I love the vibes here. Everyone is having a good time and the servers and bartenders are awesome. I popped in here the day after Christmas with my parents who were visiting. I got the white chili which was good but a bit too spicy for me. I admit, I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spice levels, so you might think it’s perfect. My parents both got the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque. They both licked their bowls clean saying it was amazing. If you’re looking for a vibrant bar in Lakeview, check out ROCKS. This place rocks! lol

I recently visited Rocks Lakeview, and it turned out to be a pretty solid experience. The place has a laid-back, neighborhood vibe, which made it a comfortable spot to hang out. The menu offers a good variety of pub food, and I found the burgers to be the highlight—they were juicy and cooked just right. I also tried a few of their craft beers, and they had a decent selection. The cocktails were good too, but nothing too fancy. Service was friendly and quick, which was a big plus, especially during the busier times. One thing to note is that it can get a bit loud when it’s crowded, so it’s not the place for a quiet meal. That said, if you’re looking for a casual spot to grab a bite and a drink with friends, Rocks Lakeview is a solid choice. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is good, and it’s definitely a place I’d return to for a casual night out.

I don't even want to know how much money I have spent here the past year LOL. I am here at least once a week! How can I not be with how close I live, how good the food is and how kind the staff is? I wish they could keep the French Onion and Baked Potato Soup permanently. I have also never seen a cleaner restaurant in my life. Highly recommend, bingo the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month!

Great burgers and beer. Service was quick and friendly. Great atmosphere. Very busy, but to expected on a Saturday night.

Good food, good service, reasonable prices. We looked in the area for a restaurant that was open for lunch on a Monday. Usually I wouldn't go to a bar for lunch, but there weren't a lot of options. I'm glad we got here because it sure was a great experience. Our waiter Medison was helpful and very courteous. We ordered the Goodfella Burger, the Chicken Strips, the French Onion Soup and some beers (Dovetail Helles Lager). All were good. The price was reasonable (around $20 per person) and definitely was worth the food. I came here at a different time and had the Chicken Strips but was pretty disappointed (they were small and dry).

I always get amazing service here. Everything I’ve had to eat is really good for bar food. It is a fun environment. Going during fun events is great. I’ve gone during pride and drag bingo. It’s great at night and for lunch/dinner. Great for bigger or smaller parties

Decent spot - but my drink seemed pretty light on alcohol. Fries were great and service was pretty okay. Do NOT order chicken tenders from here. They were the absolute worst chicken tenders I’ve ever had in my life. Extremely, stringy, hard, chewy - basically like eating beef jerky but worse. I’m sure their other food is better!

We stopped in for brunch not knowing anything about this place. The outside patio was beautiful everyone was nice and welcoming, sit wherever you like. The food was great after a long night the night before. I was a little disturbed they charged for extra sauce because my sandwich didn't have enough. They should at least tell the customer before just adding it to the bill. Nothing like a mimosa to get you through the afternoon. I want to return to try some other options offer on the menu. I definitely would return.

Food is decent, but the atmosphere is...weird. The wait staff always seem like they're drunk or stoned. The turnover rate is extremely high. Don't know if I've ever had the same server twice and I'm fairly regular. Chicago Classic is the best thing on the menu.

I cannot BELIEVE what a good deal the Rocks Lakeview bottomless mimosa brunch was! If you are looking for a great lunch spot in Lakeview, you should defffff check out Rocks! We (obviously) had the bottomless mimosas, but we paired them with a delish spread of breakfast & lunch foods! Here's the rundown: Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich - scrambled eggs, avocado, jalapeño mayo, shredded jack cheese, and pico de gallo on ciabatta Chicken & Waffles - full breaded chicken breast topped with a belgian waffle, 2 strips of applewood smoked bacon, and loaded with house made spicy bacon jam And the chicken sandwich! Everything was SO delicious and I cannot recommend this place enough! Just make sure that you eat enough before indulging in the mimosas too much (unlike us)!

I had a wonderful leisurely lunch and sat on the patio and truly enjoyed myself tremendously. My server, dashing Dan, was very attentive and efficient. I ordered the Tribute Cabernet and the Kale Salad with grilled salmon, which was prepared perfectly and extraordinarily tasty. I would highly recommend this place!

Friendly faces, nice beer selection, a patio aaand unfortunately pretty bad food. It skates by because there's not a lot of competition in the area but the food is rather dismal. But by all means, go for a drink, just don't eat.

I've been here a bunch of times. The service is really great, everyone is friendly. Great selection of drinks and food. My favorite is the tater tots with anything and the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Definitely check this place out.

Perfect neighborhood sports bar. Service is always great. Fried mac n cheese bites are delicious and burgers are always good. Nice place to sit and watch a game at the bar.

The burgers are juicy, smokey, and delicious. The service is good. We ordered buffalo wings, Chicago classic, and DIY burger. Everything was great!

Good food, and nice spot after the Cubs Game. Servers were quick in getting orders in and bringing food and drinks to the table. Noise level was surprisingly low, where we were able to hold great conversations.

Very casual atmosphere with good service and nice food. They are great with kids and have an ok kids menu - Mac and cheese is home made and excellent. The patty of the burger is fine quality but all the rest of the toppings are excellent! We have eaten here a few times and enjoyed it in person every time. Take out has been a bit spotty, so go and enjoy!

Excelled in everything. First time there and felt like a regular. My barstool neighbor Bill, offered me the shot he obtained by playing a pull-string sound game, he's not a bourbon guy. Memorable experience

On a nice Chicago day with the walls opened up this place looks inviting and enticing, but don't fall for it. Food is trash. On par with college dorm food or low end hotel breakfast. (It wouldn't surprise me at all if they had the same suppliers). I've had way better airplane food. So many better places in the neighborhood to spend your money.

This is a neighborhood staple. The managers & owners are the best in the business & the food never disappoints. We have been going since it first opened and have enjoyed seeing it expand and become the Lakeview East institution it is today. When it's warm you can sit inside or outside on the patio. The bar always has friendly faces and conversations & is worth bellying up to!! Rocks is great.

I live in the neighborhood and have given this place a go a couple times giving them the grace of "off days". I wouldn't have a problem with the food if it didn't cost $20 for a dry burger and decent fries. It's just terrible value, for something that is maybe worth half the price. A restaurant can't justify this price for simply using a pretzel bun if the patties are bone dry. The fries are fine, but again can't justify this insane price point. Their service is typically good and they do have a lot of tvs inside if you're trying to catch a game. But I genuinely would say go elsewhere if you want a good burger.

I just moved here, had to stay in a hotel for a night. This was the nearest bar The burger was amazing, it was so big I had to eat it in half...the bartender was very attentive, she greeted me when I came in, and made sure to greet everyone as they walked in, AND as they left. As I mentioned, just moved here. bartender and a few regulars were so nice and gave me some restaurant recommendations as well as bought me a shot as a welcome to the neighborhood.... 5 stars for the staff, the regulars, and the kitchen staff!

Rocks is a tough one to review. It's probably a 3.5 but I'm going to round up after all the meals they've served me. Used to live two blocks away for many years and it's safe to say I've probably eaten here 30 times or more (don't judge)! Biggest issue is consistency. Sometimes service is amazing and other times it errs just on the side of rude. Pre-covid this place had some amazing weeknight specials that brought me in nearly each week. Like many things, those have disappeared and I must say, Rocks now feels overpriced. The menu prices have continued to increase and quality is stagnant or worse. This all being said, I love my Chicago Classic burger with tots and side of ranch. It's my thing and always hits right. Definitely recommend the burgers over the other menu items. Years ago they had Greek fries and they were AMAZING, like mic drop amazing. I wish they could make a return appearance! It's a reliable bar with elevated bar/pub fare. Just really depends on the staff working on the night you decide to give it a try. Highly recommend dining in rather than delivery or take out, they usually always forget a condiment or sauce which is disappointing when unboxing the meal at home.

I love Rocks. Their food always hits the spot and they have decent cocktails. The chicken tenders tossed in a wing sauce are the best - we love the Angry sauce or the buffalo Parmesan garlic. Side of fries is HUGE for $3 and well worth it. I usually get the Chicken Caliente sandwich. It's messy, spicy, cheesy perfection. I've always enjoyed the quesadilla, buffalo wrap, sante fe wrap, and El Gordo. I love that you can swap the meat in any burger to chicken or veggie burger.

A delightful, friendly and very pleasant neighborhood restaurant/ bar! We enjoyed eating and drinking there during our week in Chicago Josie created a fall/ winter cocktail she named the Town Tart. We had a first taste with her - and ordered one! Epic Burgers and great fries!!!

We visited there around 8 pm on Saturday. It was lively inside and was a cozy mood. We took outside seats and had signature burgers and beers. French fries were very crispy and burgers were so yummy. It was a bit busy but food and drinks were served without waiting so long. The stuff were very friendly. A lady who was in charge of our table was very professional and very friendly. She never interrupted us by checking in on us and tried to communicate with us. This is one of my favorite places.

I have been ordering food here for a couple years. Never anything extraordinary but the food is decent. I am disappointed that in my last pickup order, I bit into a piece of metal in my chili after I have eaten most of it already. I will not be returning.

Not sure why this place doesn't have a five star rating! Great fire, cool crowd, great service, best chicken chili, I've ever had! Highly recommend, AND since his place is located in "boys town" they are very inclusive and they celebrate PRIDE. Love them!p plan

Loooove myself some Rocks! We live down the street and frequent this place regularly. Obsessed with the burgers, fries, green beans, and beer. We were so depressed when they had the kitchen fire but are happy they are back, with new finishes and the same great burger. Staff is in masks, tables are clean and Ajax feet apart, dogs are still welcome outside. Now that I've been testing the menu more than the burger, I can say, just get the burger. The chicken Mac and cheese is a little pricy for what you get and rather bland in flavor. Chicken strips are real chicken but the shape isn't ideal and can lead to over cooking. Wings are not good, don't fall for that Thursday special...they used to have the Leroy Brown which was an awesome grilled cheese and bbq sandwich...hope to see that back again. Cauliflower wings are also pretty delish. That said I appreciate the slight menu changes monthly and commitment to serving the neighborhood. Looking forward to sending a five star update next time I'm back for a burger!

Came in because many other places were closed. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and she was an excellent server. The guys I came with ordered burgers and one had the sweet potato fries another one had the French onion soup and I ordered the kale salad with salmon. It was tasty . The music was awesome. Staff was great! Will try a burger next time!

I'm not sure why I ordered from here..maybe the pictures of the food looked really good. I had an Uber coupon and was starving. First time using Uber to deliver food so I wanted to keep it simple. I ordered chicken tender and Mac n Cheese nuggets or whatever they're called. This has to be the 2nd most disgusting food I've eaten in my life. The chicken tender have absolutely no taste @ all...how can you mess up chicken tenders. The cheese were a little more eatable. I'm so confused as to how this place has so many decent reviews. Waste of my $ and time/energy walking to the elevator to meet the Uber driver downstairs !!!!

Rocks in Lakeview ROCKS!! Good burgers, sandwiches, wrap, salads, fries, Mac and cheese, nachos, beer selection, etc. Always have had good service also! The Rocks burger is a classic (Over 145,000 sold- as it says on their menu)! Great spot to grab a drink, some lunch or dinner, and watch a good game on tv. They have a lot of TVs; so if you like sports. You will like this spot!

My gals and I absolutely love this place but was saddened to see the Santa Fe wrap is gone. This was our neighborhood spot when we lived down the street. Please please please bring back the Santa Fe wrap love y'all

I've been going to Rocks multiple times a week for many, many years. The staff is incredible. Especially Brittnay! The American Classic is a main food group in my diet.

Used to be a good place. As of 2023 it's just HORRIBLY slow service. Even with just few customers :((((

Really good casual spot for all you could want. They've got great craft beer, wings, nachos, burgers, and brunch. Wish there was a game on to watch while I was there though. Will definitely be back.

I don't know if it's a coincidence but I get sick every time I eat here. When I had the burger I got hives all over my body. When I had the chicken wrap I got a fever.

I order Rocks for delivery every couple months it it never disappoints! Great bar food - flavorful and huge portions. The burgers are very good and I love their nachos. If you're in Lakeview give it a try :) Nowhere else in the neighborhood I'd really care to eat this type of food from besides here.

Amazing neighborhood spot and blessed to live just down the street! Rocks is a great place to meet up with friends, have a couple drinks, and get some delicious grub. They've got a nice sidewalk patio, and large open air windows so even indoors feels outdoors. I've dined her dozens of times, and even during COVID, they're doing their best to make sure everyone has a pleasurable dining experience. Some crowd favorites: the el gordo and Rocks burger, chicken caliente and buff chic wrap, and their chicken tenders. Can't go wrong with any of those options. My personal fav is the el gordo burger, which comes with pepper jack, bacon, onion rings, and spicy 1k island. If you know me, you know I loooove some heat and the el gordo packs it while also retaining amazing flavor. Rock's fries are also delicious, super crispy and lightly seasoned. Rock's also have an AMAZING drink list. Hundreds of different whiskeys and bourbons and amazing craft beer on draft. I always find a new beer to try when I am there. My only complaint is that sometimes the wait and staff can be a bit on the slower side. At peak times, getting a second round can be hard. Overall, I love Rock's though and am looking forward to many more meals and drinks with friends here to come.

Very nice setting, a little dirty on the tables and under the table. The food was very bad the chicken strips tasted like fish and the white trash nachoes were supposed to be steak and tasted like anything but steak "chicken but pork" idk very bad taste and its Fritos in the nachoes not nachoes. Sorry won't be comming back.

Had to leave a review -- was out for a boozy brunch with a close girlfriend; we both have 12 wk old babies at home. I had to pump and was offered a private space with an outlet so I could stay for another drink. To top it off our service and food were equally as spectacular. Sincere thanks for a much needed Mom's day out!

I love Rocks - it's my go to whenever I don't want to cook! Their burger is delicious but the Santa Fe wrap is my usual go to. I drown it with the chipotle ranch because it's amazing. The staff is great and gave me an extra ranch today:) can't recommend it more!

Large spacious pub with a rather limited selection of burgers and some sandwiches. Came in for a sports match and was pleasantly surprised by the large number of a TV screens with viewing at most seats in the bar. The server was very busy but dropped by constantly to take my order and check up on me. That was about the end of the positives. Being a Hawaiian pizza fan, I was very intrigued by their Kaluha pizza with pinapple slices, avocado and a homemade teriyaki glaze; the waitress gave a positive review from other customers; it all sounded like a sweet and savory delight but in practice was rather bland. The pinapple slices were too thin and their refreshing taste barely registered on my buds with every bite, the teriyaki was nonexistent and the only redeeming piece was the avocado texture blended really well with the medium cooked burger patty. The pretzel bun was also enjoyable, but when the bun becomes one of the a burgers top highlights, there is much room for improvement. The Haymarket Blood Orange ale was a refreshing choice for a summer ale with a kick of citrus, but nothing special. For the relatively higher price of this meal than competing brewers and restaurants in the area, there was a higher expectation of the food and drink than that which was served, but the wait staff, music selection and dancing employees were great and very enjoyable.

The food is great. Nice vibe. And the bartenders are the nices/friendliest t bartenders I've had the pleasure of encountering.

Tiara was the best waitress that has ever happened to me. She was attentive, jovial, enthusiastic, and she was wear a silver shiney mask. Go for the great waitress and stay for the food. Loved the Covid precautions here too. Everyone wore masks and gloves, there was hand sanitizer, and they checked temperatures and verified that i was not symptomatic. To the food! I got the Rocks burger. They had me at Giardiniera. Then they added bacon. The burger was seasoned perfectly and was delicious. The beer menu here was extensive. I got the bourbon county wheat wine. The most important part of the excursion was that THIS PLACE IS PET FRIENDLY ON THE PATIO! Tiara in all her gloriousness brought a dog bowl with water for the dogs. I can't wait to come back or get some delivery from this place!

Ordered delivery from this spot because I remembered having eaten here before in the past and do recalled that the food was pretty solid. I ordered steak quesadillas and curly fries. It arrived super quick, so quick that the curly fries were still hot. Nobody like cold and soggy curly fries! The dilla was pretty good too. I'd order from here again. I do remember this location being in a neighborhood and parking was hard to find. But they have solid eats.

Service has been improving, both from speed and a sense of hospitality. Burgers never disappoint! Tater tots, too! Half-price burgers on Wednesday nights always translate in to a wait, but it usually is pretty quick to get a table. Patio in the summer is rather enjoyable.

I like this place, I'm glad it's back open, but I have one major, simple gripe. I'll preface this with yes, I'm a 30 year old man complaining about this, but hear me out. An order of chicken fingers usually comes with a sauce. That's just a normal restaurant rule, one order of chicken, one sauce right? Well @ Rocks you get a cup of Ranch, and if you don't like that then you pay 50 cents for a sauce. Even if you specifically say "ranch is disgusting" (I would't be that hateful to ranch in public though) you'll somehow always still get the ranch + whatever sauce you actually wanted + a 50 cent charge. I thought it might be a one time thing but nope, it keeps happening. I'm sorry Rocks, a small amount of BBQ sauce does not cost more to you than the same amount of ranch sauce. Let people just choose a damn sauce and lay off the upcharge because it makes you look petty as hell on a hefty bill that always includes plenty of alcohol. It's not even an extra sauce! EDIT: Update - just went again recently and they were kind enough to not charge for sauce. Unfortunately when I asked if I could get some bread or crackers to go with a French onion soup I was told that "The kitchen says those are only for salads." I was actually taken aback at how stupid that is, that they had no available bread, despite said bread being on the menu. Very frustrating.

Never got a notification that my meal was ready for pickup until after I called, and had already picked it up. When I called they were also a little rude. My fries were soggy and the grilled cheese was rubbery.

I really wanted to love it here. The close proximity to my apartment made it an easy dinner option and it always smells sooo good when I walk by. After four visits, I can't say I want to come back. Three visits produced pretty average food. I never got the same thing twice because so much of the menu looked interesting and delicious. I've brought family and friends here because the menu is huge and everyone can find something they like. But it never goes past "like." Burgers have been bland and much of the sautéed onion or pepper toppings on sandwiches were scorched and dripping in grease. For a place that does BURGERS I expected better. The buffalo wings were consistently good- I even got them for takeout a few times. The nail in the coffin was my last visit. My boyfriend and I walked in on a moderately busy evening. It's a little awkward to get a table since there's no hostess stand. So we stood in the doorway and waited. We tried to get a server's attention as they passed- no eye contact. We squeezed up to the bar to ask about getting a table. No acknowledgement. A group of three staff members were chatting on the opposite side of the bar. We kept looking their way for any sort of recognition that we were there and none came. We waited at least five minutes without a single Rocks staff member saying a word. I would've been appreciative of any sort of "be with you in a minute" or "could you stand here and we'll seat you in a while." Nothing. We walked out and headed down street. After the bizarre experience and just okay food, I won't be back.
