Words cannot express how grateful we are for Jeni and Rocklands Winery. My partner and I decided to have our marriage legalized soon after the 2024 election results. With short notice, Jeni was all in when helping us plan for a last minute ceremony. Her professionalism and just kindness made us so comfortable and excited for such a special day. Rocklands made everything a breeze with how beautiful the space is already. We brought some additional flowers but Jeni had decorated with bud vases throughout. The vintage furniture already staged, gives the space such an effortlessly cool vibe. We were able to place things directly on the wooden tables/furniture not needing any additional linens. The property is gorgeous and we are in LOVE with the photos we were able to take. Jeni made this so EASY and I couldn't recommend her and the venue more to anyone looking for a classic, effortless, and picturesque day. THANK YOU Jeni!

We truly enjoyed be at Rocklands Farm Winery. The staff were amazing and the owner was very friendly. We spent about three to four hours just relaxing. We even purchased four bottles and I are enjoying a bottle of Montevideo here in Colombia. Our friends here in Colombia are enjoying the wine.

My favorite local winery. The staff are fantastic, the setting is authentic, beautiful, and peaceful. It’s hard to believe it’s not that far away from civilization because it feels so far from normal life. The wine is unique and delicious. I always leave with a case of my favorites for gifting. You feel connected to the space and the growers and the makers when you go here. Highly recommend!

Google
I had 100 of our clients at the winery for a client event this past weekend. Jeni did a great job helping me set everything up and was super helpful the day when I forgot little things like scissors or a speaker for music. The barn was a great area for our event and everyone really enjoyed the outside space as well. We opted for the wine tour with 40 of our clients and received great feedback of how knowledgeable and passionate the owner was about the winery. If you're looking for a spot to host your next event I would highly recommend Rocklands Farm Winery.

I have taken some wedding photos at this location, so I am very familiar with it. I recently brought my wife, and she also enjoyed it. The overall atmosphere was great, and it's a lovely place for brunch or lunch with friends and family. I will definitely be returning soon.

Words cannot express how much I love this place. Seating options for everybody, always family friendly, and everybody from staff to customers are so happy to be there. I’ve been a regular at Rocklands since 2023, (Which isn’t that long, but it feels like a lifetime). There’s no winery I’d rather spend my time and money at. You’ve seen the others in the area, Windridge, Sugarloaf, etc. Nobody will make you feel more like family than the staff at Rocklands Farm. There’s no stuffiness or pretentiousness, just people who love wine and want you to have the best experience possible. It’s all low-intervention wine, so no need to worry about a hangover. Drink up and enjoy your time. I’ve been coming since I found it, and will be returning as often as I can. Special shoutout to Greg and Allyson (I hope that’s how it’s spelled, if it’s not I’m sorry) and everybody else on the Rocklands team, keep doing what you’re doing and making life better for everybody! P.S. RIP Sungold, hopefully there’s a 2026 run!!

Google
Amazing day spent here 😊 Was certainly a hot summer day. The farm is stunning. Offered a lot of books beneath the trees and seating to hold a nice picnic. The wines were all fantastic. Lots of natural wine options. Amazing flavor and overall just don’t have so much extra gunk in them. We were treated wonderfully. Lots of knowledgeable staff like Francesca, and Greg. We’re able to taste a plethora of wines. Took a few bottles home we enjoyed them so much. Cannot wait to adventure back

Google
The most family-friendly winery I’ve been to! Friday nights are our favorites … I get to enjoy a glass of sparkling chambourcin, the kids can run around, and we all get to enjoy dinner from one of the delicious food trucks. 🙌🏻

Donyiel C.

Yelp
*Updated Review* Still a 5 star rating for me! Was here over the weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday for my cousin. Greg and the team did an amazing job accommodating the large party! Most folks in the group hadn't been here before and they were impressed with the winery and the service and most importantly, the wine! We enjoyed the pizzas and the Anna Rose! Woot! Thank you Rocklands for the hospitality. Happy Holidays!!

Yelp
Fun and nice staff. Winery has nice scenery for taking pictures and nice fire pits outside to keep you warm. They have good spots inside as well. The wine is good. I got a wine flight with two reds and white. All were good and the staff will make helpful suggestions if your unsure. Food they had a food truck that was serving topas and paella. I got the seafood paella it was flavorful and tasty. Was well balanced and a nice amount of spice to savory. For the price I thought it was small but not a big deal. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful winery that I'd recommend coming to. The staff members are incredibly friendly. We had one icon that was a retired lawyer who was super helpful in helping my friend and I figure out the wines we wanted. She informed us that they specialize primarily in dry wines and let us try a couple before deciding what we wanted for our flight. A flight of 3 wines cost about 18 which is reasonably priced. The cider was not my favorite but my friend did enjoy it. I liked the red wine suggested and the white wine we ordered was also pretty good. Another plus is they have food trucks nearby and some cheese, crackers, and hummus you can purchase. It can get a little crowded but my friends and I were able to find a nice spot to sit outside.

Yelp
We came here because we love holistic farming, wine, good food, and good times. To be transparent, I do not think wine from this area is anywhere close to wine from the West Coast, Europe, or South America (Argentina and Chile). This is a working farm that only opens to the public on the weekends. The day we went, they had an Argentine barbecue (called a churrasco) vendor whose food was amazing. There is plenty of seating, even though you can't make a reservation (unless you are having a big party or something). Because it's a working farm, the views are not as beautiful as those at other wineries. Still, the low-intervention wines were great compared to the others in the area we have tried. The service was great, and we had a very nice time just hanging out, sipping on some wine, and eating Argentine meat and sausages. They also had a playground for the kids. Definitely a place to come with friends just to relax and have a nice afternoon.

Domonique G.

Yelp
I visited this winery with a group of friends for a birthday the weekend before Thanksgiving. We had a great time! I got a flight of wine which consisted of: 2021 Montevideo (bold red), 2021 Fieldwork (white), and a sparkling rose. They were all great. It was hard to choose which was one was my favorite. I'm normally not too keen on bold reds. I'm still baby stepping into bolder reds but this was a great first step! There are heat lamps provided throughout the landscape as well as a heated dining area but overall I can't wait to visit again when it's warmer outside. I would like to walk around the property more.

Jasmine W.

Yelp
This is a nice place to chill with friends and try new wine. I visited during the winter and there is heated seating inside the upstairs barn and there is seating outside next to fire pits and heating lamps. The staff was very friendly and explained all the wine options. I thought the flight of wine was very reasonable, which had 3 options for $18. There were also nice food options, we ordered from the food truck outside and a charcuterie board that the winery puts together

Yelp
BLUF: Nice venue in the MD countryside not too far from suburbia & the city. A bit pricey for tasting flights. If the pours were for actual flights & not just tasting, I'd give this place a full five stars. Staff were helpful, attentive, polite. _ood choices limited, but the pizza from the truck smelled & looked good. Pie vendor onsite was pricey but their pies sold well...nice people, too! Wines were decent. For me, better reds than whites but sparkling was refreshing on a super hot day. Seating indoors & out. Umbrella tables. When it gets busy on the weekends, not enough seating & be aware for those who may have difficulty walking on uneven surfaces, a lot of the property is on a hill, grassy areas, or gravely paths. A nice afternoon spent with friends. Sipping wines, enjoying a picnic, and catching up. Rocklands is a great venue for this & it looks like a great place to do this in the evening, too. They have lighted areas close to the barn. If you're a local, this seems like a great place to hang out often. If you're outside the immediate area, it was worth an hour's drive. Just driving out to the farm is a beautiful experience. Be warned, as you enter the property, there are very narrow roads, so drive carefully! Enjoy good times at this quaint little winery!

Alexis T.

Yelp
Cute farm and winery. Unfortunately wine is below par but the beer might be better. The food trucks had pretty good options which might rotate. A good spot for a festive day out to enjoy some nature. The servers at the tastings stations were helpful and patient.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
A friend wanted to try out Rocklands and we drove out there on a Sunday in February. We started out with a tasting and really enjoyed the wines but it was very sloooooooooow. There was only one staff member doing the tastings and she was handling almost 12 guests at once. It would have been great to have another staff member there to help out and keep the pace going. While the pours were generous and the wine was good, it was definitely the longest tasting I've done. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I had packed us a Trader Joe's feast so we grabbed a table outside and some wines by the glass and sat for a few hours and it was glorious. It's a nice sized property with a variety of seating and they also have cheese, charcuterie, chips, etc. to buy if you didn't bring your own snacks. The only bummer was that I couldn't bring my pup but we did see the winery cat wandering about so I guess that makes sense!

Yelp
Hidden gem! We finally stopped by Rocklands Farm Winery, which is secluded and spacious in the middle of Maryland's MoCo. There is ample parking, and lots of indoor/outdoor seating. We made a reservation on a fall Saturday, but it was so slow that they let us stay much longer than our reserved time. There are lots of wine options: tours, flights, bottles (affordable @ as low as $25). The wine flavors vary and you'll very likely find what suits your palate. There are also good options, and when we were there it was Mediterranean. And of course, we met Paws, the resident cat that immediately took to me and hubby and stayed with us for almost half an hour -- he is also so respectful and gets social cues for when we wanted to stretch a little/moved to other customers. The staff was super helpful with recommendations and general info/directions on the winery. Definitely stop by and make it a trip for family, friends, lovers. Also kids friendly!

Yelp
We LOVE Rockland Farms and while I'd been meaning to write a review for awhile, our most recent visit last weekend in the November 70 degree temps with the GORGEOUS foliage just really added to our love! I even joined the wine club so we're already excited about going to collect our bottles in a few weeks (I got a follow up post card which was such a cute touch thanking me for joining!)! Their wine is very tasty and low intervention, which I really like. I always get a glass of their cider when in season- it switches up regularly! So far the blackberry was my favorite. My favorite drinking wine there is the Anna's Rose. The setting is beautiful and I do appreciate the "adults only" space. Not that I don't love kids, I just don't often love drinking with them. Ya know? I do wish we could bring the pup but I totally get it as there are other animals that live there (hi, Paws- the cutest tuxedo kitty!). Maybe one day they can do a dog day ;-) They have a great selection of charcuterie items available and there is always a darn good food truck parked and ready to go. You can also bring outside food if you wish (and they were kind enough to hold our cake in their fridge for us!). Just really quality people that work there, quality wine they serve and a beautiful location. TIP: get there right when they open if you want to have your pick of spots- they fill up QUICK!

SuJin C.

Yelp
It is SUCH a quintessential hidden gem! Very friendly staff and beautiful farm with delicious wines. All the workers were very knowledgeable and passionate about wine and winemaking. All the wines fully ferment and thus are all dry wines. There are few wines that are more fruity and give a perception of sweetness but do not actually contain any residual sugar! Private tours are available on weekends for free! :)

Mike P.

Yelp
Rocklands Farm Winery was a super cool little stop in the Maryland wine circuit. The tasting room is a neat cellar type building with ample bar space. They had a food truck on my stop, which was fun, but the stars here are the wines and the servers. Fantastic people made this visit an absolute treat, but I LOVED several of the wine offerings, including the Montevideo, Bruner, and Albariño.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Lovely winery in Montgomery County, MD! Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and delicious unique wines. We stopped by yesterday to enjoy a bottle of orange wine. The process of keeping the skins on white grapes during winemaking process similar to how red wine is made. We felt right at home during our visit.

Michelle N.

Yelp
Rocklands is great for the atmosphere. I haven't been in a while but I only give it 4 stars because of accessibility and I'm not a huge fan of their wine offerings. If you're into white wines and dry wines, you'll enjoy it - but if you're into sweet wines, Windridge May be a better fit. The last time I went, it was perfect because it was COVID and it was during the week and nobody had really emerged so I'll update this review as I plan to return over the next couple weeks. Lots of areas of kids to just go wild and the drive there is beautiful!!!! They always have a good food truck feature on the weekends too. Definitely worth the visit for family or friends. For anyone in the local area - it is a must for the agri tourism aspect - between Rocklands and Butler's Orchard - these locations are just MoCo gems that must be in your list.

Bella J.

Yelp
I first came here cause of a Yelp event and made it my business to come here again. 1. The gauchito adds an extra layer of awesomeness to this place as their meat is very good. 2. Wine is good, not the best, but for the experience it is great 3. Service: amazing. Nicest people ever 4. Kid friendly 5. Live music on Friday, but I was unlucky to come during the week where some group of people play stringed instruments together. They are a clique and don't have any intent to perform for anyone or welcomes it, which was a bummer as live music would have been great. Check their calendar and avoid the week like this. Go when there is a real band performing

Chanel C.

Yelp
This winery is so cute, especially in the fall. The service is really great and every person that works here is super friendly. They have food trucks outside almost every time I have come here which is nice. They also have some small snacks for sale in the winery. They have indoor and outdoor areas to sit here which is nice.

S D.

Yelp
I enjoy visiting this winery. My favorite is the Anna Rosé; it is labeled as a "dry wine," but it's quite pleasant for those who appreciate Rosé. I would recommend giving it a try. The ladies working there were very nice and friendly. I will definitely return with my friends next time.

Diane S.

Yelp
Such a "hidden gem" off a beaten path, yet close to major cities and roadways in Western Montgomery County. Staff is attentive, knows their wines and makes you feel welcome.

John L.

Yelp
This detailed review lists the products and activities available at the farm. I have included a review of 9 wines. Guided tours of the farm and vineyard are available by reservation. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. They are open Wednesday and Thursday from 1 pm - 7 pm, Friday from 1 pm - 9 pm, Saturday from noon - 8 pm, and Sunday from noon - 6 pm. They have live music occasionally. Check their events section for time and date. There is a food vendor outside in a nearby parking lot. They are present on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Leashed service dogs are allowed on the property. All other dogs are not allowed.    The farm building has wine, a variety of nonalcoholic drinks, charcuterie, gelato, local snacks, T-shirts, sweatshirts, throw blankets, wine tote bags, honey oatmeal goat milk soap, and corkscrews They sell different cuts of beef, lamb, and chicken. They are all vacuum-sealed and frozen. We bought a pack of lamb loin chops. They were tender and moist after a good searing and pan frying. They had a hint of gamey flavor but were very good tasting overall.    Wine is available by the glass, bottle, flight (3 wines), or wine tasting (6 wines). The types of wines they have are reds, whites, sparkling, rosé, and orange. My wife and I tried the wine tasting and a flight of white wines. The selection of wines in the tasting will change according to availability. Here are the 6 wines in the tasting. 1) 2021 Ancestry Pet Nat is a Chardonnay made via the Ancestral method. It is a sparkling wine with 11% ABV. It has citrusy and tangy notes with light carbonation and a light body. 2) 2020 Graze is a Grüner Veltliner Blend with 10.5% ABV. It is a medium-bodied white wine with notes of fruit, white pepper, and oak. 3) 2021 Anna's Rosé is a dry rosé with 11.3% ABV. It is moderately dry and light-bodied with notes of fruit and a hint of acidity. 4) 2020 Hillside is a Petit Verdot Blend with 12.1% ABV. It is a red wine that is medium-bodied with notes of licorice, oak, tannin, and herb. 5) 2021 Rockridge is a red wine made from Blaufränkisch grapes (11.1% ABV).  It is medium-bodied with oak, tannin, herbal, and spicy notes. 6) 2021 Cast is a red wine made from Petit Verdot grapes (12.5 % ABV). It is medium-bodied with tannin, peppery, oak, herbal, and floral notes.    The wine flight provides 3 types of wine of your choice. Here are the 3 that we tried. 1) 2021 Cider is a white wine cider made from Gold Rush Apples, Petit Manseng, and Vidal Blanc (10.5% ABV). It was slightly dry with notes of apple and citrus. 2) 2020 Sungold is a dry white wine made from Skin-Macerated Petit Manseng grapes (12.4% ABV). It was full-bodied with a bright acidity. It had notes of fruit and oak. 3) 2021 Fieldwork is a white wine made with Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay (11.9% ABV). It was light-bodied with citrus, herbal, and grassy notes. It was slightly dry with a bright acidity.    They have a wine club called Cellar Club. To join, you pick a level of commitment. There are 6 levels and each level requires a purchase of a certain number of bottles. The choices are 3, 6, or 12 bottles. You purchase every 3 months. Your wine choices include reds or winemaker's selection. Membership includes discounts on all wines and tastings, member only events, and exclusive benefits.    The customer service personnel for the farm are all located in the farm building. The food truck is a business that is not owned by the farm. You can walk into the building and just look around. The employees are usually behind the counters. The service was polite, helpful, informative, and friendly. When you make a purchase, you can provide them with an email address. I received a $10 discount on any purchase through my email! Nice! You can explore the 2nd floor of the building and the grounds of the farm on your own. Stay out of the areas marked, "employees only" and crop areas. This is a small family vineyard with a variety of activities and products that make for a great day of relaxing fun. So, give them a visit whenever you feel the need for some calmness and relaxation.

Yelp
Cute date spot - and right next to Homestead Farms. Note that it is first-come first-serve, so it can be tricky to get a table but they have quite a slew of picnic tables for bigger groups to sit at. Their wine is really good and that it has the right amount of floral and fuzziness to it, which I happen to really like, especially in the summer. They also have a small selection of fresh meats available for purchase, which is great because Rocklands farm is right next to Homestead Farms. You could get all your vegetables at Homestead Farms and then pop over to the spot for some meats if you wanted to do a cute cooking/date night in.

Jackie V.

Yelp
Came here after a visit to Homestead farm. Cute winery! The downsides inside is air conditioned and there are a bunch of outdoor seating options. You can bring your own food or purchase charcuterie supplies there or food from the food truck. The food truck had amazing BBQ and was restaurant priced. Charcuterie supplies was a bit pricy. They have non-alcoholic options too. The bathrooms were great but not accessible (stairs & super small) The walkways were also not paved. When we were there it was busy and not super fast but we weren't in a rush! Seems LGBTQ friendly-ish.

Kimi S.

Yelp
We stopped by Rockland Farm Winery after a morning of blueberry picking next door and it was such a wonderful respite from all of our hard work! As soon as we stepped out into the parking lot we were greeted with the smell of wood-fired pizzas and an Argentinian grill master. And of course my daughter only had eyes for the gelato cart with were manned by two super-friendly people who allowed us to try their handmade frozen treats in flavors like strawberry, ginger chocolate, coffee, and pistachio (yes, we got all of them..it was hot outside!). For the grown ups we got a bottle of their natural wine, some cured meats, raw cheeses, and crackers. The workers in the farmhouse were super friendly and even gave us a cheeseboard so we wouldn't be eating out of plastic packages like savages. The views were wonderful and there was lots of different areas for us to spread out in the shade and for the kids to run around. I'd love to sit down for a full tasting and get the whole experience but I'll save that for when I don't have a one year old glued to my hip. Overall, this was such a wonderful way to spend the day just thirty minutes away from DC!

Towanda B.

Yelp
Visited Rocklands Farm Winery for an event this afternoon. It is in a beautiful setting, and it was a wonderful day for wine. I recommend it and would love to go back for a wine tasting and food. Everyone was friendly, the barns are rustic, warm and inviting. Definitely would like to visit again!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Walked in without a reservation on a Saturday and were able to get a picnic table outside. The parking lot was extremely full and people were everywhere from the lawn, outdoor tables, tent and indoors. I knew this place had to be good and it was amazing! WINE: 7th Anniversary Library Flight $18 2016 Hillside: Petit Verdot Blend 2017 Sandstone: Cabernet Franc - this was my favorite but they were all very good and we bought a bottle to enjoy at home later 2016 Montevideo: Robust Red Blend Endless Summer Flight $12 2019 Springhouse: Chardonnel Blend 2019 Partnership Rose: Dry Berry-Apple Cider - slightly carbonated but dry and very unique 2019 Farmhouse: Whole-Cluster Chambourcin FOOD: They had food trucks and we opted for the pizza truck which was really delicious. There was quite a long line so definitely be prepared to wait awhile for your pizza since they're made to order. They offer a huge variety of white, rose, red and craft ciders. They also have freezer cases full of food from their farm.

Austin G.

Yelp
Under an hour drive from Washington, D.C. is one of Montgomery County's earliest wineries. A sustainable farm first, they make wine using ingredients from Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic. My wife, five-year-old daughter and I went on a Saturday afternoon and had a blast. Here's our experinece: 1) Story: It's family-owned and on a historic farm with the 1870 farmhouse preserved. They are about low-intervention wines and using ingredients natural to Maryland. They also sell grass-fed meats and organize a CSA. The people behind the winery are very passionate. 2) Space: It's a big property with indoor seating and lots of outdoor seating along the creek, pond and throughout the grassy areas. There's even a family-friendly section away from the other sections with giant tires set up for kids to play on. Our daughter loved it! Pro-tip: Go to the second floor above the tastings for a beautiful view of the property. 3) Wine: It's $25 per tasting, which is a little steep, but it's a more in-depth experience about the wines with one ounce pours. We tried seven wines and each was different and well made. 4) Food: They sell snacks, popsicles, Green Almond Pantry hummus, etc. and have two food trucks on the weekend, including a wood-oven pizza truck that's excellent. If you love wine, head to Rocklands. It's a space families and people without kids would enjoy together!

Dee D.

Yelp
The staff is really friendly. The scenery was wonderful; set on an old farm. Lots of outdoor seating and calm breezes. They offer an array of wines-- Full bottles, glasses, and flights. We went with the two flights to navigate our first visit. Endless summer flight: 1. Fieldwork- Sauvignon blanc 4.5/5 2. Anna's Rose- dry rose 4/5 3. Farmhouse- whole cluster Chamborcine 3/5 Fall flight 1. Graze -- grunter veltliner 2/5 2. Hillside -- red blend 3.5/5 3. Sandstone - Cabernet franc 3.75/5 Overall a pleasant experience. I would return for a targeted selection and a larger picnic basket. We went inside after and purchased two bottles of wine. Our faves - Anna rose and the Sauvignon blanc!

Phi N.

Yelp
Beautiful farm, and one of the few wonderful places you can still go during the pandemic. I only give a 3 star rating though because none of us really loved any of the wines. I know this is very subjective, but we tried very many of them and none were very likeable or smooth. Also, there was a few trucks/stands, but food at the pizza place took almost an hour and a half. Adding a few more options would be good.

Brett G.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to this place, but the recent vintage is not good by any stretch of the imagination. Literally every wine smells strongly like a barn floor and tastes like it too. The folks are still friendly and the service is great, but the product stinks both figuratively and actually. Really disappointed with this year's vintages. They can do better, and I suspect they will. But for this wine season, it's a big NO for me

Kendoll C.

Yelp
Can't believe I missed reviewing Rocklands after all our previous visits. This was our third visit to the winery. We were first invited by a friend, who was a wine club member often boasting about the great ambiance and wine. Our visit lived up to her hype. The winery was gorgeous-with lots of amply seating between picnic tables throughout the grounds, indoor seating in various barns, or outdoor patio spots. It was easy to settle in and spread out. The price for a glass of wine were a bit high, ranging from $8-12 & they don't offer tastings-just mini flights at $17-18-so we opted to just buy bottles (the staff were kind enough to let us try sips before committing to a bottle (granted it was something from the open bottles from the wine flight list). They offer a variety of dry whites, dry reds, rose', and sweet wines- so it was easy for everyone in our party to find a wine for their preference. We ended up running through several wines from their list across our various visits- I think their whites are stronger in flavor profiles than their reds. Their base reds were a bit too light; if we wanted a higher quality red wine we had to look towards the higher end, more expensive products, so we stuck with the varietals of white wine which were more table friendly and affordable. They have two food trucks on site, we didn't try them out since we brought our own spread, but I did learn due to the high number of visitors they ran out of food each time we have been there. Also to note: not dog friendly & lots of loose wild life (like a chicken literally jumped up on our table to steal French Fries). Overall, a great spot to go with friends, since there is great ambiance, lots of seating, and lots of choices.

Sharlene S.

Yelp
Took us about 45 minutes from DC. The grounds were beautiful. Super quaint farm, market, and lots of places to sit on benches, tables, shaded spots, or to setup your own space under a tree. Bathrooms clean. It's COVID-19, so there was lots of hand sanitizer. Masks were required in common spaces, and they were not doing traditional tastings. Just wines by the glass and bottle, I believe. We got the rose and Pinot Grigio. Snacks available inside and they gave out complementary water, which was awesome. Shoutout to the staff who was super knowledgeable about the wine, and very friendly. Theresa was personable and lovely. We came @2pm and stayed till about 5. Brought our own food. We were able to social distance ourselves, walk around a bit, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at Rocklands!

Yelp
Rocklands Farm Winery has wonderful wine tastIngs. The wines were outstanding and we tasted three white wines and three reds for $14.00. Our wine expert, Alise, was both fun and knowledgeable about the various wines and how they were aged. Most of the grapes were grown in Montgomery County, Maryland or local vineyards. The location is close by, off River Road and has a rustic farm decor. They also sell meat butchered locally. They have seating indoors and outside on their large farm. We sat indoors, close to our favorite food chef, Alejandro, who caters from-The Tapas and Paella Place. Chef Alejandro and his assistant, Chari who helped to make our dining experience a delight. We enjoyed a bottle of our favorite wine with our meal. The paella is amazing and filled with mussels, tender chicken, shrimp, and chorizo sausage. It is the best paella I have ever eaten. We had 3 servings and took one to go. The garlic shrimp was delicious. We soaked up the sauce with Italian bread. The chef and his partner cater to your every need. They are talented, down to earth, and so much fun. Not to mention their amazing food. The Winery has music and other special activities on holidays and weekends. We really enjoyed our time at Rocklands Winery and will return there soon. I hope to see you there.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere and service. I enjoyed a flight, and brought my own snacks. My friend purchased a charcuterie board and crackers which I would not recommend, as it was minimal and pricey. I also would have appreciated a bit more in the pour of the flight for the price. Overall, I would return.

Yelp
Came to this winery for the first time during the July 4th weekend. Beautiful venue! Lots of areas to sit inside and outside, and there are lots of sampling options. Our favorite wine was the Cabernet Franc. We also loved the build your own charcuterie options with a cutting board available for each guest (never seen a winery offer that). Overall excellent experience with wine, food and atmosphere.

Yelp
Cute little getaway. - Farmhouse chic next to the vines - Perfect for a picnic! You can bring your own food and there are tons of tables over a very wide area. There is a little market inside where you can order your glasses, buy bottles, or a flight, with a selection of goods inside (cheeses, meats, crackers, ice cream, etc). They also seem to have two food trucks, one with pizza and one with burgers. - The wines are quite lovely. Bright, crisp, and very fruit forward. When you purchase a flight, they pour all of the wines into the glasses for you to bring to your table. So it's not the type of tasting experience where you sit and they pour each wine for you in rounds. - We got there at noon, right when it opens, and within 30 minutes the place was getting filled up! I didn't realize how family friendly it was, because there were SUVs of families with small children coming in one after another. It was also a weekend. - The only restrooms are the fancy port-a-potties...which definitely look and seem much cleaner than normal ones, but smelled really bad...

Yelp
Their tastings are wonderful! Adele and Alison did such a great job of leading a tasting for us and teaching us about the wines. I also really liked the tannic quality of their red wines in particular even though I am a white wine drinker. Really recommend this winery!

Yelp
Favorite winery in the area! Love the variety of outdoor seating options and great food trucks, but also that you can bring your own food. Always a good time!

Yelp
This winery is like a hidden gem. It is an adventure every time my wife and I visit. We enjoy walking around the winery, and farmland. There are ducks, cats, and bugs of course just walking and flying around so if you enjoy animals this is your place. It is very family oriented but not family pet friendly yet because they have their own farm pets walking around. I had a great time tasting wine and petting the animals. You never feel close to anyone because the farm is super spacious with tons of places to go off and enjoy your wine. However, I wish there were goats... one day. The staff were amazing and very Knowledgeable. Most staff work part time and out there because they love the farm and customers. I cannot wait to visit again soon.

Yelp
We had a fantastic tasting with Kerrie She was very knowledgeable about the ways and we were impressed with how the wines are made. This winery is definitely worth the trip! I recommend bringing a picnic/ food and enjoy a bottle inside or outside the beautiful barn and grounds It is so nice all decorated for the holidays! We will go back in the spring and next fall!

Yelp
Little did I know...I would be walking in the footsteps of the Real Housewives of Potomac. Hahaha. This farm is beautiful with the friendliest staff anyone could ask for. I appreciate their food vendors as well. The first time I went, I had the cipolla rosa pizza. It was soooooo good. I was almost tempted to buy another one to take home. So my favorite wine to have here is the Honey Blossom. I dont know if it's in my mind....but im feeling so good after 2 glasses. Lol. My second time here, I got a bottle to go. Oh don't hesitate to visit while the sunflowers are in bloom. Beautiful! Came here during COVID 19 and there are plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the scenery while practicing social distancing. They have tables and grassy areas for a picnic. I will def be back! Love this place.

Yelp
Determined to enjoy our lives this past weekend, we sent out for an adventure at a local Maryland Winery, Rocklands Farm Winery in Poolesville.* . On the menu for the day, was a delicious and savory Spanish Paella, which paired nicely with the cider we were drinking, Partnership. * . Partnership is a delicious Rosé Cider, described as having a "wonderful stone fruit floral notes with a zing of crab apple. On the palate the blackberry and raspberry notes show through. The off-dry finish is accompanied by effervescence, which is a welcome addition to this crisp rendition of non-grape wine * Rocklands Farms is a beautiful vineyard and working farm, set in the country side of Poolesville, Maryland. They offer an array of wines and ciders, fresh meat, artisanal popsicles and local breads. Wine & Cider Tastings are ~$15 a person, we opted to try to ciders for free and buy a bottle to share. All in all, it was an enjoyable afternoon. As always, I wish for you is to be well-traveled and well-feed. Be well, friends *

Yelp
We decided to brave the pandemic and go to the closest winery with ample outdoor space to DC. It took about 51 minutes to get there from northern DC. Parking is plentiful, but it was super crowded. Recommend just brining your own chairs and table or blanket to avoid having to wait for a table. The red line was light, but robust. At $30 a bottle I couldn't see buying any wine to take home, but it was good for a day outing for two. There are usually food trucks on site. The snacks offered inside the facility are minimal and not particularly mouth watering. The food trucks sometimes stop serving food early, so don't wait too late to grab your order. Overall, the space is pretty and there is plenty of space to socially distance. My wife and I aren't really into kids at adult venues, so the number of kids running around was a bit overwhelming. Highly recommend a separate 21 and up section for those of us who'd like to drink wine in peace ‍ Two thumbs up. Would return. Recommend.

Yelp
Absolutely love this winery!!!! They have so much seating and it's family friendly which we love. The wine and food vendors here are really good. They also have food at the store located on the premises! Meet so many friendly people here! Love this place.

Yelp
My wife and got married at Rocklands at the end of 2021, right before their pause is hosting weddings. While visiting Rocklands in November 2023, we were excited to hear they would be resuming hosting weddings next year. We wanted to share our experience with having our weddings at Rocklands. Planning for and executing a successful wedding is stressful; Rocklands made it seamless. During our initial search for venues we sent out several inquiries to venues on their respective websites, emails etc. Within 5 minutes of us submitting our inquiry to Rocklands, the owner, Janis Glenn, called and took the time to outline the details of hosting a wedding at their venue, and answered all our specific questions. What stood out to us right away was the tailored experience we would be offered. At the time, they only hosted one wedding per weekend. This allowed for us to have the option to host our rehearsal dinner on site the night prior, we could use a private house on the property the morning of the wedding to get ready, and access to what seemed like an endless supply of rustic/farm centric props for decorations and pictures. Our schedule was not dictated by another weddings hosted the same weekend. If you opt to have the ceremony on-site, they have a large field available, with their beautiful farm property in the foreground. We were given the opportunity to tour the property with Janis, and were given a tasting to choose which wines we would offer our guests. Closer to the wedding, we were also allowed to tour the property with our photographer. We opted to use their on site catering partner "Simply Fresh", who had their own on-site kitchen and had worked in partnership with Rocklands for many years to host weddings. For flowers, we used SunGold Flower Company, who grew their beautiful flowers on Rocklands Property. We have to admit, we were at first hesitant to use the offered on-site catering and flower service, feeling maybe they had a monopoly and we could maybe find a better price point or provider elsewhere; we were wrong. Choosing a full service catering and flower provider who had hosted probably hundreds of weddings at the venue was a no brainer. Rocklands, Simply Fresh, and SunGold all had competitive pricing, with various packages available. Following our wedding, we didn't anticipate how much we would enjoy returning to Rocklands as customers. Janis and her husband Greg still remember us and take their time to catch up while still running the business. We are happy to hear other couples will be able to host their weddings starting next year, we hope this review helps!

Yelp
Secluded and quaint place, we got there right when it opened at 12pm on a Sunday and had the whole tent seating area to ourselves. Would love to go back with a reservation for the fire pit seating! The fire pit seating requires reservations, otherwise picnic tables and the heated tent are open to anyone. They have plenty of seating even if you don't make a reservation. All the staff were warm and friendly and had informative descriptions about the wine selection. Definitely recommend the Honey Blossom, it was a sweet white wine, the Farmhouse was fresh and not too acidic. They had a food truck called Boxcar Burgers that had options like an Impossible Burger, Frederick County Burger (build-your-own), and Sriracha chicken, with a few fries options. It was a short 10 min wait for the food. Burgers were great and not too expensive.

Yelp
Imagine this: you grew up in the burbs but never really hung out on a farm. Your curiosity gets you and, BAM, Rocklands winery calls your name. Rocklands Winery is a great place to visit on a date or with a group of friends. It will take you through backroads to get there so hold onto your britches. Parking is plentiful and the fun is nonstop. The ambiance is chill and brings a good vibe to your stay. They do an amazing job with current pandemic measures(better than their completion). They have a very simple system to Mark your table so you can get up to get food and wine without worrying about losing your seat. I suggest bringing snacks with you but they do sell meat/cheeses inside. The wines are good and you can buy them by the glass or bottle. Overall, I'll be coming back for more weekend fun! #yelpMDburbs

Yelp
Very nice winery venue. The drive out to the winery from DC is a quiet peaceful drive. We had a nice socially distanced visit. The staff memeber we interacted with were all sweet as pie. There were a lot of people out and some of the kids there were a little "rambunctious". We did find out that there is a 21 and up area but we didn't know that until the end of our visit.

Yelp
I rated this place 2 stars. Have been to other wineries and have never had such an experience. One thing that attracted to this place was the livestock, however when we entered one of the main hosts (seemed manager) did not have a welcoming or polite demeanor. Not sure if they expect a certain type of crowd and just will be rude to others. It ruined our experience to go back there again. I was hesitant to go inside and make any further purchases since I didn't want to deal with their fancy attitude. Not sure how this place has rating of 4.5 stars. They have decorated the place well with lights and livestock, which is a pleasant experience to enjoy. Their wines are little on high end but that we were aware of. Will not be going there again as it has a left a distasteful experience for us.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting this winery, and my friends joined me. Parking was readily available. Not too far from the venue. The grounds are well maintained. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was the COVID precautions. Everyone had masks, hand sanitizer was everywhere, and everything was being cleaned (doors, tables, etc.) each time something was touched. The shop was very organized. Limited entry based on the number of patrons, floor markers for traffic control, and registers cleaned between guests. I opted to create my own charcuterie plate. I purchased the honey blossom wine by the glass and the Bramble by the bottle. Although they weren't offering flights, you could sample wines that were already open. The outdoor dining spaces were beautiful and well shaded. We enjoyed our time, and will be back.
