Rockwell and Rose Steak and Cocktails

From the moment I walked into this newly opened restaurant, I knew I’d stumbled upon something special. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and warm comfort—soft lighting, thoughtful décor, and an inviting energy that makes you want to stay awhile. The menu is creative without being pretentious, offering familiar favorites elevated with unique twists. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented. You can tell the chefs care deeply about their craft; the attention to detail shines through in every bite. Service was another highlight. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food they were serving. Especially Justin behind the bar, his recommendations were spot on. Even though the restaurant is new, everything felt smooth, well-organized, and welcoming—like they’ve been perfecting the experience for years. Whether you’re grabbing a casual dinner, celebrating a special occasion, or seeking a new go-to spot, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

We live in Philly and decided on a night downtown at Rockwell & Rose, and it couldn’t have been better. The restaurant itself is beautiful, set in a cool historic building in Washington Square with an atmosphere that’s elegant yet comfortable. Our server Jordan was fantastic, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. Tim, the manager, checked in throughout the evening and made sure everything was perfect. You can tell the entire team really cares about their guests and takes pride in what they do. The food was exceptional. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and served with the signature maître d’ butter candle, which was such a fun and creative touch. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the baked Alaska was the perfect way to finish the meal. We even took a cheesecake to go, because we couldn’t resist. It’s rare to find a restaurant that nails the food, service, and atmosphere all at once, but Rockwell & Rose does exactly that. You can feel the great culture and leadership behind the scenes. This spot is a gem, and we’ll definitely be back

Our server was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable, patient and kind. The food was delicious - crab cake eggrolls were great to start, dry aged bone in KC steak was cooked to perfection, brussels sprouts were crispy and flavorful. The cognac cream and root beer beef just were delightful enhancements. The lobster mac & cheese is a must try! The s’mores cheesecake was not too heavy - a great finish. Drinks were crafted with quality. The ambiance makes me feel like I’m in Miami! I will definitely be visiting again!

Only here once, but the bar/lounge is gorgeous - old wood carved bar with comfortable seating. Tried the chicken liver mousse - delicious with the usual accompaniments but also grainy mustard. Crabcake spring rolls - not my thing, but the crab was flavorful, crispy. Not too much for beer lovers, but wine and cocktails all day. Had a Provance rose that was spot on. Attentive service, and as friendly as you want to be. We chatted with them all!

Great service, our server was really attentive and welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed. Loved the cocktails and the steak!

We recently celebrated our family’s December birthdays at this restaurant. It was our first time there. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and sat at a very nice table. Our waiter was one of the best that I have ever had. He was friendly fun and educated us on their menu, including making some great suggestions for appetizer, main courses, desserts, and drink drinks, including wine. We stayed a long time in our table and were the last table at the restaurant. The staff could not have been more accommodating, and we never felt rushed at all, and they actually even sang happy birthday to us. They really made the night special and my family had a really great time. Of course the food was 100% perfect. I cannot say enough about our experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I went here for my birthday and had an exceptional experience. Matt was our server and was very nice and professional and explained the specials and salad options in great detail. They offered us a champagne toast since it was my birthday which was a very nice touch. The food was amazing I high recommend the Brussel sprouts and twice baked French onion baked potato. The atmosphere was your classy steakhouse atmosphere with a unique twist that I loved. We will most definitely be going back

Everything from the ginger carrot salad dressing to the sourdough bread charred with the bone marrow appetizer, and beyond to the bleu cheese crème brûlée on top of the perfectly cooked filet, was pure perfection. Not to mention the best baked Alaska dessert I’ve ever had with a mint twist. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food with exceptional service. Speaking of service, ask for Matt because he was amazing!

Amazing experience. Stopped by for a drink on a weekend Rittenhouse-OldCity walk. Loved the setting and the conversation with Justin and Alonso. Canceled our prior dinner plans and came here for dinner instead. Jordan took care of us amazingly. (Apparently he even made the Caesar salad). What a difference to the corporate stodgy steakhouse. We love this place. Will be coming back. (Early and often). 6 stars would be appropriate. Shout out to Chef Leo for the porterhouse - see pics!

I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday here. We had a reservation for 6 PM on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not crowded. The restaurant is new. The colors are vibrant yet soft and the decor is more trendy than usual for a steakhouse. The menu offers a bit of everything and I was excited to try the food. Our server was wonderful. She had a lot of knowledge about the food that was being served and had some great recommendations. While waiting for our drinks and hors d'oeuvres, the host came over and gave us a brief history lesson about the restaurant and it's conception as well as the building and the artwork around the restaurant. I will say for my budget. this is definitely a celebration restaurant. Our bill came to almost $400 with the tip. We had four drinks, two hors d'oeuvres, two main dishes, dessert and two sides. One of the desserts were complementary because it was my birthday. I found this to be a very nice gesture. I love the bacon wrapped scallops for a starter, and my husband had the steak tartar, which he enjoyed as well. I also had the crab cakes and fillet. This was delicious. I love the fact that the crabcakes did not have a lot of filler. The sides were really good. What a nice change to the twice baked potato by adding fried onion to the top. The lobster mac and cheese was really good and had ample lobster. My husband had a petite fillet with peppercorn sauce that he enjoyed and brussels sprouts that he enjoyed as well. for our desserts, I had the baked Alaska and my husband had the monkey bread. I have to say that the monkey bread was the only low spot in the dinner. My husband said that it was dry and taste a little overcooked. My baked the Alaska was wonderful with a brownie bottom and mint chocolate chip ice cream. I definitely would love to go back. There are other very interesting looking things on the menu and from what I hear they have a really nice happy hour at the oyster bar.
