You can get very close driving from Leupp Rd on unpaved rd where Miller Mining is looking up from Google map. Although it’s unpaved road is extremely pleasant and smooth all the way in. It’s about 9miles to the first gate. There is construction going on in the back side you won’t be able to see so you will see a “restricted area” sign at the first gate. There will be security. Second gate is closer to the crater but you won’t get past the first gate. You can see the crater from the first gate but it just looks like a regular mound from far away. I got to talk to one of the security and it sounds like it won’t be open to the public for some time. This is my 3rd time trying. Hopefully i get to see it someday.
