I came here to try their GABF Gold award-winning beer, Baltic Porter. I was pleasantly surprised by its location. It is beautifully located in a park with a few tennis and pickleball courts. They also had a farmer's market going that day. This is the perfect spot for the entire family or just for you to enjoy a cold brew. I didn't eat any of their food. Street parking only. Dog friendly. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable about their beers.

Favorite place to stop by and play some chess, bring my dog, be in nature, eat some food/grab a drink, or walk around and see the beautiful art.

We love this place but are super disappointed with this past experience. The line when we got here was long, which is to be expected (it’s a nice night out). We ordered our food after waiting about 20 minutes in line, then we waited an hour and 15 minutes for it… I’m not one to complain about wait times because I get stuff happens but an hour and 15 minutes for one pizza?? Regardless of that, when we finally got our food there was NO apology, didn’t ask us if we’d like to be refunded, anything. All of that to pay 40+ bucks (we had drinks too and a very generous tip before we knew this would happen…) I’ve seen multiple reviews saying the same thing. I’m not sure what the issue is but please, if you have to hire more people, do it. If you have to open the third window you have, do it. Close the windows while you catch up on food orders. Anything. Just an overall unpleasant experience that truly makes me not want to come back and that’s unfortunate since it’s an awesome place.

Google
The atmosphere and environment at Rockwell Beer Garden are absolutely top-notch. It’s a beautiful spot to hang out — lively, spacious, and perfect for a laid-back afternoon or evening with friends. The vibe is exactly what you want in an outdoor beer garden: relaxed, social, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. We ordered the chicken wings, pizza, and chicken nachos, and none of them impressed. The wings were slimy and served cold, which was off-putting right from the start. The pizza was just okay — it tasted like something straight out of the freezer aisle, nothing special at all. The chicken on the nachos was the worst part; it tasted like it had been sitting around for days, dry and questionable in both texture and flavor. If you’re heading to Rockwell for drinks and a great atmosphere, you’ll probably have a great time. But if you’re hoping for good food to go along with it, you might want to eat elsewhere first.

We have spent many years living near Francis park and it still holds a special place in our hearts. Highly recommended.

Google
A great idea for a city park .. a modern outdoor cafe / beer garden. What a world🌏🍻

Google
Fun family vibes! Line was definitely long!! But, we were having a nice time so didn’t mind. Kids liked the playground right next door.

Google
Came for the Bagel Union pop-up event. I do love the atmosphere, and my friends like the beer selection. We are trying to come here more now that the weather is getting nicer. Lots of tables, two bathrooms, and water refill station which is awesome. Dogs are allowed!

Yelp
We really enjoy this space a lot... the kids can play at the park, you can bring dogs, check out Chess pieces from the bartender, and drink beer or a delightful Old Fashioned while sitting outside. They have a variety of food and light bites that lend well to an outdoor gathering area. They have pickleball courts and dreamy stringy lights above the seating area; definitely would enjoy going back at night. Food was delivered quickly and cocktails were made as you ordered at the window. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
We visited Rockwell Beer Garden for the first time during the week and I was pretty busy. We waited in a long line to order but they kept it moving pretty well. My husband ordered a beer and I got a tequila cocktail which were both good. We also ordered the pepperoni and Emilia pizzas to share with family. The pizza was good we ate all of that and probably could have had one more with our two kids. I did notice that there were a ton of families enjoying this space so it might be worthwhile to add some kids items to the menu.

Yelp
I came here on a date and that was the best, light but filling pizza I've ever had here in St. Louis. Everyone else can keep Imo's. This place is truly a hidden gem for pizza!

Yelp
Highly recommend! Great unique spot in Francis Park to enjoy drinks and snacks outside. Very family and pet friendly.

Yelp
This is located in Francis Park. This is a great place to order pizza and beer after playing pickleball or tennis. It has an outdoor patio only and is dog friendly. The bathrooms are located in the back. We ordered a supreme pizza and beer after playing pickleball. Pizza was tasty and crust was crispy.
google avatar

Lizzy L.

Yelp
Great location right next to a playground and pickleball courts with street parking. The outdoor ambiance is lovely with string lights and ample seating. The kids enjoyed watching them prepare the pizza crust through the window. You order at the window and then they text you when the food is ready. Unfortunately, it took them more than 30 minutes to prepare our appetizer (pretzel bites with beer cheese), and 45 minutes to prepare the thin-crust pizzas. The pretzel bites and the pepperoni pizza were good, but on the smaller side for portion size. We also tried the snack basket which was interesting--I liked the beef bites which are similar to beef snack sticks.

Yelp
The food is amazing the service is a try hard but difficult to serve out of a small back of the house situation. It's a great spot to grab some delicious snacks and drinks. Love it.
google avatar

Sandra K.

Yelp
Had supreme pizzas, a beer, and a non alcoholic margarita. Everything came out quickly and the pizza was delicious. If you're hungry get two and come a little early to scout out a spot to sit because it's busy.

Yelp
First time visiting and definitely a dog friendly place. I plan to return with Teddy later this summer when we are visiting this part of the STL city area. This place is order at the window & bonus they have both drink options and pizza available. Small menu and appears to work well for this business.

Yelp
Had a great time hanging out at Rockwell Beer Garden after picking up some Sangria starter from Southside Alchemy and veggies from the Tower Grove Thursday evening market. It was a beautiful Thursday evening. Enjoyed my Watermelon Sugar High cocktail while waiting for our pizzas. They were honest about the hour plus wait for pizza but it wasn't unexpected with how busy they were. Pizza came out right at an hour and fifteen and it was so good. We got a Just Pepperoni and a Supreme. Would order both again, for sure. We ate, sharing picnic table space with another group. Just know to expect that when they are crowded. Wasn't a problem at all. Go, enjoy the night with friends. Order some cocktails or beer and a couple of pizzas. It's a great time.

Yelp
Rockwell is a go to spot for casual outdoors drinks. They are always hosting events like Trivia, Ladies Night and have partnerships with local businesses. Would recommend coming on Mondays to support Izumi and friends or on Thursday for their Market!

Yelp
This is a great add to the neighborhood, to be honest there are better breweries in Stl and better pizza, but it is nice to be able to go to a park let the kids run around and have a beer with friends. The pizza, it is tasty but not awesome, and hit or miss if they sell out while you are 20 minutes waiting in line. I could never count on this for a meal with my family because I have gone so many times only to find out after getting a beer and wait in line that they are sold out of food. Still love going. Just think there could be things to speed up beer service and better communication for pizza availability. QR code ordering, a website, could alleviate a lot of that as well as why not have a person with a tub of canned beer out there as well. That would keep things moving!

Yelp
Spring is almost here, but super glad they opened Rockwell Beer Garden already this year! Thank God the weather was so nice their opening week! Great place to hang out with friends, day drink, and eat food. Place is family-friendly, Kid-friendly, and Pet-friendly. I'll have to bring my cat in a stroller one day! :) DONT JUDGE ME! Their Bourbon Smash was refreshing and delicious. However, the paper straws they provided does not work because the ice is too thick for it to go through. You may have to drink it out of the cup. Many variety of drinks: Coffee, beers, wines, non-alcoholic beers, frozen drinks, etc. Go check it out! Few inconveniences: Parking and Bathroom There is only street parking (that I know of) Only one bathroom There is another bathroom across the playground if you do not mind walking.

Yelp
When I first heard about the beer garden going into Francis Park it was just a blip on the radar for me and I wasn't sure what to expect. The only association I had for the park was that my in-laws had met there while playing tennis. I'm happy to say the tennis courts are still there and have been joined by pickle ball courts. In terms of the beer garden is is a repurposing of an existing modest structure. You order at a window and then can take a seat at any of a number of picnic tables. There are maybe thirty or so tables sitting on a newly constructed outdoor area. It is immediately adjacent to the tennis/pickleball courts and it gives you the feel of being part of the neighborhood. There is a playground a short distance away in the park and we have started using the beer garden as a nice summer hangout spot for us and our friends with kids. The kiddos go and play while the parents wait for food. Some of the parents just chill at the tables and drink while other parents chaperone. Once the food is ready we all congregate back at the tables. The beer is good and similar to what you get at the main Rockwell establishment. The food is primarily pizza and then appetizers. We tend to get the grilled veggies as well as a sampler platter that has pickled veggies, cheese curds, pretzels, and then some G&W meat sticks. The pizza is very good as well. Overall the beer garden is a great addition to Francis Park and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a chill outdoor place to grab some food and/or a beverage. Even better, when you are done you are just a short walk/drive away from Ted Drewes!

Yelp
Great night for a Market. A little hot but at least there is a breeze. Went to the Thursday night market at Frances Park which is right next to the Beer Garden. I purchased a T-Shirt at the market and the vendor asked me if I was gonna drink tonight. I said I was sure thinking about it and he handed me a card for a free beer at Rockwell. Rockwell is such a great venue to have at the park. They really bring in a crowd. The patio are is nicely covered and they have fans going (heaters in the cooler months too). The beer is great, pizza is yummy and workers are very nice and appreciative. We have had their hummus before and it was okay, not as good as the pizza. An added plus is that I can walk here!

Yelp
Nice outdoor patio near Francis park. Came here and got some pretzels and a beer. Good location and good beer and food. Check it out!

Yelp
this beer garden is a hidden gem that everyone should experience. Whether you're looking for a relaxing evening with friends or a fun night out, this place truly has it all. Cheers to good times and great beer and drinks! They also have food and coffee.

Yelp
Visiting the beer garden on a Sunday afternoon is something I recommend for everyone! The location is super perfect to meet up for some drinks and to enjoy the outdoors. You can also ask for a pitcher of beer which is a good way to share with friends! I ordered my drinks at the walk-up window and they serve the beers with a smile. They have plenty of seating and there is also so much space in the park to put a blanket down for a picnic. If you have kiddos with you, you can grab a drink and then go watch your kids play at the playground which is super close. Each of the drinks I ordered were super tasty and when it was time for a snack, we opted for a pizza which was cooked to order and took about 10 minutes of waiting which is not bad at all for a pizza. They give you a pager when you order and then when your pager goes off, you can walk to the pick-up window. It's a good system and process. I really love this location of Rockwell and can't wait to visit again soon!

Yelp
Good pizza, good beer. The food and drinks itself very very good but the reason to come here is certainly the ambiance. It's an outdoor patio area where you can talk with friends on a nice sunny day and drink a cocktail or beer. The food menu seemed quite limited and half the menu was just pizza. The food also took quite a while to come out, like 40+ minutes. Location is next to the tennis courts of a park, so there is parking for the park itself as well as street parking nearby. Overall, it's a good place to catch up with friends and chill out on a nice day.

Yelp
First time here. Having a beer garden with food by pickleball & tennis fields in Francis Park is a great idea. We got Crisp rice lager & Moon Base stouts were delicious. Pretzel bites were ok.

Yelp
When I heard there was a new beer patio in St. Louis that I had yet to try, I knew I had to check it out. Rockwell Beer Garden is located inside Francis Park adjacent to the playground and tennis/pickleball courts. You order at a window and have a selection of 15-20 shaded (daytime) and fully-lit (nighttime) picnic tables to choose from for seating. They offer concessions of weekdays and the full kitchen menu is available on weekends, which includes pizza and appetizers. They also offer a variety of different drinks from specialty coffee, to beer, to wine, to cocktails, making it so that there is something for everyone. I ordered the Ward 8 and a friend of mine ordered the Watermelon Sugar High, which are just a few of their signature drinks. While I enjoyed my drink, with a price tag of $14 including tip, I may stick with beer on my next visit. Also, worth noting, outside food is not permitted on the patio. Overall, Rockwell Beer Garden is a great addition to Francis Park, which is well kept and has excellent free amenities. This will certainly be one of my summer go-to locations with friends.

Yelp
We hit up Rockwell during an outdoor market...in Nov! Cold? Yup! What better reason to sidle on up to a hot kitchen for some warm bites? Their menu isn't large but seemingly just right for outdoor snacking. We made our way to the order window and the service was quick and efficient. We ordered the pretzel bites and a pizza, plus a couple cold brews and hot cider. The pizza was StL style but very tasty - not your standard Imos, more along the lines of specialty but with the down-home taste. The pretzel bites were hot and mealy, and the best part besides the heat was the dipping sauces. Hot cheese and mustard rounded out the little starter nicely. Easy, tasty, quick and well made. Looking forward to trying it when not wearing a parka and long Johns.

Yelp
This place has the best atmosphere! Beer & drinks were pretty great too! Definitely want to go back next time we're in STL!

Yelp
My 1700th review. I love Francis Park and I'm a Rockwell Beer fan. Obviously I was here for the pizza though! Pizza is my one true love. So I ordered Pepperoni. It's a thin and crisp crust topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and Ezzo pepperoni and cut in squares tavern style. If you don't know what Ezzo pepperoni is it's made to cup and char at a high heat. Yes, the casing on the edges gets crisp, the pepperoni cups, and a little pool of grease collects in the cup. It's blissful. This was an excellent pizza. I paired it with the Rockwell Passing Clouds. My dinner date went with the Margherita pizza. Next time I will try the Emilia or the special. Great addition to Francis Park and St. Louis Hills!
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great drinks, and great pizza. It took us a bit of time to make it for pizza with the hype around the pizza after opening ... we will definitely be back as my husband and I felt this might be some of our favorite pizza in St. Louis. The crust was thin yet flavorful, almost buttery. The toppings were delicious - a generous amount of cheese, and flavorful combinations of additions. When it comes to beverages, I appreciate that they also have a variety of alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages that are not beer. The atmosphere is relaxed and both family friendly but also a fun low-key spot for friends. In warmer months there are fans to keep a breeze, and when it's cold they have heaters. Come check it out next time you are in need of a patio, a beer, a pizza, or all of the above!
google avatar

Kristin H.

Yelp
So cute and the margarita is actually fire for it being a brewing company lol. The park is so cute and there's hanging plants so you actually feel like you're in a garden.

J. M.

Yelp
Terribly slow and disorganized. We were told food was about 45 minutes, and over an hour later, still nothing. Asked if we could at least get pretzel bites early while we waited for one (small, expensive) pizza. "No." was only rude answer
google avatar

Brianna N.

Yelp
I love Rockwell, and they just keep getting better!! The beer garden is so cute, and the perfect place to take friends & family! The beer is of course perfect, and their pizzas are great too! If beer & pizza isn't your thing (I will try not to judge you), they have a big selection of food & drink! They have mimosas, bloodies, coffee, baked goods from Whisk, pretzels, chips, cocktails & soda! There's something for everyone, and the atmosphere is just prime. Highly recommend spending the next gorgeous day here!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect summer spot! Rockwell Beer Garden has a big awesome patio in the middle of Francis park. Lots of people were stopping by for beers after playing tennis or watching soccer games! A friend and I met up here and shared a pizza. We got the supreme and it was delicious. It took a while for the pizza to be ready but that means they made it fresh. I tried their Passing Clouds beer which was a light, refreshing Belgian wheat beer. Perfect for summer (and people like me who don't really like hops flavor)
google avatar

Kaylee V.

Yelp
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN ORDERING if you are abstaining from alcohol or sober! I'm going to preface this by saying that yes I am fully aware this is a beer garden with a main purpose of serving alcohol. However, there are non-alcoholic drinks listed on the menu so I figured I'd be alright ordering a strawberry lemonade frozen drink. The online menu specifically states that this drink is NA so I figured I'd be served a drink with no alcohol. I'm 2 years sober and my friend doesn't drink either, and we were both drinking an alcoholic beverage we were led to believe was NA. This could've been a much worse situation if we were on any sort of medication that cannot be mixed with alcohol or even pregnant. I really hope this experience doesn't happen to anyone else.

Terry R.

Yelp
I do not think this should be allowed in a park where kids play on jungle Jim's while the parents sit and drink. What a poor influence on the kids. Plus it can cause a big distraction for the parents drinking not watching their kids. I have lived here for 50 years and we were told never would the parks be allowed for private businesses to come in the parks to make money. No other park in St . Louis has a full time alcoholic bar in it. Where private people make a profit in St. Louis city. What a bad influence on the kids while they play in the park and daddy and mommy get drunk.
google avatar

Andria M.

Yelp
Grabbed a beer for a friend's birthday. Cute location in the park. Chill vibes. Looking forward to coming back for trivia - every other Tuesday. There's also yoga in the park on Tuesdays. Plenty of tables. Typical park bathrooms but they were very clean, gender neutral.
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Love this place. Always good service and a unique assortment of drink options, including for folks newer to the beer scene.
google avatar

Erin R.

Yelp
Really great outdoor patio area. The drinks and food are also really great, but the line to order is incredibly long and slow. They were also very adamant that we could not order pizza until 4pm, not a minute early, which is frustrating when the line is so long, forcing us to get back in line a second time.
google avatar

Kara B.

Yelp
Awesome to see Rockwell expand. This is a cute spot at Francis Park. They have fire pits and heaters to help keep you warm. The food and beverage list is not super big but offers varieties of beers/ wine/ spirits/ frozen cocktail/ and N/A beverages. Limited food list as well. I went for the grand opening and food was already sold out. Wish this opened during a warmer time of year to fully enjoy it but plan on returning!

Eric N.

Yelp
This review is solely to comment on Rockwell's restrooms. This Rockwell location does VERY good business. Yet they have disgusting restrooms with stainless steel prison-type toilets. I hope some day they fix this issue by upgrading the restrooms. It's not like they can't afford it.

Elias S.

Yelp
Great food and a good selection of beer. The chicken sandwich is excellent - grab one and a light beer and don't look back.
google avatar

Liv K.

Yelp
What a lovely addition to Francis Park. Beer, canned cocktails and seltzers and even a couple of mixed drinks and slushies. The setting is perfect, chill out and watch tennis or bring a blanket and a book. Great way to spend a sunny day.
google avatar

Anne H.

Yelp
Excellent beer and ambiance. Just know your food order will take 1 hr and 40 minutes, and they won't warn you how long the wait will be. They did refund us, but we won't try to eat here again. In contrast, we love the original Rockwell, and they warn you if the food is delayed.
google avatar

Madison W.

Yelp
Had a good experience for my first time here. Very cute and inviting area. Only complaint is they were out of several brews the night we stopped in.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
My friends and I love Rockwell Beer Garden - it is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the fresh springtime air! I have yet to try the food, but they have a variety of drink options (beers, wines, mixed drinks, frozen, etc). We like to play a few pickle ball matches at the courts next door before we head over to relax and hang out :)
google avatar

Brent N.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out after they installed it in my local park. it was a terrible experience and the pizza was absolutely disgusting. will never go again.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Potential to be a great place. Waited in line over an hour to get a beer then realized we had to wait in another line for food. Bathroom wait was even worse. Fun atmosphere, just need to figure out how to process people better.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Lucky we came here on a 100 degree Saturday afternoon, because no lines and low key chill vibe to enjoy the drinks and pizza. Loved the outdoor space with fans and shade sails to relax from the sun. Frose and patio potion hit the spot today with this heat! Thx for being open while it's hot!
google avatar

Carrie V.

Yelp
Yes it's in the park. Followed directions and looked at the park thinking there's booze served here? Sure nuff! Tasty beer , good looking pizzas and other snacks. There was also this frozen bourbon drink I want to go back and try. Just a heads up- there are children everywhere. Almost felt like everyone planned play dates for this spot so the adults could partake while the kids run around. Didn't harsh the vibe super nice spot.
google avatar

Melody S.

Yelp
So happy to see Rockwell Beer Garden expand to Francis Park and St Louis Hills We've only been here for beer, but looking forward to coming back and trying the pizzas and coffee selection!
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Cool place to grab a pizza and beer. Loves the fact it is in a park and pizza was off the chain good. If you get ambitious you can even get some exercise in at the pickle ball court.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and packed. However we got there at 6:30 and they were all out of dough...so no chance to try their pizza and that was disappointing. Only thing left to order was the chips and hummus, which took 30 mins to come out. Disappointing considering their other location has really good food. Would definitely give it another chance once the hype dies down.

Joe H.

Yelp
Really nice job on the ambiance and the beer called Sven is outstanding. Went to order food and they were all sold out. Ironically we went back the next morning to try them for bfast -- sold out for bfast too. I will give them one more try and then I am done.
