Absolutely loved our experience at Rocks on the Roof! The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was incredible. The rooftop view is truly unbeatable - especially at sunset. We really enjoyed the variety of cocktails and appetizers, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommend for a memorable evening out in Savannah!

Google
You can't beat the view from Rocks on the Roof. Lots of space and seating with adequate and attentive staff. If you are staying at the Bohemian, this is a no brainer. My only gripe, as it is with the other bars along River St is that the drink menu tries so hard to stand out the drinks are often a mix of ingredients that really should never be in the same glass. Had a blast here with my wife on our anniversary and would highly recommend!

Tiffany Andrews

Google
Only enjoyed a cocktail after dinner but was lovely way to end the night. You have to go to the bar to order if you are on the patio. View was stunning.

Google
The views at this place might be the best on the river. If you’re able to make it at sunset, you won’t be disappointed. Service was good, my only complaint is that the food selection is super small, compared to the drink items. But if you’re only looking for good drinks and good vibes, give it a try.

Google
Really great view of the river, port, and Riverwalk businesses. Great place to see a sunset while enjoying a drink or two.

This was my 3rd visit to ROTR. I came with my sister, bro-n-law and nephew. I always enjoy the views and relaxed atmosphere. The weather was perfect. I enjoyed the lobster and shrimp hushpuppies but was a little disappointed there weren't any lobster or shrimp in it that I could see throughout, nevertheless, they were tasty. The shrimp basket and chicken tenders were a hit as well. We finished off our little bites with craft beer and I had a 'Savannah Nana' which was fabulously tasty. I can't remember our waitress' name(amanda 🤔) but she was great and with all the tables she was handling, she kept up with orders well. I look forward to my next visit.

Google
We wanted a drink and to take in some scenery and this place had it. Beautiful views. Good drinks and food. Just go in, take the elevator and you're there. Give it a try.

Google
The snacks and drinks were great and so was the view! This was a perfect place to grab some cocktails and small plates before our dinner reservation. The host was so kind and our server was great! The Chai Espresso martini was delicious!! The popcorn shrimp was too. Definitely would come back!

Yelp
I LOVED this location. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful view. The drinks were expensive but good. We did not get food. The waitress never checked on us once. We had to go to the bar for everything. We did see her talking to other tables but she never even acknowledged us. The people at the bar were nice.

Yelp
My review is wholly based on beverages and the location. What a great rooftop! Awesome views of the river and River Street. Lots of tables and lots of friendly folks. The beer selection is quite nice and includes several local craft brews. My mom wanted lemonade and the bartender made it from scratch. It was really good. He was very busy and remained friendly and gracious. The food we saw looked great as did many of their specialty drinks, especially the various martinis. I will definitely visit again and look forward to taking friends and family up on the roof.

Yelp
I stayed at the Bohemian Hotel, so this was a quick and easy bar of choice because it the hotel's rooftop. Firstly, if you hit it right (and are a guest), there is daily champagne happy hour from 4-6 pm in the lobby. Then you will also get a $30/day credit for the restaurant and bar (including Rocks on the Roof). Make your way to the roof for a menu that is mostly exclusive (some food/drinks might overlap with Coastal 15 restaurant, but not all). I LOVED the Peaches and Beaches cocktail. My bartender was kind enough to sub ginger beer instead of sparkling wine (I don't like wine in my cocktails), and it was PERFECT.
google avatar

Antonietta D.

Yelp
Nice views. My partner had a Maui Mule which he didn't care for. I had wine. Nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Located on the roof of the Bohemian Hotel - the elevators I agree can be confusing but we managed after a hotel employee guided us over to the one for express service to the top. This place is pretty swanky and the cocktails are well crafted but the bar service is pretty lackluster could be self inflicted distractions or just a lack of attention to detail being it's mid afternoon and this place was mostly empty when we arrived so overwhelmed and busy does not apply. We grabbed a table inside directly across from the bar, and finally decided to walk up and place our order after having a distant conversation with the bartender who was not going to direct a server to our table or make an effort to take the order himself - after finishing the first round we waited for someone to sell us a second round again only after we stood at the bar did we get to place our order, I can't blame this on a staffing issues there were 3 people behind the bar and two to three servers in a mostly empty bar although the later it got it started to have a steady flow of customers entering and the music volume increased exponentially as well, to the point we weren't able to continue our conversation at the table so we cashed out before looking at the food options. Great views and exceptionally crafted cocktails and the prices well this ain't the dive bars six floors down that line the river - I'd come back now that I've gotten an education on how things work here and just so you know there are no house margaritas they are the same price as the Kessler Margarita so go for the top shelf or a vodka mule, come early to experience this place before it gets crazy...

Yelp
Probably the worst service we've ever experienced - slow to the max. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was busy, so when it took the server 10 minutes to even get to us, it was ok. But then, it took another 10 mins for her to get menus. Then 10 mins more to come back for our order. All the while the place is getting less crowded. Drinks took another 20 mins to come. Meanwhile, tables around us were getting drinks and food... and they sat down after us. Our food arrived about 30 mins after ordering and was ice cold. It also wasn't done the way we asked (wanted the "comeback" sauce on the side... it was on bun). We just ended up sending it back, finishing our drinks and heading out the door. I don't think we'd go back.

Yelp
Skip this place.. Service slow slow slow.. I was there on Tuesday night. If you sit or order from the bar it seems fine, table services was slow - took 45 min to get drinks and food. Would NOT recommend!

Yelp
I ordered a margarita on the rocks when we first got here and it was awful. Switched to the peaches and beaches which was amazing. The staff was not engaging at all throughout our visit. Pork rinds were very salty and the pimento cheese looked old. Lettuce wraps were tasty but drowning in sauce. You could def tell none of it was fresh and mostly frozen.

Jan J.

Yelp
View was great - we went on a very quiet evening and was at sunset - amazing views - only tried the garlic fries and a couple local beers - service was great but there was only a few of us there -

Lisa Z.

Yelp
service was great. sat outside and manager immediately arrives to clean our tablw and get a server. Haven was very attentive, took our order and had drinks within minutes of order. Great atmosphere, great drinks and service. Highly recommend when visiting Savannah
google avatar

Yelp
Drinks were meh, view is great, food was underwhelming & burnt. Service was good though. We were visiting on a girls trip & really needed good food, views & drinks after a long day of traveling. Mediocre.

Yelp
Stayed at the Bohemian and decided to just pop up for a drink. CHRIS was our server. Food: ordered an app and a sandwich. The lobster hush puppies were ridiculous. Top notch. Drinks: Old Fashioned, Heartbreak, and local beer selections were had, and we both did the, "you have to try this!". Drinks are solid. Staff: Chris was nothing short of phenomenal. Best server we had in the city, gave us recommendations, was incredibly attentive, etc. Again, top notch. Ambiance: Great view, comfortable feel, music wasn't too loud, and we could sit and have a nice conversation. Could sit here for an evening and have a blast. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Yelp
The setting is wonderful!! Great ambiance with beautiful art work and with a great view of the river. We ordered the lobster and shrimp hush puppies. They were very good! Service was great! Will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for a couple of drinks. Ended up drinking a couple Makers on the rocks and some truffle Parmesan fries that were some of the best I have had. I highly recommend coming here for a drink or some fries. The other food looked good as well. Excellent view as well.

Yelp
When you walk in you just know you're going to have a grand time. I was greeted with their pleasant signature fragrance in the lobby, amazing! The view: Beautiful... it's serene by day, you may not want to leave. The drinks: Sophisticated... I had the Fleurita margarita with mezcal, smoky and fruity goodness on the rocks. The food: The wings were sweet and delicious. Service: Outstanding! She'll be back!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Service is possible at best. Same with the food. And our bill was ~60 and so not worth it. Walk up for the view, eat elsewhere.

Anna M.

Yelp
Loved this place! Great atmosphere. Quiet and cozy! Great location, right the riverside. Food was great! We pretty much order whole appetizers menu and were not disappointed. Main dishes were delicious. As well as cocktails. Staff was super nice, helpful pleasant. We had a great time! Def would recommend this place for lunch, dinner or just drinks.
google avatar

Lucas W.

Yelp
The view saves the rating because I probably wouldn't come back. The drink menu was just so-so to the point where my wife and I both opted for some pretty standard beer choices. Service was severely lacking as it took forever to get our check. We ended up walking up to the bar to close out instead of waiting at our table. It's a nice rooftop vibe and nice rooftop view, but the drinks and service make it forgettable.

Yelp
We vacationed in Savannah for a week. Of all of the places we ate, this was our favorite. We got a table with a great view of the sunset and had drinks while enjoying the delicious Korean BBQ chicken and crab hush puppies. If we ever come back to Savannah, we'll definitely go here again.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
We had the good fortune to be told of this place. Go there right before sunset. The view of the skyline at sunset is wonderful. Had a couple of gin and tonics while we waited. Well served, Hendricks were well made and got me in my happy place. Met some friends whom shared great advise for places to go and things to see. Our server Demi was fantastic. off to Olympia...

Yelp
I've been visiting Rocks for years and it's always an experience with lasting memories. Make it your challenge to recreate a photo, like I did as you visit over the years. Great view, great service, and great drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic food, view and ambiance! Put it on your list! We never miss it on trips to Savannah
google avatar

Swaz F.

Yelp
Great location but the bar was way understaffed. You have to sit at the bar to get any service from the bartenders. You can tell that they are a bit stressed because none of the staff even made any attempt to be friendly to any customer. The view of Savanah was great but Bar Julian also have a great view with much better and friendlier services. Drop in here for a quick drink if you are super thirsty and can't get in any place else.
google avatar

Mysha R.

Yelp
Our bartender was amazing and made awesome drinks. I can't remember his name, but he had a septum piercing( if you see it, you're in good hands). We got the agave flight and old fashioned. For food? We tried the Southern Fries Wings with a Buffalo dry rub. The wings are the best in town! The vibes here were very relaxing, as the the place was never over crowded. The patio was nice and spacious, with a pleasant breeze.

Chanda K.

Yelp
What is up with the rude hosts here in Savannah...we were so excited to get a seat to watch the sunset, but the rude host looked like he hated us as we walked off the elevator. Then, after 25 minutes of no service, we left without eating.

T S.

Yelp
Amazing roof top place with great drinks, great service, and a great view of the waterfront. Great place to start or finish your dinner at the restaurant on the 1st floor.

Chris M.

Yelp
Visited this bar on the Bohemian rooftop and was not disappointed. The service was prompt and correct, the view was amazing, and the food and drinks were awesome!

Yelp
Service was great, the food was even better. Thoroughly enjoyed the Irish coffee with my breakfast on Riverstreet

Yelp
May 2021 This open & airy establishment was packed on a late Saturday night. Think good jams from the DJ, an ethnically and generationally diverse crowd, a u-shaped bar with staff moving fast and the requirement to pay as you go or once your card is swiped, it's returned with the option to keep it open. That said, getting in was slightly challenging. We arrived at the, you must wait downstairs in the hotel lobby, etc to enter after others leave because we're at our socially distance capacity. Luckily for us, as we pressed the elevator button to head downstairs and likely find someplace else, a group of about 6 were exiting and interested in piling in the elevator that traditionally has a max capacity of maybe 8. Perfect storm. So we stepped off and entered the roof and managed to snag a balcony seat facing downtown versus the river, getting to view car parades and others enjoying the night with a good breeze in the air. Loved the vibe, location and set up. A solid option if solo, with a group or couple.

Yelp
Pretty views! Drinks were good and food was decent. It's a very simple, cut and dry place.

Jordan F.

Yelp
Great views, awful service. Were greeted by the hostess and quickly taken to a table with a view of the river. Waited about fifteen minutes before we flagged down a waitress and asked if we could order a beer. She apologized and said we weren't in her section but she'd get our server. Ten minutes later, we walked out, unserved and went to Rocks on the River, downstairs, where we received very similar service.

Yelp
Rooftop views along the Savannah River. Located in the Bohemian Hotel, the rooftop bar is a great place to hangout, nosh and have a drink. If only there were fans blowing because it was HOT and humid this late afternoon without shade!! The outdoor seating wraps around all sides with tables. The drinks were well made and refreshing. Though I wanted a stiffer version off the drink, it was probably best having a more chill cocktail. The bites looked good but maybe next time.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Gorgeous view of the river and definitely worth watching the sunset from the outdoor seating. Food menu is limited but crab Rangoon nachos and the shrimp tacos were both delicious! Wife really enjoyed her peach drink as well!

Bex W.

Yelp
Somethings wrong with their air conditioning it was absolutely awful sitting there waiting for my drink and I also witnessed the manager treating her employees very poorly. my drink was good though.

Yelp
We're staying in the hotel while here in Savannah. Each night we've gone to Rocks on the Roof for before dinner drinks and each night the service has been beyond frustrating. On the first night we were welcomed by the hostess who told us to sit wherever we'd like. So we did and waited for a server. And we waited and we waited. Several of the servers made eye contact with us but refused to come to the table. Not even a smile and wave phased them. Shockingly, a couple who'd arrived after us and were seated next to us not only was approached by a server but received their drinks AND some food all while we still hadn't even been approached. So McDreamy went up to the bar thinking perhaps we were supposed to order from there. The bartender then blatantly ignored him going so far as to serve the gents sitting next to him, walk past him, do something on her terminal, stare into space, turn around and then start a conversation with her coworkers. He called over (politely) to get her attention to which she feigned ignorance of his presence before and took his order. The next evening, nearly the same thing happened. We were led to a table by the hostess, given drink and snack menus, and again nobody came to the table for our order. More direct eye contact, more refusals to come to the table. Ten minutes later as we were considering our other bar options, a server finally came over to take our orders. I don't get it. We weren't mean, rude, or hostile to anyone. We weren't loud. We weren't treating anyone poorly or scowling at anyone. We are middle-aged so they couldn't possibly have confused us with a bunch of punks trying to get someone to serve them alcohol. We were simply sitting there patiently both nights making conversation and wondering why the crew was treating us as if we were invisible or possibly perfectly visible but suffering from some communicable disease. The bright spot was the Aviator drink, which was delicious when it finally arrived. But on night two they had no IPAs on tap. So McDreamy was bummed. Go to this place for the view and the open air seating. But BYOB because you may never get served.

Yelp
A great vibe and venue for views and vibrations. Went with a group of 11 and had a great waitress, great wine and a charcuterie to die for. Second time I have been here and it did not disappoint.

Yelp
It was a beautiful Easter Sunday here in Savannah, so my wife & I went for a walk through the Historic District down to the river, where we found ourselves at The Bohemian Hotel. We decided to check out the rooftop bar and we're glad we did. It is a great-looking bar with a fantastic view of the Savannah Riverfront and the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. We had our day planned, so we only had time for a quick drink. The bar had a special Easter cocktail menu and my wife chose a drink called The Royal Treatment, which consisted of Empress 1908 gin, Creme de Violette, Los Monteros, and lemon juice, all for a very reasonable $9. My wife pronounced it "strong" and our professional and friendly server Mel informed her that it was a "Savannah pour." I'm not much for mixed drinks, so I just went with a draft Guinness for $8. Again, a very reasonable price considering the location and the scenery. We had a nice time and will definitely be returning.

Alisa R.

Yelp
Nice view and good vibes. Drinks and food were alright. Nice spot to stop in and enjoy the outdoors with a cocktail in your hand.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
This is "the place" for having a drink with a view in Savannah! You can find this place by entering the Bohemian Hotel and taking the back elevator all the way to the roof. You are then presented with a beautiful decor with artwork, indoor bar, and many tables for outdoor seating with a fantastic view of the river and bridge. Our bartender was really friendly and thorough. She made our drinks up real quick. The Georgia cocktail was a bit too sweet for me, but it was tasty. I had the Angry Orchard Cider which is one of my favorites. Sitting outside was so relaxing while admiring the view and feeling the cool breeze. You can't go wrong with this choice folks!

Chandler M.

Yelp
Great roof top bar. Abigail took care of us and was very attentive. Great service and great drinks !!
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
Wow- what a disappointment. It's been a few years since I've dined here, but boy the food and service has declined significantly. First, the margaritas are simply a cheap mix with little to no tequila. Second, the menu (and it's not a full menu) is now very limited. I could have gotten more chicken in one 8 piece Chick-fil-la box than my wife and I received in TWO appetizers. And they were not really good. Lastly, while the servers were friendly, service was very disorganized. We had three different interchanging servers. One did not seem to know what the other was doing. I had to actually go and get silverware from the bar after waiting 40 minutes on a minuscule amount of chicken. I also ordered a Diet Coke that I NEVER received and then got billed for it. Which I got corrected- but the bill was over $90... We also had to track down a server to pay our bill as the servers were conversing at the bar when we were ready to leave. Save your money and time...

Adam B.

Yelp
I took the elevator up for flights and took a seat on the outside patio. The view offers a great shot of the river, but the main things I can see are the Savannah convention center, the bridge, and some sort of industrial yard, along with a bunch of trees. It actually feels more like overlooking the shipyard in Norfolk with a forest. The speaker was primarily playing hip hop music, which wasn't the best to suit the mood. I had two beers: the Pretoria Sky Walker Golden Ale and a Coastal Empire Praline Amber. I think I preferred the Amber, not because I'm a fan of sweeter beer, but because it was uniquely Georgia with pecan flavor. And even though I didn't order any food, I appreciate that they're adding an international flair based off the countries that typically send goods into the Savannah port.
google avatar

Kennedy P.

Yelp
Very nice setting. Went early evening and stayed through sunset. Cocktails and service were both good.

Zak M.

Yelp
Eh it's an alright place- hard to beat rooftop- inside is on the fancy side but it's great to be outside in the sun and good views- pricey drinks and it was a little messier for a fancy forward place
google avatar

Steph S.

Yelp
It was a last minute trip to Savannah and a last minute trip up to Rocks on the River. We tried eating downstairs first. We were seated immediately however never were waited on after sitting for 15+ minutes at the table. So we decided to head up to the top bar for tapas and we were so glad we did. The view is tremendous and the ambiance has a cool vibe. The cocktails are legit and make sure to tip your waiter and bartender!! We need hardworkers like that and believe me they were working hard last night and the night before! We ordered the pulled pork nachos which were fantastic! Full of flavor and the chips were still crispy in spite of the heavy contents. We also had the truffle fries just for the fun of it. They were fabulous! And there was a generous portion! We look forward to returning!!

Mary Clare G.

Yelp
Drinks interesting, but wait after ordering was at least 20min! Customers at bar got served right away, so server either forgot to place order or their system is inefficient. Using our hotel credit bit will go to rooftop bar next door at Cotton Sail Hotel tomorrow as Uber driver recommended. And, now, after getting tab, server rang in bottle of prosecco instead of glass!
google avatar

Toby L.

Yelp
Dropped in for a late night drink on their outdoor terrace. The view was great. Could see down the river and the JW Marriott area was all lit up and looked great. It's in the Bohemian hotel - take the elevator to top floor when you walk in. Warning - when we went up it was around 10pm, the inside section was absolutely pumping with dance music and young people jumping around and having a blast. So if that's your thing it's a ton of fun. For those looking for a bit calmer then head to the outside balcony, for anyone looking for a quiet drink this is not for you.... Server took quite a while to come, to get drinks and also to get check so beat that in mind if you need to be somewhere.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Great drinks. Great view. Great service. What else do you need? The hotel is amazing and unique unlike any others here. Mixes that southern nawlins balcony theme with rooftop bar and the elegance of the Savannah River. Not a better seat to boat watch in this beautiful city. Room decor is incredible and always clean. If you do visit the Rooftop, give Carré a shout. She makes great bourbon drinks with magnificent efficiency. Cheers to the staff!

Cat F.

Yelp
This bar was packed! I think everyone was out because of a combination if perfect weather, mask mandate loosened, and the Kentucky Derby. We still managed to find balcony seating, but on the backside overlooking the downtown, not the river. I saw room for a few more tables, hint hint hint. They had an extensive menu plus lots of speciality drinks. Btw, you can drink on the streets all the way up to Forsyth Park! I thought it was just River Street! Plenty of indoor, outdoor, bar seating. Social distancing only possible on the balcony.
