Asheville Restaurants Urge Tourists to Return | Eater Carolinas

Let me tell you all, I been driving past this place for 15 years, and never paid attention. My friends were talking about it, but I was just never interested. Went in today, and let me just say this: I will go back there again. Super delicious chicken. I love that I could choose my level of spiciness. Delicious sides. Good prices. One little concern is the cleanliness of the cups, I had to return mine cuz it had spots all over it. Other then that great place.

Google
The chicken Royale is a pretty tasty sandwich with a quality breaded chicken. The Mac n cheese was okay but a bit mushy for my taste. The fries are ok but just your average crinkle cut fry. Service could definitely be better. First time the lady taking my order absolutely wanted to be anywhere else and didn't mind showing it. Plus both times I ordered I was told they'd text when order is ready to go...never happened either time. I'll go back but I won't be waiting for a non existent text.

Had a 10 hour road trip back home and since Ashville was about half way we decided to pull off for a long lunch to break it up. This place popped up and we decided to swing by on a whim, so glad we did. Amazing food, temperature was nice enough to hang out on the patio and the staff were great. Husband loves spicy food and even though he didn't get the spiciest level of chicken he was still in tears from the heat 🤣. Definitely stopping by again whenever we're up this way next time.

Google
The royale sandwich? The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had! Also rec the mac and cheese. The honey mild sauce was SO tasty and the medium sauce makes your throat tickle but no pain. The seating was easy enough to get on a weekday.

Google
We both got the chicken tender sandwich with sides. I got the Rocky's Hot with fries and she got the mild with macaroni and cheese. The Rocky's Hot was one down from Extreme Hot. It was flavorful but not that hot. You can see the seasoning on the picture below. I didn't drink my water throughout the entire sandwich. The sides were a good sized portion and my wife said the macaroni and cheese was good. There is outdoor seating which was nice and the staff was very courteous and friendly. The people at the table behind us got the fried chicken and it looked amazing! We will definitely be back.

If you are driving by on I-40, work Rocky’s into your plans! It’s not fast food, but it is absolutely worth the stop. This was our second visit, and it was just as good as the first. Staff is friendly, and atmosphere is a vibe. And don’t sleep on the banana pudding. It makes a great first course.

Google
WOW 🤩 The food at Rocky’s is so damn good. We went on a weekday around 11:30am and we barely beat the lunch rush. Everyone was so nice & friendly.. They took the time to walk you thru the menu..The fried chicken was Hot (temperature) and juicy.. I don’t like hot (spicy) food but my family had the heat turned up and they loved it.. the sides were excellent, sweet potatoes casserole and corn pudding hit the spot.. the collard greens, fried okra & the mac and cheese was fantastic!!

Google
I've missed this place for 3 years!!! Lived in Asheville for 5 years... And they haven't missed a beat! Still the best chicken I ever had! The sweet potato casserole will make you slap your momma and I just know this banana pudding is about to SLAMMMMM! My sone said his mild tenders were perfect and he crushed all his green beans! Next step for him is the chocolate pudding! 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
Wow, just an FYI if they say it's HOT, you better believe them. Stopped in here for dinner while visiting in area and oh so glad we did. This is your typical dive looking road side spot, but don't be fooled by the rough exterior. You will need sweet tea or water if eating one of their hot chicken items, but it is packed with awesome flavor & not just heat. Definitely worth it to eat hear if in the area. Can't wait to travel back & dine again.

Yelp
We heard raves about Rocky's Hot Chicken. Made a point to visit the next day. We came early and ordered Inside because trying to order on the smart phone was like talking to a blank wall. No advice, no comments no recommendations-? Not smart. Half rotisserie spicy.; two thighs regular with sides of Mac-cheese, mashed potatoes-gravy, ocra, and greens. I forgot the sauces. Fortunately the wife didn't. But back I went. The rotisserie wasn't spicy and the thighs were deeply crusted. Not totally how I envisioned our dinner. But the chicken was better than the sides. More gravy than potatoes, ocra in a bag ??, greens were tasty, but the Mac wasn't as special as it was hyped. The sauces were generous and we saved them. All in all- nice parking, nice decor, enjoyed that it has outdoors seating and will be back to test other choices. I wish the ordering gal would have given me more help and comments as to expectations. It wasn't busy, but her role is more than filling a check list. It's first-timer orientation as well.

Yelp
This is fried chicken, done right! And the fixin's that make you want to visit Grandma:) Nice patio spot to bring the family and have a wonderful meal. Friendly staff that is ready to help you with the menu. Don't miss this delicious fried chicken

Yelp
Yum...Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack on Patton Ave. Following a decent hike, I was faced with a dilemma: bank or spend the calories burned. It's clear which option I chose. My meal consisted of three fried tenders (medium hot), potato salad, collards and a dipping sauce, add in a soft drink, all for $20 + tip. This represents great value, potentially covering two meals. For tourists and visitors, Rocky's is a must-visit.

Yelp
Like with other similar restaurants, orders are placed right away where they bring the order to your table when ready. There was a bit of a line before us but then a much longer one after. Its very much a casual place with a southern comfort to it. Having eaten heavy before, my friend and I opted to share their 2 chicken thighs with side of fried okra and Sweet Potato Casserole. The chicken was tender and moist with a deliciously sweet and salty skin. The sides however, were not my favorite. The fried okra was a little soft and the casserole was too mushy for my likings. Overall, I really liked the chicken and would come back just for that. But I would also like to give the other side dishes a shot in the future when I come again.

Yelp
Rocky's Hot Chicken is the real deal if you're hunting for Nashville-style heat. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and packs a punch with its various spice levels. I went for the medium, and it had a nice kick without being overwhelming. I tried my friends hot and it was very spicy no kidding. The sides are where Rocky's shines. The fried green tomatoes were crispy and fresh. The mac and cheese is gooey and cheesy definitely not something from a box I would highly recommend, the mashed potatoes were well seasoned and tasty. The fries were hot and fresh. The corn pudding was like a stuffing and very flavorful. The collards were well seasoned. The ranch is also amazing! The staff are friendly and offered recommendations that adds to the overall experience. Rockys is definitely an experience some people may not like the spice or seasoning but that's what makes this place unique and authentic it's different in a good kind of way. The only thing I did not like was everything is self service.

Yelp
So the reason you're seeing the meal on a plate is because I ordered carry-out and needed a decent photo. The service and ambiance went well because I only had to wait a few minutes for it to be done. What I got was the 3 Whole Wings plate (spiced Mild) with fries, sweet potato casserole and mango habanero aioli. The fries had a good slight crisp to them, and the pecans in the sweet potato casserole were one of the best possible ingredients for it. The chicken was nicely cooked and not too spicy, and the aioli provided the perfect balance between the sweetness from the mango and the heat from the habanero. Overall, just a killer example of southern comfort food.

Yelp
Driving through Asheville and lucky enough to be close enough to finally try Rocky's hot chicken. Wow, this was a great stop on our journey. Definitely a shack with some indoor seating and a nice patio space... Extra points for being dog friendly! You order at the counter, take a number and have a seat and your food is brought to you. Everything was absolutely delicious, restaurant was clean, bathrooms were available and also clean... honestly one of the best fast food experiences we've had ever. My son enjoyed the chicken tenders and waffles. The portions were generous, and the tenders were super juicy. You could select whatever spice level you wanted, and he went with the honey to make it extra sweet with the syrup for his waffle. My husband and I split the pimento cheese BLT chicken sandwich and it was really good. We went with the medium heat, was just enough heat for us... Go spicier if you dare. Of the sides we ordered, the fries were fine, the mac & cheese was really creamy and gooey and great! We also loved the sweet potato casserole. Highly recommend this roadside stand if you're in the area; great value for the quality of food an Asheville iconic tradition.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken, staff were super friendly. A couple of heads up even if you order a plain chicken, the pickle on top is still spicy. I was fortunate enough someone in my group tried it before I did and gave warning. Feedback is this medium is a bit beyond your normal medium spice so be aware, but our spicy guy said that Spicy was in line with his expectations. The fries, potato salad, and Mac and cheese were all very good. No complaints at all.

Yelp
Awwww, this one stings because I really looked forward to coming to this place after visiting the Biltmore. So what's up with it? Pros: - Portions are MASSIVE. Don't get an appetizer. - The inside is cool and funky. - Fun menu that offers a lot. Cons: - Chicken was way overcooked - Mac and Cheese just tasted like water. - Ranch didn't really taste like anything. - Fried Green Tomato appetizer was too salty. Notice that none of the pros involved food. Bummer. So yeah, really bummed. We got fried green tomatoes and I love fried green tomatoes but these were weird. They were really hard past the breading, the jam with it tasted weird with it, and it overall tasted way too salty. I got the three tenders (hot) with fries and Mac/cheese. Maybe I've just grown up with my taste buds because I personally felt like nothing had a taste. I felt like the best thing on my plate was fries...and you're not coming here for fries. The chicken was really tough because of how overcooked it was. I'm talking you have to take a fork and knife and really put some strength into cutting it. You put it in your mouth and keep chewing. Also, the Mac and cheese had a watery/milky taste I wasn't feeling. My food looks amazing in the photo, but you know what? Maybe I just went on an off day. Sure, the fried green tomatoes and Mac and cheese aren't what I personally prefer, but overcooked chicken is a big no-no. You win some and you lose some.

Yelp
Possibly the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had. I ordered "medium" sauce, and it was perfect. It was hot but still flavorful. I ordered mac n cheese as a side dish. Wow, was it good! The service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was a bit dirty, which was disappointing. Would definitely eat there again. Probably order it to go though.

Yelp
Amazing food! Will be thinking about this meal for a while. The chicken is moist and flavorful and the sides are all so unique. Service is quick and staff is friendly. The restaurant is super casual but never felt rushed.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The whole time we were at the restaurant the line to order food was out the door. The vibe was chill and had a mountain hippie vibe. The food was amazing and there was a lot of variety on the menu. You can order your chicken to the degree of spiciness that you desire. The side were home style -collards,okra,sweet potato to name a few... supper tasty
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
i could not believe how this place has declined. the chicken was dry and tasteless. The shakes, that used to be amazing , were in a smaller cup and tasted and looked like flavored water, so very overpriced and the service for takeout was less than helpful . not going back i hear this has been the case for a while now .
google avatar

Chloe M.

Yelp
Corn pudding is amazing! The potato salad is great too. I was not super impressed with the chicken. Honestly, Popeyes has better flavor.
google avatar

Donniell R.

Yelp
Atmosphere is solid. Chicken sandwich is phenomenal. Mild is barely spicy at all then medium starts to have a kick to it. THE MAC POPPERS ARE TO DIE FOR. IF YOU ONLY GET ONE THING HERE PLEASE GET THESE. If I ever visit NC again (from Texas) I'll definitely be back. However the fries are terrible so get something else. But everything else was great that's why it still got 5 starts. The regular margarita was amazing as well. Perfect consistency and taste!

Yelp
Perfect spot post long day of travel. Comfort food and delicious. I got the fingers, in medium heat. Perfect, fresh breaded, real chicken strips at just the right heat for me. I like spice but went conservative just in case and I am glad I did. Got the collard greens and they were wonderful. Sweet potato casserole was also yummy. Great, friendly staff in a nice comfortable spot!

Yelp
Wowwwwwwza. The sides at this place are beyond amazing and truly encapsulate the southern experience. This is an order at the counter place. You order and recieve a number to put on your table. Dr I love that they have options for chicken that isn't just "hot". I have been known to get terrible acid reflux from hot chicken, so I decided to do their honey flavor. It was good, and still had that bit of spice without being overwhelming. The legs were big and juicy with crispy fried skin. Unfortunately I did get the chicken ick half way through. (Chicken ick- when someone becomes aware of what they are eating and can't continue) To avoid the chicken ick I would suggest doing the tenders instead. My husband had the tenders and I had no issues with them. The sides-- Y'all better buckle your seatbelt and come on down. I had the mac & cheese and the mashed potatoes and gravy. Both were beyond amazing. The mac & cheese was full of flavor without being too creamy or too dry. The potatoes, they were seasoned well, but the gravy really paired well with it. Not pictured- the coca-Cola chocolate cake. It was pretty dry, and the best part of it was the icing that was closer to fudge. This is the main reason for giving four stars, the cake didn't match the rest of the experience. Overall - I would come back and get the tenders and try more of their sides. I would maybe try their cookies but avoid any cake they offer.

Yelp
HOLY COW!!! So let's get into it. I heard SO much about Rocky's so I had to give it a try. As soon as you walk in, there is a nice chill vibe, with music to suit everyone. Christina was at the front counter and she was so nice! She helped guide me along with Salina the Manager. I decided to get a thigh and leg (Honey Mild flavor) and then I had a wing in the side (Mild). Now let me tell you, if you're not a spice girl, then literally mild was HOT to me but to the average person, it would be considered baby mild. The honey flavor had a honey taste with a small bite, now that's more up my alley lol! I had NO idea you get sides, so I selected the collard greens and sweet potato casserole and it was so soft like soufflé BOMB!!!! Listen...that's not it?! Once the plate arrived, the chicken leg was darn near the size of a turkey leg! I have never ever had a leg that big but I must say it was SO scrumptious!!! Of course, I can't leave with my Chardonnay! The staff was very nice and accommodating! Salina said, so you need a box for that?! lol! I was stuffed just off the sides and wing and had half of the leg. I went to Ingles and purchased some ketchup so I could eat the remaining items and yes ketchup because I'm literally chicken of the spice! Listen!! If you're in Asheville, I would highly recommend you taking a turn down to Rocky's! It was surely worth it! Next time I'll get plain chicken lol! But it was definitely worth trying. Until next time...cheers!

Yelp
Best fried chicken place I've ever been to. Would recommend going here on an empty stomach the food fills you up so fast The service is amazing and quick. Classy sports bar type of feel

Yelp
Rocky's is sooo good, their biscuits are too die for! They have great honey and butter to go along with it, I always have to order and extra one to scratch the biscuit itch, even though they are large! The chicken is very fresh, always comes out hot and super crispy. They have a lot of great flavors and spice levels, I can usually handle a medium here, because their spice is legit! The ranch and vegetables are fresh and tasty and my husband loves their sandwiches as well, he's not a huge pickle guy, but these are so good he has to have them. I also love the level of fast casual, ordering at the bar and seating myself and getting our own drinks. But they still have great fast service, we always stop by when we visit Asheville!
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
This place is a gem. I love the atmosphere and food. The chicken sandwich is one of the best I have had. They ask you how hot you like your chicken. There is a diagram from no heat to very hot: I had it hot and it was just right! It was served on a ciabatta bun and I love crinkle fries. I also ordered their hand squeezed lemonade which was tops! The chicken salad was also very big and filling. Their chicken was second to none. I would definitely be back! Highly recommended and the service was excellent!

Yelp
HOT and CRISPY hot chicken AND waffles? BOOZY cheerwine slushies?? Dog friendly enclosed and heated patio? Need I say more? COUNT ME IN. Order at the counter - the line can get long but trust me, it's worth the wait. The employees manning the register were super friendly and suggested I try the Cheerwine slushy with whatever liquor I desired. YAS. The food took a minute but that boozy cheerwine slushy kept me company while we waited. And lo and behold, when that hot chicken came out, I was in absolute heaven. I could barely handle the Rocky's Hot so I'm going to stick with Hot next time. My favorite size was the corn pudding but the French fries and mac and cheese are always a solid option for sides. I can't wait to stop in next time I'm in Asheville for more hot chicken and boozy Cheerwine slushies!
google avatar

Yelp
Me & my husband's favorite place of all time!!! Good service also! For a chicken strip that large with to gristle is so impressive to us!!! So beyond yummy the honey mild with macaroni & fries or mac and cheese bites & don't forget zippies ranch!!! We love this place so much and takeout is so easy as well!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was great! We ate outside and really enjoyed the experience!

Yelp
If in north Carolina you gotta have hot chicken... Because well it's a staple. Went to rockys with the family and we were all impressed with the menu as well as the atmosphere. But I am mainly writing this review for the.... Collards!!! Their collards are the best collards I have had in a long time... If not ever. The perfect amount of vinegar, salt, sugar...and the texture was perfect. Now, don't get me wrong, the chicken was also very good...but the best thing on my plate, and the thing I will not forget was the collards... Get them, they are amazing!!!

Yelp
Went to Rocky's on a Sunday, caught them at perfect time because this place gets really busy, line was out the door by the time we had left. I ordered the Rocky's Royale minus the cheese so I could take in more heat. My wife got the Rocky's hot chicken dip was I also indulged in, creamy and tasty. I enjoyed my sandwich especially the bread, I opted for the hot heat, wish I went higher because it did not knock me back at all. Pickles complimented the sandwich well but I do wish it came with a slaw and a bigger piece of chicken, also had a zippy ranch flavor on it. Also really enjoyed the Mac and cheese, was not too cheesy and had a rich taste to it. Great location with in and outdoor seating as well as a parking lot of the busy street. There are other things on the menu I'd like to try, also notice they have specials, this place is definitely worth the try.

Yelp
We have been to Rocky's many times at this point on our trips to Asheville. We usually make at least one stop once we arrive and it has yet to disappoint us. We always start with fried pickle chips and zippy ranch (slightly spicy ranch) whenever we visit. These are so good every time too, fried to crispy perfection! I always get the 3 tenders plate and then mix up the spice level on the chicken and sides every time. This time I opted for Mild, which in my opinion is the best for flavor. With Mild you get just the slightest of heat, but mainly good seasoning which is perfect to just enjoy the meal and not torch your tongue lol. I have gone all the way up to Rocky's Hot before and can attest to the heat, so be warned that it can get quite hot. For the sides I got the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. The Mac was pretty good, but the potatoes and gravy could have used a tad more seasoning and flavor. All in all we will definitely be back on our next visit as Rocky's has become a staple on our Asheville trips!
google avatar

Vicki M.

Yelp
Hot chicken was on on list while we were in Asheville and we saw Rocky's so we had to stop in. Rocky's menu is quite extensive with salads, fried chicken, wings as well as sandwiches. We shared the three piece sandwich with medium & honey sauce. We got Mac and cheese and corn pudding for our sides both were very good. We enjoyed our meal. You order at the counter and your meal is delivered to your table. Service was quick. Rocky's is a small local business with locations in Nc and SC. It is nothing fancy, we sat in the inside patio area. Employees were friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Kayla W.

Yelp
Heard a lot of good things about this spot so I made sure to stop by on my last trip. It didn't disappoint! Service was fast & everything was delicious. We ordered a leg & thigh platter and a chicken sandwich Rocky's way. We tried the medium spice which was decently hot for the leg & thigh but the sandwich has cheese which makes it not as spicy. The mashed potatoes were also amazing which I wasn't expecting. I will have to come back to the more!

Kayla B.

Yelp
I just don't feel like the food lived up to the hype. Everything was room temperature. Taste was off. Service was decent, other than almost every employee there was high out of their minds. It definitely wasn't worth 65$.
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
The fried pickles.... If you love pickles the way I love pickles, GET THEM! The spicy ranch had such a great flavor too. It was pretty spicy, and I love spicy food. The Mac and cheese was just ok, same with the pimento cheese. The chicken was good and so were the fries. There's no actual servers but everyone was very friendly. They serve beer which my hubby was very happy about lol. I would go back if I'm ever in town again.

Amanda B.

Yelp
First time visiting Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, and this will now be added to the list of places we have to go every time we are in the Asheville area! Good food options, amazing chicken fried just right, and a fun but laid back atmosphere. Loved the option of one of the sides being a bowl of kosher dill pickle slices.... so good, as was the mac & cheese. Service was friendly and amazing from all the staff we encountered....from taking our order, delivering food to our table, taking our trash when we went to self clear, showing me where all the things were that I asked for and were actually really obvious :) , and patiently helping us pick out a souvenir t-shirt. Do yourself a favor, and just go already!
google avatar

Kimberly F.

Yelp
We weren't very hungry so we decided to get one thigh each and try the chicken dip. By the end of it we had absolutely devoured our chicken and left nothing but the bones. Pros: The flavor isn't just on the skin it's marinated into the chicken itself! Our food arrived not even 5 minutes after we sat down. The staff were very polite and quick! Cons: Limited parking (Even if the parking lot is full I would suggest waiting for a spot so you can try this delicious chicken!!! )
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself stuck on a long layover in Asheville, exit the airport and come try this place! It's located in a small little town but it's easy to get to on one winding road. The parking lot is a little bit tight but people are always coming and going. You order at the front and sit down. The food will be brought out to you! I ordered the 3-piece plain tenders with coleslaw and mac n cheese, and a side order of the fried green tomatoes. Although the chicken was "plain" they offer this really delicious honey mustard sauce (I recommend getting the large). The coleslaw was a bit too runny for me but the mac n cheese was hot and still cheesy. The fried green tomatoes was different. I've never had anything like it! It comes drizzled with a peach pepper translucent sauce and goat cheese. Great for an appetizer! The customer service here is phenomenal. From service to bussing tables. They brought me a container for my food and sauce, and gave me a to-go cup so I can take my delicious sweet tea home. Just to all realize that I could have gotten these things myself next to the trash can. I apologize to the staff numerous of times that I swear I'm not lazy, but she responded, "Honey, this is what we do here. We love our guests."

Yelp
This is always my go-to place when I visit Asheville. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Very laid back vibe. I typically visit with friends or family. They are always packed. The service is quick and the staff is always nice. I typically order the honey mild tenders with Mac and cheese and veggies with ranch. The tenders are always seasoned and crisp.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious! Standard spice levels: the medium level was not quite as spicy as Hattie B's, but the tenders were as scrumptious. Would definitely recommend if you are craving hot chicken in the area. It was on the salty side, but I still highly recommend. Collared greens were decent, mac & cheese was creamy & yummy, and biscuit was crumbly but cooked through. Our party of 5 arrived around 630-7pm on a Wed night, and there was a line of 4-5ish parties with a nearly full dining room. Outdoor seating area is heated, which is nice (though maybe a little extra on a June summer night). Ambience is busy/casual, ecclectic, road trip. Staff were helpful with our inexperience with ordering and responsive with our request for an extra plate. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area; comparable to Hattie B's!

Bamboo B.

Yelp
Great food! Love the locations and Asheville vibes. Best chicken tenders in town. The service is good and fast as well.

Yelp
Delicious, unique, casual, and eclectic spot for hot chicken in Asheville! Dropped in on Monday afternoon on our way traveling through, and it was busier than I expected and took a few extra minutes to order but the food came out super fast! The menu is pretty large and has something for everyone. I ordered the "sandwich of the day" which came with a side for about $12, added bacon (duh!) for $1. It was a chicken tender sandwich with zesty (zippy) ranch with lettuce, tomato, and red onion on brioche and it was HUGE! It was just as tasty as it was large and the chicken was well seasoned, tender, and juicy. You choose your heat for the chicken from plain to extreme. Im a wimp so went with mild honey. The flavors married perfectly, and I was pleasantly surprised. I also got the crinkle cut fries for my side. My friend ordered the blue cheese wedge salad and seemed to really enjoy it. It came with chicken salad on top. It's nice that they have lighter options! The atmosphere is cool and they have a nice outdoor area, covered and not covered options. Highly recommend this spot for your hot chicken fix!

Samantha M.

Yelp
Massive portions! The chicken pot pie is huge and super tasty. Chicken tenders were great quality but the Rockys hot seasoning is definitely not for anyone that can't handle spicy foods because the after kick gets you. Loved the collard greens and the Mac was solid too. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Lunch time and even though I've just left Nashville, I still want Hot Chicken. Rocky's fit the bill and it was fabulous. Three pieces - a breast, a leg and a full wing - with cole slaw and collar greens. After asking about how hot their spice levels are, I chose the "Medium" because I didn't want it to totally break my taste buds. It was the right choice as this was still pretty hot and I went through most of the blue cheese dip to help cool it off. The chicken was hot, flavorful and fresh. Cole slaw was nice and crisp, not too wet at all. Collars had some bacon in there and they were delicious and firm. This was a great meal and I enjoyed it very much. I would definitely return to Rocky's! [Review 18864 overall - 3355 in North Carolina - 2387 of 2022.]

Yelp
Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Rocky's (I think it's actually spelled wrong on here, but I'll keep it consistent) is in my Top 5 Asheville restaurants list. The people who work there have 100% of the time been fantastic. The food has 100% of the time been fantastic. Rocky's never misses. Any time a friend comes in from out of town, I always take them to Rocky's. It has become a staple of Asheville. If you are in town and only have time to visit one restaurant, this is it. For the money and for the value, there isn't anything better.

Yelp
Delicious fried chicken with all temperatures and sauces available. The chicken was super juicy and crispy. The sides were great and the salad was a perfect balance to a hearty meal! I will totally come back to the chicken shack when in Asheville. The servers were friendly and it's a quaint little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Casual atmosphere, service was a little slow but courteous. Food was good. But really, paper straws?? It took me three straws to drink my cheer wine.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was very hot, fresh and delicious. There are usually always a lot of customers but their service is still timely. There is a lot of seating in the restaurant and a good take out process in place.

Yelp
Delicious every time. Fast, friendly service and hot food every time. Everything on the menu is great. You can't go wrong. But my favorite is the chicken pot pie. If you want to eat inside, it's a cool, laid back vibe.
