"There’s nearly always a crowd hanging out inside Rod Thai’s tiny dining room because insiders know that this is one of the best Thai restaurants in the city. From the tart som tum to the creamy massaman curry in coconut milk, it’s hard to go wrong here." - Celina Colby

"The longtime Rod Dee chain disintegrated in recent years, with two locations (Cambridge’s Porter Square and Brookline’s Washington Square) reportedly closing for good and the other two locations slightly rebranded. The Fenway location is now Rod Thai Family Taste, and it’s focusing on street foods — a mix of classic dishes and “surprising” family recipes. Go with whatever specials are on offer for the day. Take a similar approach at the other rebranded Rod Dee, Rod D By Sitti in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner." - Valerie Li Stack, Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"The kao moo dang (crispy pork, roasted pork, and pork sausage with egg and Thai barbecue sauce over rice) is a good place to start. The mango crispy duck is also compulsory. The crispy squid and the spicy eggplant, too. We’ve ordered from Rod Thai Family Taste a few times since the pandemic began, and it’s been “10/10, would try again” every damn time. It’s quickly becoming one of our favorite Thai spots in the city (along with S&I Thai to Go, Thai Place, Pad Thai Cafe, and Dakzen). —TBD  Currently offering takeout and delivery. Delicious Thai Food in Town. The price is affordable, the service is fast (only need approximately 10 minutes from the payment until the food is served on your table), and the workers are friendly. The resto is clean, including the restroom. Plenty tables to sit inside and outside the resto, so u don't need to queue for dining in. I ordered large crispy chicken with sweet chili sauce, large shrimp tom yum, and rice for $41.89. The portion was so big, so my friend and I needed to take some home. In my opinion, the large portion was for 3 people.

Delicious Thai food in the area. Popular among students. Ordered duck fried rice, pork belly with vegetables over rice and seafood fried wide noodles. Got outdoor seatings.

Rod Thai Family Taste offers a large menu with plenty of tasty vegan options. Of note, many of the vegetarian items can be made vegan upon request. We especially enjoyed the cashew nut stir fry (pictured) and the red curry. Order at the counter and food is brought to your table. Service is fast and staff is friendly. The indoor eating area boasts large windows with nice natural light and a laid back and cozy atmosphere. There are a number of picnic tables outside for outdoor dining. The street is reasonably quiet, so we prefer outside when the weather is nice - great casual summer evening dining option.

Google
I’ve literally only gotten the Tom Yum Pad Thai because it’s so addictive and delicious. I’ve gotten it with crispy tofu instead of crispy chicken, delicious! My favorite is getting it with steamed vegetables instead of the crispy chicken. The chicken is outrageously good, my body is just weak when it comes to fried foods, so I muse pace myself….. anyways highly recommend! Staff is v friendly too

Google
The best Indonesian Fried Rice! All my friends I've introduced this to have been hooked since their first bite. I've had the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and Basil Fried Rice and they were all made well. The staff are super friendly and accommodating.

I ordered pad pak chicken and thai ice tea. The service was quick, and the portion they serve is big.

Google
Casual Thai restaurant. The service is quick but the food is tasty. It will satisfy your thai food craving and it’ll fill up your stomach. For dine in: the tables are self serve so you sit wherever and order at the counter. It can fill up during busy times so keep that in mind if you’re planning to eat in person.

Google
One of my all time favorite Thai spots in Massachusetts. This was my absolute favorite in college and I still love coming in for a quick bite to eat knowing my cravings will be satisfied. I got their crab rangoon and drunken noodles. The crab rangoon are always perfectly deep fried with a super crunchy exterior and creamy crab interior filling. The sweet and slightly sour sauce paired perfectly with every bite. So easy to have a platter of these! Their drunken noodles hit the spot EVERY time. A perfect flavor combo of salty, spicy and sweet. Salty from the soy sauce. Spicy from the chili oil. And sweet from the delicious juices from the veggies stir fried in. The rice noodles had such a perfect bite (think of the ultimate Al dente pasta) and the wideners/thickness of the noodles is a game changer! The more surface area the more flavor and sauce it was able to absorb and hold for every delicious bite! Yummmm! Rod Dee hits the spot every time, highly recommend if you haven’t been! I already know I’ll be back very soon.

Yelp
Unassuming establishment with high quality, affordable Thai food! In a time when many Peterborough street establishments are experiencing turnover after decades-long residences there, Rod Thai is not going anywhere! I've ordered take out at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. With a menu of over 50 items, it offers such a great variety of Thai comfort food at an incredibly affordable price ($12-15/person) with generous portions. Service is quick and friendly, with limited indoor (10-12 ppl total) and outdoor (20-25 ppl total) seating. It offers an incredibly clean but casual ambiance, with minimal background music to afford easy conversation. My favorites are the crispy chicken fried rice, basil fried rice with tofu, and mango sticky rice, but you really can't go wrong. Be sure to offer a level of spice to your liking, and they offer chili on the side. Parking can be tough in Fenway (watch out for the ticket police), but with the development in the neighborhood, new parking spaces are up and coming. There's another establishment with a similar name around Boston (run by this owner's brother), so they'll be sure to clarify address if ordering takeout.

Yelp
Rod Thai Family Taste is a solid choice if you're looking for Thai food in the Fenway area! I honestly ordered delivery by accident one day thinking it was Rod D in Brookline & honestly couldn't tell. Not sure if the two restaurants are related but I ordered my usual basil fried rice + roti with condensed milk & was very satisfied with the meal. They're located on a strip with a few other restaurants on Peterborough St. Parking can be tricky but you may luck out with finding parking right outside.

Yelp
I came here with my friends on a Friday night for dinner. It was pretty busy and there are only a handful of tables inside, but we managed to snag one of them. I ordered the kao nar ped, which was duck served with a soft-boiled egg, jasmine rice, and greens. It was very flavorful. We also tried the chicken satay, which was also good. The service was great; despite being very busy, the staff were friendly and patient. "Family taste" is a great way to describe this restaurant; the mismatched plates, delicious food, and friendly service made me feel relaxed and right at home.

Yelp
While small and unassuming, Rod Thai Family Taste offers some of the most authentic Thai dishes I've ever had in Fenway. Located next to a wide array of shops, Rod Thai has a small indoor seating area, as well as outdoor seating arrangements. The staff were welcoming and the food I ordered came out quick. This place has a pretty big menu, and the prices are surprisingly cheap and well portioned! I ordered the Pad See You with Chicken and asked for it to be spicy. They packed on heat and the noodles were bouncy and flavorful. The dish was simply, with only eggs and one veggie but insanely flavorful. I'm excited to try more of the menu next time I'm around!

Yelp
We went to try the new shanghai fried dumpling place next door and knew it would take some time to finish...so we went next door to this thai place to wait. We each ordered a plate and was able to dine-in and consume it in about 25 minutes total..bravo! Something the dumpling place can learn from. Food: Excellent quality, presentation and more importantly...tastes superb! I expected no less since this was a former Rod Dee location (and it looks pretty much the same except the name). Portion size is what is expected. Priced right. Service: Friendly guy up front, took our order quickly. They brought out the food to our table very fast. The place had decent decor and was well air conditioned (again, unlike the dumpling place next door) despite it being 95 degrees outside. I would definitely come here more often if they had easier parking. I think its easier to find parking at the real Rod Dee place up the street, to get the same food.

Taylor D.

Yelp
I got the tom yum pad thai and fried shrimp shumai. The service was extremely quick and the food was delicious. I loved the crispy coating on the chicken and the noodles had just the right amount of spice. Such a cute place, I will definitely be coming back!!

Abigail M.

Yelp
Rod Thai is perfectly nestled between other delicious restaurants on Peterborough, and is a great stop close to my college campus. The employees are consistently very polite and friendly, getting food out in a timely manner - even if the restaurant is full. This is so appreciated! The two times I've been here, I've gotten noodle dishes. They're always packed to the brim - and I order the small sizes! Always very flavorful and chock full of veggies and whatever protein I choose. Rod Thai is a little small, but there's ample seating if you're here with 1-5 people. There's some outside tables for larger groups, but it's a little cold for that just yet. A great stop in Fenway for a wide variety of Thai food for every taste bud. I'll be back!

Yerina K.

Yelp
Rod thai is a good price especially for what they give! The food is reliable and if you like spicy food, if you ask for more spice they will definitely give you spicy. It's a small place with a couple of tables inside and out but a good place to grab takeout. The papaya salad was kind of a miss as it had a stench to it that usually isn't in the papaya salad dishes I have tried. The service was good as they were very friendly! Would come here again.

Monica M.

Yelp
ordered pad pak chicken and thai ice tea. The service was quick, and the portion they serve is big.

Theresa H.

Yelp
Tom yum was excellent and the pineapple fried rice. Service is good and cute little place for ambiance.

Rick C.

Yelp
This place has some of the best Thai food in the Fenway neighborhood. They have a good broad menu, and they are open to small tweaks if desired. The food comes out hot and quick, so is great for takeout.

Gloria M.

Yelp
AMAZING. Ordered takeout from a small Thai place and the food was better than I was expecting given the size of the location. The person that gave me my food was kind and there were a few tables inside. The food was absolutely amazing. Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. It was spicy, sweet and cooked perfectly. You need to check this place out!!!

Angelina Z.

Yelp
I think this spot is one of the most underrated Boston restaurants. I got the pad kra pao which was phenomenal. The pork was super crispy and peppers added a nice touch of sweetness. If you don't have the best spice tolerance like me, you should ask to modify the spice levels for this dish.

Steph W.

Yelp
I I'm consistently impressed with the dishes put out, I just wish their spice levels were more consistent. With the new system you can choose 1-10 for levels of heat. I ordered pad see ew with a 5 thinking that would be manageable. I have a rather high tolerance for heat, we grow our hot peppers and make hot sauce (reapers, habaneros, ghosts, etc.) but this made my face melt. I tried again this time ordering in person. I said "a little spicy" and I saw her enter 3. Perfect. Nope. This melted my face off, arguably worse than the 5. It's deceptive. It really sneaks up on you. You're better off ordering it normal and asking for their chili sauce cups on the side. I do really love this place though, everything is great. You really won't be let down. Just be warned. Or challenge yourself, who am I to judge.

Sonya F.

Yelp
We come here sooo often!! Great portion size, saucy and tasty meals, and quick service make this spot a must try if you're in Fenway (or Brookline). I usually get their curry, pad Thai, papaya salad, or duck fried rice, but I'd say any dish would be a great choice. The restaurant itself is quite small, but this honestly makes it feel more like I'm getting a home cooked meal. I highly recommend you stop by here for a quick, fulfilling meal.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Drunken noodles were great! Nice mix of vegetables, fresh noodles, and chicken. Great balanced sauce with just a little bit of spice (I downgraded to mild). Would've loved a little rice on the side but otherwise great meal.

Michelle L.

Yelp
Found my new favorite Thai place! I came here on accident with my boyfriend, we were starving and stumbled in on this restaurant. He ordered crispy chicken on egg fried rice and I ordered honey sesame crispy chicken. These were both very delicious. Simple and very comforting. The crispy chicken was different on both plates, his was a very tender breaded chicken, and mine was a fried tempura-like chicken in honey sauce. They were both delicious. I noticed that there was a good chicken to breading ratio, unlike other places that are all breading and no chicken. Everything tasted fresh and was accompanied with rice. Their sauce for spring roles and the crispy chicken with egg rice was amazing, I want to eat it with everything. The atmosphere here was more geared towards take out, so it's not ideal for the restaurant experience. We will be back!

Erin O.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in the Fenway area to order takeout from, and they absolutely kill it every time. Not only is the food fresh and delicious, but it's served quickly and with accuracy. My favorite order is their Massaman curry and pad thai with crispy chicken. The curry is sweet and savory, with the perfect amount of meat and veggies. With a side of rice it cannot be beat! I also love their pad thai, but it's completely elevated with their crispy chicken on top. The chicken has the perfect crispy crunch, and paired with the sweetness of the pad thai, it's next level.

Claire M.

Yelp
Their Crispy Chicken is amazing! It is actually crispy and the breading on the chicken is really tasty. We got it on the Indonesian Fried rice, which was also really good. And their Chili Sauce really just tied together everything. It has a vinegar taste, which I personally enjoyed. The Peking Ravioli Steamed was also good, but I wouldn't go out of your way to get it. A friend of mine said it is better to get them fried instead of steamed. This place is a Mom and Pop location, so I highly recommend checking them out!

Joyce K.

Yelp
Rod Thai is a classic, causal, go-to spot for yummy Thai food. You order at the counter and can eat indoors, outside on their wooden picnic tables, or take out. They have plenty of options and prices are quite affordable for lunch or dinner, with large portions and fast service too. My favorite dish is the chicken pad see ew, which is probably the most perfect pad see ew I've ever had in terms of texture, flavor, and proportions of chicken and noodles. My one critique of this otherwise perfect establishment is that they could clean the indoor tables a bit better between customers - the most recent time I went, the table had some sauce and water smears, and there was also a super annoying fly that kept buzzing around while I tried to eat. Overall, a solid place to get your Thai fix when you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This was a great Thai spot in Boston. It's small and casual, and the food comes pretty quickly. It's also a great price, I got the pad see ew with chicken for only $12.95. The portions were a great size as well. The food tasted great, could've had a bit more spice though.

Kagome S.

Yelp
Even though the restaurant is very small but don't judge it by its look. Believe me if you tried any of their dishes, you won't be disappointed. The food is very authentic almost the same as you are eating in Thailand. Today I ordered Somtum Plara which is very delicious. I felt like I have it at some local places in Thailand. The service is awesome. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely come back again the next time I visit Boston.

Ellen C.

Yelp
So I'm not 100% sure if this is the same owners as the Rod D I used to go to during my college days. It was always a must do whenever in Boston. Their fried rice with basil with beef is a must and now that I have kids, they love it too. I always buy about 6 orders to bring back to NYC. This location is very small. Totally no frills. There are a few benches you can sit on outside. In teenager lingo "the fried rice is bussin'".

Victoria T.

Yelp
The only item I ordered was the mango sticky rice. The coconut milk/ cream was on the side, and the moment I put it over the mango and rice I noticed the bad odor it had. There was no chunks or visible issue in texture, but the taste was horrible. For just the mango sticky rice I paid around 11 dollars total, for this price I was expecting something much better. It was my first time coming in and I don't think I'll return.

Brooke Z.

Yelp
8/15/23 -crispy chicken fried rice: this dish comes with egg fried rice underneath a generous portion of crispy chicken, a few pieces of cut cucumber, and a sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side. the crispy chicken had a good ratio of chicken to fried exterior. the fried rice could've been a bit more flavorful, but it was simple and could be appreciated for what it is. i kind of wished that there were some veggies in it, but if you're just looking for egg fried rice then it'll satisfy your craving. for $13-14, i think that the portion is definitely enough to split into two meals. i could see myself potentially ordering this again since it's a lot of food for one order. (4/5)

Quyen T.

Yelp
One of my favorite go-to Thai restaurant whenever I'm visiting Boston. I can always count on their fresh quality, amazing flavors and great prices. Service is pretty quick considering how busy they are. The location is small with some seatings inside and outside so it can be a hit or miss based when you're visiting. I would highly recommend this place for delicious Thai food!

Karen I.

Yelp
We were walking around the area to pick up dinner and came across this Thai place that looked pretty busy on a Sunday night. I love Thai food so I had to try! they have some sitting indoors and some sitting outdoors as well. I got takeout since we are in the area. We got the ka prow - SO GOOD and flavorful (you can ask them to make it spicer if you would like, but this was delicious!) we also got the basil pad Thai, which was pretty good but the only thing was that the onion slices were not fully cooked and I had to remove all the onions pieces to eat the rest. The undercooked onion had a very powerful taste and affected the taste of the rest of the dish. But otherwise I really like the dishes and would come back!

Yelp
Food (1.5/2): Had dined in for various dishes in the menu (not a lot). Their dishes are a bit of a mixed bag. Most of their dishes are great but tends to be over-spiced or the ingredient balance is a bit off. Fried fish cake was great but it was a bit spicier than I'd like and the outer skin is a tiny bit tougher than expected. Fried rice were very oily but flavor was great. Boat noodle portion was huge but the flavor is heavily on the sour side. Their dumplings felt like it came from frozen, instant dumplings. There's quite various small things that made them less than awesome. Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Service was courteous and prompt, given that they're relatively crowded when we were there. Wait-time for food was also relatively quick. Cleanliness is ok, though I'd prefer it to be cleaner. Also not sure if it's just due to the floor plan but they had to pass the diner table when dragging trash containing food waste...I'd say a bit off-putting but can't do much I guess... Price (0.5/1): All in all, I think it's priced relatively fairly. Some food I feel are overpriced just for the fact that it felt like it was not "cooked from scratch". Nevertheless, the portion is great and it's still good food.

Yelp
Rod Thai is your local mom & pop shop that you know is reliable and good. I've been countless times and their cooking reminds me of home. I usually get the panang curry with crispy chicken, mango sticky rice, and scallion pancakes. Panang Curry with Crispy Chicken: the Panang curry has a kick without it being overly spicy. Their crispy chicken is a signature as I've seen it in other dishes, as well. It's flaky, tender, and crunchy. The three qualifications for an amazing fried chicken. Mango Sticky Rice: a Thai staple. The coconut rice is fragrant and the mangos are always ripe. Scallion Pancakes: I will say that they make their scallion pancakes more "well-done" so it's going to be firmer than your usual scallion pancakes in Chinatown. Overall: a casual neighborhood joint for a quick lunch/dinner. Their crispy chicken is a must get!

Oscar H.

Yelp
Rod Thai is a lovely small place over in Fenway, but unfortunately my most recent experience with Rod Thai wasn't the most positive. Disclaimer: I have been to Rod Thai in the past and it hasn't been bad, but this was an outlier that was a bit disappointing. I ordered through UberEats so I'm hoping that was the issue. I always get the Pad See Ew (no egg cause I have an egg allergy) as well as a Thai Iced Tea. The Pad See Ew was alright flavor wise but they didn't use the thick rice noodles that I've gotten in the past that are typical of Pad See Ew. The Thai Iced Tea was the real negative here cause there were white chunks floating all around it... it looked like a snow globe. I definitely did not feel comfortable finishing it. (I have a video, I wish I could post here haha) The tofu in the P.S.E. was pretty well flavored so I will give them that, I'm just tired of being disappointed by Boston Thai Places. Hopefully I get the chance to eat with them again and redeem them in the future :)

Hannah H.

Yelp
quick and reliable service, food is always great! i get the chicken pad thai and crab rangoons and it never disappoints! in a great area as well!

Charlene E.

Yelp
I wanted to try a new Thai restaurant in the area and saw this had good reviews. I tried their drunken noodles with shrimp. Not the best drunken noodles I've had but it was not terrible. The presentation was not appealing though and very unsightly. However, I still ate it and it was okay.

Cydney N.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick dinner before visiting Fenway Park. Located just a short block away the restaurant had a very small seating area so definitely feels more like a grab and go place but you are able to sit if a table is available. Food was cooked quickly and served piping hot! Portions were decent. Had the pad see ew which was not overly greasy and the beef was tender and not overcooked. Convenient for a quick bite before a game and not a big sit down place so depends on what you're looking for. Feels like a class college grab and go with pretty good food!

Jenny Z.

Yelp
really solid place for affordable thai food! I got the tom yum noodle soup and I really liked the soft thin and silky texture of the noodles with the flavorful, spicy broth. I got the seafood and recommend that if you want variety in fish tofu, fish balls, shrimp and squid! Love the peanut crumbs and overall reminded me of the tomyum noodlesI had in Bangkok :) my friend also got the drunken noodles which were super flavorful. Also got the papaya salad which was super refreshing and definitely good, but nothing special! overall would recommend though as it really hit the spot for my tom yum cravings.

Allie S.

Yelp
Another good Thai restaurant to consider if ordering in during the week. The rice noodle dish with duck caught my eye as duck's not a commonly available option for noodle dishes. The food was tasty and for a reasonable price you get a decent serving size and plenty of duck meat. Can't wait to try other dishes in the future.

John B. L.

Yelp
VERY good! We had a Veggie&Tofu Red Curry, and a Pord Rad Lar Nar (wide noodles), plus a Banana Sweet Rice. Fun sodas to try, too. Served FAST! Enjoyed the picnic tables outside.

Elizabeth Y.

Yelp
I thought Rod Thai was pretty satisfying and made a solid dinner. I got the tofu pad see ew and tried some of the beef drunken noodles. There was a pretty generous amount of vegetables, which I liked. (My friend who got the same dish as me thought they were undercooked, but I'm fine with crunchy veggies.) The fried tofu were pretty good, but there was a slightly unusual flavor in them. There wasn't a ton of depth to the flavors, but it still hit the spot as a filling stir-fry meal for a reasonable price. I used to love a Thai restaurant in Brookline called Rod Dee, but I guess this place is different. It seems like they are being careful with social distancing and minimizing contact, which is a plus!

Will F.

Yelp
Great Thai spot in Boston! I went with the crab ragoon, beef pad gra pow, shrimp pad thai, and soft shell crab over rice. Oh also can't forget about tha Thai tea which was really refreshing. Everything was bussin and gotta give props to thai places that serve bean sprouts that taste really fresh. Service was quick and chill since it's kinda a smallish restaurant.

Aditya P.

Yelp
Can't really complain. Came here with my girlfriend, and the vibes were phenomenal and the food was fresh and tasty. The yellow curry is to die for.

Della S.

Yelp
I gotta say y'all, Rod Thai has helped carry me through quarantine. The quality of their food is super reliable as I can always count on fresh ingredients. Their service is super quick too! You might as well be outside the restaurant already or on your way when you put in an order because they fulfill orders so quickly. Most of their entrees are close to or under $10. Order with your roommates and sample their menu! Adding their crispy chicken to my orders for a little over $4 is my guilty pleasure, but some of their fried rice dishes include crispy chicken (in addition to whatever protein it already has) so look out for that. The interior of the restaurant is laid out with labels all over the pickup table so that it is easy for you to find your order. The online ordering platform from their website gives first time users 10% off!

K G.

Yelp
Good thai food. Got the pad thai, very standard nothing to write home about. Ambiance is small and quite noisy. Staff is friendly.

Kevin W.

Yelp
Probably one of the best Southeast Asian food I've ever had in the US. Usually when I see a huge menu, that's a red flag since it's usually an indication that they don't have a specialty. But if one restaurant can do it all, it's Rod Thai. Been coming here for a few years, back when it was called Rod Dee 2. Still the same taste and quality as before, just prices have gone up (no surprise there). I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu but to help narrow it down, I've gotten most things on the most popular menu and they're all fantastic. My go to is the Indonesian Fried Rice with Crispy Chicken. One downside is there is very limited seating so I recommend takeout if possible. Additionally seems like they are pretty popular now, ordered takeout 20 mins early on a Monday night and still waited for an additional ~20 mins since their store was so busy. Plan ahead but definitely give Rod Thai a try!

Jen C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here on a weekend evening. We both ordered the pad thai with crispy chicken. I've tried a lot of pad Thai places, but this one is definitely my favorite! Even without adding extra sweet chili sauce, the noodles were so yummy and flavorful! The crispy chicken tasted really delicious as well. I think that adding one small container of sweet chili sauce makes it taste perfectly sweet yet perfectly savory! The delivery person was very nice and our food arrived warm! Overall, I'm very happy with what we ordered! I'll definitely come by next time I'm in the Fenway area!

Joop V.

Yelp
When my friend visited me in Boston, he really wanted to go to Rod Dee (now this branch is known as Rod Thai), a place where he used to frequent when he was in Boston many years ago. So, I obliged...even though I'm Thai and wasn't finding Thai food anything as special as my friend did. We ordered quite a few dish and really enjoyed them all. The portion was kindda big though..but my friend pretty much inhaled the meat basil dish..and finished everything! I had the fried chicken Indonesian fried rice...and though it wasn't in anyway a Thai dish...it tasted amazing!! I would definitely ordered this dish again for sure. The chicken was crispy outside..but still tender inside. P.S. the new Rod Thai now accepts credit card! Price wise..I thought it was really reasonable too!

Credit card minimum purchase $10 First tried Rod Thai from a recommendation and have been frequenting them for Thai food since. The restaurant is quite simple and unassuming but they've got great food at reasonable prices. Our usual dishes are Pad Thai, Fried Tofu Triangles (appetizers), Indonesian Fries Rice, and more recently we also tried the Kua Gai. I've loved everything I've tried here so far. For a classic dish like Pad Thai, I really their recipe and sauces over some other local choices. The ladies working here are great and our most recent visit reminded us of their wonderful customer service. They normally have a $10 minimum for credit card but made an exception when we were a few cents short of the minimum. While our food was being prepared, we decided to wait outside across the street where it wasn't so busy, and was surprised when the staff personally came across the street to deliver our order so that our food wouldn't be sitting without our knowledge.

Yelp
Rod Thai is a small restaurant along the street filled with many other restaurants of various cuisines. We ordered Thai iced tea, drunken noodles with chicken, chive dumplings, and their chicken curry puffs. We sat outside since the weather was nice. If you choose to dine in, your food will be served on plates, and they have water and utensils for you to grab on the side in the restaurant. Just remember to return your dirty dishes to their bin inside. The Thai iced tea was alright, nothing much to say. The chive dumplings while crispy on the outside, were chewy on the inside. I did not like the sauce that came with it as it was too sweet for my liking. Their chicken curry puffs looked amazing but lacked chicken and were mainly stuffed with potatoes. Drunken noodles had a hint of spice and were cooked with various vegetables. Overall, the food was not bad, but also not very memorable. They do have a large extensive menu so I would come back to try their other stuff.

Yelp
I used to come here a lot while I was in college because it was convenient. it's not eh best Thai place I've been to, but it's SOLID. They have a really great Crispy Chicken with nice flavor. This is VERY casual. If you're looking for a nice sit down place for dinner, it's not a great choice. But again, this place is consistent and solid. Great for takeout for sure. Service is always fast and friendly.

Yelp
Delicious, quick, and affordable! The drunken noodles and the crab Rangoon are my favorites on the menu.
