Zero Day Filming Locations: Where Does Robert De Niro’s Heartstoppingly Tense New Cyber Thriller Unfold?

Also shown in the series, this YMCA location reinforces the sense of ordinary community life in Nyack, contrasting sharply with the show’s grand political stakes and reminding viewers that the cyber attacks affect regular neighborhoods as much as federal power centers. - Gregory James Wakeman

Had my first private lesson and it completely changed how I feel in the water. I got over my fear of the deep end in just one class! He taught me a perfect freestyle technique — I went from needing 9 strokes to cross the pool to only 4 by the end. I’ve taken lessons at the YMCA in Manhattan and Lifetime before, but he’s easily the most detailed, high-energy, and genuinely invested instructor I’ve ever had. His energy and positivity make you feel safe and confident right away. Highly recommend!I’m

I love YMCA for swim lessons! The facilities are always clean. All amenities included shower, hair dryer, lockers, changing areas, showers! Always clean and safe! Especially when you have little ones. While you wait you can sit back relax and watch them on TV. Caring instructors, everyone is warm and welcoming.

My son started swimming lessons in the summer, and he has enjoyed every visit. He recently began lessons with Instructor Lateef, and I have to say he is one of the best instructors! The kids love his jokes, and his teaching techniques are excellent. Everyone there is very friendly, and the facility is clean and well maintained. It’s a wonderful place to take swimming lessons or join other activities.

Great program to learn swimming, the teachers are friendly and encouraging. Expertly guiding and sometimes pushing through the barriers that I had for myself to swim. Can't wait to make it my daily routine to swim at this well maintained facility. I am grateful to coach Latif for his personal attention in teaching swimming to kids and adults alike.

We’ve had a wonderful experience at the YMCA Nyack! My 4-year-old has been taking swim lessons with Instructor Philip, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress and the overall atmosphere. Philip is incredibly patient, encouraging, and has a great way of connecting with young children. He keeps the lessons fun and engaging while still focusing on safety and proper technique.

I enrolled my 4 y/o daughter in swimming classes at the Y, and it’s been such a wonderful experience. With her new instructor, Latif, she’s grown so much more confidence in just a few short weeks. Watching her in class tonight, learning not only how to swim but how to protect herself in the water, made me so proud. She leaves every class smiling and excited, already asking when she can come back! I’m looking forward to continuing her lessons next month — it’s truly worth every moment, and I encourage every parent to give their child this experience.

Leteef, YMCA swiming instructor is an amazing instructor who brings so much energy and enthusiasm to every class at the YMCA! I had taken swimming lessons at a couple of other places, but Leteef's approach was so different—positive and energetic. If I can't do something, he suggests another method to make it happen. He really helped me get over my water phobia, and for the first time in my life, I feel confident that I can swim. I'm definitely enrolling in another session with Leteef! Thank you, Leteef.

Yelp
Now considering that Nyack is an old comfy town, having a YMCA is amazing! Took a tour today to sign up and it was what we expected. It's in an old building with character and beautiful wood everywhere. They have a good size basketball court and swimming pool. They also classes that are included in the membership and you can't go wrong with the pricing. A family of 4 is about $84 dollars a month and if you break that down it's about $2.80 a day. Go and sign up have a spot for your kids to come and burn some energy. The staff is really cool and friendly.

Yelp
Would recommend a lot of other places for recreation and gym.The manager is very nasty with a bad attitude.out dated equipment and does not keep things orderly. Overall with staff/ equipment.etc your best bet pick another gym

Yelp
Great Facility and services for the Nyack community. The gym is great, pool and sauna there after a workout. My teens love it and meet up after school. They are critical to the youth in our community.

Yelp
Great for local families that just want to have some fun and do things together, but if you are serious about exercise there are other gyms in the area that are 100x better. A new paint job, flooring, new equipment, and a few gallons of deodorizer would go a long way in this place. It seems like a lot hasn't been touched in a decade or two, and this place is riding on the fact that it has a pool, basketball court, sauna and hot-tub to bring in customers. The free-weight section left a LOT to be desired 2 benches, no free squat machine, a handful of cable machines. There are 2 cardio rooms, the one on the top floor isn't even worth looking at - 2 bikes, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and an exceptionally foul smell. There are a few treadmills and bikes down in the free-weight room (basement) also, but nothing to write home about. The pool is the saving grace of this place - it is only wide enough for 2 lanes, and when I jumped in around 9pm on a Wed night there were about 6 folks going about my pace (slow). Parking is a huge problem in Nyack, although the HSBC bank across the street allows parking in their lot at certain hours. The location and pool are exactly what I want, but I can't take the rest of the facility, especially at the price they are asking $53 a month +$50 joining fee. Even if this place were free I'd probably find another gym to workout, and just come here to swim.

Yelp
Five stars for thier teen program. Tthere is nothing in the way of teen oriented activities in this county that aren't faith based or designed to bleed you dry. It takes moxie to be dedicated to the youth of this area the way the program director is. No stars for the general public cost of this YMCA's membership. Too many fees associated with joining and even after paying for membership.

Yelp
This is pretty disappointing especially if you have a family. The pool is really small and there is only 3 hours dedicated a week for kids to swim. The place could use a remodel on the inside. Its in a great location and I love the building but they really need to get updated.

Yelp
Member since 2014. Friendly staff, up to date fitness equipment, cardio room upstairs, weight room with cardio downstairs. Nice place to lift and get fit. I've been a member of NYSC and Planet Fitness locally, and found them to be overcrowded and unfriendly places with boorish, rude staff. The Y, locally and nationally, is one of the few places in America still dedicated to the idea of social responsibility, civic pride and community building, not just the dollar.

Yelp
This is the most dumpy and dingy fitness place I've ever visited. The building is old, smells, dirty and most of the staff are rude and disrespectful. The life guard named Mike was very rude and unfriendly. He did not know what he was doing. He talked very loud and made you feel uncomfortable. He could not deal with a problem, what he did when he had a problem was just walked away and called somebody else. He could not give help first before ask for help from somebody else. One time one of my family members had an accident in the pool. Mike was not paying attention to the pool. I called Mike 3 times to get help from him to come. On being alerted he casually walked over. When he came , he did not offer any help. He did not know what to do and he looked confused. Finally I helped my family member by my own. I could not believe it, how incompetent he was. When the senior vice president Maire came she was not friendly and was annoyed.. The rest room in the front was always wet and smelled. One Sunday morning, I smelt feces from that restroom, the smell was very strong and disgusting. The staff from the front closed the rest room after I told her about the smell. The family swim is always crowded and wild, kids jumping around and throwing balls and hitting each other with the balls. When jumping they were not careful and on numerous occasions would come close to colliding with others. The life guards paid no attention to this safety hazard. It was very scary. This is a pool where someone could drown. You can't swim in family swim because fear of your safety. The lifeguards are just sitting there and watching and it was like there was no lifeguard present. There is nothing good about this swimming pool. The pool was dirty, there was bunch of hairs.People spitting, coughing, urinating into the pool. The lockers room was also dirty, in the lockers there was dust, liked no body ever cleaned it and smell. The floor was always wet and slippery and for the elderly could fall if they were not be careful. I witnessed kids fall and slipped while they were running around. Finally I canceled my membership. There are a lot of choices out there. I can find a pool that is multiple times better than this pool. A pool where i would rather not deal with all the aggravation. And feeling uncomfortable with the staff and their rudeness. When I shared my experience about this pool with my friends who joined the membership before, they agreed and they already canceled the membership before I did. Nyack YMCA is losing a lot of their memberships and now I can see why.
