Stop by before the baseball game to stock up on treats. This place didn't disappoint! It's large enough to have a thorough selection, but not so big that you feel overwhelmed. The person working had great fashion and a great personality. 6/1/2025. A definite must do when downtown. (Plus, a lot of people don't know this, but you can bring food into Progressive Field! Candy, whole pizza, a rack of lamb... anything!).

My kids had always wanted to check out a Rocket Fizz, so when we stumbled upon this one, we had to go in! They were thrilled with how many candy options and nostalgic sodas there were. The layout of the store was well defined and the staff was also very friendly. Definitely a nostalgic blast from my childhood from a candy perspective!

Google
Love this store, my son has us stop everytime were in Cleveland. Great selection of unique candies, snacks and sodas. We love the mystery bags, you never know what you're gonna get.

Google
Cute place, funny & cool pops. Neat place to visit, building is old, but clean & organized

Google
They have a good selection of candy even old school candy I haven't seen for a long time! The people behind the counter are very nice and always help me whenever I need help. I like the maple root beer soda and the root beer barrels! Check it out for yourself! You won't be disappointed

Google
There was no an option to give no stars but if there was that’s what I would’ve done. Prices are extremely too high. Staff is super rude and inconsiderate. The candy was pretty much picked through so there were not a lot of options. They charged me extra for candy that said it was cheaper than what it was on the back. By the way maybe you should turn down the heat because the jolly ranchers were melted.

Google
Such a cute candy shop . Everything is so organized. I loaded up on some slat water taffy. They carry some very unique flavors like pickle, sangria, margarita, cookie dough, and horchata to name a few. Tons of soda pop flavors.

Google
Great little shop downtown Cleveland. Full of candy and various nostalgia like comics and aliens. Wide selection of bottled sodas in various brands and flavors. We purchased freeze dried candies, bag of taffy and hard canndy. I got a fruit punch sour puss soda! The kids love this store. If you have children i highly recommend 💚💯💯

Yelp
Great bright store. So many candy options. They have Cleveland memorabilia and nostalgic drinks and signs. The selection is vast and I'm sure you can find something you will like.

Yelp
Who doesn't love sweets/candy?!?! Well, I met someone once who hates cake but no one is judging her :) As for me, give me all the chocolate (milk not dark). Let's get into this review.... I visited for the first time on a Friday evening in early October 2024. I never knew this candy store existed so it was fun to check it out. I had just finished dinner at Pizza 216 down the street so as I was walking back to my car, I stumbled upon Rocket Fizz. My friend who was with me has been here before and said she loved the candy shop. We briefly decided to stop in to browse, mostly because I was curious and wanted to visit. All the bright colours from the outside looking inside enticed me to enter and will probably entice you too (see my attached photos). SWEETS GALORE -- If you enjoy sweets/candy then this is your sugar heaven! You'll find all sorts of chocolate, soft drinks (soda/pop), chips, gum, etc. They sell many drinks and chips from Asia that have unique flavours (something you may find in Japan or Korea) so I thought that was cool. I saw plenty of bubble tea drinks and traditional soft drinks such as Coke and orange flavoured drinks. I only browsed for about 5 minutes with my friend but I ended up buying some taffy's (chewy sweets) which cost 15 cents each. Most of their chocolate bars were an average cost of $6+ for a small size. I also bought a "Hubba Bubba" (bubblegum) that is shaped as tape so it's called Bubble Tape. If you have kids or a niece and nephew, bring them here as they will love it even though your dentist might not. I had fun browsing and while I wanted to buy a unique sweet/candy item, I just did not feel like spending too much money right then. The two store associates working that evening were friendly and answered all my questions. I'll certainly be back as I'm a sweet tooth. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 128/150 total reviews in 2024 - 777 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 9 December 2024

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday and it was empty inside. It could be the area as downtown that was dead. I really like sweets so I had to check it out. They have all different types of sweets that you can imagine but double the price of what it would normally costs. I can get it cheaper at Walmart or Target. But I decided to get the salt water taffy as that seemed like a great deal as it was 15 cents a piece. I liked the different flavors thar were offered, but I limited myself. Overall it was nice walking around and seeing what they have.

Yelp
Your favorite childhood soda and candy memories will resurface when you visit Rocket Fizz Soda and Candy Store. They have a fantastic assortment of candies and drinks and sodas. In addition, the store offers collectibles and antique signs for sale. Fantastic entertainment for the entire family!

Yelp
Candy, chocolate soda; oh my! So much of everything some familiar items and some new items as well I've never heard of before. Friendly service. They had Clark bars here! Street parking.

Yelp
Super fun experience with a unique candy and soda selection! There's definitely something here for everyone! I think it's a great experience to come in and look for something new to try or maybe even look for a candy you can't find elsewhere. Customer service is excellent! I went in, I was greeted immediately, and felt like I was included in on their conversation from across the store- super welcoming! I even asked a question because a certain candy popped into my head and I asked if they had it (they did!) and the employee was able to help me! Fun experience!

Yelp
What an awesome shop! Stopped in while walking around Cleveland for the night before a podcast show. There is a VAST selection of fizzy drinks to choose from as well as every vintage candy you can imagine. They had so many types of candies I can never find anywhere else and tons of uncommon flavors.

Yelp
My kids really loved this shop. There are one million soda flavors -- my kids got "grass soda" and bought "mustard soda" for a friend. Super-cute decor - lots of photo ops - and all kinds of current, rare, and old-fashioned candy.

Yelp
Rocket Fizz is a franchise w/ this being the only Cleveland spot. They have every possible soda flavor you could ever think of. Not to mention the tons of weird candy & chocolate concoctions they sell. Lotsa funny stuff. Whole store was 25% off. I heard they might be moving store closer to playhouse square. We bought some cool coconut cubes in mango water called Jubes. They are like nothing I've tried. Sweet slippery & gummy. Also got several soda varieties on clearance. Prices can be kinda high but it's all novelties. Only complaint is location on Euclid, so almost no parking.

Yelp
My inner 12 year old was in MAJOR heaven in this store. I saw ALL of the candies I ate when I was growing up. I'm so happy I walked past this store and decided to go in. The store will not disappoint you. They have everything you could possibly want from different flavored kit-kats to Pokémon candy!!! There is literally something in here for every candy lover!!! ENJOY!!!!

Yelp
We discovered this place on a whim just walking around downtown. This place is awesome if you're into the nostalgic feeling of being a kid again in your favorite candy shop. They have so many different candies that I haven't seen in at least 20 years. Their selection of soda pop is unmatched, my fiancé and I saw at least 100 different flavors ranging from absolutely delicious to make you raise your eyebrow out of crazy curiosity. We opted for a Pirates Piss (tasted like juicy fruit gum), a strawberry cheesecake, a mustard flavor (and yes, it's like straight out of a squeeze bottle), and blueberry rocket. All of them were great in their own way and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had a great experience going here and ordering some fun stuff for my family members. Brought back so much memories to see and order some good candy. Will definitely be going back

Yelp
Imagine every soda ever made and then check out Rocket Fizz to witness it. The entire perimeter of the store is loaded with soda and a large selection of candy. If you can think of a soda I can almost guarantee that they have it there. I personally came here for the candy and was impressed with the selection that they had. I love trying different candies that can't be found in a typical grocery store or gas station and if you do too then I would check this place out. There is also a selection of toys and wall art available for purchase.

Yelp
I would seriously go to Cleveland just to visit this amazing candy shop. It's huge. It's a happy place. It's fun. It's SO colorful. It's overwhelming. It's dangerous. The varieties of sodas lined up perfectly all around the store make up the "base" of the decor...providing a place for the eye to go before meandering up the many layers of other delightful offerings. There's loose bin candy. There's retro candy from back in the day. There are oddball things...like crunchy crickets (no, thanks!). My personal favorite? The area with the overseas/non-American candies that are nearly impossible to find stateside. I was on my way to visit family...so when I stumbled on the gummy pizzas and the chocolate eggs with the "surprise" candy toy inside...I grabbed 7 of each (one of each per kid). The gummy pizzas were adorable..little pieces of (fake) fruit that the kids demolished as soon as they go their hands on them. We picked up a couple of treats for ourselves...I tried the chocolate mint M&M's and we got a strawberry delfa/broadway roll (which is like a flat, broad, oddly smelling twizzler-like concoction). Yes - the candy purchase was more than dinner for 2. Whatever - totally worth it.

Yelp
This was quite a fun find. So many options for drinks and lot so candy to choose from. Definitely not the largest selection I've seen but it was funt o look around. Not only were there candy but lots of posters and tin signs. Those were for sale too and they added a lot of flair to the location. If you have time you could spend a lot of time choose out candies and sodas to try. One thing I liked was that you could choose 4 or 6 pack of sodas. There's a huge selection , some in the fridge and some not. Definitely a fun spot to stop by.

Yelp
Quirky and fun soda and candy shop in downtown Cleveland. The selection was huge with something interesting everywhere you turn. Bins of self serve candy and tin signs line the walls while floor displays have all kinds of candy and toys from the old to the knew, cute to the silly. The pop selection was also crazy. I get kinda grossed out with these places that have so many bottled sodas because the flavors just get weird. Cucumber, King Kong, I swear we saw a dog slobber flavor. I know they are supposed to be fun but thinking of these flavors doesn't exactly make me want to buy something to eat! Definitely check this place out if you're walking around downtown Cleveland, everyone will find something they like!

Yelp
This is a fun candy store in downtown Cleveland. They have many old school candies and sodas. The stores offers a big selection to choose from. The staff didn't seem very attentive to customers coming and going - didn't greet them or look up from their phones.

Yelp
We were visiting the nearby Arcade when this place caught our eye. Popped inside to become awestruck with everything. The metal signs on the wall. The line of taffy unlined by a multitude of bizarre drink flavors. There were so many things I wanted to buy to bring back home, but I was so high from all the sensory overload that I didn't need a sugar rush on top of it. Bought a few taffy at 15 cents each, quite the deal.
google avatar

Yelp
The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the staff. While there was a younger new guy who was great, the lady that was helping him had no clue what she was doing. They have discounts on 6 packs, 12 packs and cases, but apparently you can't do two discounts, although 6 packs are advertised as one price....a little confusing. Tip: their sodas are cheaper than B.A. Sweetie. With that out of the way........This place was crazy! There are hundreds of different flavors of sodas to try; from banana nut bread to green apple jalapeno. There is something for everyone. They have a nice selection of candy and novelty items. One could spend hours looking at all the different stuff Rocket Fizz has to offer. So "pop" on in and give your taste buds a new experience!

Yelp
This candy shop is so fun and they are so friendly. We got to the store yesterday and they had closed early due to COVID reduced hours. They came in on their day off so we could check out the store before we left from vacation. I would highly recommend checking this place out. So many fun pops and candies! They have some really unique things you just have to see.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried to go on Friday and the store hours on the door showed they should be open. That was a complete NO doors locked and lights off
google avatar

Cara L.

Yelp
This place is so cool! Bottles of soda and old signs line the walls. Oh and they have the best taffy ever! I am not the type of person to seek out taffy or candy for that matter but this stuff is the best I have ever tasted (my boyfriend is a taffy buying/tasting pro). They have so many flavors to choose from and you can fill a bag for $6. I mean really stuff that bag full! This is definitely worth a stop for both children and adults.
google avatar

Jadyn T.

Yelp
wow i've never been to a store like this ever :0 it was the coolest and cutest little place, and we got to try a shirley temple soda that was really good! they have really cool candies, sodas, and items that i had no idea even existed! definitely worth taking a stop at :D

Yelp
If you need a Star Wars Stormtrooper lunchbox, a dashboard Cat Buddha, or Sir Francis Bacon peanut brittle, this is your place. Truly, its impressive how many hilarious, kitschy, novelty and old school items they have. If you're looking for a funny/nerdy/nostalgic gift, look no further. When you enter, you're drawn into a giant table with miscellaneous one of a kind items like Andy Warhol candy bars, Rosie the Riveter figurines, voodoo dolls and other gag gifts. On the diagonal you'll find TV and movie themed items, like Star Wars, Wizard of Oz and Jurassic Park themed lines. Take the time to look at everything up close, because the amount of stuff this store holds is unreal. The walls are lined with sepia posters and tin signs of musicians, concert posters, and movie advertisements. You'll also notice a wide array of global candies, which is pretty cool. The extensive taffy bins are fun for the little ones, who will love reading all the tiny signs to create a bag. Adults might love the vintage soda pop shack, which has countless options of old school sodas. The only downfall to this store is that they do not have Rocket Fizz bags, so if you need a gift bag that is not the flimsy plastic one, you will have to buy a novelty one ($5+). Situated right on the busiest corridor of Euclid Avenue, Rocket Fizz is worth stopping into with the family for some good clean fun.

Bradley S.

Yelp
Very overpriced and limited selection. Visually laid out out to look old time, but no reason to stop in.
google avatar

Kaleigh L.

Yelp
If you have a sweet tooth or teeth, than drop everything and head here NOW! The hunt is over! From your childhood favorites to whatever Willy Wonka just came out with in his factory (thanks Willy), you can find it here. Chocolate, sweet, salty or sour, the rarest candies and treats from then and now are sure to be found here, you need not to look further. But wait, maybe candy isn't your thing, but sodas are, you can still come in and find it all. I am always on the hunt for rare candies that no longer are in your typical grocery stores, but this place has them like sour Razzles; my mouth is watering already.

Teddy D.

Yelp
Not your everyday candy and pop selection, although they have a lot of that stuff too. Fun place to take kids or just get your sugar fix or white elephant gift.
google avatar

Andrey M.

Yelp
Feels I walked into a store that was built in the early 1900s. This store has many unique beverages and candy. It's hard to describe the awesomeness of this store in a review. It seems they have hundreds of different beverages that you won't see anywhere else. Not only do they sell beverages and candy; they have a great selection on toys and pretty cool signs that you could hang on your wall. Instead of reading this review, just go ahead and plan a visit here, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Oh my gosh this place is a step back in time as well as like entering a Ripley's Believe It or Not, with the names of some of these pops and sodas (bloody nose, puke). There was a lot I would have bought for the novelty of it if prices were just a little lower, ie bacon floss, bacon toothpaste etc was very pricey. I was happy to find some great sour candy and a variety of sodas I want to try. Would be a get a place to find gag and birthday gifts. Also check in on Yelp for a free candy bar!
google avatar

Debra V.

Yelp
Holy moly! Retro candy heaven!! Large candy store right in the heart of the Euclid-4th St. area, near the 5th St. Arcade. Fun to search for your favorite candy because you see so many other ones you forgot about. Scattered in are novelty items like chattering false teeth, remote control candy boxes, google eyes. Fun! Retro soda pops, too. Prices are a little high, but enjoy the taste memories. Check in Yelp, and get a freebie candy.
google avatar

Dawn V.

Yelp
Don't miss this stop while shopping the arcades!!! Every candy you can think of plus unique sodas and gifts. Candy from Japan, Tazo from Mexico, old fashioned lemon drops... Whatever you can think of! There's just so much fun in the arcades and this is the pinnacle of bringing out the kid in me!
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
This place is cool and fun, with a lot of imported items that you cannot find anyplace else, such as Cadbury, Japanese kit-kats, and nostalgic candy. They even carry my favorite of Flavigny's pastilles-Violet. There's a ton of variety, and also a huge selection of soda. The one thing that I do not like are the prices...pop rocks over $1.00 per tiny envelope? That same Ritter sport bar offered at target...over $4.00? If your local stores carry what you're looking for (Hershey, licorice, jelly belly, m&m mars candies, wonka, necco, Swedish fish, etc.) get it at your local store as these items are two to three times the price here, for the same thing your grocery store has. I will not be purchasing anything but hard to find imported stuff. It's still a nice, clean fun store with friendly employees, so it's great to take kids!
google avatar

Holly S.

Yelp
Holy candy!!!! My goodness this store has everything and I mean everything. The only thing I would like to see is more options of candy that you can buy by the pound. I would have loved to leave with a single candies as opposed to a whole box or bag of the same thing. What really impressed me is that they had candies that I hadn't seen in years, brought back tons of memories.
google avatar

Kristine C.

Yelp
We were looking for something different and fun. I saw how large selection of sodas and candy they have with memorabilias back in d 50s up to 70s so we thought we's give it a try. Id give it a 4 star for the creativity, selection, and service but 3 because we tried the bacon maple brown soda, it was horrible. Definitely good for gags only. I never dislike a soda like this with an attitude. Yuck! chocolate soda with cacao taste wasnt as bad as the baconator but i still couldn't finish. We would bring friends and would definitely come back still just because they are fun. However, no more adventurous soda tasting for me, would probably stick to the ones that would sound more aceptable like lemon flavor and root beers.

Yelp
For a HUGE lover of candy, it's probably a bad thing that this is next door to my apartment. BUT, for a HUGE lover of candy, it's probably a GREAT thing that this is next door to my apartment :) The entire time I was walking around this shop (I made several laps), I just had the biggest smile on my face! It's bright and happy and just brings you back to your childhood!! From character pez dispensers to bubble tape to candy cigarettes to razzles to moonpies to literally ANY and all types of chocolates and candies you could ever dream to think about, this place may as well have it all! No it's not as big as Sweeties - that couldn't fit downtown, but for it's size, they literally have packed a TON of variety in the store! They also have a ridiculously large soda pop collection (I'm talking anywhere you find candy, theres a shelf of soda pop above or below it!) I found some Fitz's that I used to drink when I lived out in St. Louis, so of course, I had to get some! They also have a frequent buyer card- once you get 8 bottles, you get the 9th for free. The guy explained that it only counts if you buy 1, 2, or 3 because once you start getting packs of 4 or larger, they are already discounted for you. The entire store is lined with vintage tin signs that are also for sale (if I saw correctly, 19.99?? I may be mistaken, though- don't take my word for it). Apparently, this is a chain? I've never heard of it, but I'm glad it's here!! I'm in heaven for sure.

Yelp
Rocket Fizz is a franchised store with about 50 locations throughout the United States. I'm surprised they'd open a store downtown CLE instead of in a suburb. It is near the 5th Street Arcades though. I like candy and sugar, so this place is pretty awesome. It's a dentist's worst nightmare. A good joke would be giving a gift card for this place to the child of a dentist. It's a mixture of soda, candy, gag gifts, and other miscellaneous merchandise for sale. TONS of sodas. TONS of candy. LOTS of gag gifts. Lunch boxes. Signs. The sodas are stocked in individual bottles, so you can buy one, or put together a 4, 6, 8 or 20 pack of whatever combination of sodas you want. they also have a refrigerated tall cooler with sodas. If you know someone who loves root beer or ginger ale/ginger brew or something, this is a good place for them to check out a large number of those types of sodas. They offer a Rocket Fizz brand of sodas as well. A little reminiscent of BA Sweetie Co., they offer candy that you don't see anymore, generally (throwback candy? Is there a term for this?). They also have a Japanese and Asian candy area, and European sweets in case you know someone who is craving something from their home country of Latvia, or wherever. Just kidding. They don't have candy in Latvia.
google avatar

Aries L.

Yelp
Another day, another visit...there were a different group of employees and they were still super nice and helpful. I finally got my hands on the Japanese Kit Kats, pretty expensive ($8) but I have it...ball out lol. I decided to grab the Green Tea Kit Kats (really fracking good) and the Cheesecake Kit Kats...it kind of taste like the White Chocolate Kit Kats and I'm not a fan of white chocolate.

Yelp
Went their with my son on his last day of College. Wholly smokes they had a lot of different candies I could see. We decided to get some taffy to take home since they had a variety of different that I due not see when I get regular taffy. One of the taffy flavors we got where was Stout beer. If we come to Cleveland for a visit we might stop again. Very friendly staff.

Scott S.

Yelp
Great place to bring back memories with all the healthy candy we ate as kids (-: Staff was really friendly and helpful. Recommend to anybody who enjoys candy and nostalgia.
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
This is such a unique little store in the heart of downtown. So many candy choices and lots to see and reminisce about. All of the colors make it really photogenic and fun, and someone did an amazing job with the decor. Candy is a little more expensive than you'd find most places but you're definitely paying for the charm and nostalgia as well as the prime real estate.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
They have a wonderful selection of candies and cold bottled sodas. We had gone to find satellites and it took us 10 minutes, but it was fun to play an informal game of "I spy" for them in the meantime.
google avatar

Courtney F.

Yelp
An awesome store to check out if you are in the Downtown location. The store perfectly embodies the old fashion candy store vibe they are trying to convey and the selection of candies and sodas is incredible unique. Some of the candies they have there are things that I have certainly forgotten about over the years and some of the soda flavors are things I would never even think to see!
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Buzzed from being on E. 4th? Skip on down to rocket fizz and fill your purse with a bunch of sugar you don't need. It will keep the evening moving along nicely. Now hand over that bag of salt water taffy and no one will get hurt.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
This is candy heaven! Just walking around and browsing the variety of unique candy, drinks and gag gifts that they offer is fun in and of itself. There were plenty of candy that I have never heard of or seen before besides here. During my visit, I ended up buying a bag full of saltwater taffy, which was reasonably priced. The staff are also very kind and courteous and are happy to help. Rocket Fizz isn't your ordinary candy store, that's for sure.
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Rocket fizz is a fun and affordable place to shop for candy and other goodies. I adore the lines of soda pop they carry and picked up some flavors to try at home. From Judge Whopner cola to Dragon Drool. They have a huge selection of salt water taffy with the best flavor being Frosted Cupcake. They have candy from around the world and throw back candies. The staff is super friendly and the prices are affordable. It makes you feel like you are a kid in a candy store again.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
Pretty cool! Lots of fun sodas and candy I haven't seen since the mid-1990s (cigar-shaped gum, those wax bottles filled with juice, gummy burgers, etc). Staff was friendly and helpful! Prices were somewhat high but worth it. Definitely a fun place for both kids and adults!
google avatar

Dale S.

Yelp
Rocket Fizz is a place that people who like gags, candy, sodas, and a bunch of other things. If someone were to go in there and not buy anything i'll be surprised because they got all types of candy and some that have 1900's candy so I'll say it I good all around

Michael S.

Yelp
Rocket Fizz is pretty neat and I think it's a great addition to the downtown retail scene. The place is extremely disorganized, hence the four stars. Good luck finding anything on your own because everything is all over the place. To me, it would make sense to group all the Jolly Ranchers products together, Reeses products together, etc. But that is not how it is and I don't think that makes any sense. I also wish they kept more soda flavors in the coolers. My boyfriend and I really wanted to try a green apple flavor but the only ones they had were warm on the shelves. We went with a bubblegum one though which was great. Staff was really friendly too.

Vin T.

Yelp
Great selection. Very friendly staff. And nicely displayed. Be careful with the chocolates, though - sometimes they have either been there too long or got too warm in the store and are chalk white after purchase; if possible, open the package just after purchase and show staff if there's a problem.
