"Rocka Rolla has all the fun parts of a dive bar (classic rock, cheesy decor) without the bad parts of a dive bar (bathroom smells and general filth). Like many Williamsburg bars, Rocka Rolla is also nice and spacious, so it’s a fun place to come with a group. Play some pool, drink from the giant beer goblets, and stick around until 4am if you want to watch people get sloppy." - bryan kim, kenny yang, nikko duren, matt tervooren, will hartman
"In the style of "Divey Dad Bar," Rocka Rolla serves up a variety of booze in generous portions. Relax in a big booth while sipping on their signature drink, "The Coffee Thing" under the warming glow of well-curated vintage beer signs, and vibe on raucous metal tunes blasting from the juke box. Good times to be had." - Krrb
"If you’re thinking about going to Union Pool one night, but walk by and notice a very long line, you should take that as a sign and just go to Rocka Rolla instead. It’s a 1970s rock-themed bar that looks like something from the movie Dazed & Confused, and it’s only about two blocks away. This place tends to always be just the right amount of busy, and they serve a frozen coffee cocktail that will give you both a brain freeze and a hangover. It’s delicious." - bryan kim
"From the owners of Do or Dive, Williamsburg’s Rocka Rolla is another divey bar with endearing retro decor. It’s the kind of spot you stumble into at 1am on a Saturday to drink beer out of a big glass goblet, and it’s perfect for a relatively low-key night with inexpensive drinks. There will probably be a decent crowd here, but we doubt anyone will be wearing a tux." - team infatuation
"Walking into Rocka Rolla is kind of like being transported to an era in Williamsburg before cocktails were $18 and mason jars were used ironically. It doesn’t really matter whether the crowds here are nostalgic for that time, or they’re treating it like a tourist attraction. Most people at this packed dive/metal bar under the BQE are here to drink cheap beers that come in massive chalices, dance anywhere they find room, and buy shots for people who can’t really hear them over the very loud music." - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, matt tervooren
