New Whittier Food Hall Rodeo 72 Gives Life to a Former Youth Correctional Facility | Eater LA

"Debuted on Saturday, May 3 in an expansive, stunningly redesigned 20,000-square-foot space that was formerly the Fred C. Nelles Youth Correctional Facility complex, a California State Historical Landmark. The food hall houses 15 food vendors plus a full bar and includes Capo Public House, where diners can find a wine selection solely from California, craft beer, and cocktails with televisions that will be programmed for Southern California sports teams. The project comes from Almquist (the developer behind San Juan Capistrano’s Heritage Barbecue and Whittier’s retail complex, the Groves) with consulting development partner Jasmin Gonzalez; Almquist relocated some of the buildings, took great care to restore the property, and brought on local artists (some of whom are former Nelles residents) to assist with its design. Gonzalez filled the space with bright murals by local artists and the Grailed Gallery tattoo studio, and the venue also exhibits photography by Whittier‑native filmmaker and photographer Estevan Oriol, who “helped bring Los Angeles’s lowrider and Chicano culture to the forefront.” Gonzalez adds a personal connection: “I grew up cruising up and down Whittier Boulevard. I wanted to bring something different to the neighborhood but also represent the Whittier community and its diversity.” The full list of vendors can be found on the venue’s website; the development shares similarities with nearby BLVD MRKT—ample outdoor patios and seating areas, new and established vendors expanding their presence, and accessible community spaces for events. While some see food halls as a relic, the arrival of this project and forthcoming spots (Round 1 Delicious debuting in West Hollywood in 2025 and Local Kitchens opening in Studio City this June) may signal a changing tide. Open at 7012 Walnut Grove Drive, Whittier, CA, 90606 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; EggBred opens at 7 a.m." - Mona Holmes

I love the best food court in the local Whittier neighborhood and I can easily walk here with my parents since we live five minutes away from our house in the Groves. They serve the best meals like sandwiches, pizzas, Peruvian, tacos, Thai, ice cream, breakfast sandwiches with eggs, and lots of delicious meals. Of course, I'm local and I live super close to Rodeo 72. It can be enjoyed by kids, teens, and adults alike.

Another great food hall from the Rodeo Group. Eatalian NJP , Krapow, and Paper Rice were my favorites. My review for Eatalian will be posted so follow for more. Go before it gets busy, we arrived as soon as it opened. And go on a weekday.

I apologize by starting out that the parking here is very terrible and even before it opens at 11am, it is already getting full. I got my food with Inka chicken and I’ve had before at a different location and it is always good! I walked around the food court and it reminded me of going to the mall but the atmosphere felt more alive and joyful from the people around. I came by the first week I opened and it was super crowded! So I waited for the madness to ease up so that I can walk around and scope out and see what are my options of food. Will come back and see again around this same time how the ambiance is, until then we will see.

There are so many good restaurants to choose from. There is seating for large and small groups. The parking is difficult to find but if you're lucky, someone will be leaving as you're arriving. You can also watch the Dodgers games on a big screen at the bar area.

🌮 The Basket Taco Co. – Whittier’s Hidden Gem If you're craving tacos with a twist, The Basket Taco Co. delivers bold flavors wrapped in tradition. Their Tacos de Canasta are a standout—steamed to perfection and served with cabbage, pickled onions, and vibrant salsas that hit all the right notes. The Birria Grilled Cheese is pure indulgence: toasted sourdough packed with juicy beef birria and melty cheese, paired with grilled jalapeños and a rich consomé for dipping. The vibe? Casual, friendly, and full of heart. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or diving into their Carne en su Jugo this spot proves it’s not your average taco joint

This place has been all over social media with rave reviews so we decided to stop and have lunch since it’s nearby. The parking is horrible and not enough for wanting patrons. There is parking nearby at the shopping center next door. Now the place itself is basically just a food court but there is outside tables as well as indoor. The indoor seating is limited for all the eateries. There’s different types of food but it’s also a bit pricey. It’s a warehouse type of facility which wasn’t very cool on a hot day. There was a cleaning crew but not sure where they were since empty tables were dirty; however, when we asked they did clean the tables immediately us and others to sit down. Overall, it’s okay but not sure if we’d visit again.

Google
This is my new favorite food hall in the Los Angeles area!! I already have much love for the Rodeo 39 Public Market in Orange County, so I KNEW I had to come check this one out when I heard about its opening! It did NOT disappoint! I found all of the options for food and drinks here to be varied, diverse, unique, and creative! While visiting, I decided to give the Karai Hand-Roll & Ramen Bar a try, and found myself very pleased that I had! The 'Quatro' order of four handrolls for $20 (salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail, shrimp tempura) was a great value and freshly prepared. I enjoyed the quality and flavor in each of them. The Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen here was also a solid bowl and will certainly hit the spot if you're having cravings for one. Kozan Tea House also had one of the BEST slushes I've ever ordered - the Strawberry Cloud! It was SO creamy and flavorful - I slurped that thing up!! I definitely recommend ordering it! The food hall also featured a sportsbar area with big TV screens that opens out to a nice outdoor patio. A band was playing while we were there, and it looks like a great area for hanging out and enjoying live music or other shows. Now, I've seen a few complaints about the lack of parking. It IS a bit tight...but living in Hollywood, I'm pretty used to that. I personally was able to find parking without too much trouble. With all that being said, I unsurprisingly HIGHLY recommend driving out to Rodeo 72 and trying out some of the food and drinks inside!

Google
It’s a nice spot in Whittier to relax. Whittier doesn’t have anything that’s like it, and it’s nice to have it. It is a total vibe. Has something for everyone. Drinking for the adults and food for the kids. The park sucks, and it’s always packed, but that’s cause it suffers from its own success. Has a big screen to watch the games on!

Yelp
Rodeo 72 Public Market in Whittier is definitely the spot if you're trying to hit a food hall with options for everybody. They've got a little bit of everything -- ramen, pizza, Hawaiian BBQ plates, Japanese eats, plus a bar if you're trying to grab a drink. The music adds to the vibe and gives it that fun, social energy. Service is solid, people are welcoming, and the space feels clean and well put together. It's the type of place you can pull up with friends or family and everyone finds something they're into. Only heads up -- parking and seating can get packed, so I'd recommend rolling in early to secure your spot. Overall, Rodeo 72 has that nice balance of good food variety, chill environment, and a lively atmosphere. A good hangout spot that I'd come back to whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
Rodeo 72 is a new food hall (opened in May 2025) located in Whittier and is a part of Rodeo Public Market (Rodeo River Street, Rodeo 39, and Rodeo X). [Parking]: Not exactly an ideal parking situation. While the food hall has a private parking lot, I was not able to find an available spot even on a weekday visit during the dinner time period and I had to park at the adjacent lot at Stater Bros. Markets. [Atmosphere]: The food hall has a nice outdoor patio area and visitors are free to grab any available outdoor tables & watch sports games on TVs by Capo Public House (purchase not required when viewing at a distance). Dogs are welcome, but they must be outside on the patio and must remain on leash. [Vendors]: * Blue Bowl (acai bowls) * Capo Public House (beer, cocktails, and wine + TVs playing sports) * Double 3 (bubble waffle and ice cream) * Eatalian (Italian) * Eggbred (breakfast sandwiches - one of many locations in SoCal) * Karai Handroll Bar (hand-rolled sushi) * Kozan Teahouse (specialty tea beverages) * Krapow (Thai food - one of the more popular food options in the food hall) * Las Chelaguas (Agua Fresca) * Paper Rice (fast-casual Vietnamese cuisine - one of the more popular food options in the food hall) * Primal Cuts (steak) * Shootz (Hawaiian - all Rodeo Public Market locations have this vendor) * Starcones (loaded fries and stroopwafels) * The Basket Taco (tacos) * The Inka Spot (Peruvian food) [Conclusion]: Overall above-average on food options and this is a nice spot to watch sports, catch up with friends, or come here for a casual date. I am a fan of this food hall but do wish for a slightly larger parking lot.

Yelp
In a world where we see less and less mall style food courts this is a welcome addition. This is more of a food hall with multiple independent locations to partake in. The variety is good from Asian to Mexican to Peruvian to American. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. We tried a variety of foods to get a good sampling of flavors. Peruvian chicken was ok, sadly the green sauce provided was a bit runny and lacked flavor. Ramen was good in a flavorful soup base with adequate accompaniments. The smash burger was the big winner with juicy meat which overflowed beyond the bun. Chicken wings were good, plump and tasty. Parking can be difficult but with patience your endeavor will prevail. Almost forgot to mention banana coffee was amazing a must try. See you there

Yelp
I love the collection of food items in one spot . The vibes are awesome too. We tried multiple food vendors and great options. It's kept clean and great customer service . No issues finding parking! Such a plus but may be diff during weekends.

Yelp
Rodeo 72 Public Market is like a food hall inside a big building. There is plenty of parking here if you don't mind walking from Cava/Philz Coffee. The signs are easy to miss. You have to turn into Walnut Grove Drive, and it's behind the bank. The building is pretty. The inside is not as spacious as that of the newer Haven City in West Covina. The food options are plentiful, including teas and desserts. I was here on a Sunday evening in August. They had live music outside, but it was so loud. I was able to find a table inside to chat with my friend. There are bathrooms with the hand-washing station outside of the toilets. I love that they had so many stalls in the women's restroom!

Yelp
LOVE RODEO 72! This is a go-to spot for hangouts. There's lots of options for food, drinks, and snacks. I wish they added a vegan or keto diet friendly place bc that's the only thing really missing to make this place perfect! If you have never been, here's what to expect: - Parking lot is fairly small so you may have to park in the neighborhood or other lots nearby. Consider coming earlier in the evening or at non peak times if you want to enjoy without massive crowds. - take a walk around the market and see all the vendor options available. There are a lot of different types of foods and you have the choice to eat indoors or outdoors. - every place will give you a buzzer or text you to pick up your food when ready. There's no designated seating except for at the sushi spot in the middle of the market, so any seat/table is essentially up for grabs! Live music, lots of seating, good food, sports games at the bar if you want to catch a game... talk about the best night out!

Yelp
This is for today. I came yesterday for game one of the World Series and it was great. But today they have a wrestling May taking up half the area to watch the game. They also have loud music. So makes it even harder to hear the game. Then half the area that has seats outside has some of the people that are suppose to be on the mat. They are noot drinking or eating just the stuff they brought. Even their friends. Taking up spaces for customers. I'm glad this is not my first time. I would never come back. My thing is get on the mat or go home customers are getting tired of the distractions. What a waste of time here.

Yelp
Beautiful location. An Abundance of food vendors to choose from. Friendly and fairly quick service from all vendors we ordered from. Plenty of parking at 4:45pm for a Friday, but it definitely filled up by 7pm. We were also able to snag a table quickly. Kozan boba was a refreshing choice. Enjoyed my Jasmine boba milk tea with oat milk, 50% sweet. Paper Rice is a great and delicious concept. The pork belly was most flavorful. Nem was good, shrimp was also good but not much garlic flavor. The fish sauce and peanut sauce were good. Pandan mochi cake was bomb. Suggestion: more branding because it's not prominent and I had to ask what the name of the place was. Karai has great options to choose from. Quality and freshness of the fish and food is fantastic. Quatro hand rolls, Yubu: lemon salmon king, tajin salmon king, tuna king, spicy edamame were all packed with so much flavor. Shootz Combo #4 which was the kimchi butter shrimp plate, 2 piece spam brûlée, can soda was a great deal, also packed with so much flavor. This place was fun and I'd definitely come back. Suggestion: hang some fly traps because while it's cool to have the indoor/outdoor concept, flies everywhere is not cool.

Yelp
Both were great tasting but they ran out of coffee! The cashier was super nice. The whole vibe inside the building was fun. They have live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'll be back. (In Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice.)

Yelp
Very nice hang out spot. Outdoor patio is huge and clean. Dog friendly so I definitely plan on bringing my furry best friend here. Near the bar area, there is a big screen. Looks like a set up for watching sport games. I wish there are more food vendors though. And more dessert or coffee option!

Yelp
Stopped here to try Primal Cuts -- right next to the bar (Capo), so tried a beer too. They have a video wall that is great to watch the Dodgers or Rams! Order the Butcher Burger and Onion Rings -- really good! Plenty of seating inside and in the patio with lots of umbrellas for shade. The parking can be a challenge, but worth it ... we will be back

Yelp
I like it. It's located right in the heart of Whittier. It's a modern food court. As soon as you walk through the front door, you feel the air conditioning and see neon signs. There is quite the selection. There's a craft breakfast sandwich restaurant on your left and a boba & tea house on your right. As you walk further down, there's a spring roll, açaí place on your left and a Thai restaurant on your right. There's a long counter with stool seating on the left that sells ramen. When you walk down to the end, there are a couple other restaurants and a large bar to the left. Hustling and bustling with business, but no seriously long lines. There's seating indoors for those of you who want to get out of the summer heat. But tons of seating outdoors, a few long bench seating, but there are individual tables also. Perfect for large groups. Dogs are not allowed indoors, but can't see a reason why they can't be outdoors. I bought a milk tea with boba at Kozan. It cost $7+ without tip. Pretty good. The boba is fresh and chewy, just how I like it. You order and pay at the counter. They hand you a pager. Mine didn't go off because the gal saw me sitting at one of the two tables in the counter. The plastic cup doesn't have their logo on it. Concerning parking, it's pretty full right next to the market, especially during lunch. But there's plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot. Parking is free. I noticed there is an electric car charging parking space.

Yelp
Rodeo 72 is a fun, expansive food court. Basically what you will find here is a whole lot of everything. They have all kinds of food varieties from Boba, to Pho, to Ramen, to Tacos and a little bit of everything in between. This is a long, cylindrical food court, with food-serving businesses on both sides. The interior is nice, temperature controlled, and is lined with seating at counter spaces in front of some of the businesses. They also have a few tables sprinkled around the facility, Outside you'll find a whole lot of tables. Outside, however, the problem is the weather. If it's hot, it's hot. If it's cold, it's cold. Inside offers the best option if you want to remain surrounded with a constant temperature. This is a popular business. There's a lot of customers that come here. Keep that in mind, because you may have to wait a little while to get your food during certain hours. They have a parking lot surrounding the business. But, keep in mind, this parking lot becomes full, very quickly, as the day draws on. There's a much larger parking lot across the street. This is probably gonna be your best bet to park. But, during peak hours you may even have trouble finding a spot over there. Just something to keep in mind. Overall, if you want to come and get something to eat, have a fun drink, or even catch a beer over at the bar section, or whatever, this is a fun place to check out
google avatar

Yelp
Cool place to hang out and have a variety of places to eat. It's not as good as Haven City in West Covina but it's clean, spacious, and modern. We got food from the Karai Handroll Bar, chicken sandwich from Shootz, spring rolls from Rice Paper, and steak from Primal Cuts. Everything is on the pricier side.

Yelp
I heard about this new food hall, so wanted to see how it compares to other ones I've been to. I did go around Sunday at 11 AM, which was right when it opened. There was a small parking located on the side. I missed it at first, so ended up parking in the residential area. Overall, it felt like a decent sized food hall. There were enough options for you walk through and wonder which options to grab. There were also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Eventually I decided to get The Inka Spot. The lomo saltado stood out on the menu, so I placed an order and it only took a few minutes to be ready. One thing that immediately stood out was the portion of food. There was a good amount of fries, beef, onions, and rice. Everything was seasoned well and had a lot of flavor; they were also generous with the sauce. I'm not a big fan of tomatoes, but even that tasted great! They did include a soup that had carrots and chicken in it. It was not bad! I'd recommend Inka Spot as a go-to stall and would be returning here to try other options! This food hall seemed like a great place for hanging out with a date, friends, or family. American Express was accepted.

Yelp
I love it here! I've tried primal cuts, shoots, Kara hand roll bar, and krapow and everything has been delicious. We recently had some friends meet us here to watch the dodger game and it's such a great spot because of all the food options and really big bar. I definitely recommend this spot when in Whittier. So happy this was added to the city! It's also very clean.

Yelp
Love the ambiance! Lots of food options! Went around 11AM right when the opened. Not a lot of people and easy to find parking. Parking got really crazy when I left close to 1PM, so make sure to get there early! Shootz (Hawaiian) Love their Katsu Chicken Sando! Great flavors. Spam Brûlée Musubi was good, but too much rice and could use more sauce. Strawberry Pineapple lemonade was refreshing. On the lighter side, could use just a tad bit more flavor, but still good. Egg Bred Scramble Me Softly egg sandwich was yummy. They also have self-serve water on side which is nice. Love the theme they have going on. Double 3 Love the Dubai Chocolate Bubble Waffle. It was delicious! Love the murals there. Lots of seats inside and outside. Would come back to try other restaurants!

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! Very good concept where they have different types of eatery all inside the place. Gives a good variety and food option for everyone. There's tables throughout where you can sit and enjoy. The parking lot is huge but there's a lot of eateries in the plaza so it was packed. I tried: Spring rolls - I got the combo with 3 rolls - garlic shrimp, pork, and beef. My favorite was the garlic shrimp. Pork was too porky. The beef was slightly too sweet. I really enjoyed the shrimp tho. The dipping sauce was good as well. Spam musubi- this was good but had a lot of stuff going on. It had some aioli with crème brûlée crust? It was different but I would get it again. Jasmine milk tea with 75% sweet. This was really good. There were so many options that I wanted to try. Also it's great that there's a boba place inside. There were lots of other places too. Ice cream, Thai, Japanese, Peruvian, Mexican, etc. will be back to try other places again.

Yelp
** New Hot spot in Whittier Large variety of food options to choose from steaks, pizza, steamed tacos, spring rolls, Dubai Chocolate bubble cones and much more! Plenty of seating inside and out, definitely wheelchair accessible & kid friendly. Heads up the lines are long but really worth the wait. And let's not forget the bar with craft beers and mixed drinks. Definitely becoming a local regular here.
google avatar

Yelp
A wonderful food court with a great bar and food options. The parking can be difficult but worth it. They have a wonderful outdoor patio with large trees, inside lots of seating and a bar area. A few vegan options which are always appreciated as well!
google avatar

Lovella A.

Yelp
I love that there's a Rodeo food hall in the L.A. area! And they brought my favorites like Primal Cuts and Shootz, plus Blue Bowl and Eggbred. The parking situation is less of a pain than Rodeo 39 in Stanton. There's always live music and tons of seating. Definitely a chill place to gather with pretty good food options!
google avatar

Mishi V.

Yelp
Kudos to the cleaning crew! They're always cleaning the inside and exterior of the building grounds. One of the guys was detailing a sink with a small brush instead of just pulling trash and refilling items they're paying attention to detailed cleaning. It's a nice vibe for families, friends, dates of all ages. There's tvs by Capo bar to watch the games. There's plenty of parking in the shopping plaza. Good variety of food options including: Italian, American, Mexican, Peruvian, Thai, Sushi/Japanese, Vietnamese, ice cream, Açaí bowls, and tea/drinks.

Yelp
What was formerly the Whittier State School in 1891 and then renamed to the Fred C. Nelles reform school for boys until it closed in 2004. This has now been transformed into a new community of homes, shopping and now a food market located in several of the original historical buildings. Since this is 15 minutes from my residence I opted to come during the week after the grand opening weekend. It was during the lunch hour, and the parking lot was at capacity. Rodeo 72 is the sister food market in Stanton Rodeo 39 in Stanton, so I'm thrilled this new branch is now in my home town. I invited my neighbor so we ended up experiencing Los Chelaguas birria and Shootz. We shared the birria torta and tried the aqua fresca of cucumber, mint and lemon. In addition, we shared a meal from Shootz Hawaiians fusion and shared the combo meal of shrimp, chicken and spam musubi. Overall, the service was friendly, accommodating and the food exceeded my expectations. There's seating indoors or dine Al Fresco and entertainment with live musicians performing at the outdoor stage or watch a sporting event on a large screen flat screen at the Capo Public Bar. I can see this venue being popular to hang out with friends and or family, especially with the perfect weather we enjoy here in So Cal.

Yelp
This new food hall is a welcome edition to Whittier. It hosts 14 food shops and a bar. This place is bound to be popular and I would recommend coming at off meal time hours to avoid the crowds. There are numerous tables inside and at an outdoor area. My family came here on a Thursday prior to the lunch crowd. We walked the whole place to see what each shop offered. There's a great variety to choose from ( prime steak , pizza, Hawaiian/korean, Mexican , Peruvian,Thai,,Japanese ,fruit bowl, Vietnamese, boba drinks, egg bread sandwiches, ice cream & waffle cookies !). We decided to try the Japanese place (Karai) because it had cushioned chairs along bar seating style. Other than the bar, this place was the only one that had limited seats available on the spot for dining. You can order and pay on the iPad at the table. They serve yubus which are stuffed tofu skin, ramen and sushi hand rolls . Since it was a fairly warm day , we skipped the ramen this time . The yubus were yummy. Hand rolls ( salmon skin, scallop, crab ) were fresh made. Karagi chicken was lightly battered and juicy. We all enjoyed coming here today. I think this place will be successful.

Yelp
Food - depends on where you go, but 4/5 on average Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Brand new food hall that has a quaint, cute and chill vibe. Ample amount of parking all around the building. Open seating indoors and cute outdoor area. But this also means there are a good amount of flies unfortunately. They have a brunch egg place, smoothie place, tacos, Thai, Vietnamese spring rolls, ramen/japanese place, pizza, Hawaiian musabi, steak and American food with full bar and an açaí bar and two dessert places. I've had the Japanese place (KARAI HAND ROLL AND RAMEN) and I got a hand roll and the inari sushis. I give this place a 3/5 Because it was really expensive ($30) and portion was small and sushi had too much sauce and was too sweet. Had EATALEAN NJP. Give this place 5/5. You can make you own pizza and choose thin or thick crust. Got thick crust and was delish. Good sized pizza for $20 Favorite dish would have to be from KRAPOW, Thai place. Got the tom yum fried rice. Good portion for $17 I think. Was DELISH, 5/5. Will have to go back to try. Spice level 1-5 choice and I got a 2 and was already HOT and I love spices. Overall will def be back

Yelp
Great foodhall with some new vendors compared to Rodeo 39. I wish they had a little more seating but restaurant wise they have a good variety. I love paper roll, blue bowl, and the Thai restaurant so far. The handroll bar was not too bad as well with no wait time. Parking can be a nightmare.

Yelp
Heard this food hall just opened recently, so decided to check it out. Parking here is a challenge. Not enough parking spaces in my opinion. We ended up parking in the lots of the shopping center next to Rodeo 72. Parking aside, this is a great place to hang out with friends. Plenty of different foods to try. There are bars for those that enjoy alcohol. The night that we went, it was packed. A little hard to move around. There are tables both indoor and outdoor. Overall, it was a great experience. Go check them out.

Yelp
I heard of this new food court, and I really want to give it a try. It is located inside a very cute residential community. Parking could be difficult, and it took me a while to find a parking on the street. No complain because I enjoyed walking in this cute community. There were a lot of food options. I am a big fan of fries, and the star cones caught my eyes. The cashier is very friendly, and he gave me recommendations about the sauce that came with the fries. I ordered the carne asada fries. When I picked it up, it was served in a paper cone form, and there were not much fries in it. It was $14. Pretty pricey, and I was hoping that it tasted good. I was very disappointed, and it was just regular fries with beef. We also tried powered by kimchi butter, and there was a line. It is a sign for good food. I ordered the chicken katsu and masubi, and it was $2x because I got the combination. It took a while for them to prepare the food. The food looks good, and it was decent. Nothing special about it. Trying this food court once is enough. Food seemed to be overpriced and not as good as how they look from the pictures.

Rodeo 72 is the same concept as Rodeo 39 in Stanton. They both actually have similar food vendors. You'll find an array of food options like Hawaiian, pizza, sushi, tacos, chicken, and dessert. I'm not a fan of this food hall concept because I get overwhelmed by the amount of options and people. This food hall just opened, but I expect this place to be busy. The inside wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be. Most of the space is taken up by the food and drink vendors and a large portion of the seating is outdoors. The outdoor seating is not covered so I can imagine how hot it might feel on a sunny day. It's also quite challenging to find a place to sit. There were some tables that didn't have any chairs because people would take them to other tables. It was a bunch of folks walking around and asking different parties if they were using the chairs. You're either lucky or unlucky for the parking. The lot is small and there are at least 4 to 5 spots allocated for pick up orders. It was nice to check it out the one time but I don't think I'll be back.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night and this place was packed. We couldn't find parking in the food hall's parking lot so we had to park in the next plaza. Even with that, it took a while because it is a busy plaza. There are a good variety of choices to choose in the food hall and there's an outdoor space. I tried 2 places so far: Shootz: I got the combo #4, the mixed plate with 2 brulee spam musubi and a can of soda. The kimchi butter katus chicken was my favorite. It was the right amount of buttery and savory which goes well with the rice. The macaroni salad is so really good. Brulee spam musubi was interesting because it was sweet. I will def be back again to try their sandwich. Not Just your pizza: My bf ordered a focaccia and he thought it would be a sandwich but it came out to be in a pizza form. The focaccia was really light and airy. I didn't feel bad if I ate more than 2 slices of it. It was the right amount of lightness and I really like the arugula as the topping. I would def come back here to try the other food choices but probably not on the weekends since its going to be way harder to find parking.

Yelp
This is the newest food stall in Whittier you need to check out!!! Starting from primal cuts , Shootz, double 3, star, cones, blue bowl, paper rice, krapow, karai, and more, this place is the prime spot for the new foodies out there!!! The space is huge and there's so much seating inside and outdoor outdoors as well. This place is the best spot for a quick lunch pick up, desserts, or even a handroll Omakase with your favorite Ramen. Service is also top-notch with all the employees thank you nice and the food comes out super quick. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
Since this food hall opened, the parking has been ridiculous. Parking for Stater Bros has been a challenge. Finally made it on Saturday evening. I like the concept, but the food options were okay. The bar area and outdoor space was lovely and very busy. There was even a dj, which I appreciated. Some food stalls were closed which in my opinion could've stayed opened later especially on the weekends. I like that it's extremely close to my home and I could walk or ride my bike if I wanted too. Shout out to Starcones as our dessert was a treat. I really enjoyed it.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot that blends a cool vibe, delectable cuisine, beautiful murals, picturesque landscaping, and spacious dining areas, look no further than Rodeo 72. Whittier's new food hall with over 14 restaurant concepts, a full bar with well crafted beverages and a large TV monitor including amazing mural artwork painted by local Artist. Rodeo 72 is a dynamic community gathering location and Chef driven culinary destination that succeeded our expectations. In conclusion, Rodeo 72 goes beyond just being a food hall but an experience. Not only did it satisfy our palates but left us with a lasting impression of an amazing night that warrants return visits! Great job to the developers and all involved!

Yelp
New, Modern, Exciting, and Fun food hall! If you're from the LA/OC area- think Anaheim Packing House! This is the opening week, so of course this place is buzzing and full of life. Everything is clean and the service is great. As with all new spots, I'm interested to see how it will age. There are 14 different eateries/drink/dessert businesses. Today we tried Eggbred and Kazan- Boba + Tea. These businesses are in the front of the market and honestly, had the shortest lines. For our first time, we went with convenience due to the crowds. I will post my review of my food drinks of their respective Yelp pages.

Yelp
There is a designated parking lot that is free. No valet parking available. Parking was very challenging on the opening weekend! I went on the second day it opened to the public! Finally managed to find parking! There's a large variety of food choices from drinks, dessert, and food! There was no lines to enter the building! There were super long lines for many of the establishments, but that didn't stop people from standing in line! It was also super challenging finding a table too! There is outdoor seating, but it has no shade or covering! It has no heat lamps so plan accordingly! I would love to return back, but maybe in a few weeks/months after the traffic dies down a bit! It was too chaotic today!!!!

Yelp
Glad this is happening for the community. Lots of great options. It's a vibe. Visiting on the second day of opening may not have been the wisest move but still had a good meal there. Had the Burria taco combo from Las Chelaguas. Service was great ,food was good. Kind of in the pricey side $36 for the 3 taco and drink combo plus an additional agua. Seemed like they had a great choice of dessert options may go back for that. Also had 4 carnita tacos from The Basket Tacos. Those were good too. Kinda busy but that's to be expected on its second day. Heads up ...parking is a nightmare it's like going Christmas shopping at a mall. Will definitely go back at some point but after the hype subsides.

Yelp
Went here for the first time tonight! It was awesome the ambiance and Vibes make you feel like you're at the beach or in Hawaii! The outdoor seating is so nice and beautiful, there is a huge bar, and you can drink outside on the patio. We went on a Saturday and there was various live entertainment events happening, bands, guitarists and even Polynesian Dancers! The food mall had soooo many options, too! We ate small bites at 3 different food venues and everything we had was delicious! We loved it so much and can't believe we stumbled onto this gem just a few minutes from our house! We are happy to have found it and will definitely be visiting frequently!

Yelp
Today I attended grand opening day Was on time & in line to try out some deliciousness! Rain or shine we made it! 1st stop , KOZAN teahouse (mango cloud ) 7/10 - BASKET taco co - 3 potato tacos al vapor were so tasty! 10/10 The INKA SPOT - lucky to be the 50th person in line. I had the pleasure, tasting the flavorful chicken, beans, rice , salad + a cup of shredded chicken /rice porridge soup 9/10 STARCONES - last, but not least I purchased the half chocolate dipped wafer cookie w/strawberry for my topping 6/10 as the waffle part to bite was moist from I believe it was caramel at the bottom. Not a pleasant bite! Ambiance was living & everyone seemed to be involved & enjoying the new space Will definitely visit again

Yelp
We love coming here for the fact that it has something for everyone. They have a bar, have an aqua fresca stand, boba teas, Italian pastas and pizzas and ect. Sushi, vietnamese, steaks, bowls, fries, you name it. I would say they forgot an espresso cafe spot but they got the foods. Plenty of parking, parents: they do have High chairs that's a plus.

Yelp
Very disappointed with the service tonight. The female bartender was extremely unprofessional -- not only did she pressure the guests in front of us to leave a tip, but around 8:45 PM, she was loudly saying things like "f** all these people, let's go home."* This behavior is completely inappropriate, especially for a family-oriented establishment. We expected a much better experience.

Yelp
I've tried the boba spot and Paper Rice twice. I always get the same thing, and it's so yummy! It's the beef banh mi, and although it is kinda pricey $15, it is worth it. Last time, there was a live band getting ready to perform, so it definitely has an ambience to it. But the parking can get horrendous, so plan accordingly. There's some birria options, an Italian restaurant, a bar, among other options. It reminds me of the Anaheim Packing District a bit, but it's on a smaller scale.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Rodeo 72! The structure and grounds are beautiful (with an absolutely gorgeous and inviting floral mural on the initial walkway arch) but sadly, are not functional given the extensive foot traffic the market gets. Given its social media presence as a vibrant and centrally located community gathering spot, I was disappointed at the lack of green space for kids and dogs. There is absolutely no shade whatsoever which unfortunately makes for an unpleasant dining experience. The feeling of having to play musical chairs with the outdoor seating is off putting. People are literally circling the tables like hawks which I found to be unexpected and unfortunate. I was about to sit down with my family of 5 and this woman came out of nowhere and claimed our table because she "touched" it before us and set a bunch of napkins down (she had a family of 4). That action ruined the vibe for us. This is the reason why Whittier can't have nice things. After a few drinks I would expect an uncivilized soul to cause havoc over these seemingly minor but major inconveniences. We were stuck in the blazing sun and tearing up having to share what little was left of a patio umbrella. An older woman in a wheelchair next to us in the direct sunlight was having to be fanned down by her two family members in 95 degree weather. Why no one offered her their shade reinforces just how dismissive some patrons can be, sadly. Food is delicious and eclectic but overpriced, more like Downtown Disney or The Grove Los Angeles pricing. However, given the vast menu selections and culinary variety, makes for a fun outing to try at least once. Highlights include Blue Bowl and Primal Cuts. The Blue Bowls we ordered were fresh and tasty, with unlimited toppings and bases like Acerola Pineapple Yogurt, Blue Chia Pudding (infused with their signature blue spirulina) and pink Pitaya dragon fruit. During our visit DJ Rascal Dels, a Whittier community fixture, was spinning Freestyle and Oldies which was so fitting and perfect "on a Sunday afternoon". The Primal Cuts bar area houses a beautiful U-shaped bar top with a huge television, perfect for Dodger weekends. It would definitely make for a super fun setting to cheer on our Boys in Blue. Get Rick Caruso in here to revamp the parking and seating situation and it may be worth a revisit but for now it's likely a hard no for us to dine in, but take out is a very likely possibility to return.

Yelp
Yesterday was my first time at this location. They have a variety of food choices, but I believe there are only seven or eight different places. The parking lot is very small, so more than likely you'll have to park across the street in the shopping center or somewhere in the surrounding neighborhood. I tried paper rice, which was very stingy when putting protein in the rolls. The EGGBRED, truffle burger were really good, and The Basket Taco's brisket grilled cheese was the best thing I've tried there. I do recommend trying this place to see what you like.

Yelp
But the music is not good! We need a new dj asap! The food is great and drinks too but the music no Ty

Yelp
I visited on a Saturday and was able to find parking fairly quick. There's live music and events. There's several food vendors selling different types of food. It was a food hall, self seating. Little interaction with employees. Like other reviews mentioned, there's a small fly problem. Good spot to go with your friends if they can't decide what they want to eat.

Yelp
Share this with the big-backed group chat because Rodeo Public Market is bringing yet another food hall to the city of Whittier! If you're familiar with the OG Rodeo 39 in Stanton, y'all already know none of the food stalls ever miss. There's an entire sit-down sushi handroll bar, my favorite Hawaiian spot Shootz with the garlic shrimp, Thai food at Krapow, this insane-looking aguas frescas, build-your-own Vietnamese spring rolls, solid breakfast options at Egg Bred, a full bar inside the food hall, and you can even get a whole ribeye with all the accoutrements here. Round out your food crawl with something sweet like customizable stroopwafels, boba drinks, or soft serve in a bubble waffle. Who are you bringing to do a food crawl here?? Thanks for reading! ^-^

Yelp
MUST TRY IF YOU'RE A FOODIE!!! I've been here multiple times since its opening and each time has been nothing short of amazing. Love this one better than the Westminster location. Downside is the parking. But everything else has been incredible. This review is for EATALIAN. Since they don't have their own yelp page yet. The pizza here is delightful and did not disappoint. Anyways if you come here on Friday night for drinks don't come too late because most of the food spots close a bit early. They also have a DJ here sometimes and their sets make you want to get up and dance. Overall good vibes and amazing food!

Yelp
So first off this place looks amazing it's located in a great area!!! Yes, there's flashing lights and pretty signs. Parking could be better. If you have food, allergies, like dude, intolerance lactose intolerance, you're screwed I want to like this place, but I can't eat anywhere they don't offer enough gf/df options! It's not celiac friendly at all !!!!! I'm gonna give it another chance and see if I can get some accommodations done for myself... Wish me luck
