Just got a bike today! Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. Chris hooked me up with a great deal and a great bike that perfectly fits my needs. They really care about the bikes and the folks who ride them so please check them out if you’re in the neighborhood for some new wheels. They also sell scooters!

Google
Had a scooter flat with a tire which was difficult to remove due to proprietary issues. I had to order a special wrench but thy held my scooter and when it arrived thy did a good job. Would recommend. Price was not bad.

Google
I went here for a tire fix, the guy sitting at the front desk was talking on the phone and playing a game when i got there and waited awhile before i actually got to talk to him. He told me to pick up the bike the next day at the same time i came in. When I came back the same guy told me it wasn’t ready and hasn’t been able to see it yet because it had been busy (everyone in that store was sitting doing nothing and the guy actually fixing bikes went outside to smoke), but surprisingly right before i left he knew something else had to be fixed besides the tires. I said okay fix whatever i want the bike, but honestly how’d you know that if the bike was never seen yet? Next day they called saying something else is wrong with the bike and generally felt like a scam of not my money, but my time. It felt worthless at that point because i saw so many reviews talking about how you should never bring your bike here for repair. I agree, don’t bother with this place.

Google
Brought an expensive road bike to fix a flat tire. While removing the wheel they try to unscrew it from the side where the derailer is located. They complained that it was too tight and proceeded to apply forth. He ended up breaking my derailer. The “master” told me it was just cap but the bike was not rideable. The manufacturer is sending me a new derailer and I will need to go a different shot to reinstall it. Would never use this shop again.

Google
Wow!! Not a big fancy bike shop but the honesty and sincerity of them is worth alot more than that. I will continue to do buisness with Chris. Thank u for for everything

Google
Great customer service, I have been a few times, and no matter what I needed- air or full tune up so helpful, nice and thorough & fast tech service Highly recommend

Jordan Stewart

Google
Best bike shop around. Knowledgeable and customer service is a1. Bought a bike 2 years ago. Still riding and always willing to help with anything. ❗️

Google

Yelp
What an awesome shop. The staff are super nice and helpful. I strongly recommend this business. The owner went out if his way to help me. above and beyond. He pumped up my tires. and i was going to buy something but it turned out that he really did not have what i needed. He went out of his way to give me something yo help with my situation. he didn't make any money at all, but was motivated out of the goodness in his heart to help. That's something you just don't find that often. I will definitely do business here when i need something for my bike.

Yelp
From superior customer service to a great selection of bicycles this is your go to spot. The people that work here are extremely knowledgeable and best part is they don't try to sell you anything you don't need. I'm lucky to shop here

Noah M.

Yelp
This Is the best bike shop ever thank you for fixing my bike. This bike shop gives you high quality bikes for a low cost

Jack F.

Yelp
I got my pedo-cycle there and the front wheel completely went off the rails. The goatee on my pedo-cycle was never right. Jesus if you

Yelp
Awesome little spot in the Rockaways for bikes and bike accessories. It's a small joint but it has so many cool things. The staff was super friendly and helped me with just what I needed. Highly recommend if you're in the area and need a little bike boost!

Gayle D.

Yelp
Excellent service. Quick turnaround. Owner is very friendly and accessible and answers all your questions and concerns. Highly recommend.

Diamond D.

Yelp
I took my electric scooter in for air to find out my scooter had a leak and I needed a new tire they were all very kind and informative about what I needed so I ordered everything and took it there to get fixed and they did great. It was done the very next day they called me when it was ready and on top of that the owner helped me with a few other things while I was already there just to be kind . I'd definitely recommend coming here . It was a delightful experience .

Donald G.

Yelp
Some of the most talented guys around for bikes. Bike rentals here as well. Owner Paul is one of the nicest people I've met. Can't say enough good things about this place!!
google avatar

Raj B.

Yelp
Great shop they do a excellent job on maintenance and repair work on my heavily used bike thanks!

Christina B.

Yelp
They always take great care of my bike and tend to areas that need extra care and maintenance. Friendly & fast service!

Yelp
Fantastic service! Stopped by on Sunday with my folding bike and wasn't even sure I could fix it in the local bike shop, only because Bromptons have quite unconventional engineering compare to other bikes. Paul assessed the problem instantly and fixed my bike in 5 seconds and I meant it literally in 5 seconds (the problem was with the chain rotation/gear switch). He wished me a great day and didn't charge anything! From now on instead of going to the city every time to fix my Brompton I'll be bringing it to Paul's Bicycle Shop! Thank you Paul!

Geekgeneral K.

Yelp
Every time I went to the shop the helped fix the problem, and they did so with great efficiency.

Gail B.

Yelp
Paul's is the best. His prices are fair. The work is expediently done. Plus they are super honest and friendly, which you cannot buy. It has to be given. My son's mountain bike was a mess and my 37 year old 10 speed Schwinn Ranger was near death and Paul saved them both. I could not be happier. I had no intention to buy new bikes. The pandemic saw me riding a darn near new bike. I even went back last summer for a new bike seat. He left me trade up to a way wiiiider seat for my bum. Lol. I just saw a blue basket for my girl bike. Gotta call Paul. Byyyyye

Yelp
Paul's is the VERY BEST Bicycle Shop in our ENTIRE area. They are very friendly, honest, trustworthy, prompt and very efficient. IF they say the bike will be fixed by a certain day or time....it will be done. We came today around 1:45 pm and asked if they could replace the front tire tubing, how much and how long. The very kind helpful young man said they could replace it, hopefully today and it would be 20.00. I paid him in advance and we ran to get something to eat. Literally, an hour later they called my cell phone but I was busy stuffing my face and didn't hear it, lol At 3:00 pm, I looked and saw that I had missed a phone call, called it back and it was Paul's...saying thee bike was fixed. We went to pick up the bike and not only had they replaced the tire tubing, they fixed something with the brake handle or cable......I didn't know it was a problem but my son saw it right away. I HIGHLY Recommend this place to anyone that wants to buy a new bike or have their bike repaired. Paul's has very fair pricing on new bikes plus the bike repairs are fast and the pricing is great. I dropped off a bike last week to get fixed at another place (not naming the business) and 4 days later........its still hadn't been touched, smdh

Yelp
Great bike shop, awesome price on the rentals and the beach is literally on the same block. You can literally ride along the boardwalk stress free.

Yelp
Super helpful and friendly staff. I think it's the only bicycle shop around servicing the Rockaway beach community. There is parking in front, walkable to the train/bus station and also accessible from the 117th St. boardwalk exit. I came in exactly at closing time and they could've turned me away, but didn't. Instead they helped to install my new bike lock free of charge! 15 mins later I was ready to go again and could finally lock up my bike while I did errands. Opted for the $20 loop lock because 1) it's cheaper 2) using a combo code is way easier to deal with than carrying around a key which U-locks need. They sell other bike gadgets and two racks of bikes to choose from.

Me C.

Yelp
If you're looking to overpay for a bike and deal with a nasty attitude from the owner then this is the place for you. Would never recommend this place to anyone and will now look elsewhere for a bike shop.

Eric M.

Yelp
Great shop with great service. Brought my bike in for an overhaul including hub work. Got it back within a week running like a brand new bike. Guys were a pleasure to deal with from the counter to the workshop
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great bicycle shop in every regard - they are knowledgable, informative and good at everything they do (as well being honest and reasonable). I noticed a great selection of bicycles and items in there, but was there for a repair - so grateful to these guys for the EXCELLENT job they did, at a reasonable price, and their extra attention to detail. Anyone in Queens or from anywhere will be lucky to discover this place - WOW GUYS, QUALITY & EXPERTISE AND SOLID HONESTY, AS GOOD AS IT GETS.

Tricia K.

Yelp
Went to Paul's to have some basic work done one my bike. He told me it would be a ten day wait. I try to give locals my business so I said fine; I would bring it back in ten days. He said no-- I would have to leave it in the shop for ten days! No exceptions. I could not believe that so I double checked with him and he confirmed: no appointments it must be left in shop for ten days. I guess that's how he keeps a guaranteed flow of work for his mechanic. Anyway. I biked to Roy's on Coney Island Ave in Brooklyn and had it done on the spot in a half hour. It's a shame because Paul is a nice guy.

Martin B.

Yelp
I happened to be bicycling in the Rockaways when the chain mechanism of the bke developed some sort of probelm. I stopped into Paul's and found him to be gracious, courteous and most of all unbelievably helpful. He fixed the problem quickly then refused my offer of payment. What a decent guy. Martin Barn

Yelp
I have never been so disappointed in a local business. Paul was incredibly rude and treated me with the utmost disrespect. First, he tried to rip me off and tell me I needed a new tire when all I needed was the inner tube replaced. Second, I requested a clean up and tune up for the fair price of $60. He claimed "I came back and cancelled that request" which I did not. Poor business skills and lack of customer service.

Yelp
I great neighborhood shop , quite knowledgable, always very reliable, and its not all about the money - always kind and polite even when they are very busy and sometimes they are very busy

Yelp
Lovely little local bike shop. It's refreshing to see a place like this exist, especially since us Rockaway folk love riding us some bikes. Pricewise, I couldn't tell you if it's good because one- I'm not an expert biker, quite the novice and haven't really taken to biking since moving here. And two- who runs bakeshops anymore? It's a speciality store in a well placed area so if it is pricey than that's my rationale behind it. Personally, I enjoyed the service. I shyly entered not knowing much about bikes...alls I knew was that my bike seat was too high and my handles were lose. The man behind the counter quickly attended to me, fixed my problems and than even put air in my tire. Free of charge. I felt guilty for not purchasing anything especially since they were so friendly, that I bought a pink square bike basket for $20.00. The man again, swiftly, mounted it without question. Overall, they are super friendly and efficient. Personally, good service deserves higher prices so I don't see an issue. Perhaps if I was on the bike buying market it would be a difference but I would venture back.

Yelp
Great customer service, I called up and spoke to a gentleman on the phone. I showed up with my wife's bike and he put it together for me that day. I'm sure it usually takes longer than a day but this was my lucky day. Dropped the bike off at noon and my wife rode it home at 430pm. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Additionally their selection of bikes looked great, if you need a bike this would be the place to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Paul's Bike Shop totally saved my bacon while on a long ride out to the Rockaways. Broke a spoke on the Promenade, they fixed it super quick (about 30 minutes), pretty inexpensively for the repair, and even recommended a good bar down the street where i could get a beer while i waited. Honestly the only drawback i see here is that they close at 5pm on Sundays, but that's probably completely justified. Glad i was out early in the day!
google avatar

Paul T.

Yelp
Horrible service took my bike for a tune up..three day later they said my bike was ready. When I picked up the bike. Nothing was done to the bike and I had to say something for them to fix it. But they gave me a discount for my troubles.

Yelp
I just had a great experience here! Took my bike in to have a child seat installed after the other local shop told me it couldn't be done on my particular bike model. It was not a problem at all for Paul though - it was completed in the time frame promised. The shop staff also happily showed us how to adjust the child seat and gave advice on how to safely load our son into the carrier. I will definitely come back here for all of my future bike needs. Thank you Paul!
google avatar

Dawn H.

Yelp
Stopped in to check out a new bike, very helpful, explained the differences, made recommendations based on how much I will be riding, pleasure to talk to. I will be going in to buy my new bike. :)

Yelp
Stopped by with a bike emergency. I accidentally deflated my rear tire and the standard pump I had was no good for road bikes. Luckily I found the shop nearby. I didn't want to drive out of the Rockaways because I just paid the toll to get in. I asked for a bike pump that fits road bikes and the owner gave me two options. I asked if an adapter was possible to the standard pump and he gladly give that option. I am new to the bike thing and had trouble pumping my road bike. Owner even showed me how to insert the adapter onto the valve. He saved my day. Great service at the shop.

Yelp
Paul's Bicycle Shop has changed owners so there is no Paul there anymore. DO NOT TRUST THIS NEW OWNER WITH YOUR BIKE! I loved this bicycle shop and trusted them to care for my high end bike And they did so with expertise but the new owner is not to be trusted. I took my bike there to have inner tubing fixed. He called and asked To take off the protective chaincase. I should have said no! No one has ever needed to take that off ever! To make a long story short the gears were screwed up. I had to take the bike back. He charged more money, claimed to have fixed it. Then said how the inner tubings I gave him were wrong size and broke. More money. By the time I got my bike back it had more problems than when I took it in. I had to go to a different bike shop who told me that the enclosed low maintenance hub gear was screwed with and would need replacing. Basically this hack took apart a part of my bike that should not have been touched and ruined a great trouble free bike. I went there for a superficial problem and got back a broken bike.

Deborah D.

Yelp
Paul took great care of my Suncrusher! I was taking a ride from Breezy Point . I developed a flat tire. Stopped at Paul's, he fixe the flat while I waited. Great guy!
google avatar

Maile H.

Yelp
I decided to ride my bike from Bushwick to Riis Park and I got a flat on my way. I made it to the Rockaways and found Paul's bicycle shop where they not only fixed my flat, but helped me out with my bent derailer, tuned up my brakes, and gave me a rental bike on the house while I waited for my bike to be fixed. The staff are the nicest people, and I would definitely use this shop again.

Eric W.

Yelp
I went to Paul's bike shop on Beach 116th street because I broke my chain and my gear changer. Paul told me that I would need to replace the chain and the gear changer. He said it would be ready the next day as to my surprise he had it done in one hour the same day.He charged me $70.00 for everything. Paul's bike shop is worth going to if you need a place that is reasonable. I checked around and he is the best. Paul showed me the chain had distress because of the gear changer going into the spokes.

Yelp
I went in looking for a new bike light and I found one .pauls worker put it on and it was still wobblly when he was done.then I remember I hit a big bump that what I'm thinking made it fall off. A couple hours later I realized it wasent there no more. Then I went in and told them about it. I asked for 50 percent discount for another one. He said no I can't do anything about its not my fault. Then I asked for my money back or a store credit and no again.

Yelp
My friend got a flat in far rockaway. While on the train to Pauls I noticed I had a staple in my tire - also flat. Bad luck I guess. After trekking around far rockaway and the train ride we made it to Paul's on an 85 degree, 93% humidity day. $20 per flat repair was a bit much. We left and got 1.3 miles down the road (142nd from 116th) and my friend got a flat in the same tire. We called thinking maybe they can send someone to us so we didn't have to make that long trip via walking in that heat. They told us to just bring it back. Didn't charge for the second flat but recommended a new tire. Why didn't he recommend a new tire the first time? Anyway, we finally are on our way home. I felt that my front tire was riding my brake a bit. Wasn't sure why. I brought it to Roy's the next day in Brooklyn- the guy asked if I took my front wheel off because it was put back on loose. Unbelievable.
google avatar

Meg A.

Yelp
I spent a lot of money on a bicycle repair that was not fixed, better or satisfactory. My experience with Paul was brief and disappointing after returning my still broken bike. He did not offer customer services, or have a concern to make amends but was interested in charging me again. I would walk before returning to this shoddy bike store.
google avatar

Esther C.

Yelp
Paul's Bicycle Shop - Service was quick and excellent - Fixed both our bikes for a reasonable price - he undid the damage done by Sandy!!!!!!!! BIKES AT LAST. They ride like a dream.

John Quincy L.

Yelp
Great staff, very helpful. You get what you pay for! I am recommending Paul's to everyone I know.
google avatar

Nataliya Y.

Yelp
Great Service!!! Replaced a tube in no time. Very friendly and thank God for them being open on Sunday.
google avatar

P H.

Yelp
Paul is helpful and does great work. Nice laid back store! I've brought my bikes for tune ups and flat repair for years. I've never been disappointed.

Reva Y.

Yelp
Was very pleased with the help I got from Chris today. Didn't buy my bike there but he was open to tuning it and helping me work out the kinks. ...

Energyrum K.

Yelp
Rented bikes from them , twice in the last few weeks, great shop, reasonable prices , $20 bucks for 3 hours , pleasant and courteous owner and personnel, recommended
google avatar

Vadim K.

Yelp
have no idea how they can stay in business with such horrible service. could have done the work myself and saved myself the money.

Joey G.

Yelp
I Never write reviews, but I stopped in to Pauls bicycle shop and was greeted by a friendly gentlemen who was quick to help me. All I needed was an inner tube and a nut that was missing from the back of my bike. He gave me a new nut for free and answered all my questions about my bike without making me feel pressured to buy anything else. It wasn't until I was walking out and asked for his name that I discovered he was the THEE Paul. I'll definitely be supporting this shop as long as I'm riding.

Bob H.

Yelp
I've been meaning to post this for years but I cannot say enough good things about Paul and his continued maintenance of my Sun bike with fat tires. He customized it a few months ago and added a gear to it and it's like owning a whole new bicycle. Maybe you can find a cheaper price at some big-box store but you will not get the same kind of care and attention than you will from Paul. We are very lucky to have Paul and his shop in the Rockaways.

Darius F.

Yelp
Passed by this shop and saw a unicycle for sale that I was interested in, I wanted to try it out and the attendant told me "no test rides allowed", really?? Who would buy a bike or unicycle, without test riding it? Ridiculous! They must be doing well to throw away potential sales.

Yelp
paul's bike shop is totally exceptional - and finally a real bike shop here in rockaway ! for a new store - you would think that paul has been here for years - i have had so many regular and stupid things happen to me on some bike rides making it necessary to get it to pauls shop - he and his staff get my bike back to me very fast .. even if a part is needed. all repairs have been done fast and RIGHT - i only have to bring it back because i did something else - i give 5 stars !

lara f.

Yelp
I rode my bike all the way from Greenpoint to Rockaway Beach and got a flat tire. Paul's bike shop was extremely fast and helpful. Later on that day, I got another flat while still in the area and went to their shop 10 minutes before close. They took my bike in again and gave me a new tire. Again, extremely efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this bike shop.
