A Tasting Tour of Oregon's Best Sparkling Wines

"Cofounded by Rollin Soles, an early champion of age-worthy Oregon sparkling, this producer is noted for bottles with an amber hue and an 'eau-de-bakery' yeasty aroma reminiscent of true champagne-method wines. Visitors can sample a sparkling flight that showcases multiple vintage years, each disgorged specially for guests—an uncommon chance to taste wines in their first post-disgorgement moments." - Hank Zona

Oregon Sparkling Wines to Send 2020 Off | Eater Portland

"Produced by Rollin Michael Soles at ROCO, RMS Brut (2015) and ROCO Brut Rose are made in the traditional champenoise style with precision and clarity reminiscent of the old French Champagne houses; they remain refreshing with high acidity tempered by a vanilla creaminess, are worth every sip, won't break the bank, and offer a precise, focused expression of Oregon bubbles." - Alex Frane

We (2) came in, walk in w/no reservations on a busy & beautiful Saturday afternoon in the Willamette Valley. We were warmly greeted and offered seats at their wine bar. We tasted their Pinot Noirs, and a flight of Italian whites-wonderful. Generous tastes with truffle popcorn! Kerry, our wine server was busy, but so pleasant and gracious. We bought some bottles, walked through the gardens. Kerry was very flexible on the trying different flights. Would certainly return & highly recommend! Wonderful garden and hospitality staff-thank you!

Google
We love the wines and tasting here. We've always had very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We discovered them at a restaurant at the coast (sadly gone due to covid) that served their gravel road, their "bottom end" which is excellent. It's the only wine club we've kept over the years. Some of their wines get pricey but we have found them to be worth it! Highly recommend.

Visited ROCO Winery after an unwelcoming interaction with another winery near by. Friendly and welcoming staff, that went out of their way to give us recommendations for sweet wines around the area. Beautiful property and building, great conversation and a tasty rose wine!

Google
A beautiful place with great attention to detail. Wonderful tasting experience and fabulous charcuterie boards. We were given the opportunity to try Roco due to a April vineyard sharing card.

Google
Have always wanted to go wine tasting for the scenic locations and the experience but as someone who doesn’t care for wine (the exception to that is sparkling wines) it never made sense until I discovered that there are sparkling wine specific tastings. After doing some research and seeing how highly rated ROCO’s sparkling wines are i decided to book our sparkling flight tasting with ROCO and they did not disappoint! Wife and I were able to sneak away and have a lovely date sipping on wonderful sparkling wines, delicious charcuterie and enjoying the beautiful grounds that are ROCO. We can’t wait to come back again

Google
We loved this peaceful tasting room. The wines are delicious and Tessa was so knowledgeable and kind. We felt spoiled with attention and were excited to take home some yummy bottles of a lush Pinot noir. Definitely recommended whether you’re just passing through as we were, or if you’re lucky enough to have this gorgeous setting in your own backyard!

My mother and I started our Wilamette Valley trip with the ROCO Winery. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the patio and in the yard. The weather was beautiful, the wine was wonderful, and our hostess was very knowledgable. She did a wonderful job of sharing ROCO's story wile also giving us pointers on the valley itself. A perfect was to start off our week!

Yelp
Beautiful winery . Small and intimate . Fantastic sparkling wines as well as Pinots. Definitely put it on your bucket list for willamette valley wines

Yelp
Outdoor seating was great, with nice enough views. Service was fine, but they forgot one of our tastings. Charcuterie was fine. I didn't love any of the wines on the tasting menu.

Yelp
Definitely worth the stop, the wine was fantastic, especially the bubbly rose; service was prompt and pleasant and the setting around the fountain was super nice with very intriguing plants.

Yelp
A charming winery making some high-quality wines. We stopped in on a Tuesday based on recommendations from a sommelier friend and local wine folks and enjoyed a tasting and had the winery all by ourselves which was nice. Our host introduced us to their wines and we did a prestige tasting ($25) that we shared. The newly released rose was delicious as were the pinots. Definitely worth a stop

Yelp
If you need a winery to go to Roco is the place to go! Danielle was our pourer and she was very nice and professional. The place is very peaceful and beautiful. The wine is delicious especially if you like Chardonnay. We went for my friends birthday and they opened a special bottle for the occasion. I bought 3 bottles myself. The day I went the register was having issues and they accidentally gave me the wrong wines. I called them and they were very nice! They sent me what I actually purchased the next business day. I will definitely be going back. Thank you Roco!

Yelp
We have been members here for several years. Their sparkling wine is amazing!! We popped into the tasting room today and were greeted with friendly faces as always, even in the midst of COVID-19 masks! Highly recommend their wines (especially the sparkling) and can't say enough about the wine maker and his staff!

Yelp
Excellent wines and excellent customer service. Very much enjoyed everything I sampled. The sparkling was a highlight of the trip to the WV. My friend joined their club. Looking forward to sampling more. In addition they had gorgeous glasswork for sale.

Yelp
Not dog friendly!!!!! Went there with our little well behaved Shorkie. Noone was there & she told us we would have to leave dog in car while it was 85 degrees outside! Pets are not even allowed in outdoor patio. We left & went to the many friendlier wineries nearby!

Yelp
Such a great experience. The lineup of Pinot was delicious and they make the BEST sparkling wine in the valley. Cozy tasting room and friendly staff

Yelp
Horrible Customer Service Sunday June 4th. The woman working was not helpful at all. If she was a part timer/weekend help, the owners should think twice about not getting quality help all the time.

Christopher K.

Yelp
The pinots at Roco were fantastic. We also really enjoyed their sparkling wine. This place is a gem. Beautiful setting and the service was great. We did our tasting on the patio. There was a pond with a waterfall and it was super relaxing. Could have spent hours sitting out there.

Heather G.

Yelp
Pretty location that's easy to get to from both Newberg and McMinnville... going there will actually take you around all the Dundee traffic!! Staff is always welcoming and knowledgeable. Wines are spectacular! Best sparkling wine in the valley, hands down. One of the few places that has a killer pinot at a price point low enough you won't feel guilty opening it on a week day. A wide selection of higher price point pinots that are show stoppers. Might become a regular stop on my weekend drives.

Yelp
Cherie was amazing. Very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgable. If you prefer reds, this is a must. Their tasting flight ($15) is 5 reds, all very good.

Kel F.

Yelp
Award winning wines! Friendly staff who are invested in customers and their product. Corby and Rollin are wonderful people and their wine knowledge is extensive. We regularly stop and always enjoy the club member events. The Stalker is one of our favorites, and totally unique. Also, we're very excited about the sparkling wines on the way!

Yelp
The best pinot noir. The wine maker is Rollin Soles. He and his wife Corby own and operate this wonderful boutique winery. The tasting room is brand new, warm and friendly. Best stop in Newberg. Take 240 out of Newberg and a left Red Hills road.

Yelp
Worst winery experience ever. Staff is unbelievably rude. I have been to many wineries and I have never been treated so poorly. If you enjoy being scoffed at, having your pronunciation of local attractions corrected, and having someone roll your eyes or give a sarcastic comment in response to your questions, then this is the place for you. Wine was only okay. Go somewhere else!
