Google
Not what it used to be at all. I ordered a platter of nachos and they were the driest nachos ever. If I need to order extra cheese to receive a normal amount of cheese, at least let me know. We picked through to find VERY FEW chips with barely enough cheese to make it edible. The staff either needs to be trained on food preparation, or Rodney’s needs to revisit the criteria for quality nachos. 😒 The snowball was still good today. That’s the only reason I fave them a 3.

JUST MOVED HERE FROM ATLANTA. ITS A HOT DAY. WANTED SOMETHING COLD. NEIGHBOR RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE FOR A SNO CONE SINCE ITS AROUND THE CORNER. I PURCHASED THE CANTALOUPE AND CHEESECAKE HALF AND HALF. I TRIED THE NACHOS TOO SINCE MOST PEOPLE IN THE LINE AHEAD OF ME WERE BUYING THEM. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GREAT FROM THE YOUNG LADIES WHICH I WAS SURPRISED. EVERYTHING IS SOOO GOOD. THANK YOU RODNEYS FOR THIS GREAT FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE! THIS IS MY NEW SPOT

I have memories from high school years getting snowballs from here. My cousin owned a salon around the corner. This place was a big part of my childhood. It saddens me to have to leave this review. Today I received the worst snowball I have ever had from them. So bad I'm throwing it away. The flavor was watered down, hardly no taste and I asked for extra. The only reason I'm not giving a one star is because of the nachos. I'm really disappointed because I have noticed as of late the quality has been a hit or miss .... Today was a complete strick out. I may have to find another snowball spot.

Yelp
My absolute favorite snowball stand in the city. I hadn't been to Rodney's in quite some time due to living outside of the city and it was still just as good as I remembered it to be. The ice is always soft, I enjoy their flavor selection, you get gummy bears, and of course there are snacks! The young women working were incredibly nice and such good sports about my flavor questions. One of my summertime missions is to try more snowball flavors (I am a mango/Hawaiian or strawberry/kiwi loyalist), so I came to Rodney's to begin my task. I've always wondered what flavor "tiger's blood" is and I finally tried it. It was described as being like strawberry with a bit of coconut and I was intrigued enough to give it a shot. I'm not a huge coconut girlie, but it was actually quite tasty. I wouldn't not get it again, lol. If I hadn't already eaten lunch I would have also grabbed some nachos and a pickle, but that just gives me a reason to come back sooner than later. I used to come to Rodney's all the time when I was younger because we lived nearby, and I can't recall a time where the parking lot wasn't FULL! I hope that on my most recent visit the lack of visitors was due to the threat of rain, because I would really hate to lose this gem. If you're in the area, give my fave a try!

Yelp
It's always a pleasure coming back to New Orleans and getting Rodney's. Snowball so soft and lots of juice!! I don't eat dairy anymore but I HAD to get the nachos, brung back so much nostalgia

Yelp
I've visited Rodney's my entire life and they remain consistent. I only go for the snowballs, but I see people order nachos every visit. They have spoiled me because now I expect every spot I visit to have gummy bears. Overall, I recommend Rodney's snowballs.

Yelp
Honestly during this time of social distancing i have been craving sno balls. So today i had enough and decided to search for one. I usually loves plum street or hans but i decided to search in my hood. Luckily i found one. The ice is really damn good. I really enjoyed my sno ball. I had got a medium one which costed me 2.25 i believe. The nacho cost more than the snowball. On a hot day like this i am pleased The flavora were really good. Not as thick and syruppy either It was perfect. I will definitely be back

Yelp
When I came home to visit, I just had to go to Rodney's!! This snowball stand has been in the east for so long. It's really iconic. You can't go wrong with getting a snowball and some nachos from Rodney's. It's really nothing better!!

Yelp
I went to Rodney's with my mom and sister.First the worker had an attitude and also,my snow ball had hair in it. I put the attachment below to see the hair. They were very fast tho and I like that. I wish no hate against the snowball stand I just say they need improvement.

Yelp
Good snowball, even better nachos. I do not recommend the sugar-free flavors as I have tried multiple and each one has lacked in flavor. Also, the nacho is better plain (to me) without the chili. Decent customer service each time and I would return if I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Enjoyed my snowball, and they had quite a few different options. I'm definitely going back, but I don't think they had my favorite flavor (wedding cake) but we going see when I go back lol!!

Yelp
Refreshing velvet sweetness. Loved my snowball and the hidden gummy bear in my snowball was a nice treat.

Yelp
Snowballs consistently good. Smooth ice and real flavors. Not sure why I think tamales aren't always the same but normally pretty good. Snowball and tamales hold the gummies. Go to spot For SB

Yelp
These snowballs were my mother's favorite when we were younger and now they r my favorite snowballs. The gummy bear that's put on top is such a bonus!!! Sour apple is my favorite flavor hands down. I wish they had that granny apple with too because that's what u would getting a 2 for 1....‍

Yelp
Snowballs are a unique tradition un New Orleans. A great place has soft ice, at least 25 flavors and the option if adding condensed milk or ice cream. This place offers all of this! I love their pink lemonade, but I also get hawaiian punch, orange, wedding cake, the sugar free flavors when I'm craving the flavored ice but limiting the sugar intake. This place is not stingy with juice. They make sure you taste it. Nothing's worse than getting a smowball and it's taste like ice only. If you can't decide which flavor you prefer or want a mixture, you can get two. One unqiue thing about their snow balls is that they place gummy bears on top. I typically order extra gummy bears. The taste of the gummy bears on ice is a real treat. The dipped cones, tamales and nachos are good too. Parking is cramped, but it's worth it.

Yelp
What can I say, they are the BEST! I didn't grow up eating sno balls, but when I became a resident of New Orleans, I became Hooked. Sadly, I no longer live in NOLA, but when I am in town visiting I always make a trip by Rodney's for a cherry snoball with nacho's. I'm pretty standard and stick to what I like; but there are tons of flavors to choose from. There is parking, so you definitely don't have the excuse of no where to park. The lines get long but moves quick. Rodney's has been and will be my #1 Snoball pick now until forever.

Candace S.

Yelp
Great tasting Snowballs, nachos and extras! I like that there's a choice of sugar-free snowballs, yay!
google avatar

Yelp
What makes a great snowball?...The softness of the ice and if their not stingy with the juice. Rodney's comes through on both. A snowball from here is great on these hot & humid days...and dare I say is almost as great a compliment to a few pounds of crawfish as a beer/daiquiri. Don't debate me on this :-) My nieces and nephew love this place...so much that a few dollars doesn't help us when we come for after school visits. I mean after you load up on hot tamales, hot dogs, loaded nachos, and three stuffed snowballs....your wallet can take a small hit. But its so worth it! Definitely beats slaving in the kitchen. This has been dinner a time or two when Auntie Kee didn't feel like cooking. But don't tell their Paw-Paw I said that. Oh and the signature to their snowballs is the gummy bear they add in the end. Kids go nuts for it!

Mia C.

Yelp
They don't take cashapp or any forms of Covid friendly payments in this pandemic. Awful

Ra'Linda R.

Yelp
Their snowball was good and fast but they are very stingy with there products. I had to go back and get what I payed extra for. I had a hot dog with chill and cheese. It just felt like I could have made it at my house. Nothing special about it. Seem liked I just wasted money.

Yelp
Grew up on this snowball stand. Great snowballs. I like them because their ice never dries out, the cream flavors & freezes are the best in the city, and their nachos are the best. Always worth a visit on a hot day.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
I'm from New York. So I am very partial to frozen treats. That's because we got all them Mr. Softee trucks on the streets where you can get your rocket pops. Oh and let us not forget our pizza spots with the Italian icees. The Italian icees are the best. Now when I checked out this place it was pretty interesting. It's like a hole in the wall spot. But not quite. I got a watermelon and lemon snowball. It was pretty tasty and their small is most places large. The price was very economical. I really enjoyed it. Will be back.

Yelp
Super cute little snowball stand! Very Jesus oriented decor, but delicious snow cones and fast friendly service!!!

Yelp
This place is my go-to when I want a standard snoball, and close to me too! I'm always tempted to go here after the stress of visiting the post office nearby or just if I want a snoball done right. It's really easy to miss this place if you're looking for it. Small shotgun style shack. This place has everything you want from a snoball stand, a variety of syrups, cream flavors, the stuffed option, snacks, and who can forget the gummi bear they put inside. For some reason they sell tamales *shrugs*. I always ask for a stuffed cone with added gummi bears no matter where I go, so it's nice that they can cater to my wants. Ice is always ground well and is smooth up until you reach the very bottom. Never been denied soft serve. Easy to sip and take spoonfuls to eat. My favorite flavors are peach, spearmint, tiger's blood, and raspberry. This place gets very high in traffic and that's where they lose a star. The parking lot is absolute hell. There are three spots in front and the rest is angled parking, so you have to enter a round-about to leave and fight cars on the way out. Everyone just parks on the curb in front and that is a mess as well. Both windows are open to lines since they are so busy, and oftentimes my concoction is handed to me while I'm trying not to be in the way of the next customer. The last time I came a girl nearly mistook mine as hers. They are definitely more worried about volume than being polite. Never really feel valued as a customer that's for sure. There's no where to sit and enjoy yourself either. Just get your sh*t and go; sit in the car or attempt to drive off.

Yelp
Best in the East! If there is a line it moves really fast. Condense milk flavors are the best!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm really surprised no one has reviewed Rodney's yet. I've been a huge fan of their snowballs since I was a little kid. I wouldn't even TRY another place's snowballs. Of course I've tried to broaden my horizon a bit. But no other place compares to Rodney's, in my opinion. Oh and I love those gummy bears!
google avatar

Sebrina B.

Yelp
I write this review primarily to say CASH ONLY. Truly, I still haven't figured out the finesse of snoballs (although Trina J's review has brought some perspective). I understand how they are different than snow cones now, but that is about it. So really when I give this four stars I am giving it four stars for not being bad. The ratio of ice to syrup is good here. I was talking to much and mine melted a little but still had strong flavor. I also like the addition of the gummy bear. I think it is to help with the sadness that comes when you realize you are at the end of a snoball.

Yelp
I live in Atlanta but my husband is from New Orleans and we schedule travel around being able to get a snowball from Rodney's every day we are there they are so good!

Vaughn L.

Yelp
Best snowball stand in the city. I've been coming here since I was a child, it feels good to be able to take my kids to the legendary Rodney's snowball stand in New Orleans East.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Cash only. Nachos are great. They put gummy bears in their snowballs. Their ice is really soft like actual snow.

Yelp
The famous gummi bear snoball stand. Rodney's has classic stuff and their snoballs are good. If you are in Da East and jonesing for a snoball hit up Ridney's

Meaghan G.

Yelp
Snowballs are awesome! Nachos are awesome! Gummi Bears in snowballs are AWESOME! Prices are amazing!

Yelp
Best Snow Ball Stand Ever. Being going since the 80's. The originators. Soft ice with rich flavors

Tonya B.

Yelp
gotta have it everytime i go home for a visit!!!!!!! amazing sno balls ( yes, a new orleans term) in the 504. the nachos are good too.

SM H.

Yelp
A lot of variety of flavors and they put a lot of syrup in it. Very refreshing on a very hot day. It is located in a very shady part of town, so beware if you're going at night.
