Google
Have heard about Roegels for a while, but never had the opportunity to stop in. That all changed yesterday when I dropped into the Katy location for a Brisket Grilled Cheese which was amazing!! The slaw was good, but needed a little more something. The beans were quite tasty with just the right amount of heat. My son had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, which he only let me have a little, bite sized sample of the bark and meat. Very good stuff! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back for a standard plate of Q.

Google
Especially good barbecue in the Katy area. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Really good brisket and turkey. Pulled pork wasn't bad. The fried okra was exceptional. The other sides were all also quite good. I look forward to my next visit.

Google
I ordered the brisket potato with the meat on the side (See picture). The potato was warm (not hot) but not enough to melt the cheese or the butter 😔. They were super busy but everyone was very pleasant. They mixed up my order with someone else's and the customer was the one to catch the mistake. They forgot the BBQ sauce and the beef brisket tasted and looked more like pulled pork. Also, there was more fat than meat. Not marbling, fat. I was disappointed because I'd heard such good things from this place.

Google
Every penny spent was well worth it, the portions were HUGE which is rare with bbq. My husband got the rib special and added a link of jalapeno sausage. Frito pie is a side y'all ❤️ I got the pork belly burnt ends and the loaded trash fries with brisket. Those burnt ends were heavenly tossed in their in house bourbon sauce. The flavor of each of the different dishes was outstanding and I can't say enough about the portions, definitely a new favorite.

Google
Enjoy coming here any chance I get. The staff is awesome and friendly. The bbq is the best I've had. Come on Thursdays for the best Reuben you'll ever have. Thanks Russell and Misty for such an awesome experience.

Google
Someone went a little crazy with the pepper Brisket smoke perfectly Ribs a little dry but still very tasty Overall Very good bbq Will go again

Vincent W.

Google
Decent Texas bbq. Heavy pepper on the bark. Outstanding loaded potatoes as a side.

Rebekah W.

Google
Amazing customer service! I have a severe nut allergy and they knew the exact wood they smoke the meat in and knew it was nut free. They also were able to tell me what oil they fry the rest of their food with and they told all of this to me cheerfully! It is so hard to get people to be happy about helping you with food allergies in the food industry so 5 stars to this place!

Yelp
Got some Texas BBQ! Juicy tender brisket Crispy perfectly done fried okra A craft root beer Good, and prompt customer service and a clean enjoyable dining experience. Well worth the trip.

Yelp
Great BBQ spot with super fast service and short lines--rare for this chain. Brisket packs insane flavor (best I've had), though it's a touch dry (still easily 4/5). Everything tastes fantastic, love the regular (white bottle) and spicy jalapeño (red bottle) sauces. Condiments always fresh, place is spotless (including bathrooms), Diet Dr Pepper on fountain Apple Pay, and to-go boxes ready. Only downsides: prices are high (normal for good BBQ, but once-a-month treat), and trashing your tray is annoying--the lid is stiff and makes it messy. Solid 4.5/5. Highly recommend if you want flavorful brisket without the usual wait.

Yelp
My daughter had the ribs and fries and she loved it, I had some of hers and they were really good. I had the loaded mash potatoes and they were good. The beans were a bit too peppery for my taste and I had the brisket. The initial cut they gave me was to lean. I expressed that to the cashier and without hesitation or any further explanation needed she replaced it with another serving that was extremely tender

Yelp
I went here for lunch with some co workers, one which recommended it. I ordered the chopped beef brisket sandwich plate; I thought a bit pricey at $23 but they have no lunch specials and I wanted a side. The sandwich was delicious: buttery brioche, tasty pickles, good bbq sauce and a lot of moist brisket. The sides were very gross; I ordered loaded mashed potatoes and coleslaw thinking, how can those be bad? The mashed potatoes had a gritty texture and no salt and too much pepper chunks; the coleslaw was dryyyyyyyyyy with nothing on it. My friend who recommended the place admitted the sides aren't good; thanks for the warning! My 2 friends ordered the turkey club which looked great and the turkey platter. I sampled the turkey and it was very moist. Bottom line: go for the meat and nothing else.

Yelp
We set out last night to find a new find in the Katy area. We selected this BBQ restaurant for our pick. We walked in and it is counter service and self serve drinks which is ok. The problem was before we even ordered we were given a list of the 5 or 6 things they were out of, not a great start. No restaurant should run out of food that is on their main menu. If it's a special, maybe, but not a regular menu item. So we ordered and waited for our food to be brought to the table. Great Sweet tea by the way !!! We had a party of 4 and the food came out pretty quickly. The brisket potato was good. The brisket cheesesteak lacked seasoning but once the sauce was added it bumped it up. The other couple had the house made Bologna sandwich sliced way too thin and tasted like jerky. Her husband had the sliced brisket sandwich and fries. He was very happy with his. The restaurant was not real busy so the ambiance but I can tell that the place is family friendly. It was very clean and decorated nicely. We would give it another try sometime and maybe it was just an off day but never start off with a LIST of things we don't have.

Yelp
Delicious sausage with jalapeños and cheese, moist brisket and the coleslaw was savory as well! You get sliced bread with your order and plenty of condiments only Texans would expect! Another plus is that it only took 5-8 minimum to get our meal and that's with a long line to the door! Cashier and staff were smiling and welcoming and we just really enjoyed the dining experience. Our only slight would be the pork ribs being a little dry....thus the 4 stars. Overall, if you are craving Texas bbq or have guests in town then I would recommend this spot! Country ambiance and Texas taste!
google avatar

Rod D.

Yelp
We came here to eat after a funeral. They were able to accommodate our whole party of 40. They were very sweet and nice responding to all our requests and needs. As we entered, they had reserved all the tables in the center of the restaurant for us. We wanted to get the whole Texas bbq experience so we ordered 2 family platters which included 2lbs of brisket, ribs, and 6 lbs of sausage (3 types, normal, jalapeno cheddar and bouron sausage) and 8 types of sides. From collard greens to coleslaw to potato salad and mashed potatoes, everything was delicious.

Yelp
Not my favorite spot in Houston, but it beats having to wait in long lines before opening for BBQ (such as places like Pinkerton's or Truth BBQ). I ordered the 2 meat platter for $26.90 (Sept 2024 price) before tip (not sure if you are suppose to tip at these places or not, but I did anyways). I thought it was expensive for what you get, but it was filling and enjoyable. The brisket had a good burnt ends. The sausage was great. The collard greens were nicely seasoned and the corn bread was enjoyable. I appreciated how the condiments and sides are plentiful and self serve. Overall, it makes for a solid BBQ meal, but nothing outstanding enough to draw me back in. Perhaps I'll go again to try the Rueben sandwich they offer on Thursday. Service was ok. Nothing over the top. Just ordered at the cash register and received the food at our table. Everyone at my table was a bit surprised that my meal cost this much. If I would have ordered a drink, it would have toppled the $30 mark (including tip) for lunch. Your best value would probably be to stick with a sandwich. Parking is plentiful because the restaurant is part of a commercial shopping center. Being some deep pockets, an empty stomach, and check this place out if you are craving good BBQ.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place, I really did. Waking in, it was decorated very nice and seemed to be clean. Let me start with service. If I was rating on service alone, it would easily be 5 stars. You walk in and order at the counter. The person working the counter was very nice and accommodating. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She made this experience so much better than it could have been otherwise. As for the food. I'll break it down by what we ordered and rate each item on its own. I ordered the two meat plate and a side of pastrami. It was Thursday and I HAD to try the pastrami. My plate consisted of: Ribs - tender and had a decent flavor. Not great, but not bad. Nothing stood out about them. Moist Brisket - this was a nope for me. Maybe it was too late in the day, but it was not good. You know its not good if you have to add sauce. There wasn't much flavor at all, and there was no smoke ring to speak of. Its like it was cooked in the oven. The slices were uneven and dry. Pastrami - it was also dry, but had a much better flavor than the brisket had. Sadly, I was hoping that it would knock my socks off, but it didn't. It wasn't bad, just a bit too dry for my liking. Potato salad - was a good solid potato salad. Was even better with their pickles mixed in for that little extra flavor. I wouldn't make a trip just for the potato salad, but if you're there, its a solid side. Greens - probably the best side. They were seasoned and cooked really well. I enjoyed them. Husband had: Pulled pork sandwich - He said he could have had a better pulled pork sandwich if he had made it at home with the store bought pulled pork, and he's not one to complain. Beef sausage link - he was on the fence, said it wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. I tried a piece of it, and it tasted good to me. All and all, I was hoping for so much more. Maybe I went in with my expectations way too high, and I am a bit of a BBQ snob. So, this may be an outstanding place to other people, it just wasn't our cup of tea.
google avatar

Martin D.

Yelp
Their food is top notch. I'm dying to try their ribs. The brisket will melt in your mouth. Tater salad is delicious and so is the coleslaw. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. When I went, they had buy two pounds of ribs and got one free. They like to get your sides ready after your meat or chicken is done. Double check your bag because they forgot one of our sides. Don't leave your sides behind. When you walk in, it smells like bbq. They have the utensils in a dispenser along with the napkins. They have mild sauce and spicy sauce. They have pickles, onions and jalapeño peppers sliced. Definitely try their desserts. You'll love them. If not, walk out the side door and take a dozen steps and you'll walk right into House of Pies.

Yelp
I thought the BBQ was great. I like the location because it's new and modern including the fact they have a full bar. Not sure people will be hanging out here for the bar but it's nice to have. The fact the place had plenty of seating, mostly to do with not many people here was nice since there was no crowd to fight. The Texas caviar which is a side had way too much Cilantro in it otherwise it would have been better. Everything else was better. I would pick here over many other BBQ joints. This isn't my favorite spot and even though I found some faults I think they did enough to warrant a full 5 start rating.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
This was my first real Texas BBQ and it did not disappoint! The staff displayed real southern hospitality and the food was fantastic! The brisket was so soft and the pork ribs were nice and juicy! My favorite part of BBQ is the SIDES. The corn cake, collared greens, potato salad and mac and cheese were all great. This was actually one of my favorite Mac and cheeses! Not too salty and very creamy. The sweet tea was not too sweet and I added some sprite and lemons- I can't stop thinking about it. Don't skip the pickle bar either! I wish I had some spicy pickles back here in California!

Yum Y.

Yelp
Sept 25. Tried - Brisket 1/5 Chicken and turkey 4-5/5 Pork ribs 4/5 Sides were fine. Nothing good/bad just mediocre Skip brisket for sure.

Yelp
I love the workers at this place. They are super friendly and helpful. They are always praising the owner and they seem truly happy to work there. I have picked up bbq for the family from this place and they gave me a free beer while waiting. The brisket is great and they have multiple sauces. They have a spicy mustard bbq sauce that is unique and delicious. The also have fried okra which I hardly ever find at BBQ places. The ambiance is chill Texas bbq.
google avatar

Christy P.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and four things have stood out every time: - fried okra - brisket - potato salad - pudding The fried okra is perfection, and they give you a very generous portion. The brisket is very moist and has a peppery bark. The potato salad has dill, which gives it a nice lift from your average boring and bland potato salad. And while both the peanut butter and bourbon banana puddings are good...that bourbon banana pudding has reeeally fantastic bourbon flavor. My least favorite things were the hatch sausage and cucumber / tomato / feta salad (they were out of Texas caviar, or I would have tried that as my side). Service is friendly. For improvement, I'd like to see them tackle any little gnats buzzing around. Otherwise, this is a solid place.

Yelp
Roegels in Katy is the real deal! I have been to the Voss location a few times for specials, but recently visited the Katy location for the first time. There is plenty of parking (which as an inner city Houstonian I truly appreciate) and the location is easy to access. I walked in and the employees immediately greeted me and took my order. Roegels is casual counter service, you enter a line to the left when you walk in and order your food before grabbing a table. I ordered a two meat plate with brisket and ribs, with collard greens and mashed potatoes as the sides. The two meat plate was $23 and the serving size was great for each part of the meal. I feel like I got more brisket and ribs than I normally do when I order a two meat plate at other places. The brisket was a good mix of lean and juicy, both types of the meat complemented each other well. The ribs were dry in a good way, they were firm and had a bit of pepper flavor on them. The mashed potatoes had some cheese and bacon bits in them, and they were the first thing I finished. The collard greens were cooked well, they were tender, had a little bit of meat in them, and had just a slight bit of spice at the tail end of each bite. I'm glad I finally tried out this spot, the next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop by. Be sure to follow them out on social media for the scoop on special menu items and daily specials.

Yelp
We were staying at a hotel close by in Katy and didn't want to drive out during rush hour to Downtown Houston for BBQ so we searched on Yelp and found Roegel's. First things first, the service and hospitality was exceptional from beginning to end. All the staff we encountered were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. That being said, the food unfortunately did not live up to the reviews. Sliced Brisket Plate ($19.99): 3 slices of brisket with choice of two sides which we opted for the mac & cheese + potatoes. The brisket was a miss as it wasn't juicy or tender/melt-in-your-mouth as we had hoped. Nice little fatty later on top of the brisket to compensate but it just wasn't enough. Brisket Sandwich ($13.99): The chopped brisket in the sandwich was much more flavorful and tender though the entirety of the sandwich itself was on the saltier side. I ate the sandwich along with pickled onions which was a great pair but wish there was jalapeños as well as I've seen in the condiment pictures. Smoked Sausage (~$7): Casing of the sausage had a very good snap to it. Great dipped in a little bit of BBQ sauce. Bread provided complimentary with your meal. The bread was outstanding and suuuuuuper soft/fluffy. Private shared parking lot amongst other businesses in the plaza. No issues finding parking as there was ample.

Yelp
I always stop by when passing through. I usually get to-go (and package up some of their awesome homemade pickles) but last time I sat at the bar. I love their out of the box menu items, like the brisket fries and bologna sandwich! SO KILLER! Their staff is always super friendly and hospitable. It wouldn't feel like a (successful) trip to Katy, to me, without a stop at Roegels.
google avatar

M. D.

Yelp
Food is great, but I advise you take an Uber unless you want your car windows smashed out! Middle of the day at lunch with clients. Not a great experience to say the least :(
google avatar

Gordon L.

Yelp
Went back with the wife again and gave it a try. This time I had moist brisket plate and cucumber tomato salad and coleslaw. Brisket was great, tender and moist. Cucumber tomato salad was a little old and very little flavor this time. Coleslaw had zero flavor and was a little dry. My wife had a brisket bake potato and it was good. Potato was cooked good and enough butter and brisket to make two meals. I had to peach cobble was amazing. Got to give it a try.

Peter P.

Yelp
Usually happy with this place. Not happy today Today is the Texas Reuben Special day They were out of them when I arrived at 1:00 pm. 2 hours. That is not something that should happen
google avatar

Apryl M.

Yelp
On Sunday I wanted bbq and brisket to came here around 6pm. They were out of ribs so spent $68 for 1 lb brisket, 1 jalapeño sausage, 6 smoked wings and 2 sides. The protein meat were smoked good but the brisket was too fatty for my palate. Also, I was disappointed that you only get 6 wing dings and not the whole wing for the price. The collards were cooked good but just okay as it lacked flavor. The Mac & Cheese sauce was not good as it had the taste and consistency of cheese wiz; way too much imitation cheese and needs REAL cheddar and maybe some garlic & onion seasoning. I'm a Mac & Cheese guru so I know quality and this needs some help. Restaurant is causal and service is good. Staff servers very friendly. Overall, bbq is decent for the area but I prefer the Houston location.
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
Order the burnt pork belly tips and there is no way it was made this week. It was so old and dry. If I dine in no way they would serve me this. They only serve it because it was delivery. Such a shitty thing if you plan on making new customer or keeping existing one. You know when food shouldn't be served..
google avatar

Yelp
We couldn't leave TX without finding some TX BBQ, and most of the other places had ridiculous lines - so we were very pleasantly surprised to find that Roegels wasn't packed at all. Everything here was a delicious and the staff were great, highly highly recommend a stop here if you're not wanting to wait in ridiculous lines for TX BBQ! We got a variety of meats, all of which were just done to perfection. Tender and tasty, even our kids loved it all. The portions were pretty generous as well, 2 plates was more than enough for our family of 5 (granted our kids are on the younger side). They have a great selection of drinks to compliment your meal as well. I was really happy with their condiments/pickle bar. The spicy pickles were an awesome counter to the sweet sauce and heavier meats. Overall, definitely a recommended stop. Great place just outside of Houston on your way to Austin. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This setup is quite different from the Roegels on Voss. More spacious for sure. Plenty of seating at this location. The service is typical of a BBQ place. You order at the register and they give you a number and bring out your order to the table. I ordered the 2 meat plate with brisket and ribs. The brisket was amazing as always! Moist, flavorful with a nice bark. The ribs on the other hand were a tad bit over good. I got the small end of the ribs that were a little dry, but still better than other places. As my sides I got loaded mashed potato's and macaroni and cheese. One of the best BBQ places in Katy!

Malyssa O.

Yelp
We got our food came home and tried it all! It was delicious!!!!!! Everything! We got the chicken fried steak, Mac and cheese, greens, ribs, lean brisket. Sausage links! The customer service was top tier and they even made us the brisket elote even though it was crossed out on the menu! We will

Yelp
Went for lunch with the family when they were visiting from Denver. Between us we had the following: Texas Two step Sandwich Pork Belly Burnt Ends Chopped Brisket Sandwich Bologna Sandwich With Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw, pickles, jalapenos, pickle red onions and assorted sauces. Portion sizes were great! Service was fast and excellent! Friendly smiling faces all around. Premises was clean, inviting and well staffed. Everyone in our party stated that they would be happy to return! Overall nothing but smiles!!!
google avatar

George R.

Yelp
Great Mac n cheese and the fried okra is top notch! Has side pulled pork that was moist but not greasy...and the wife had a massive baked potato with very tasty jalapeño sausage. Fans all around! The Service was impeccable And went well with the calm ambiance!
google avatar

Yelp
No need to try to find a parking spot in a tight space here in this West Houston outpost of this fine BBQ establishment. Very good Barbecue! Brisket, Sausage, and ribs are always on point. Friendly staff. You can get all your bbq fixings (pickles, bread, onions, etc) on the side bar The loaded fries are so good! I think they use the same cheese as they do for their Mac and cheese. I put brisket on mine and it was divine! Remember, Pastrami is only available on Thursday's! Highly recommend!

Yelp
After eating in several BBQ places in Houston, I think I found my favorite!! THIS IS THE BEST TEXAS BBQ IN HOUSTON!! Amazing service , food is delicious and a lot of flavor and great ambiance!! Oh and the peach cobbler was to die for!!! Recommend this place 100%

Yelp
Food: excellent. Service: excellent. Ambiance: very good. I ordered the 2 meat plate, brisket and sausage. cole slaw, beans. brisket was with a nice smoke ring, seasoned on the outside, woth grest proportion of lean mean w some fat on the edges. Beans were chockful of savory peppery spices, and loaded with meat and sausage slices. the cole slaw, a real treat as it was not sweet except a hint of cider vinegar. wonderful. portions were generous, place was clean, and I was given samples of the potato salad and the texas caviar. both were good. I ordered a can of sparkling lemon water, very good. Restroom was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful and there was adequate staff. at least four for the front area alone. will be back soon. prices? probably $$$. it was over $20 under $30.

Great food and friendly service. A bit pricey but was good. Menu easy to navigate and staff was available recommendations.

Yelp
I love BBQ and I never really don't like it. Same goes for here. It was good. But next time I crave BBQ, I'll try someplace new.

Roxy S.

Yelp
Disappointed that I ordered the chicken and it had blood. Went to talk to them so we could get it cooked a little longer. The manager said no, and that it was the bone marrow that was red. I would press the chicken meat and blood was evident. I wish this would have been handled differently. Chicken should never have blood, my daughter has gotten salmonella in the past and had to get hospitalized. Blood in chicken is never acceptable, wish this would have been remedied instead of them being bothered. Maybe some things should be adjusted in cooking times. Check your chicken. I dont know if I will return.

Mickielia R.

Yelp
Service was great. I got my food in a timely manner. I had the grilled cheese brisket with fried okra. The sandwich was just ok. Was it worth $16? No. The fried okra was great. Could they have given a little bit more than 13 pieces? Yes. Out of 10, I'd give this place a 7.5

Yelp
Sometimes you just have to Roegel with the punches and come and get some local bbq, from here for example. This little local barbecue shop that did so well that is opened a big place over here in Katy and it's absolutely delicious. I guess the main issue is the price, but in city like Houston just as in Austin and Dallas the price of the barbecue is never going to be great or affordable as it would be in Wichita Falls where my fave TX BBQ is. It's a little difficult to swallow if you know what I mean, but the food here is excellent and we will definitely be coming back again. I don't have an amazingly high standards for Houston barbecue anyway, as the best barbecue is usually hidden in remote corners of the state like Wichita Falls, but by HTX standards, and compared to hipster rubbish, it's very good.

Yelp
Great food and customer service, the pitmaster is a natural, great smoke ring and bark on some super juicy brisket, this is what BBQ is supposed to taste like..Turkey was nice and moist with great flavor. And last but not least the pork belly burnt ends were the kicker, perfect balance of flavor and pop. You eat with your eyes first and it was a feast, definitely be recommending to people wanting great top notch BBQ with nice atmosphere. Make sure to tip these folks they work hard up there

Yelp
I've always been a loyal customer of Goode Company, but my dad mentioned how great the Roegels was in town. We tried their Katy restaurant and I was completely blown away by the incredible bbq! I ordered the BBQ lean sliced sandwich. What a smoked flavor! We also ordered the greens...it was spicy, but flavorful. They are not afraid to add heat to their food! The person behind the counter was so helpful. She came over to chat during a lull. She certainly knows How to extend Texas hospitality. The only thing I would like to suggest is switching away from styrofoam products. I know it's cheaper, but read up on the forever plastic and human health issues. I can't wait for my next visit!

Kim S.

Yelp
This LOADED BRISKET BAKED POTATO was so flippin' awesome. My new favorite and highly recommend!
google avatar

Shantel K.

Yelp
I found this place on door dash when we were looking for a BBQ place closer to us than the one we use to go to, use to, as in Roegels is OUR IT place now. The brisket was the absolute best I have ever had, the flavor is amazing. It's super moist, delicious and just plain YUMMY They make their own sausage in house and I tried the jalapeño & cheese. Fabulous They have great seating availability and customer service was on point. Angela is absolutely amazing, the place is jumpin which means the food is stellar. If you have not checked them out, do your self a favor and please do, your tastebuds and stomach will thank you for it. Well done

Yelp
Food was welled seasoned and cooked/smoked to perfection. Best BBQ in Katy-Houston. The service was superb. They went over the menu and offered suggestions along with daily specials. The ambiance is a perfect setting for beer & bbq while watching your favorite sport. I recommend the Ribs, collard greens & peach cobbler. #lipsmakingfingurelickinggood

Yelp
Went in for lunch on a Thursday. Wanted to try this place and compare to Brett's honestly because I'm in love with Brett's but I think the atmosphere could be better. The food was good but in comparison to Brett's it's sub par. We had a good spread. The pork belly was hard and not what was expected for a pork belly burnt ends in my opinion. I did like the brisket elote. It has some nice spice to it. The fries were good and as you'd expect. The Mac n cheese was delicious. Atmosphere was so so but better than Brett's in that category. Overall, I think I'd come back in the evening to give it another shot. But I'll be going to Brett's for the burnt ends and drinks!

Debbie E.

Yelp
The chicken is not smoked, pale skin and dry white meat. What a disappointment! They used to have great chicken, took it off menu then put back on but its not the same. The Mac n cheese is too salty and so is the pastrami. Won't be returning, a waste of money!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
we got the meat sweats combo meal for 3 people, and it was definitely enough food for 4. the rub on the meat was great, and everything was cooked to perfection. the bbq could've been better. mac n cheese and corn were great, and it was average cole slaw. you order at the counter and food came out relatively quick. they have a full bar too! i would recommend this place for new age bbq in houston

Yelp
Solid 4 stars for the food but I'll give it a 5 because the cashier was very kind & patient. The place itself was clean & had a chilled rustic look to it. I wanted to try this spot because I enjoyed the one on Voss. I am glad that they've opened one in Katy. I decided to ordered their 3 meat plate. I got the smoked chicken, brisket & pork ribs; my sides were mac & cheese & pinto beans. I'll start with the brisket, it was smoky, tendered, had a nice bark along with a good rub. The rub had the perfect amount of salt to give the brisket a lot of flavor. The ribs were pretty solid. It had an interesting aftertaste because it was vinegary. The smoked chicken was my least favorite, it was okay at best. I felt that it wasn't smoked long enough & it could've used some more seasoning. The mac & cheese was firm & chewy which makes it a perfect "al dente", however, I would improve on making it more creamier. I wanted to get the collard greens but they aren't doing it for this location (bummer), so I got the pinto beans. In my opinion it was above par, I enjoyed the pull pork that was added into the beans. They do need to add more salt though. Overall it was a very good experience. Good food, great service, great area. I hope this spot becomes successful like the one on Voss. Will I come back? Heck yeah.

Yelp
Rodeo had me craving barbecue again. I checked out this place based on the reviews. Got the three meat plate of sausage, brisket, and pork belly. Brisket and Pork Belly were tender....it broke apart easily. Plus they had a good bark. I knew then this was worth the price of admission. These two along with the sausage passed the "no sauce" test. In other words, I didn't need the sauce to eat them with....if I chose not to add it. Macaroni was good, corn was okay....but with a three meat plate, if the meat is good....you're not going to care about the sides as much.

Yelp
We visited here after seeing a segment on The Texas Bucket List show. We're always looking for a good BBQ place and the show made it look very good, plus it's veteran owned! Went there today for our 17th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. I got the 3 meat plate, pork ribs, brisket, and pork belly along with fried okra, and corn bread casserole. My wife got the 2 meat plate - turkey, chopped brisket, mac n cheese, and fries. The brisket had a very nice bark and smoke ring and was juicy and oh so tender. The ribs were fall off the bone (The ONLY negative about the meal was they don't remove the membrane from the ribs). And this was my first time having pork belly, it literally melted in my mouth! The fried okra was super crispy, you could tell it was cooked to order. The cornbread casserole was quite tasty as well. Oh, and their iced tea is well made, not this barely colored water you see in some places. The turkey was just a tiny bit dry but very good as was the chopped brisket. And just like the okra, the fries were nice and crispy. The mac n cheese also very nice. Service was excellent, the restaurant (including the bathrooms) was very neat and clean. This is definitely on our 'go to' list now for BBQ.

Yelp
Great spot for tasty BBQ -- the ribs are a must-have. Juicy, moist, tender, and fall off the bone: wonderful. Everything we had was delicious & generous portions. Service at the counter was also top notch, the lady at the counter was very helpful for first-timers. Only thing we didn't expect was that the sauce was very vinegar-based, more watery: tangy than thick/spicy. We definitely got the hookup with an extra sausage. Great pickle bar, too!

Yelp
We live right next to this place, and finally tried it out. Great char on the brisket, and I'm one happy pregnant lady with a satisfied bbq craving! Looking forward to our next meal here. I saw a bbq grilled cheese on the menu I'd love to try next
