Roderick's BBQ

The food is good. My friend sent me a good review from a blogger so I stopped by one day after work. The yams and Mac N Cheese are fire. I only gave 3 stars because I’m not a fan of dark meat and they only offer chicken thighs. I wish they had some variety with white and dark meat. Would’ve gave them 5 stars if they had chicken breast.

Service was great. Brandon was really kind. I ordered the catfish sandwich and rib plate. My sides were mac and cheese, yams and greens. Catfish, ribs and yams were 10/10. Catfish was seasoned perfectly. The ribs were tender and the bbq sauce was hella good too. The yams were so good I thought I was eating sweet potato pie. I will be back!

I visited Roderick today for the fist time. Great customer service. Nice and clean. The food was great. Ribs nice tender and juicy. Tri tips, great. Links great. Fish fried just right. Mac cheese, baked bean, peach cobbler was great. My granddaughter and her family enjoyed it's also. We will be going back. Let's get out and support OURS peoples. Black Own business. Safe and clean location. The staff is the most wonderful people ever experienced in a restaurant. They are what keep me coming back for their amazing food that is a must taste. Plenty of soul, high energy and vibes here.

Got off work in between shifts and was expecting nothing but the best from some of the reviews but this by far was the worse “soul food” I’ve ever tasted especially for the overpricing, I ordered 3 meat combo with ribs, tritip and catfish my two sides were greens and mac and cheese and the rolls come with it and it was almost $50 the price definitely wasn’t the problem though, the greens tasted like they were boiled in water only, no onions, no meat and no seasoning with most of the hard thick stems in them, the mac was very overcooked and mushy and the bbq sauce on the meat tasted store bought, the only thing that was edible was the fish and store bought rolls, I tried to order banana pudding but they were all out thankfully because had I spent $10 and it was as bad as the food I would’ve been pissed off, I do not recommend.

Great BBQ and catfish! Best in the Bay Area. The staff are super friendly and the portions are big. They have plenty of TVs to watch whatever sports you are into. They do not serve beer or alcohol here. Parking can be a pain when they are busy.

I ordered the Mini Sampler platter and I was on the fence about the price before I ordered it but I was willing to give it a chance and I’m glad I did because it was worth it. It came with Ribs, Chicken, Sliced beef and Hot links plus 2 sides. While I waited for my order they asked if it was my first time there and I said yea then to my surprise when I left I found a Banana Pudding in the bag which was just as good as the BBQ. Portions were great, they have spicy or mild options for the bbq sauce and their service was great. It’s a BLACK OWNED business with good food and good people.

Don’t walk! RUN! if you haven’t been here before. The food is amazing! Peach cobbler is amazing! Kool-aid is 🔥 we had the 2way. Mac was delicious, collard greens were tender and flavorful, potato salad was on point! Again, stop by. You won’t be disappointed! Very happy with my first experience.
