First of all, gotta love the 'Rocky' theme, they even have boxing gloves on the awning. Trademark/copyright infringement, possibly, but I likey. Anyway, my area of Flatbush and even some of the surrounding neighborhoods seem to be in the 'sub-par pizza zone of Brooklyn'. I can't find as quality pizza as I can find in Williamsburg, Bensonhurst, or even Bay Ridge. But Rocky's Pizzeria is alright, nothing to rave about, but not bad.
I've never eaten in the place itself, I just order delivery. I do like that their menu has a lot of items, and they do have some ridiculously cheap specials listed on the back. I usually just order a large plain pie. I noticed they're a little hit or miss with their amount of sauce that they put on their pizza, so I started ordering my pies with extra sauce, and it works out fine. The pizza is average, but it always arrives piping hot and the guy that usually picks up my delivery call is really nice on the phone.
The pizzas are baked well, not too overdone, not too underdone, just right. The cheese is basic mozzerell, not top shelf stuff, but not government cheese. The sauce used on the pizza is a little bland, needs some garlic, salt, or oregano. I've also ordered a cheesesteak from them, but told them to add green peppers and mushrooms, their standard just comes with provolone, steak, and onions, I need those peppers baby! I pull mushrooms sometimes with my cheesesteak, depending on my mood.
I also ordered a Jamaican beef patty from them on one of my orders, and it's was regs, it's a beef patty, nothing extravegant.
All in all this place is average, but has been the best place in my area as far as pizzerias are concerned. I will still try to track down a legitimately good pizza place in my area, so if anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. Preferably a place that delivers. Thanks for reading my review everybody! :)
