Metro Detroit’s Best Candy and Chocolate Shops | Eater Detroit
"Visitors to Eastern Market love to sift through Rocky’s shelves and bulk bins. Find everything from massive gumballs to gummy worms to Dum Dums in the aisles. Rocky’s also sells nuts, spices, and other snacks." - Brenna Houck
I have been going to Rocky’s for years and always love going there while visiting Eastern market. They have so many bulk spices and herbs and hard to find ones also. I really like that they have a person that will get them out of the bin for you so not everyone is digging into the bulk bins. It’s a first come, first serve area so just make sure the person sees that you are waiting. Zandra helped get our spices and she was so friendly and courteous. They have a good assortment of nuts and dried goods. Be careful some of the prices of nuts can be a bit high. They have a fantastic candy area with all kinds of old fashion candy in bulk that is self serve. They have a large assortment of dried beans and pasta and also gift ideas.
Will go back.

Rocky's was a great place to stop and pick up some praline pecans and other snacks. They have a large selection of nuts, spices, and candies to choose from. You should have no problem finding something you like and it will definitely be delicious. Since it is a historic place, you should visit it if you are in the Detroit, Eastern Market area.

We had our first visit to Rocky's today! Wow, what a great store. It has the Old Detroit feel with all kinds of candy, nuts, spices, and coffee. Got to meet one of Rocky's grandson's, a super nice guy who gets customer service.

We used to love going to Rocky’s! Over the past year it’s just declined. It could be so great. That space is amazing. Put in a simple sandwich/coffee area, get some real signs. It’s like walking into a sad shop that’s closing. The spice area looks so old and dusty there’s no way I’d buy it. Taffy is gone, corn nuts tend to be stale now. Just sad as it has so much potential!

Going to miss Rockys
Theyve decided to close down after so many wonderful years. Loved their coffees.
Fresh ground for you. A bit pricey, but the taste of their chocolate raspberry is out of this world. Wish they carried some of the British sauces-HP sauce & lemon curd! Most of the servers are very helpful when they ate not too busy. I like coming here!

I’ve been going to this place for many years. I purchased a large bag of pistachios and didn’t really pay much attention to the cost. It was $52 for 4 lbs of nuts. I went to Whole Foods later that day and they were selling them for $9 a pound.
Eastern Market is no value these days. Tired of being gouged.
