"Rockit Bar & Grill, located in River North, Chicago, helped co-owner Billy Dec become a household name. It closed in 2019 after a 15-year run following Dec's split with his partners." - Ashok Selvam

"River North’s Hubbard Street strip is an epicenter of Chicago nightlife, but it wasn’t that way as recently as 15 years ago. That’s when burgeoning nightclub impresario Billy Dec and his partners opened this restaurant, bar, and late-night magnet, setting off a chain reaction that resulted in a nighttime business boom in the area as well as spawning a powerhouse hospitality group, Rockit Ranch. But in the last couple of years the group splintered: multiple spots closed, Dec split for Nashville and focused on a movie career and other endeavors, and the original Rockit became the sole property of partner Brad Young, who after a second renovation, reopened it with a focus on what made it popular to begin with. Alas the reborn Rockit Bar & Grill didn’t work out, as the River North revolutionary closed for good in July after 15 years, and less than one year after reopening from its final revamp." - Daniel Gerzina

"Rockit Bar & Grill is almost 15 years old and has returned to what made it successful according to Graham Meyer. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, and apps that remain above standard bar food. The Rockit Burger, made with wagyu beef, brie, fried shallots, and date aioli, is its signature dish. The Rockit Booster Super Food Salad is a healthy option. Overall, the restaurant offers a solid dining experience, though it may not reach the heights of its early years." - Jeffy Mai

"Rockit Bar & Grill is reopening today under the ownership of Brad Young, following its closure since January. The venue has undergone a revamp, bringing back its original neighborhood bar and grill vibe with new additions like shuffleboards, vintage motorbikes, and live music. The menu features items like Buffalo chicken mac and cheese and 'Rockit Pockits.'" - Ashok Selvam

Loved brunch here. Tried the biscuits and gravy, lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes, Rancheros and bloody mary. All was very good, like the pancakes best. Our server Jim was very nice and the acoustical guitar is a nice touch on Saturdays.

Overall: A great fall back option for burgers and general pub fare. Nothing mind blowing, but it definitely is a step above the usual. The good: The burgers here, while not mind blowing, are solid, as is the other food. I've had salads, burgers, and several of the apps over time, and they are all pretty good. Food came out hot and quickly and the service is friendly. The atmosphere is neat and obviously music focused. The music playing is also good. The not-so-good: I waiter never brought our non-water drinks until we asked when our food came. The prices are a little high, I can get a better burger for the same prices at many other places in Chicago. Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Food: 8/10

Our group of 4 went on a Saturday night around 9pm. The restaurant downstairs was pretty empty, the bar scene upstairs was a little more poppin but I think because there was a dj and pool tables. We just came for grub so we sat downstairs. Service was slow. The host didn’t really look up or greet us when we walked in. Our waitress acted like we were keeping her there and everything was a problem. She barely returned throughout the whole dinner. The food was decent. I really liked the sweet potato fries (but let’s be honest, it’s not hard to make fries). Surprised since this is on Hubbard street that they wouldn’t have their service put together better.

Great menu selection on all fronts - food, beer, and drinks. Our group had Crunchy @** Chicken with pickle hot sauce, Lamb Burger with truffle fries, and the Chicken Sandwich. All were excellent. Great service, and we made a reservation ahead of time. -1* for bug in my first drink, which they did make me another.

Felt a little separated from the rest of the place as our table was blocked off by a huge wall. Exceptionally expensive as well. I ordered 2 drinks, one I split. My bill was $35. Skull Margarita was good though!

Rockit can open, close, re-open and one thing will never change. Terrible service. The food is pretty good, but should be for the price. Go somewhere else, it’s pretty basic for River North standards.

Their acoustic brunch was a happy surprise! We made a reservation for a Sunday morning so we could brunch & Football and it did not disappoint. Had a great little bloody mary bar and the food was delicious. They were great about letting us keep our table for most of the afternoon to watch some football!

DISCLAIMER: This review is in regard to a visit last summer, it was originally posted on yelp and I’ve only now realized I should share it with google as well. I'll start by saying that the host was super nice, what a great way to start your experience at a restaurant. Our waiter was a bit short and seemed like he wanted to just do his job and nothing more. Their beer/drink menu was limited due to a restock or revamp of some sort but my boyfriend and I were still both able to find something we enjoyed. I ordered the turkey burger and sweet potato fries. Both were amazing! My boyfriend ordered the wings appetizer but as an entree and he was raving about them. They have outdoor seating which is where we sat, it was very relaxing. The inside is beautiful! The atmosphere seemed casual as many people were dressed down (including ourselves).
