We just discovered this cool spot and we were immediately impressed. The bartenders are super friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Filled with locals that all seem to know each other or the bartenders. They have daily food specials that are priced very nicely. We had the Wednesday Burger basket deal for $8.75 with fries. Very tasty and cooked up fresh with love! Check out the burger photos. Yum!!

We popped into our local bar for a yummy snack on the 4th and had a terrific time! We have been to this place once before for burger week and it was super yummy! Today I had their spicy Blazer burger with bacon 🥓. The burger was cooked to perfection and the spicy sauce with the jalapeño’s and pepper jack cheese did not disappoint! Had a cold Pilsner to wash it down with. My partner had their Coney Burger that was smothered in their house chili. It was super flavorful and hit the spot! For the holiday they had some great specials and the prices are very reasonable. Also the fries were nice and crispy and had the perfect bite to them. We had a terrific time and a great relaxed atmosphere. Each day of the week they have different specials too. We will definitely 💯 be back to our local neighborhood eatery.

One of the best neighborhood style bars I've ever been too. Incredibly friendly atmosphere. The great people who work here are always in high spirits, ready to make you great drinks and great food. Doesn't matter if it's a quite night or a busy night the bartenders will make sure you're set with what you need. The Friday specials are always out of this world, thank you Liza and Kai!

Came here on Sunday night for Binglow and had a blast! Clarice is one of the best bartenders I’ve run into, super nice and very welcoming! I unfortunately didn’t get the name of the person calling out the numbers during bingo but he also seemed very nice. It was my first time going here and definitely won’t be the last!

Place is great, the KJ is wonderful is karaoke is always a good time. I unfortunately have to write a bad review due to one of the bartenders. She has been cutting off things early lately, and just recently told me and one other person specifically that we weren't allowed to sing anymore. She then claimed that there was a 5 song limit, which really punishes the people that get here early since it doesn't tend to get busy until later. Until all this gets sorted, I can't in good faith leave a positive review.

I’ve been frequenting Rocky’s for a while and I can’t honestly say all of the bartenders are top notch. In a prior post I saw someone say Clarice the bartender was rude and if that’s the case then either you didn’t have ID, you got angry for her cutting you off or you were clearly a tweeker. This bar treats everyone like family and the prices are more than reasonable.

Not coming back on karaoke nights. There's 100 other places that treat their returning customers with respect. Rectify this and I'll change it to 5 stars.

God damn i have spent way too much money here but its too good of a time to give up! liza and clarice are fantastic barkeeps as long as you dont (allegedly) miss the toilet like a previous (alleged) reviewer, or attempt a fratboy coup. Kai in the kitchen is fantastic as well as the karaoke king jim. the fact they still tolerate me and my shenanigans speaks to how fantastic the community they have built at rocky's is.

Had a raucous time with the other locals at this spot for NYE! Puck held down the bar AND the kitchen fantastically considering the holiday. Jukebox is standard TT's but had some surprises on it when I was playing selections. Crowd was great and made some new Friends along the way. A+!

Came here for burger week. The burger was fine, creative and a little strange. Rough hood this place is in. I actually really liked the vibe inside... I'm not much of a bar guy (more pubs and taprooms) but this place felt clean and welcoming enough. The server was happy, nice, and took care of us. Not life altering but, good.

Very good taco's on Thursday. Friday slider are good too. Bartenders are great, fun place, just wish parking was better.

I love a good dive bar with fun staff that remember your drinks and serve you up before you've even sat down! After a long week at work it's nice to have such awesome service. My favorite food there is The Blazer burger, drip down your arm juicy and just simply delicious. I just had the Prime Rib Special with a side salad and was so impressed! The meat was cooked just right and it was served with a baked potato, toast and I love that they also serve it with a side of horseradish cream and au jus.

Look, I know it's a dive bar and I'm not asking for a lot here. But when you're only item on the menu is one burger and you refuse to remove the bbq sauce to accommodate an actual tomato allergy it's pretty pathetic. We went as far as saying "can we just have a patty and a bun, but the answer was "our food is all pre built and not made to order." Gross and unacceptable.

This is a dive bar type establishment (i wouldnt say 100%). I have always had good and friendly service. It's definitely a local spot but I've only been there a couple times and maybe the bartenders will chat it up with their regulars but that's such a standard business practice. Leaving this review because all the reviews that are so negative are just ridiculous. ITS A DIVE BAR. It's not going to be the "nicest" or "kiss your a**" type of place but that doesn't make it bad ? ... What is up with these reviews calling on this place to close? There's a place for everyone and if you're into the lowkey, 'mind your business' type place, this is the spot for you. Havent had the food yet but im coming back to try because its always looked good. Of course, keep in mind you're at a bar... So it will most likely be bar food.

We've been wanting to stop in here for a while because we see it all the time when we're across the street getting groceries. So finally went ahead and made the very short trip here. It's a lot bigger than expected. There's actually quite a lot of seating both indoors and out. The bartenders were super friendly. We came in during burger week so we went ahead and got that and they had the add on of tots, so of course I did. Nice little video lotto room and the bathrooms seemed fine to us. Got a couple draft beers and just hung out for a bit. We've been wanting to find a place that was decent and at least somewhat walkable (or cheap to Lyft/Uber) so we'll for sure be back.

Had stopped here once or twice for a beer--on one of my walking routes, not far from home--but today stopped for lunch. Specifically for burger week, and good to have a place involved in this close to home. A Korean style burger, with kim chi. pineapple slaw, bacon--sweet, tangy and a little messy, but the bun held odd. Crispy thin french fries at a good price. Very good service. Neighborhood bar with a lottery room, couple other machines in another corner. Slim beer selection. The world's smallest, thinnest napkins.

I drove all the way down there to cash in a video lottery ticket that i thought i had lost. The website states they close at 1230, it was 1220 when i arrived. There was a guy sitting at tbe bar and a gorl standing to the side of the bar, kissing with the door locked. He says "were closed." I said "i thought you closed at 1230, to which he replied " we close at 11pm for the last 2 years, however the POSTED hours say 1130 on Sundays, it was Tuesday. So I said, "well, your website says 1230, so i came to cash a ticket real quick, before that time." And this jack*** replies with "OK, great see you tomorrow." Then starts kissing the girl again. I am utterly disgusted with this establishments "customer service" as well as the employees conduct. Will NEVER revisit this place again. #WORSTBAREVER

Great place!!! The food is really good!! Prices are on point! Clean, great service, and really good daily food specials!! Strong drinks!! Every Sunday... BINGO!! Free to play and great prizes... And, a lively atmosphere!

This is my new favorite neighborhood dive bar. Clean, spacious, great outdoor seating, lots of stuff on tap, and a few slot machines. Even the bathrooms were very clean. Service was very friendly, the friendliest I think I've ever encountered at a bar. Their food menu is a step up from places like the Hidden East and even have a vegetarian burger and salads. Tots are super tasty, especially with the side sauces they offer. Each workday they have a special, like 2/$5 pork tacos on Thursdays and $12.50 prime rib on Fridays. Prices are reasonable, and if you're lucky you'll lose a bunch of money on the slots just like I did (whoops haha). Make sure to play some good music on the TouchTunes jukebox because apparently the staff isn't allowed to play anything non-mainstream or top 40. We made sure to play a lot of metal and EDM. Come here for good drinks, good food, slot machines that steal your money, and people watching.

Great night. The bartender Michael was on the spot. Friendly, fast, good options. Nice environment for a dive bar. Newer, large HD Tv's had the NFL playoff game on. Will go back for sure. Didn't eat much, but we did have some fries- Which would be the only negative there. The fries had some bad seasoning on them. Clean/ fun/ great service

The bartender on Sundays, whose name is Puck, had decided instead of learning from someone who has been bartending since before he was born, or just smiling and bearing something he may have had a difference of opinion with the customer chose not only to argue and say how wrong they were about a generic bartending practice he was so catty he didn't bother putting their food order in. The owner tried to make up for it by giving a little extra, but damage done. Too bad he doesn't recognize his best tippers are other servers. You don't choose to argue and tell them straight up they are wrong, just smile for your tip, be nice instead of choosing losing the 50-100% tip, just to get less than 20%. Customer is always right! Damn Gen Z learn the value of customer service Petty comes back in karma Other than that, bingo good. People mostly nice if not condescending. If I go back it's only for the bingo with nice ladies I met.

My husband and I came here yesterday after we went shopping at Grocery Outlet which is right across the street. We arrived to a fairly busy bar which patrons inside and outside. We ordered a few drinks at the bar before we headed outside to the patio area. I went to the bathroom which requires a key (not sure why) it seems pretty gross especially with these times to require people to carry a dirty key back and forth from the bathroom. Also the bathroom was pretty dirty and smelly. This was my only complaint the rest of our experience was rather nice. We enjoyed the patio, sitting at out own table in the shade. There is also a TV that you can see from the patio the is in the window of the bar. Super great if you wanna watch games but don't wanna eat inside right now. They had some decent offerings on tap and a lot of people seemed ti be getting food. We were not hungry so I have nothing to report on the food front. The service was good and the bartender was friendly.

My drunk, deadbeat boyfriend couldn't come with me tonight because he's heavily invested in his BBQ nowadays, so barely ever even makes it out anymore but if you want a good time at a local bar where there are overly-stiff drinks and super chubby barmaids - then focus your radar on Rocky's! You just have to try the coney island sauce, it will bring back childhood memories of potty-time for a week and will also make you pray to your mommy for life - and who doesn't like to reconnect with their mother's? But the fun doesn't stop there, this haven also offers video lottery, so go ahead, take a machine for a whirl - they are harbored in the southwestern corner of the building, which gives you a nice sense of security as you plunge 20 after 20 into the one-armed rascal - all the while being shoulder to shoulder with a speed-induced patron...if that is a deep enough dive for you - then, go ahead, and take a step back, this place also offers a nice relaxing patio seating option - in the parking lot adjacent 72nd avenue - where the notion and fumes of down under truly come alive...the patio offers a first-hand experience of TV drama on the big screen - v. the real life drama happening at the neighborhood level...trust me when I say, there's no disappointment if you stick around for the fireworks at last call!!

Sat at a table for ten minutes before I had to move to the bar in order to get knowledge. Saw two people get their drinks before me when they walked in 5 minutes after I did. I asked the bartender if I could order a drink. She said yes. I asked why did they get drinks before I did when they came in me and she refused to service me and told me to leave. I gladly left and came to Kellie and got service. If I haven't been a server for 15 years I wouldn't know better.

This is a comfortable neighborhood bar. The bartender Rachel is a excellent bartender always looking out for her customers best interest. They have six video poker machines available. A video tunes jupe box. The outdoor smoking area is especially nice. I only gave it four stars because I didn't try the food.

Ended up at Rocky's for Portland Burger week. The place was packed with a line out the door but the service was AMAZING! For being so busy, the staff was pumping orders out so fast and amazingly not to the detriment of the burger! Drinks were reasonably priced and our waitress was a lovely gal. The place felt a little out of the way but if you're in the neighborhood, it's probably a great place to just chill and have some drinks.

A year ago my husband and I purchased a fixer (5 year project) and moved to the Woodstock neighborhood, periodically we drove past Rockies and said to eachother, "We should stop in there for a beer one of these days," well today was the day. As I walked into Rockies, the Bartender Immediately said "I need to see your ID." I told Her I was well above 21 yrs old (48 yrs old) she readily agreed that my "Age" wasnt the issue, she stated, "If anything happens why you are here I need to know who you are." (I was running errands and had paper work from work I planned on going over-while sipping a cold beer, but neglected to grab my ID) So, here I was, Apparently a "Suspicious" Character in this dive bar that I thought would be a nice neighborhood hangout, and couldn't figure out why this Bartender viewed me as potential trouble, I was embarressed and said "No worries, have a nice day" and left. Turns out Rockies will not be my husbands' and my neighborhood hangout, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Very well priced drinks, and they aren't weak either ;-) Daily food and drink specials that are cheap. Rachelle, Liza and Nicholas are my favorite bartenders! Bingo on Sundays is fun, who doesn't like to win free food. Always feel at home when I come here

Not going back. We went for our third time. It was completely dead on a Friday night. Slow bartender, even when it's dead. They have no one in the back cooking food and hardly a selection of food. When I asked for something, the bartender kept saying "we're out." They had not juice for their cocktails and not a good selection of booze or mixes at all! The bartender was not friendly and seemed bored with his job. Feel like we got overcharged as well. I had hope! I really did!

This is my favorite spot, because Liza is a truly amazing bartender and host! I only come when she's working because she's hysterical and she makes every night a party. Love this place!

Came here for Portland Burger week because Suny's Diner sold out of their burgers. Compared to foster burger and triple nickel, this place was the BOMB! It exceeded expectations and was one of the best burgers I ever had. My girlfriend loved the taste, but she didn't like that it was messy to eat. It's a burger though, what do you expect? Anyways, great service and great food for good prices!

Finally a spin off of Nick's Coney Island, without the parking hassles of Hawthorne! Everything you could hope for at Nick's and in our neighborhood too!

Stumbled on this place while visiting Portland. We went to go watch a soccer game. The TVs were great for watching games. Rachel was our server, she was very nice, she seemed to be working alone and extremely busy but was always very nice whenever I asked for something. She took interest in the game, asked where we were from. Food was good. It just felt like a cool, distinctly Portland bar. Wish I lived closer.

Great little corner bar. Bartenders that actually care about there customers, good selection of video lottery, amazing happy hour and good stiff drinks. Food is awesome, crowd isn't too large and the regulars are pretty nice! Plus! Darts, nice TVs & a covered patio for smokers (or not). Not much more you could ask for in a bar. :)

Nice neighborhood bar and I can't believe I haven't come in here since it's just around the corner. Prices are good but it is a small place but it's still a good place to watch some sports on the TV or have a beer.

Friendly, attentive service; delicious Coney Island dogs; reasonable Happy Hour prices. Per our server, expansion plans include covered patio with outdoor seating in warmer weather and live music. Can't wait!

This was a nice surprise. We finally decided to stop by and try the place and loved it. The place is owned by the same guy that owns Nick's Coney Island on Hawthorne Street, so the food tastes just as great. The staff is super friendly also. I will definetly return many more times.

I would not recommend this place!! For one their drinks are weak and the specials are in house only I guess, if they have enough ingredients to make it. Plus they only make five pounds of taco meat for their taco night and brag about how good it is. It's bland as fuck! Very dissapointed. I heard alot of good things about this place, but it not true.

Wonderful people and chill atmosphere. Bingo on Sundays at 330pm. Your almost guarantied to win something! My last win was cinnamon rolls and stuff to make coney dogs at home. They gave us the buns dogs and sauce :)

Great bartender, very attentive. He was very friendly and always made sure we were content. The jukebox was pretty good, very random just like the clientele!

A very nice find while in the Portland area. We were looking for a place to hang out. Have some drinks and food and unwind. Rocky's is great all around. Awesome food and drinks, great feel to the whole place. The only reason for a 4 Star and not 5 is this. Though the place was steady busy. The bartender wasn't on his game to keep the drinks going. Now we weren't there to party and get tanked. But when the bartender is always scanning and walking by looking at everyones drink, but doesn't realize that they are all empty for quit awhile. Like 30-40 min empty. It just makes the experience less desirable. Then when we took our new drinks to the video poker game area. "Yes we were winning" the same bartender was taken back and acted like we were interrupting his chat seasons with someone to cash in our winnings and order another set of drinks. Any who, please don't judge the entire place for what one may or may not have been doing. The rest of the staff and owner was spot on. Just or take on things. Enjoy.

When this bar first opened in this neighborhood it was really fun with great service. The male bartenders were great. Those bartenders are gone. The last few times a blond female bartender has been working if you can call it that. She spends so much time pulling customers into her own agenda conversations she ignores other customers. We've gone in when there are only a few customers and if she is in conversation she ignores the new customers until she is good and ready. Not that we expect someone to hop to attention when we walk in but this attitude is poor service. She needs to talk less and serve more. Is'nt that what she is paid to do? Outside of that it is a great little neighborhood bar but it only needs one bad apple to spoil the barrel.

ok so me and wife decided to try this bar out we read the reviews so we fingered we had 50 50 chance well it ended up being a 5% so lets start out we both order a bloody Mary tell the bar tender well vodka were looking over the menu and I notice that the bar tender grabs absolute. as the bartender makes are drink they don't have unuf mix so adds paps in stead of saying i only have unuf to make one drink have to make more mix also told bartender to make it spicy. yea so fail ask the bartender what she poured she said absolute and I told her there's a big diff in well and absolute. service sucks and I like dive bars won't be coming back would rather pay a taxi or take a bus then go here ever agen hope this bar dies or management changes didn't waste are time on food with this type of service kind of nervous to order food.

Decent for a divey, neighborhoody, kind of sports bar - if that is what you are after. Staff was friendly. I would come here all the time if they had ANY kind of vegetarian options. (even frozen things, defrosted for the occasional vegetarian customer! Frozen veggie burgers and hot dogs would be fine!) Please please get the veggie food. Plain old french fries are not enough.
