not over the top great. I have tried their BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwich as well which was good. The main thing I have a problem with at the Rock Store is their choice of Coffee ( just not great). Their home made cookies are always a good snack. I know the owner passed away recently (Ed) and he will be missed by the whole biker community. Rest in peace Ed.

Stopped here on a Friday as the last day of a 7 day Hwy 1/Pacific coast trip via motorcycle. I'm from Georgia and I've heard for a decade about this place and how popular it is as a hot spot for bikes. So I factored it into my plans and went up Decker Canyon Road from Hwy 1 in Santa Monica and then over to Mulholland. (Tip: unless you're skilled at super slow and TIGHT switchbacks I would avoid going up Decker Canyon) My open faced burger with chili/cheese and onions was pretty standard fair. Really nothing special but not terrible! Extremely run of the mill. With it being a weekday it's pretty deserted except for what seems like the local retired standard visitors. So if you're by yourself you'll be treated to one or two clusters of old guys talking about their stocks or how weed should be processed better, or highly opinionated thoughts on government Overall a nice reprieve to stretch your legs and the opportunity to traffic watch and see some exotic cars and bikes. But in the future if I'm ever doing another motorcycle trip up the coast I'll skip this place. For lack of better terms, it's a one and done kinda deal. I'm sure for locals it's a great place to come and chat with buddies though. Overall I'd say go at least once just to say you have.

Our group finally sat down and had some breakfast at the Rock Store. They serve breakfast on the weekends (that I know of) from early to 12pm. And after 12pm, they have the lunch menu. Breakfast? Not too bad, loved the French Toast. The service was good too. Considering it was a pre-Super Bowl Sunday ride up, there were tons of bikes up there. But the seating and restaurant was plenty! Sat down right now, served and taken care of with no problems. The waitress with the pink tank top that morning was super nice! Thanks!

Such a historical place in the middle of a majestic ride on Old Mullholland Rd. I stumbled on to this gem when I first got my Harley back in 2006...and it has been a destination for me to unwind ever since. Relaxing with a burger and watching all the cool cars and motorcycles stop through is always a great time. Bonus Tip: Check out the horse shoes in the cement...they are actually from Ronald Regan!

Ride the twisted road to get here, bikers everywhere. Divey place, saw Schwarzenneger ride his Indian here many years ago. A biker hangout, be here. Food is okay, more about the place, ace. Last time i was here was a gravel parking lot, like ball bearings under your bike....skillz fool.

Went here after a ride up Mulholland and I have to be honest it was OK. I had the Chilli omelette and it was good, but $12 for that and a water and it was just average. Now the atmosphere is quite the opposite if you like cars or motorcycles. You will see some of the most exotic of both if you go here.

If you have a bike, this is a must visit on a gorgeous day. Ride up, sit on the patio, enjoy the open air, people watch and ogle the tons of bikes that will surely be here. Getting here is half the fun! Take a left at The Inn of the Seventh Ray, and keep going. Turn to look at the photographer that catches you in motion when you get close (on a Sat or Sun), and then check out your pics online within a couple days at RockStorePhotos.com. If you don't arrive on a bike, parking a car here can be almost impossible. There were TONS of bikes of all kinds when I was here on a Sunday afternoon, and no place for the few single cars we saw trying to park. The patio has a bar (beer and wine only), and a bbq area that only cooks til Labor Day. After that time of year, a server will take your order if you sit at a table. (There are booths inside too - but really, sitting outside is the way to go) The food here is way beneath spectacular (the bbq might be different). My friend and I had patty melts - one classically done on grilled rye with onion rings and the other on a bun with fries. Both were decent but underwhelming, and the fries and rings surely came from a ginormous bag of frozen stuff. Condiments were nowhere on the table, our drinks took a long time to come out, service was friendly but slow-ish, and bees relentlessly accosted us over even glasses of water. So, clearly don't come here for the food (again, the seasonal outdoor bbq might be different). DO come here ON a bike, for the fun ride up, the scenery around the area, and bike talk with strangers. People are very friendly and helpful and everyone is having a good time!

Me being the smart guy I am decide to make my first ride to this famous biker hangout on the hottest day of the summer thus far. Arrived about 4:30p and the place was pretty dead. I guess most riders arrive before noon. I was expecting a bigger joint with lots of parking. Place is tiny. Little diner with 3-4 booths on the 1st floor and similarly upstairs. Just ordered a small milk shake. Was told they only have big ass sizes lol. Upon seeing that I was really set on just a small one she capitulated :-) Very friendly service! An older lady was sitting in the booth next to me with a couple friends and a balloon that read Happy Birthday. Apparently was Vern. Her name is on the sign. So I fell in line and gave her my birthday greeting upon exiting to the patio area. I would come back again with a group and when it's cooler :-) Will eat and have a brew too.

The Rock Store is a great place to stop and biker-watch on a Sunday. The food here is just so-so; omelet and hash browns on a paper plate - hey, it does the job! Because it's in Malibu, it's overrated, but still fun. If you continue on Mulholland, there's sports photographers at the curve taking pictures of all the bikers and you can find your pic online. Bikers show off doing wheelies up and down one stretch of the road, so be really careful! It's dangerous up in them there parts! If you're lucky, you'll run into Jay Leno here!

I have ridden by several times but hadn't stopped until a couple of weeks ago. Was riding with a buddy who wanted to stop for breakfast. I was impressed so I rode there with my wife today. She loved it. The food is decent and fairly reasonable (for breakfast at least) but the ambiance is what makes this place special. If you ride, it is a must visit. Probably one of the most famous motorcycle destination stops on the West coast. Seeing some of the bikes in the parking lot is worth a trip. It is like a motorcycle and car show every weekend. It does get a little crowded but it is worth stopping to check out the scene. We will start making this one of our regular stops.

YOU LIKE MOTORCYCLES? This place is one of the well visited biker spots around LA. TONS of bikes come from all over to people watch, check out bikes and eat some grub. The service can be a little slow but thats expected with the amount of people that come here. Really if you come here you are heading up the beautiful roads to congregate with other motorcycle enthusiasts at one of the most historically iconic motorcycle gathering spots in Cali. Not uncommon to see Jay Leno here on his latest ride.

Stopped by this place during our ride today. It's a nice place for bikers. Saw some pretty nice bikes here. I didn't try the food so I can't tell you about that. The bar outside however is nice. There are a lot of seats outside by the bar but for some reason this place was very busy today and we had to wait a bit for a table to clear up. The staff was very friendly. The prices were very fair as well. It you are riding don't park your bike Infront of the restaurant. Other customers will block you in and then good luck finding that biker that blocked you in.

I've been riding my bike here since the early 70's. Even back then it was a biker hangout on weekends but most especially on Sundays. Now days it still is but a whole lot bigger. You'll see every kind of bike here on a Sunday. From choppers, to dressers, to crotch rockets, to enduros, mopeds and even rocket propelled bikes that Jay Leno sometimes rides here on. The canyons here are my favorite. While I no longer drag my knees through the turns as I use to, I still enjoy cruising on them. Please be careful and stay well inside your lane when riding here because it is a race track on Sundays and as such you'll see other riders often times drifting outside their lanes and coming right at you at a high rate of speed. Also keep an eye behind you as you'll have others trying to pass you. I advice you stay out of their way, and let them by. Unless of course you're racing in which case they'd have to work their way past me. Bottom line is I highly recommend any biker to visit this place at least once in their life. Definitely something that should be on your bucket list.

Is it weird that I enjoyed this place as much as I did? The food isn't especially good, but the atmosphere is super fun if you're into motorcycles, cars, or whatever else then I would totally recommend this place. Definitely a feeling of community here, and you have to love a niche hangout like that.

You're riding your motorcycle on PCH, Kanan Dume, Encinal Canyon, Latigo Canyon, Malibu Canyon, Las Flores Canyon or any number of other roads in the hills above Malibu and you need a break. Where do you go? The Rock Store. It's a great place to stop, rest and grab something to eat or drink. It's VERY biker friendly and you'll see all different types of bikes parked out front. It will vary from weekend to weekend, but sometimes there'll be just 25 bikes, other times there will be hundreds! It's an awesome destination, but it's also a great journey getting there!

THE rock store Heard about this place for years, see it in posters, movies, etc. Never been there until last Sunday. 3 cars, 300 motorcycles (give or take). Most of the patrons are over 40, maybe even over 50. The leathers are new and the bikes were spotless. It's a cool place for this type of eye-candy. Got the everything omelette with some jalapenos. Unfortunately it was a bit bland - had to doctor it up with some ketchup and Tapatio. My friend got the eggs & bacon. Looked very doable. I heard that the tri-tip is good too... So after years of driving within 100 yards of it and not knowing it. I finally got to see and experience it. It won't be my last, but I will be trying a different meal though.
