"Roey’s was another pizza favorite for our family that we patronized this year." - Eater Staff
"Rosemary’s Pizza has officially pivoted to Roey’s, an all-day Italian cafe serving items like cacio e pepe egg sandwiches and roast chicken in a sun-filled space." - Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya
"Replacing Rosemary’s Pizza, the new all-day Italian cafe opened today in the West Village at 1 Perry St.; Roey's brings cacio e pepe egg sandwiches and roast chicken to a sun-filled space." - Carla Vianna
"I see the West Village pizzeria at 1 Perry St. being reimagined as Roey’s, a more intimate, all-day Italian-style cafe from owner Carlos Suarez opening May 16. Suarez, who launched Rosemary’s Pizza last summer with a Neapolitan-style pizza-and-salad menu, says the pizza concept proved “too limiting,” so he’s expanding hours (breakfast 7–11:30 a.m., lunch until 5 p.m., dinner until 11 p.m. Monday–Friday, and weekend brunch 10 a.m.–5 p.m.) and adding a sun-filled 40–50-seat dining room that spills onto Greenwich Avenue, plus a separate coffee bar with its own Perry Street entrance that will turn into an Italian-inspired aperitivo bar at night with wine and Spritz-like cocktails on tap and a takeaway counter for to-go orders. The all-day menu will include breakfast items like a cacio e pepe egg sandwich and miso oatmeal; lighter lunch fare and vegetable dishes such as roasted carrots with stracciatella; and dinner options including roast chicken and the dry-aged meatballs that first appeared on the pizzeria menu, with some pizzas returning (notably the broccoli rabe and stracciatella pie). Suarez is also adding family-friendly touches—a children’s library in the dining room, a cookbook library, and a school lunch program at the takeaway counter—to make the space feel like a warm neighborhood cafe." - Carla Vianna
